Philippines2GO and recieving the Visa?

We are waiting for the system to update and then going to set up the interview as soon as the payment is posted.

We are wanting to try to get the 27th of this month for the interview.

As long as everything goes according to plan and she gets approved should she have her visa by the 12th of June?

I'm wanting to book the flight after she's told she's approved on the 27th. So if I book the flight on the 12th of June and return with her on the 18th of June should she have the Visa by then?

I hear 4-8 business days. She's wanting to get here by my youngest son's birthday on the 19th of June.

Thanks a ton for any insight.

PhilippinesFlights from US to Philippines

From http://money.usnews.com

Best time to buy: Tuesdays at 3 p.m. Eastern. If you don't find the discounts you're looking for in the early morning, a study by Farecompare.com says the best time to buy airline tickets and shop for travel (domestically) is on Tuesday at 3 p.m. Eastern. However, George Hobia, founder of AirfareWatchdog.com, argues that the best deals vary frequently, so there's not one specific day or time of the week to buy.

Cheapest day to fly: Wednesday. According to a recent Farecompare.com study, the cheapest day to fly is Wednesday for domestic travel. "The day with the most seats is likely to have better supply, and thus ... more empty seats that require discounting to fill the plane?meaning they have to release more seats at their cheapest price point," according to the website. Other low-cost days to fly are Tuesday and Saturday, says Farecompare (Friday and Sunday are the most expensive days to travel).

Fly out early. The cheapest flight is typically the first flight of the morning. "Yes, that means you have to get up at 4 a.m.," says Rick Seaney, chief executive of Farecompare.com. The next-cheapest flight times are during or after lunch or at the dinner hour. "Of course, the absolute cheapest time to fly is on those limited routes with red-eyes," he says.

Check low-cost airlines individually. Comparison sites like kayak.com don't necessarily do all the work for you. Some low-cost airlines, like Southwest in the United States and Ryanair in Europe, don't allow their tickets to be quoted on popular comparison websites, says Seaney. So be sure to check them separately. And do your homework to make sure the so-called "low cost" airline doesn't tack on extra fees that drive up the cost, like a bloated baggage-check charge, which Seaney says is a tactic employed by some of the budget airlines.

Sign up for free alerts on AirfareWatchdog.com. Almost every major online booking site offers airfare alerts that ping you when fare prices fall. AirfareWatchdog.com stands out from the pack by using people to vet deals rather than computer systems. "We only send updates when we think we've found a good deal, whereas other sites might update you when a flight drops $2," says founder George Hobia.

Build a relationship. "The question isn't how much is it to fly from here to there, the question is, 'Who's asking?'" Brancatelli says. If you're an elite member of the airline's frequent-flyer program or if you have a credit card that's tied to the airline, you automatically have a leg-up on other travelers. "The more the airline knows you, the more it tailors its pricing to you," Brancatelli explains. Credit cards tied to the airlines now offer perks that were once standard, such as free checked bags, priority boarding, and seat selection, so they may be worth signing up for if you fly frequently on one airline.

PhilippinesAnyone doing the medical the week of May 21?

I think she's worried about walking there early morning in Manila. She's from Ormoc and has lived in Cebu. She's a little weary of Manila and, no offense to anyone from there, but I'm weary of it too. The petty crime rate is ridiculous and the last thing we want is her money getting taken etc.

But, if anyone is doing it that week, just post here and maybe you two can talk a bit :)

Louis and AyaMale02013-05-17 09:13:00
PhilippinesAnyone doing the medical the week of May 21?

Aya is going to be in Manila May 21st and take the physical on the 22nd.

Are there any other woman that are going to be there around that time so she can have someone to talk to. If you're staying in the same hotel that might even be better so you can go to the physical together.

You can take your cell phone to the CFO, no problem. My fiancee was texting me while she was at hers lol

PhilippinesImmunizations at SLMEC

When you are doing your physical there and they have you come back the second day, do they give your immunizations if you fail the chest x-ray and have to do sputum testing?

Aya is waiting to get her shots right now, does that mean she passed??

PhilippinesWhat's the fastest way of mailing documents from US to Manila?

It was less than a pound.

I sent information like the I-134 and my supporting documents.

Quick question...how heavy was the entire package of documents you sent to your fiance?...Cuz when I shipped with Fedex, it was going to be like $120-$140, I can't remember the exact price. That was for a 5 lb package...I sent an entire binder full of documents. So expensive...but thank goodness my dad has a great discount with them...paid just slightly under $40. smile.png It took about 6 days...Texas to Iligan City.

Philippinesk1 visa approved, wedding in 7 weeks, should my parents bother to get a tourist visa to attend our wedding?

Not to be a downer, but I heard it's next to impossible to get a Tourist Visa from PI to the USA.

Over 7k K1/CR1 visas are approved each year from Manila, it's next to impossible to get one because they are afraid the people leaving will just stay in the US and not come back to PI.

That's just what I've heard though.

PhilippinesMalate or Ermita

The Casa Bocobo Hotel is not bad either. Aya just stayed there the past 2 nights.

SLEC is in Ermita. So that is the closest.

You can take it anytime before or after the medical/interview. If you do it before you just have to go back and get them to stamp your passport since you'll only have the certification.

She talked to someone from he Aunt's office and they said the JAC Liner terminal is correct but she has to get on a green star bus or something like that.

Just keeping the nice people that have been helping me with this updated.

You are an absolute life saver.

She's sooo worried because her aunt told her she should wait for Monday when her aunt can come with a car because she has luggage and it's not safe. It's only one carry on and a netbook in a should bag.

How safe is that route on the bus? Do you know? I think I'll just have her take the taxi to the bus terminal that you linked on google maps and then go from there.

Louis and AyaMale02013-05-23 16:06:00
PhilippinesEmergency: need help, manila to City of San Pedro

When she wakes up today she's going to give me the exact address of where she's going.

She's currently staying in a hotel right next to the St. Lukes Extension Clinic. Where is that stuff you mention from there. She is not familiar with Manila at all, never been there.

Thank you for any help.

Hi, sorry I'm a bit confused. Aya is in Manila and needs to go to San Pedro, Laguna? Where in Manila is she staying? San Pedro is just a bus ride away from Manila. If she goes by SM Makati-EDSA side, there's like a terminal of public transport there. Or she may go to the bus terminals located at Taft Avenue corner Buendia Avenue. Take the Pacita San Pedro bus. Bus fare could be around P50-P60. She could just tell the bus driver where exactly in San Pedro she needs to get off or where she's going, she can also ask if she still needs to take the jeepney or tricycle after getting off. Sit behind the driver's seat so she won't miss her stop.

PhilippinesEmergency: need help, manila to City of San Pedro

Aya's aunt was supposed to have a car come and get her, but none of the people that drive her aunt are available until Monday.

This is not good for us because we're a little tight on money at the moment to pay for her to stay in a hotel up until Monday.

Can anyone from the Manila area at all tell us how to get to City of San Pedro?

She's unfamiliar with the area and willing to take transportation, but she doesn't know how to get there at all.

Can someone please help me asap??

PhilippinesFlying your significate other(s)

Why avoid POE at Ohare?

I used cheapoair.com and had no issues.  I just booked her via internet.  I even called them to ask questions about her transiting through China.  No worries.   She even missed her connection at Ohare (do yourself a favor and avoid POE at OHare) and American Airlines re-booked her on United.  All in all both airlines did great as she was just 3 hours later than expected.   She flew PAL from Manila to China.  I did send her a copy of my CCard with all the numbers blackened out with a sharpie except last 4 of which is all they need to verify.  I also sent a copy of my DL's with some of the items blackened out on this too.  She had no issues and was never asked for the copies.   I hear it is luck of the draw with PAL though as it depends on who is checking you in.

I hope this helps

Right there it states that the DS230 is required. I do believe you only fill out part 1 though.

Philippineseasyfiancevisa..is it reliable???

What does it mean mileage?

YMMV is just an expression.

Say that the US Embassy Manila is a Kia Rio.

Now say your Embassy in France is a Hummer.

We can both drive 100 miles, but it's going to cost you more in gas than it will me. But anyways.............

US Embassy wether it's in the Philippines or elsewhere is the same no?

No, each Embassy depending on what country you're in may take longer to schedule, may put more people into Administrative processing than others. It's very country specific.

I would post your question in the France Country Specific forum so people that have been through that consulate/embassy can help you with any questions you may have.

Louis and AyaMale02013-06-02 06:21:00
Philippineseasyfiancevisa..is it reliable???

Your mileage may vary as you are not in the Philippines.

I'm going to do an expedite for my case because with all this delay, I sign a definite selling of my house the 21st and I have nowhere to go with my daughter. Unless the Embassy pays me the time at the hotel.

I really hope it's possible.

Louis and AyaMale02013-06-02 04:29:00
Philippineseasyfiancevisa..is it reliable???

WTH?

I will put my car up against someone filing, doing the interview/medical and getting on a plan and being here in 3 months.

Takes 10 days to get your MNL roughly after you get your NOA2.

Then to schedule your interview is anywhere from 3-5 weeks (depending on USEM's calendar) and that is only after you take your medical 1 week before that.

Then you have to wait 7-10 days to get your visa mailed to you (or picked up) by 2GO.

So 45 days out of your 3 months leaves someone mailing the I-129F packet and getting it approved in 45 days.

That's not going to happen my friend. If it does it was some BS one in a million shot. People can't expect that.

Fairly easy and quick to get a K1 visa thru in Philippines. From what I have seen and read in the Philippine sections it seems like this is still the case. I even had to deal with Document Verification.

So I stand behind the 3 months timeline.......

Louis and AyaMale02013-06-05 23:26:00
PhilippinesTrying to understand the CEAC site

I'm wondering what the order of stuff on their site is so I can follow it a bit. I've tried searching and maybe I'm a bit retarded but :)

On the site it says she's in Administrative Processing. Do all of the Visa's go there afterwards? She only had the interview on the 4th so I know it's only been a couple days.

The guy asked her minimal questions and told her she was approved and good luck in the USA. Didn't give her a 221 form. I make well above the 125% so that shouldn't be an issue and there are no red flags (just one divorce on my side, no prior I-129Fs filed).

Just wondering if they all say AP before they say approved or if it's something I should worry about.

Thanks a ton.

PhilippinesScheduling K-1 Interview and Being There With Fiance

If for some reason you can't be there, it's relatively painless and Aya did it without me (even though I wanted to be there).

But yes like everyone else said you can pick the date so you can probably pick something that coincides with your available time off.

Although you sound like you have limited time, what are your plans after the interview? Fly back and leave her till she gets her passport back? She could get it in as little as 2 days or as long as 20 days so you probably shouldn't set concrete plans back until she has it in hand.

PhilippinesHow long does it take for you to get your visa after you got approved

http://www.visajourn...ance/?p=6275825

But you are looking anywhere from 4-20 business days.

You may get it faster at 2GO in Mall of Asia (MOA) in Manila but it depends on how long it sits in Administrative Processing after the approval etc.

Louis and AyaMale02013-06-06 02:42:00
PhilippinesThey didnt board my mom

What was your mom trying to come to the US for/ Without that information all this feedback is moot.

If the was on a tourist visa I do not believe she needs to attend. If she's coming on an immigrant visa then yes she has to attend.

PhilippinesIt just keeps getting more difficult.....

Embassy made 2GO forward it. It's on it's way to Ormoc now and I'll be flying out the 2nd of July.

Been working some extra at work and since I'm a supervisor and don't get payed extra, they have given me comp days. Earned an extra week of vacation this week (so I can take longer with Aya when I get back before I have to go back to work).

I can't wait to be back in PI.

Louis and AyaMale02013-06-13 05:09:00
PhilippinesIt just keeps getting more difficult.....

2GO was called and they flat out told us that they would not forward it anywhere.

I had to call the Embassy myself and they fixed it. It should be forwarded to where she wants it by tomorrow.

I'll keep an eye out.

Louis and AyaMale02013-06-12 10:54:00
PhilippinesIt just keeps getting more difficult.....

So Aya changed her pick up location for 2GO to her home city of Ormoc.

She gets a text today from 2GO saying it's ready for pick up. However, it's ready for pick up in SM Mall of Asia in Manila.

Are you freaking kidding me? ???? oops8rh.gif

So I called the Embassy and the gentleman told me the paperwork showed pick up in Ormoc so it would be at Ormoc. I told him, "I understand where your paper says it is SUPPOSED to go, but I'm telling you where it is right now and it's not Ormoc." After some checking he got back with me and said he's escalate this with the highest urgency and priority to get it fixed since 2GO sent it to the wrong place.

I postponed my trip from June 11 to July 2nd and now I am soooooo glad I did.

I'll keep you guys posted on how they fix this so that if it happens to someone else you can call and get it taken care of as well.

PhilippinesSuccessful CFO in Manila!

Yes you need a passport for CFO for immigrants, but you also need CFO to acquire a passport, which is why I posted that info.

This is the case for IR1/CR1 perhaps, but if you are getting K1 you absolutely do not need CFO to get a passport. Aya got her passport months before she got the CFO seminar out of the way.

Hank_ is correct. For IR1/CR1 applicants (the spouses), CFO is required for the release of passports. It was actually mentioned in the CFO Seminar we attended.

Louis and AyaMale02013-06-13 21:54:00
PhilippinesSuccessful CFO in Manila!

I think it depends on who's doing the interviewing. If they are having a power trip or a bad day it could have been much worse.

They asked Aya all kinds of things (we are K1 also) like my mother's maiden name, my salary, for the Cenomar, my Divorce Decree and all kinds of fun things. This was in Cebu though.

Louis and AyaMale02013-05-30 12:41:00

PhilippinesQuestioningTraveling to/through the Philippines

Wanted to ask a quick question. Just looking for straight forward answers here.....

I am under the impression that if you go to the Philippines you are stamped a 21 day visa but you have to have a ticket saying you are leaving the country within 21 days; is that correct?

If so can  you buy a ticket leaving, say Cebu and going to Kuala Lumpur (which gives Americans a 3 month stay for fun/business with no required Visa) that leaves on that 21st day will they allow you into the country?

Just wanting to know how that works. Thank you so much.

PhilippinesProof of Evidence
If I may.........

You will not get approved without the pictures as already mentioned.

My suggestion is since he has to come back out there before anything can be don is this....

Have him come out and get married in the philippines. Then you can file the I-130 for spousal visa. It will also save you the 1000 dollars for the Adjustment paperwork.

Then when the I-130 is approved you fly out there. About the same amount of time, especially since he has to come back.
