Its actually not allowed EXCEPT in the regional forums, it won't change. BUT I do agree sometimes its frustrating to read 10-12 posts in a thread and then the thread takes off in a different language. I just call my wife over to interpret or start typing in SPANISH rofl.gif

Also, I did not throw the plastic bag away; I used it to protect the visa package. Guard that packet with your life and do not put it in your carry-on. Go ahead and surrender the package to Immigration when you get here (bahala na silang mag-dispose of the plastic bag). cool.gif

I would disagree with this statement, DO PUT IT IN YOUR CARRY ON so that you know where it is at all times, DO NOT PUT IT IN YOUR CHECKED BAG, first because it may get lost and second then you have to dig through your bags after you get off flight and go to customs.

PhilippinesLetter of Intent to Marry... is it necessary??
QUOTE (rockhouse @ Aug 30 2009, 09:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I am starting to freak out here... My interview will be in 2 days. I thought I have every document for judgement day till I read one post enumerating a letter of intent to marry, which i dont have.. blink.gif .. Will they really ask for this??.. is this just a typed up letter stating I will marry my fiance??.. Is this just for additional proofs??... helpsmilie.gif Please help me, I dont wanna mess up things just because of one paper.. (Why didnt I know about this months ago..hehe)

Probably not, because the form 156K at the bottom below where it says...The consular officer will assist you in answering this part. You will sign this part:

"I understand that I am required to submit my visa to the United States Immigration Officer at the place where I apply to enter the United States, and that the possession of a visa does not entitle me to enter the United States if at that time I am found to be inadmissible under the immigration laws. I further understand that my adjustment of status to permanent resident alien is dependent upon marriage to a U.S. citizen and upon meeting all of the requirements of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
I understand that any willfully false or misleading statement or willful concealment of a material fact made by me herein may subject me to permanent exclusion from the United States and, if I am admitted to the United States, may subject me to criminal prosecution and/or deportation.
I hereby certify that I am legally free to marry and intend to marry , ______INSERT FIANCE NAME HERE________ a U.S. citizen, within 90 days of my admission into the United States.
I do solemnly swear or affirm that all statements which appear in this application have been made by me and are true and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief."

The bold part is basically the same thing as a letter of intent. They did not ask us for one either even though we had one prepared.

Hope this helps.

Oh i forgot, she has eight 2x2 passport pics.

I leave sept 8th, will arrive in cebu the 10th.Her med is the 15th and her interview is the 23th.

What is that ds 230 part 1 and 2? is that for a different process?I had filled that out, i read so much stuff till i turned blue.Kinda get your mind wired reading all the forms, and getting them mixed up with different filers.

Not needed for K1

They dont need my real birth certificate do they? She has it, but i was thinking of giving her a copy and getting my real back.

They only need copy, if they ask to see original show them and get it back

Oh, i hope that is enough time for them to send the results of her med, they person she made the appointment with on the phone told it was.And has anyone ever brought previous xrays, and med exams to the embassy and they counted them as real? She is a teacher and has to have a yearly, so she is bringing that paperwork and xray.

8 days seems like enough between medical and interview lately

Just in!! got her appointment letter in email smile.gif

Oh, didn't know this was a specific forum. I'm not very savy with this VJ website. I'll just keep my patience I supposed.

Yes, I am a Pinoy and a citizen and in the military. Just starting to miss my fiancee that's all. Here's my time line thus far.

June 18, 2009 Sent I-129F Package
June 23, 2009 USCIS in Vermont Service Center Received I-129F
June 24, 2009 Check Cashed
June 26, 2009 Received Receipt Number NOA1

So really its been 2 months and 9 days then...well I suppose that is close to 3 months, anyway give it a bit more time the 5 month it mentions is what it is, an estimate.
No reason to waste your time calling USCIS they will only tell you its only been 2 months and 9 days call back in 4 months.
Have patience.

PhilippinesHow much time to allot for POE on her flight to USA??
We had 3 hours between flights at Atlanta and still missed flight by 15-20 mins. And the time to go through the actual visa check-in was 15 mins...the line however was horrendous.
I would say 4 hours to be certain especially if she is traveling alone and may not be accustomed to an airport as large as LAX.

PhilippinesEmbassy Interview Scheduled
QUOTE (mark&rhiz @ Aug 28 2009, 11:53 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi everybody....my fiance just got the last of here required documents, and has passed her medical exam at St Lukes....we are so very happy, yet we are both kind of nervous and anxious. I know this is some thing all people have delt with.

But last night right after she told me to go ahead and schedule the interview and my flight (because I am going to visit her and family for 2 weeks and attend the interview with her), I got on the computer and started looking at flights and the calendar trying to see what fits our schedule the best.

Before I called I had my copy of the letter the embassy sent out with tracking number etc. It says that must have a valid email address, ok no problem. So then I called and the lady asked me what is Rhiz birthdate, I know it is in Sept, but I could not remember her date, and then she asked me for her address, I had to get out my address book and gave it to her. I felt foolish, because I thought I had everything in front of me that I was going to need, wacko.gif wacko.gif and I do not know if it goes down as negative thing because I did not know her birthdate, I just had so many different thoughts in my head.
That is what I did wrong, I was trying to think, that always gets me in trouble, laughing.gif laughing.gif

Well, as it is, I fly to my wonder lady on Sept 8, 2009 and our interview is Sept 14th,....her birthdate is Sept 15 heart.gif biggrin.gif

I got Elenas' interview date on the 5/21 and her birthday was 5/22 kicking.gif If your planning on having her come back with you I would go there around the 12th that way you have til the 25th, the extra 3 days after the interview will be better than before. IMHO.
Congratulations and good luck.

Their is no document verification anymore and has not been since last year. Delbros is no longer the delivery agent of the visa either it is now Air21.
I would go back to bank and talk to manager and get a refund, i'm sure they should be aware that the embassy no longer uses this process.

No, the form is for one person to be a sponsor. Use the person's individual income information to complete the form.

Thank you for the response. However, if their individual income is on a joint tax return, what then? Do I fill out an I-134 for each of them using the same tax return on both forms?

No, the form is for one person to be a sponsor. Use the person's individual income information to complete the form, meaning use their w-2's or 1099's to complete what THEY made. You can only use 1 co-sponsor they will not take mom and dad's or joanna and steve's combined income to qualify.

We had our interview on the 9th, but no visa yet, this makes me happy though, kasi that means she might get it sooner than I thought and I am hoping to fly her out of Manila next Thursday so she will arrive here in the US on Friday afternoon and it's a great flight too, Manila to Detroit, with a 2 hour layover, then Detroit to Cincinnati. Most of the other flights were with longer layovers and had an extra stop in their flights. sad.gif

Is this NorthWest/Delta airlines...if it is there will probably be a stop in Japan, all my flights there never listed Japan but we always stopped there. Either Norita or Nagoya.

QUOTE (ludy & tj @ Feb 20 2009, 05:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My fiance is already on his way as I am typing this, to here, in the U.S. and I can't be any happier and grateful for this site. If not for this forum, I don't think we'd be on this stage by now, if not, at all.

Anyways, I would like to share our experience in buying my fiance's one-way ticket. I scoured the internet booking sites like sidestep & expedia but fares range from $800 & up. Now, I found one travel agency (manila-based) and they have the lowest rates I could find. My fiance's ticket cost us $500.00 including EVERYTHING! that travel tax they have to pay? also included. Now, I don't know these guys. There was no way to find out if this company is legit or not because I'm here in the U.S. and my fiance is from Cebu City. I contacted them through text only. finalized everything through text. Took the risk of wiring money to them. And voila! we got our e-ticket! called EVA Air a few minutes after they said it was booked and the airline confirmed.

Now, the main reason I'm sharing this is because we all know we've spent so much money to get this whole K-1 process going, let alone, the U.S. economy which is totally upside-down right now. So, I hope Admin won't delete this posting. I just want to help other fellow petitioners to save some money. Don't let those popular booking sites rip you off with your hard-earned money!

Just PM me and I'll be very very happy to give you the details.

I hope this will be of big help.

How about just post the details and help lots of us, and give the guys who helped you business good.gif

Correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that you only check INTEND or DO NOT INTEND if you are a sponsor...
If you are the fiance you do not check either you just write in box N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence ) and leave the boxes unchecked with your financial information included.
This is going by the sample form in the VJ sample forms

Hey everyone,

I got a quick question I am planning on going back to the Phils for Elenas' interview and was wondering if they still allow you to pick the visa up at the consulate? I will only have 2 weeks and we would like to travel back together if at all possible and chancing getting it via air21 is not my hopes.

I know i'm gonna end up coming back alone and she will have to travel by herself and this thought is just no fun for us.

Thanks
