PhilippinesWhen married/wife's name change on Philippine passport/CFO Stamp
I would like to know anyone who after married their wife in the US did a name change on their wife's Philippine passport. How did the CFO Stamp get handled. Did they just change the biographic page to her new name or issue a completely new passport. Is the CFO stamp required if she has her GC but still uses her Philippine passport for travel to the Philippines. Thanks.

PhilippinesConfusion on Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for US bound requirement for CFO Stamp

This is correct, it is for CR1/IR1 and doesn't apply to K1 visas. K1 visa's are not issued IDS. I was confused by this also so I looked it up.

Thank. I was freaking after the first comment talking about photo copying the sealed packet. Jovi is probably on her way to Cebu to get the stamp. I haven't heard from her and I am freaking out a little. She can send a fb message from her phone. She knows she has to get it today. I just hope she read my email with the requirements. No room or error. She wanted to fly out Saturday and the ticket is non- refundable. If something came up and she missed the flight I don't know if Delta would work me and charge me only a change fee. I will have to waitbto hear from my BabyGirl. Excited about picking her up at Indianapolis Airport Sunday.

PhilippinesConfusion on Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for US bound requirement for CFO Stamp
I am still trying to figure out what the "Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for US bound" is because all she received was her sealed yellow packet, only to be opened by U.S. Immigrations at the first Point of Entry and her passport with her K1 VISA inside of it. Maybe the website is outdated and they need to remove it as it was not included in the packet delivered by 2GO yesterday. I bought her airline ticket for Saturday leaving Dumaguete. Anyone care to comment on this Immigrant Data Summary? She goes to the CFO in Cebu Friday, which her friend related that she needs to go to DFA for the stamp. Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks.

PhilippinesVisa picture

I am curious. My mahal and I are wondering something about our interview. Her interview is on Wednesday and I am going to go as well. We are just curious about the visa pictures. She put photos with her medical packet and we are wondering do we need to bring any with us to the interview.

You need to bring at least 2 US Passport pictures with you to the Interview for her VISA. Read the packet 3 for K1 on the US Embassy Manila website. It has all of the requirements. See below link for packet.

PhilippinesManila Ninoy Airport open 24 hrs or not

Yes it's open 24/7.
Annie and our daughter actually flew in to Manila on Cebu Pacific from Cebu. Arrived at 12:30 a.m. (i think it was). They stayed in terminal 3 (cause it's much nicer) till about 03:30, then went over to terminal 1. They also had the early Delta flight.
I've actually done this several times when I visited her. Usually there is not anyone at the Delta counter until about 04:00 a.m. even though they ask you to be there 3 hours early.

Not to scare you, but we had a real problem. Annie went to the counter about 03:45 and they had a handwritten sign saying the flight had been cancelled. Well, not to bore you, but after she called me and I stayed on the phone with Delta (I had purchased the tix) for about an hour, they got them on a JAL flight to Narita where they caught a Delta flight to the US. Her POE changed from Detroit to Minneapolis but in the long run they got to Atlanta 3 hours earlier than planned.

Good luck with her trip!

Thanks. They better not cancel the Delta flight. I booked her a hotel room close to the airport so she can rest and secure her luggage and head to Terminal 1 at around 3:30am. We will see about Delta. What reason did they give for cancelling the flight? Her flight looks fully booked when picher her seat selection. Only about 15-20 seats empty.

PhilippinesManila Ninoy Airport open 24 hrs or not
Quick question. Does anyone know if the Manila Ninoy Airport is open overnight after last flight. My fiancee's connecting flight is Sunday at 6:30am and she wants to stay at the gate overnight once she checks in her bags. She is flying out on Delta, so can she actually check her bags in a day early and get her boarding pass. Just curious.

PhilippinesWhen to schedule interview?

Hi everyone!!
I just got my case # and I want to schedule interview at Manila by june 26. So, do I have to wait for Manila to get are case uploaded into their system or can I schedule after payment? With the date being so far out I should have plenty of time for them to get us into their systm... but I really dont want to be locked out of JUNE!!

Thanks in advance for all your help!!

Sincerely,
Rob n Tess

Go ahead and pay or your VISA and schedule your interview if you have your MNL case number. It will be at least 3 weeks before the interview. They should have all paperwork by then. Your fiancee should do her St. likes medical at least 2 weeks before the interview date. Good Luck.

Philippinesshots

Does anyone know the list of immunizations you need when everything is all said and done? It seems to make more sense to do them in the Philippines rather than give up your first child to have them done in the US. I'm assuming for those any doctor will do not just the one they give the exam at.

My experience is that Saint Lukes will give you most of the shots, but I have found out that the second Varicella and Tetanus are still required before a civil surgeon will sign off on the vaccination portion of the I-693. Also when calling around and dealing with USCIS approved Civil Surgeons, explain that you only need the vaccination transcribed for the I-693, fax them a copy of the DS-3025 so they can identify the remaining shots needed and inform them that your fiancee, now wife had her complete physical at Saint Lukes in order to get her K1 VISA and it is good for one year or they will try to make your wife take another physical, which is expensive. My vaccination transcription fee at the Civil Surgeon I went to was only $25.00. Fee may vary by Civil Surgeon, but it should never go higher than $50.00, so call around for the best deal. Good luck.

PhilippinesFiling marriage in U.S. with Philippine Consulate in Chicago

Yes, the Philippines Consulate will forward your Report of Marriage to the NSO. However, I heard it may take months.

You can have a renewal of vows ceremony in a Philippines church without having to jump through all the legal hoops of a real marriage. I know someone who did that. All it took was a "donation" to the church.

We are both Catholic, but had a civil wedding here. So can we do a renewal of vows without a marriage license in a Catholic wedding in the philippines?

PhilippinesFiling marriage in U.S. with Philippine Consulate in Chicago
Jovi and I are married since July 8, 2012. I know we can report the marriage to the Philippine Consulate in Chicago, Illinois. The questions I have are 1) Will they report it to the NSO Office in Manila so the marriage is recognized, 2) If they d and we want to renew our wedding vows in front of her family and friends, will we be required to get a marriage license and wait the 10 day waiting period, have to get the certificate of legal capacity, get CENOMARS for each of us and attend the BS seminar on family plannig? 3) If we still have to get a marriage license, are there any provisions for couples who are already married wanting to renew thier wedding vows without having to wait the 10 day waiting period and jump through all of these hoops? It seems to me that if you are married in the United States, then the Philippines should recognize it if you produce a certified marriage certicate. I know I can have Jovilyn's passport changed from her maiden name to her married name, but it would require and appearance at the Philippine Consulate unless they happen to visit Indianapolis likee I heard they have a tendency to do by going to other cities. Anyone who has any experiences in what I am asking please feel free to share them with me. Take care.

Philippinesnbi clearance

i will let you know wally, thanks! im nervous with my nbi tom because of my nulled marriages.they might ask extra charge? im being paranoid again:( i dont have cenomar yet.i will get one :(

Don't be nervouse. Try an relax. Isn't your petitioner helping you through all of the processing. I do everything for my fiancee, all she has to do is get the paperwork I tell her to get and it is listed in the K1 Interview Preparation Packet on the US Embassy Manila website. I also prepare all of the US Immigrations forms for her so all she has to do it date and sign them. Your petitioner should be giving you adequate financial support to take care of getting the required documentation. He should not expect you to do this alone. Also go an look at the Embassy Review and select the Philippines and you can see what others have went through and the type of questions you can be expected to answer. They are not really difficult, but if you are overly nervous and cannot answer them correctly it could give appearance of a relationship that is not genuine. Take a deep breath, always smile and answer the questions promptly and do not go into long drawn out answers. Keep the answer short, simple and to the point. Good luck. Let us know how things go.

I take it you are a FIlipina by the way it sounds and if you are you had better get the A.K.A. for your NBI or the Consular Officer will send you back to get it. Any names that you have used, especially if they are a matter of record will require the A.K.A. Don't listen ti tthe BS that the NBI people will tell you. You just tell them that the US Embassy requires it becasue you have used the name and they should add it on the NBI clearance as an A.K.A., Thaey typ it on the bottom of the form and use your real name, birth name, as the main name on it. Hope this helps you. Believe me, don't le NBI tell you you don't need it, you tell them you need it and if they refuse speak to a superior at the NBI. I would also get Cenomars with the different names also. Good luck.

PhilippinesAge gap difference in Philippines

Oh, I just remembered.

My fiancee made a friend at the interview and her friend was 24 and the petitioner was 64 or 65. My fiancee told me her friend was also approved. So that is like 40 years difference.

Thanks again everyone. I have my fiancee well organized with all of the paperwork and supporting evidence. I will give her more from my trip that is coming up becasue we will go to different places with her family and I will be involved with the Christening of her new niece. Now I am hoping CSC will move quickly and that they got my revised IMBRA Waiver for limitations as I filed my second I-129F for K1 VISA at the 1 year 9 month mark of my first petition and required one. I have a clean record, so there shoul dbe no reason to deny. I just hope they got it. Anyway I am excited for the new life with my new FIlipina. She is terrific and so is her family. I don't care about the one that hurt and used me. I am over it and know that hopefully immigrations will do their job and send her packing home to the Philippines on November 2, 2012. I am focused only on Jovi, the woman that I Love!!!!

PhilippinesAge gap difference in Philippines

And what happened to the Last Wife.
I don't think the Philippines will deny a Petition on age. It is Normal. The problem is: After all the USCIS #######! there is a age difference and cultural. Its a challenge. I can see it would be. For both parties.

I also forgot to mention that I am ex-Air Force and lived in the Philippines for 4 years and have visitied several times since then. I am well aware of the cultural differences and I accept the Filipino culture and I am very comfortable with it. I do the mano po for my fiancee's parents and elders, eat balut and love the Philippines. I just got a bad one who was materailistic, selfish, immature and had a hidden agenda as I stated. She left the month she made me wait, which was almost a year to have a baby and she agreed to have one with me as soon as we were married, in comes the meddling Brother-In-Law and now I had to wait a year. When the month came to have a baby she started an argument, left the house and went to her friends house and 3 days later she left Indianapolis, Indiana and went to Redwood City, CA. Perfect timing for her to be there when the Brother-In-Law and sister were due to return to Makati City, so she could take care of his sick mother. I also obtained pictures of her with another man in his arms and very affectionate less than 3 weeks of leaving me and we were still married. I confronted the Brother-In-Law and he said it was his best friend and she could do whatever she wanted. My current fiancee is totally opposite, doesn't wear 6 inch heals and try to look sexy and Plastic/fake. Her father is a Police Officer in Dumaguete and I get along with him and his entire family, as I was a Police Officer when I was in the Air Force and stationed at Clark Air Base. I go the real deal now not one of the many bad Filipinas that are just looking for a green card. Hope this clarifies things for you. Ingat!

PhilippinesAge gap difference in Philippines

The timeline indicates you are 50 and she is 25.
I'm 50 and Mav is 34. (I always felt weird about that).
Well, as you know, she don't need parental consent.
I see no problem. But, You stated: The last one was bad to you and a 21 year age difference. I guess well just take your word for that. Treat this one better.

What do you mean treat this one better? I didn't treat the last one bad. She had a meddling American Brother-In-Law who had a sick mother in Redwood City CA and he and his wife either influenced her to leave as they visit the U.S. every 6 months so he can make money under the table to go back to the Philippines and sick onhis a_s and do nothing. 3 days after leaving me she was already in CA and she is still there while he and her sister returned to Makati City. So please don't make statements like treat this one better. I treated her to good, but she had a hidden agenda. Hopefully when her breen card expires on November 2, 2012, USCIS will tell her to leave. I already sent evidence to be placed in her packet once I divorced her. So please don't try to judge me. Maybe you made a mistake and I will let it go at that.

PhilippinesAge gap difference in Philippines

I wouldn't worry, my friend had a 28 year age difference and everything went fine! That was about 2 years ago in the Philipines!

I have 19 years age difference with my Colombian fiance and am not worried!

Good luck

I am not too worried, just trying to find out if anyone had an issue because I read some other country like Morocco someone had only a 12 year age difference and was denied. The Philippines is generally more lenient as it is normal to see much older men married to younger women. My first was 21 years younger and we had no problem, but she used me. The one I am talking to now I met through a personal reference from a coworker. She is totally different and I am so happy now and excited about our future together. We have been talking 9 months and I am on my second trip within 3 months to spend time with her and her family. Thanks for the quick response. Looks like the CSC picked up the pace on NOA2's quite a bit. Take care.

PhilippinesAge gap difference in Philippines
Hello VJ'ers that petitioned fiancee's from the Philippines. I have a questions about age gaps between the USC and the Filipina fiancee. Has anyone ever been denied based on a 25 year age difference from their fiancee. I know my first ex-wife Filipina and I had a 21 year age gap and did not have any problems. I know it is common in the Philippines to have a large age gap and for me age should not matter if you are in a legitimate relationship. I am 25 years senior to my fiancee and we both love each other. Just don't want the Consular Officer to play God and pass their own moral judgement when the evidence I have provided and continue to provide show that we have a real relationship. Any past experience would be appreciate. Thanks.

I dont see why. The CFO Seminar is the CFO Seminar. She didi it in Manila and I just confirmed this morning she does have her CFO stamp and she got it in Cebu. So why would they do it and not the other way around. It should not matter the location where the seminar was done, CFO is CFO. Well no longer worried she is clear to go.

They are not open on Saturday. Office hours Mon-Friday....Guidance and counseling programs has 3 different hours, such as
10 am, 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm...You can choose either one of those.

Here's the website. www.cfo.gov.ph

She already has the seminar certificate. She is keeping me in the dark if she made it to Cebu today since it is Friday already an she flys out on Saturday. I did read before that cfonalso had offices in the airport. She I keeping me on pins and needles. Will wait to get some sort of message from her. Hmmmmm.

Hope to hear from Jovi soon, but would love to hear from someone who actually knows the answers and no guesses please. Thanks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA1 Today!
Good luck. Gt mine for my second K1 Petition in 2 years. It is funny. the first one I filed in January 2010 was apporived with NOA2 on March 2, 2010, and then with the interview and VISA approval at the US Embassy in Manile, that total time from NOA1 until VISA approved was only 4 months and 5 days and I had one RFE that caused a 2 week delay. I don't know why USCIS is so slow right now. I am frustrated because this is my second K1 Petition, I also file the IMBRA waiver for limitations, I have no history of violence or crimes or abuse of the VISA/petitioning process contained within IMBRA. Just wish USCIS was so slow. Like I said my first one was completely done in 4 months 5 days, so I was hoping the second one would be as quick. Wishful thinking I guess. Take care. Updae us when you get NOA2.

For the record correct, it is the wrong link...I responded to your pm, and explained why the mistake.

Just for the record, the CFO seminar is not a requirement for the Embassy interview. It is however needed before you can leave the Philippines. Just take everything that is in the online K1 packet. Here is a link to the review of the US Embassy Manila where a lot of people share their experiences and typical questions asked. Make sure you have all of the financial supporting documents for your petitioners I-134 and make sure it is an original he signed and not a copy. The other supporting documents can be copies. Good Luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsnoa1

hi everyone i sent out my 129f on Saturday APril 14. I got email Thursday April 19

Dear Applicant/Petitioner:

Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the California Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number WAC1$&$&$&&$$ With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your application using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.

This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your application/petition. This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit. You MAY NOT present this notice as evidence that you have been granted any immigration status or benefit. Further, this notice does NOT constitute evidence that your application remains pending with USCIS. The current status of your application/petition must be verified with USCIS.

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE

It means your wait start which is supposedly arounf 5 months at CSC until you receive NOA2 as long as yu don't get an RFE and they are not too back logged. I am almost at 5 months right now and am still waiting for my NOA2 approval notice. That is a standard communication that everyone receives if their I-129F petition and payment received seems to be in order. The LockBox forwards it to the appropriate servce center. Good luck.

Steph,

SOOO much truth to what you posted. I am desperate for my NOA2 and I just filed not even a month ago. I guess when someone is really in love, it matters more?? I know I am really in love, not so sure about that other guy!

If you are referring to me as that other guy, my name is Rick and yes I am very much in Love with my Fiancee Jovi and could afford to go see her again a second time in 4 months, so please don't question my love for my fiancee, I am just more patient. Do you think I liked to pay another $4,000.00 because the immigration process seems to be slow? No, but I did what was necessary in order to see the woman I Love! Waiting isn't easy for me. I have been waiting since my NOA1 date of December 8, 2011. So if I offended you,the OP or Seeph, then I am man enough to apologize to all of you. Now lets be done with all of these comments going back and forth and concentrate what is important to both of us and that is being with our loved one as soon as possible. Take care and God Bless. Good luck. (Rick)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsno NOA2?

RickJovi, I agree with you, the quote "People like you should just not comment" sounds offensive not only to you but also to me because I was reading the same post.

Thank you for your comment of support. I feel like I am being attacked because I made a comment initially on my view, which is honest. It was not meant to hurt anyones feelings and I am a really nice guy that would do anything to help people. I am not evil. I guess from now on I may have to sugar coat comments a little more becasue some people seem to be overly sensitive. The fact is that OP only had their NOA1 for 2 months and 12 days now and the average processing time is 5 months. They are not even at the half way point. I understand the want to be with your loved one as soon as possible. I just spent over $4,000.00 to go see my fiancee again, which I hadn't planned for, but I spent it because I missed her and didn't want to wait 7-9 months from the time she could possibly come here on her VISA. Take care.

Those of us on VJ that have been through the process, and the waits, know that if the OP is already complaining about having to wait two months with no action, when the process does not grant, for the most part, a successful petition for far longer, then they are in for an immense lesson in patience. To think that an approval comes in so short a time frame, and to start prematurely moaning when it hasn't, indicates an unreasonable expectation on the part of those who do this.
It's all well an good to be annoyed, frustrated, emotional, to struggle with the wait, so long as we realize it won't change a thing. The time frames are what they are, that they consistently run over is well known, that we all despise waiting is a fact, but that USCIS are the only game in town, and your approval will come when it comes.

Thank you for your reasonable comment.

whoa.... I personally am from DR. theres nothing wrong with us dominicans. I wanna say as a dominican I understand your comment and it came off as a little harsh because she is just concerned as we most are. Some people are sensitive you know. And i just think you were a bit too real with the comment. Although what you said was all facts they may have hurt some feelings alone the way! this is just my opinion please dont snap back at me :ot2:

I am not that type of person and I don't make offensive statements like "People like you". I never grouped anything into people from the DR, I just said maybe I won't comment on anymore post that are form the DR. Sorry if you took it the wrong way. Take care.
