I’d love to know how long it was between when your consulate received your 129f and set your interview date.
Looking at the “Consulate K1 Visa Historical Processing Times” it seems like it is usually more than a month
(sometimes two or more) between when the application arrives and the interview time.
But I wonder how long until you knew when your interview was.

Depends on the embassy.

if you have transcripts then W2 is not required.

I have transcripts for 2006 and 2008 but for 2007 I could only find the W2, I assume this should be ok, correct me if I am wrong, thanks

Sounds like you don't have tax transcripts you ordered from IRS.
Call 800 829 1040 24/7 and they are free. Takes about a week to get them. NO need w2s then.

I dont have transcripts for 2007, just W2. I do have transcripts for 2006 and 2008, I am asking, do I still need a transcript for 2007 if I only have the W2?

Do you know what tax transcripts are because u keep saying u have 2008 and they are not available yet?
Tax Transcripts are ordered from the IRS at 18008291040 or on the web at www.irs.gov if you can get 2006 and 2007 you do not need your w2's and you should have your w2's from this year or at least be able to get copies fairly easy.

Good Luck

1) 2 days after NOA2, starting calling NVC: 603-334-0700 press 1 then 5.
2) Once NVC has your case, they assign a new case #. Ask them what date they sent your file to the embassy & also for the NVC case #.
3) Once you know the date NVC sent off the file, track it at DHL's website: http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef For the reference code, enter EXP 10 JUL 2009A (adjust using dates just before the date NVC told you), with a shipping range of that day to a few days later (July 13 - July 14 worked for the example above). Look for shipments to your beneficiary's embassy.
4) To find out if the embassy processed the packet, call the Dept of State before 5pm: 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0

I'm sure she can't fly to US anymore.

Read: What happens if the petitioner dies before the principal beneficiary has immigrated to the United States?

If the petitioner dies before the principal beneficiary has immigrated to the United States, the petition is automatically revoked pursuant to 8 CFR 205.1(a)(3). This means that the consular officer will not be able to issue a visa to any of the beneficiaries of the petition and will be required to return the petition to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If there are compelling humanitarian circumstances, the consular officer may recommend that DHS reinstate the petition. Alternatively, the applicant may contact directly the DHS office that approved the petition to request that it be reinstated for humanitarian reasons. If DHS reinstates the petition, the Consulate will contact the applicant(s) soon thereafter.

If your personal income tax returns for 3 years prove that you are over the threshold, no problem at all. Supply them instead of W-2s. Meanwhile, for your own protection, it may be wise to separate your business from your personal life, i.e., by not having your personal expenses paid by the business, to pay yourself a modest salary plus distribution of profits, etc. If someone sues the business, then you can lose your home etc. in the process. Check with your CPA.

Agreed, I have really been taking a hard look at how I have been doing it in the past and wish I would have changed things a bit sooner but past is past, exactly the reason I am changing things starting immediately. Thanks for the info.

Chinastress in relationship?
Not just an Asian thing but a simple girl thing. You said that you would do something and you didn't. That is just not on. It also seems kind of rude and lazy. However, Asian culture does place a higher emphasis on the idea of 'face' so as mentioned above, she may feel that she has lost 'face' with her friends and family because she has not received any kind of physical mail from you. They can't be there every time you say that you love her in a conversation.

As a side note, if your fiance wants to work as a lawyer in the States he may want to consider doing the 3 month NZ profs course (can also do it part-time over 6 months). I expect that he'll still have to do bar exams in the US but it might make it easier to get into them if he's already admitted to the NZ bar. Good luck.

Hey, don't worry about attaching the photos to send this in (or just attach standard UK ones if you want to). You can go to Gould's pharmacy (across from the Embassy) on the day or the day before or when you go for your medical and get them there. They do lots of different countries visa photos and the US is one of them.

I attached UK size photos and they just binned them, didn't seem interested in those and attached the US sized ones when I handed them over.

Hope that helps x

It being the London embassy you are more likely to be waiting at least 2 months to receive and interview date and then another month for the actual interview - if the trends for the last 6 months are anything to go by.

Since it is only a matter of a few days, I'd take the oppurtunity to show up with your husband. It looks good.

I don't know if it's still possible but other couples were completing the form online and sending to their SO or had them downloading the form themselves. And when they went to the appointment they would drop off DS-230 part 1 so the Embassy could start the processing for scheduling an interview.

I just spoke to him, he said he could courier it to the embassy. I'm going to be in JA on Saturday so I could just bring it. So should he courier it or should we go to the appt we have for next thursday in kingston?

So far so good. It does not appear that she is missing Jamaica. She does want to go back in Dec for a visit, though I expect to go down for work in Aug/Sept 1-2 weeks and she wants to stay here.

She is having a bit of trouble with the accent, having to repeat herself often, so she make me do the talking when we are out shopping. What a turn around that is. In JA I'd hide so they didn't raise the price.

Her SS card came in Thursday, Friday a welcome to the US letter, and today the 10 year greencard.
Nothing more to do for 3 years.

It was only 16 days, but this was a blue sheet interview that was rescheduled. I'd guess you are looking at 2-3 months.

Actually $70 isn't bad for a Razr, one usually pays less because they sign up for a plan and the cell provider charges less than the real value of the phone to get your business. That is why they gave it to you for $25, they wanted your contract. Now they have it.

Unlocked Razr's are still going for $125 total cost on ebay.

:ot:

Anyone have T-Mobile? I have a razr (btw piece of ####### phone & waste of money) and it dropped into some water. Now it's completely dead and T-Mobile is telling me I have to pay $70 for my deductible (even thought I pay $6 a month for ins). I'm a little ticked off right now b/c $70 is WAY TOO MUCH for a razr. I bought my phone for $25 back in Nov. Is there anyway to get around this ins policy? The conditional green cards (2 year) is for K1 visas or I-130's where the couple is married less than 2 years before the spouse enters the country.

I did not realize that was a requirement. I thought you just had to have meet in person within the last two years. No worry none of this applies to me. Sorry...still learning how to post replies.

You can still file for a visa without knowing your partner 2 years, you just get a conditional green card right? I've read on this, and there is a 2 year limit on a certain kind of green card. If you have known each other over 2 years they give you the other one. There are many people who have filed for a visa in less than 2 years knowing each other. I think the embassy was giving that couple the run around or there were probably other outstanding issues that nixed the visa.

Even her flight has gone the way of issues. They held her up in immigration so long that she missed her flight to Indy. Now she's flying to dallas, and then to indy. Will be here 11pm.

So she's fillanally landed so the visa side is over.

Go figure, they probably provided the wrong date. They can't do anything right there. I think it's the fact that most of them are Jamaicans, stuck in Jamaica... so they don't care about the lucky ones that get to leave.

There are quite a few of them that would have lost their jobs had they been working for me at one of our Jamaica centers.

You can alway try google jamaica, it does do a bit better for jamaican releated searches. But, the data found is accurate, as furthur up the page it described what I went through, only less fees as I went directly to the Ministry of Immigration and Passports on Constantspring Rd in Kingston.

A better method would be to go to the office in Kingston in person with the documents. They will copy everything they need. You don't need an appointment. Once they send you the Citizenship paper, go back and have then stamp your passport with an unconditional landing stamp.

I did this claiming citizenship through my mother, so it only took 6 months instead of a year. But think about all we are going through to do the same for our SO. You can easily leave JA and return for the papers.

Yes, at http://www.foreignphone.com/

I'm pretty happy with Cable & Wireless Canada's Foreign Phone. Cost is in Canadian dollars.

For $34.95 a month I get Unlimited Calls to US, Canada, and Great Britain. 0.03 to a Jamaican land line, 0.17 to a Jamaican Cell phone. I have an Indiana phone number and a Jamaican number. So I am a local call from JA.
Call forwarding is great, I have gotten online and changed it to forward to the embassy, then call my US home phone number from the office when I needed to call the embassy. I also change it with my cell browser to call my wife when I'm on the road.

Now as she is planning on leaving JA, she is giving her family and friends a local number that they can call her on.

Wow, that's a cool plan. And they have that in the US? I need to check that out.

Hey family!!!!

I don't know if anyone has tried this (mobilecaller.com) but i got 541 mins for $20.00. You can register your house phone and cell phone. My hubby has alot of friends and fam back in the yard and this really cut my bill 75%.
Hope everyone's having a good day.

I think those rates you quoted are for land lines. Cell minutes are $.19 per minute. I still think that's about the best deal I've seen.

Watch out for all the connection fees from this provider. When it comes to calling a cell in JA Ringyard is still a better deal, cause they don't have connection fees and such.

Ringyard is what I am using now. I still have $ .10 a minute but once I use that purchase up; it'll change to .19 per minute. You're right, there are no connection fees and the rounding is good too on Ringyard.

I am not sure where your man is in JA, but Hope Medical in Mobay can be very accomodating squeezing you in for an appointment quickly. Though they cost a little more than the 2 in Kingston.

Unfortunately Kingston does not always follow their own procedures, but you should be able to get what they call a Blue Sheet Interview, which can take about 2 weeks two schedule. Of course The idiots scheduled a full blown interview for my wife for April 3rd, when we were waiting on a physical, even though that is not what they said they would do.

Here is the info on the medical. Since you have your date make your appointment tomorrow.

YOUR MEDICAL EXAMINATION
1. SCHEDULING YOUR APPOINTMENT
You must schedule your medical examination at least seven days prior to the date of your visa interview. The date of your visa interview appears on your appointment letter. Failure to complete your ..medical examination by the seven days prior to your visa interview may result in delays with your visa application, so you should be sure to make arrangements to take your exam at the earliest opportunity.
There are three locations authorized to perform examinations for immigrant visas, and you may have your exam done at the most convenient location for you.

You must call ahead to schedule a specific appointment time with the doctor of your choice.
2. MEDICAL EXAMINATION FEES
The fee schedule is as noted above, payable in U.S. dollars or the Jamaican equivalent. No personal cheques are accepted.
3. WHAT TO BRING TO THE MEDICAL EXAMINATION
-Completed medical history form (on reverse) -Your appointment letter
-Passport -Four (4) passport size pictures
-Any immunization records showing prior vaccinations **Please remove all necklaces and neck chains prior to the examination.
4. IMMUNIZATION
U.S. immigration law requires that all applicants be vaccinated for the following diseases:
Mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus, diptheria, pertussis, influenza type B, hepatitis B, varicella (chicken pox), pneumococcal, and influenza.
Depending upon your age, you may not need all of these vaccinations. Please present your immunization records to the physician at the time of the examination for the physician to determine which immunizations you may need. You may receive any needed vaccinations at the time of your examination. Please note that immunization fees are not included in the cost of your examination. Please be prepared to pay for any additional vaccines that you may require.
5. HIV TESTING
During the immigrant visa medical examination, the physician tests all applicants over the age of 15 for antibodies to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), a disease which may lead to acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). In cases in which the physician has reason to believe that a child under age 15 might be HIV-positive, he or she may require that the child undergo a blood test.
AIDS is the name given to a group of illnesses that may occur in persons infected with HTV. Infection with HIV causes a defect in a person's natural immunity against disease. This defect leaves infected people vulnerable to serious illnesses that would not normally be a threat to someone with a healthy immune system. A positive test result for HIV does not mean you have AIDS, but that you are at risk to' develop it. Any positive results will be confirmed with an additional test.
The results of your test will be provided to a consular officer, and may be reported to the Jamaican health authorities, as required by Jamaican law. If the test results are positive, you will be ineligible for the visa and the consular officer is required by U.S. law to deny the application. However, a waiver of this ineligibility may be possible, and the consular officer will explore that possibility with you during the interview.
Revised 11/05

Nickiesha will be coming in through Miami. I've traveled through there often, so I have given her detailed information as to what to expect and where to go. She is actually traveling on a free ticket. When I was returning from the last interview my flight from Miami to Indy was overweight. I volunteered to stay in Miami overnight and got a $250 flight couple and hotel/meals.

I may have gone through alot, but have done quite well on the airline ticket side. Most of my flights have been paid for by the company I work for. I have only had to pay for 3 of my trips myself. I expect that at least once before the end of the year, I'll be going back bringing the wife on the company, probably late August early September. Of course I'll be working and only have weekends myself, but it will be good for my wife, unless she gets herself a job she can't leave. Not that I'm concerned about her working, but she'll need something to do while I am at work,

good suggestion nyceness. my fiance's immunization records are lost so he will be getting them prior to his medical.

hey belwin- did your hubby have to start all over with his immunizations? Do you know which specific shots he did get?

eric- what will be your wife's port of entry?
