She went to a lawyer to see about correcting the BCs and was told it would cost 30-50,000 PHP, not including court costs. We will do that if necessary, of course, but it seems pretty high to prove something that the certificate of singleness should prove.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!


It would be better if you fix the BC ASAP. And get another lawyer. That's too expensive.

Here are the two arguments you might receive, though hypothetical:

The CENOMAR could be fake. There are people who could get a CENOMAR with NSO paper even though been married to someone else.
Different places for place of marriage, one could be real and another one could be an honest mistake from the father.

yes the $213. is stable number but the exchange rate does change daily....albeit no that much but if it is 35php to $ then cost for medical at $213 would be 7455pesos and at 55php it would be 11715pesos


This issue is the Poster is wanting to know why his fiance spent about 5,000 peso more than she should on the Medical Interview.

We passed our interview last Thursday, 21st and last night 26th got the first texts from Air21 they say it left Manila on way to final destination just waiting now for delivery.

Elena took the seminar at PRISM she said it took 1.5 hours total time they only ask for required documents. She said they take seminar then call in one by one to take picture and done. Easy and Simple.
Even though she took seminar in Manila when she was there for medical we got her sticker and stamp at CFO in Cebu took us about 20 minutes total time.

I have been noticing that the visa expiration date is figured off of the day you do your medicals...so many people have gotten visas and only have 4 month, 5 months etc in comparing notes i'm finding its generally the day of medicals that is start of countdown on 6 month period to visa expiry.

No, it is not possible to have your interview at the consulate in Cebu, you will have to go to Manila, that is the only place where they process visas.

It really depends on the CO, I have heard of some that asked and were told they could, when I asked it was May 21st and I was flying back to USA on June 1st and he told us only if we were leaving in 3-4 days or medical emergency could he allow us to pick it up. Then I read on VJ that someone else asked same day and they let them pick it up. So......draw ur own conclusions.

From what I have read here on VJ it takes anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months or more just depending on how they feel at embassy there is no explanation of why some take longer than others.
