This is the flow chart for the K-1 VISA

http://www.visajourn...amp;page=k1flow

read that and then start getting ready for the interview..

Here is something I found in another thread that someone posted post NOA2:

1) 2 days after NOA2, starting calling NVC: 603-334-0700 press 1 then 5.
2) Once NVC has your case, they assign a new case #. Ask them what date they sent your file to the embassy & also for the NVC case #.
3) Once you know the date NVC sent off the file, track it at DHL's website: http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef For the reference code, enter EXP 10 JUL 2009A (adjust using dates just before the date NVC told you), with a shipping range of that day to a few days later (July 13 - July 14 worked for the example above). Look for shipments to your beneficiary's embassy.
4) To find out if the embassy processed the packet, call the Dept of State before 5pm: 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0
5) You can also call the DoS to find out your interview date once you believe the embassy has scheduled it.

Good luck!

colored in red is not useful as there could be a bunch of packages shipped out in bulk, some of the packages in the bulk could process faster then other packages.....

This info has been used by many and while it is not an exact science you can get a general idea when your package has arrived, saying it is not useful is just an expression of an opinion or theory without sufficient evidence for proof.

8. Proof of having met in person in past 2 years: hotel receipts, airline tickets/boarding passes or anything else you might have.
9. Proof of ongoing relationship: Pictures, cards & letters, chat logs w/screenshot and cam pictures or anything else you might have.

Ok ya i have receipts and plane tickets for proof.

For ongoing stuff. I don't keep chat logs/archives on my computer. Would something like facebook suffice? I received a card from her too, perhaps i should send a copy of it heh.

Yah copy the card and the envelope and send it...facebook probably not gonna be much help.
Make sure to start keeping copies of letters and cards and any chat so you can send some at the interview stage. Also keep your itemized phone bills to send also.
Everything else you have looks fine, and it is just one picture per the instructions with the g325a, the letters of intent are ok if notarized (even though they don't need to be) and you won't need a marriage certificate to go with the divorce decree.
And DO MAKE SURE you make copies of everything for your records in case something gets lost.

Hello,
I am new to this, as we all were/are i suppose, but i wanted your input to see if i got this correct. I have the following paperwork prepared:

1. I-129F x 4 copies.
2. G325A x 4 copies for my info, and 4 copies for Fiancee with signed attachments.
3. 1 each Passport style photo of both me and fiancee.
4. Divorce decree from my past endeavor.
5. Copy of my birth certificate.
6. A notarized copy of Letters of Intent from both me and fiancee.
7. $455 Money Order.

Am i forgetting something, or do you see anything wrong? Also, can the copies of the birth cert and divorce decree be copies, and not originals? Don't want to send originals if i do not have to.

Another question i have is in regards to our situation. My fiancee is from the philippines, but lives in Canada. Will this present a delay of any sort? She has easy access to a consulate there, but wanted to ask for sure.

Thanks!

All petitions once approved get sent to NVC for dispersal to the appropriate embassy. Their just seems to be 2 form letters they use and one say they sent it to the consulate, but in reality they all must visit NVC.

Yes, she can arrange to have the interview in the country she is working...BUT she will still need to meet the requirements of the Philippine embassy, CENOMAR, NBI, police certificates etc...

I haven't been successful in finding an answer using the search feature, so here it goes. My Canadian girlfriend/fiance is working on her G-325A and asked me the following questions:

What should she do if her middle name doesn't fit in the space provided? She has two middle names - Patricia Elizabeth

Her father is not a part of her life anymore, and she does not know where he lives him. Will it be a problem that she doesn't know her father's address?

Thanks in advance for the help!

You can write in the name, you don't have to type the form.
For the father, just put unknown.

I need some help with the K-1 process. Now my fiancee wants to come to US for a couple weeks without her child. Do you know if she can come for 2 weeks on a fiancee visa?

No would be the answer, the fiance visa is to bring your fiance to the US with the intent to marry them within 90 days of arrival and then file for Adjustment of Status.

We got confused too when we prepared for the I-129F until I read the recent immigration news on visajourney.

http://www.visajourn...is-g-325a-form/

We used the new version of the G-325A then print it 4 times. So 4 copies for the petitioner and other 4 copies for the beneficiary. Hope this enlighten u. smile.gif

4 copies for Petitioner ? Why ?

The G-325A and G-325 clearly asks for applicant details and signature.
So why would you want to put the USC's 5 yr employment history and residence ?

The applicant would be the non USC spouse filing an adjustment of status. 4 copies of applicant's G325A should suffice in my opinion.

Because the g325a is a multi purpose form and the question was originally asked in the forum for K1 visa and the I-129F asks for copies from petitioner and beneficiary....or to put it mildly NOBODY was asking about an AOS question blink.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures4 copies of the G-325 or only 1?
QUOTE (ajune @ Sep 15 2009, 10:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello there!

I downloaded the G-325 from the USCIS website a while ago. The form was 5 pages long: 4 pages of things to fill out, and one instructional page. I recently downloaded the instructions for the I-129F, which had this puzzling statement: "Submit a completed and signed Form G-325A (Biographic Information) for you and a completed and signed Form G-325A for your fiancé(e). Except for name and signature, you do not have to repeat on the Biographic Information form the information given on your Form I-129F."

That made me think that I needed to submit only one sheet--and sure enough, the version of the form G-325 that is downloadable now has only 1 sheet, not four. But in searching on the site, I keep seeing people talk about 4 exact copies, etc. etc... So I'm wondering what to do!

Thanks so much!

http://www.visajourn...is-g-325a-form/

It was a four part form in the past they updated the form in July but there has still been some confusion. Read above for info.

I've got a few questions regarding the Declaration of Meeting in Person page portion of the I-129F application (Question #18).

* Is this a single document that needs to be written by ONLY the US Citizen or by both the US Citizen and the Fiance.
If by both, should they be the exact same or is it ok for them to be different?
If by both, do both documents get sent in at the time of the I-129F? Or does the fiance take her declaration with her to the interview?
* Is this a document that needs to be notarized by a notary before being sent in?
* What exactly should the structure of this document be?
- How, when and where you met
- How much time you spent with each other "dating" ?????
- How you decided to actually get married to each other
- How you decided to get married in the USA and choose the K1 Fiance Visa process ????

Thanks !

Don't get married yet (you can still do the ceremony and have the party if you must but leave the legal parts out). Then you can contact your consulate and explain you are not married yet but your mom died. Ask if you can fly back for the service and get a recertified visa to come to your fiance here and get married.

don't think it's that easy.... K-1 objective is to get married in the US..... you have to complete the objective....

Entered October 3 thats only 13 days ago still have 77 days to marry, best thing don't get married and try for a recertified visa, I would be on the phone to the embassy and see if that is a possibility, get it confirmed and go. Plenty of time to come back and marry within the Oct3 +90 days timeframe.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresaffidavits of support, most recent tax year 2009 not filed yet

Howdy.

Technically the most recent tax year is 2009 I suppose. I've been here in the Philippines since early December, and will be going to the interview with my sweetheart on the 24th of this month. I haven't done my taxes for last year yet and won't be able to get it done by then. I can provide the income documentation only. I do have full paperwork for 2008, 2007, 2006, and 2005, including the tax returns. I even have evidence of income going back to 1995, but not W2s or tax returns, heh.

Will this be a problem? Do they expect people attending interviews before the tax due date in April to have the taxes filed already?

Thanks.

I would suggest you take all you can as they scrutinize the self-employed individuals the most. Take the past 3 years tax returns as you have stated you have. Also, for good measure it would be wise to take anything you have to back up 2009 on paper, profit/loss statements, balance sheets, any paystubs that you have (this is assuming you pay yourself). Documentation is the key, overwhelm rather than under supply them to give yourself the best chance.

"Do they expect people attending interviews before the tax due date in April to have the taxes filed already?"

NO, but it is in your best interest to be the best prepared in case they do, they really don't care about you and your sweethearts future, that's your job.

I would doubt this years tax forms will be asked for but it always is best "TO BE PREPARED" for any and all things that might happen at the interview. It is best to cover you *** now rather than wait it out when they ask for more info and you give it to them only to hear the immortal words "we'll call you".

Remember this is a looooong drawn out process for 2 people, you and your sweetie, for the C/O it is about 5 minutes out of his hectic, repetitive day. WOW him with your preparation, take bank statements, paystubs, property assessments. Show them how important this is to YOU.

Good Luck to you on the 24th.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAlien fiance new address
Hello, unfortunately a few weeks after filing our paperwork for the K1 Visa I had to move house. We have just received the receipt of filing and been allocated a case number. I found information on the immigration website about changing your address if you're an alien living in the US but not for if you're an alien living outside of the US.

I'm sure this has probably been answered before but I didn't find anything in the seach that really seemed to apply.

Hello,

This has probably been asked before but I couldn't find it. Now that we're waiting for the NO2 to arrive I've been checking the forms which will need to be filled out on the London website. I've noticed a few comments on here about the forms being updated periodically. I checked the USCIS website to see if they have a list of forms to be updated and timelines for this but I couldn't see anything. Does anyone know if they do give notice that forms will be updated? I don't want to start filling something in only to have to fill a new version in when the NO2 finally arrives.

-So once the paperwork is sent in, he can visit? Even if the visa is not 100% processed and issued yet? He was planning on coming in December for my birthday/graduation/Christmas so it would be wonderful if he still could!

-In regards to the minimum income requirement: No proof of this is necessary until filing Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, right? Or am I incorrect in assuming this? Also in regards to the Affidavit of Support, I do not have to be the one pledging the support do I? If we are getting help from my parents financially at first? Hi everyone! I am new to the site! yes.gif I am an American citizen recently engaged to a British man. We have been together for 2 years, and just got engaged in September. He went to college in the US (where we met) but graduated May 08 so has been back in Northern Ireland since then, and we have been going back and forth every 2-3 months to see each other. I am graduating in December and would like to know the best way to go about getting him to the US legally, quickly, and permanently.

I know the fiance visa is probably the way to go, can anyone tell me how long the process usually takes? Once the paperwork is filed, is the fiance allowed to enter the US, or do they have to wait until its accepted etc?

I would really appreciate any information, its so great to hear from others going through the same thing!

Thanks so much!

Does anyone know how many copies of the biographical G-325A form needs to be included in an I-129F K1 Visa package? The instructions refer to filling out 4 forms ..... The actual download from the USCIS is only 2 pages, and one of those pages are instructions. Is there just one form per person to submit? Should 4 complete copies of the same form (With pictures and all) be submitted with the I-129F petition? Anyone know for sure? Any point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Yes, the web page is inconsistent with the new version of the form posted in July. There have been several threads posted about this; posters here who have contacted USCIS regarding this point have been told by USCIS that the new form is correct and that they neglected to update the website to reflect the new version. USCIS is instructing callers that they need only submit one page as contained in the new form.

Nevertheless, many experienced posters here recommend submitting 4 pages to avoid the possibility of RFEs.

QUOTE (Surf2Salsa @ Aug 19 2009, 12:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It's 4 signed originals per person, one for the petitioner and one for the beneficiary.
I used blue ink on a NON felt pen, a roller ball point pen, I didn't want an RFE because they thought I sent in signed copies.
Good luck.

The old form had 4 pages. The new one has only 1.
