K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Stupidest RFE in immigration history!	We also had a stupid RFE in our case. After our interview at the  Islamabad Embassy, we received an email asking for additional information on our  co-sponsor. They asked for additional tax transcripts , and also multiple print outs about our co-sponsors stock holdings. Hey guys i hope you all are doing great!   Guys i Still haven't gotten my Passport back from embassy and its been 7 days since my case status said ISSUED. I call American express (courier service) daily but they don't have my passport yet and every time i call DOS they congratulated me and said its been issued. i hope they really issued it.   it was issued on 20th nov.  I Don't know what else to do now.   Any Input will be appreciated?      My friend from here on the site received his visa on day 8 after case changed to issued You are almost there mashALLAH .... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Call from Embassy - But now what ?	Grace I understand how you feel. My husband is in AP for the second time. We were in AP 16 months and they denied our visa. We appealed and won. When our case was sent back to the embassy they put us in AP again. So far we have spent 17 months in AP this time. They work on our case for a week or 2 then they stop. They asked for new documents in March then when they got them they didn't work on our case for months. My husband went in for an interview in October. They have stopped working on our case again.   It's an emotional roller coaster ride. Thank God they told you guys they were going to issue the visa. I believe we are dealing with the worse embassy in the world. Try to calm yourself and just continue to wait and pray. Good luck on your journey , I hope they approve you soon . We got a call on Nov 24th and they said they were ready to make a decision they just needed 2 passport size photos and DS260 immediately ... our case updated on Dec 3,4,5 and then stopped on the ninth. Wish you best of luck I hope Dec marks the end of your Journey.   Please let me know if anything changes , and I will do the same for you . Grace Islamabad embassy is slow. They must have gotten your documents from the mail room and put them in the computer system on the 6th. Give it some more time.     Just so paranoid . Hello All,   My fiance received a call from the embassy on November 26th , the person who called said that our K1 visa had been approved . He asked my fiance to send a new medical , passport photos and also his passport ( which he had due to traveling for work ). My fiance was so excited . He said he asked the guy over and over if our visa was ready , and the guy said yes it is , please send the information by American express.   So on November 29th we sent all the requested things by mail. Our case updated on December 6th , then December 9th but still says Administrative Processing. We called Department of State and asked what is happening . The department of state said we received your information , you are still in AP .I told them about the phone calll , and they said there was no problem with the case. Okay so I'm on a K1 visa, my fiancé and I decided to meet in South America, stay there for a week or two and then fly to the US together I'm gonna be flying out from Pakistan so do you think that's gonna cause any trouble? Like do I have to fly from Pakistan straight to the US? I don't know where to call and I'm kinda unsure US embassy will assist me over the phone Thanks   If you find a flight from Pakistan to South America please let me know . IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Swedish Police Record	Hello ,   I was in Sweden during 2009 to 2012 and today i got my police record certificate from Swedish National Broad.   Now i want to verify some things that :   This certificate does not shows my Swedish Person-number Do not mention the time period like 2009 to 2012   Just mention my Name , DOB and a sentence that :   The register contains no information regarding the Above person   Please clear me that this information is enough ?   Specially those who is living in Sweden or was living there and got Police certificate for USA   Thx   My fiance was living  in Sweden  when we met . K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Those who are still waiting... When was the last time you saw your fiancé (e)?	I wouldn't see mine until July only if I visit him. Still gathering documents to file the K1. I saw him a month ago for few days. He was denied visitor visa because they don't think he'll return to Ghana :-( . Miss him can not believe I have to wait for such a long time to see him again :-( . Need something to keep me going so post your sob story here. Its been 7 months I've recently applied for a tourist visa to visit him in his country , but the Pakistani Embassy in Chicago is taking so so long to approve my visit. I am wondering if they will approve it all. When my fiance went for his interview in Islamabad the US embassy kept his passport. He has wrote several times and asked for it back so that he could visit me in a third country , but the embassy is ignoring his request. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Sending out I-129F petition this week!	I really really hope that is the case. His family situation is terrible there and he is really suffering. I really hope this goes quickly and smoothly for us because I don't want him there anymore.      I hope it goes quickly for you also . My fiance is also in a terrible home situation and it makes it hard for us to even visit each other. I applied for a visa to Pakistan and was denied for an unknown reason . The consulate wont even answer my questions. My fiance has trouble obtaining tourist visas because of his nationality. So we are very limited to the places we can visit . K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Sending out I-129F petition this week!	I don't think that's true. You got approved when CSC was approving within the 5 months mark. After that, CSC went into a black whole. The reason it took so long for other people is because CSC started working on other type of petitions and ignored I-129f's. It doesn't matter if you met in person or on the internet, as long as you met within the last 2 years.      Maybe your right I meant no disrespect to anyone I was just going on what my lawyer said . I hired a lawyer to file my petition and he said that my NOA1 and NOA2 was approved before many of his other clients who filed at the same time. My lawyer suggested that it was because our case was very strong because we actually lived together for 5 months while studying abroad . I understand that cases have basically been put on hold because of the new immigration issues . I don't claim to be a immigration specialist I was just trying to give some positive feedback in the hopes of lifting spirits .     I really hope everyone has approvals sent very quickly , and more importantly visas issued     I myself have been in AP for over 6 months - so I feel the same stress everyone else is feeling	Grace & Irfan	Female	Pakistan	2013-04-28 18:27:00

I submitted much less information than you did and I found that we received our NOA1 and NOA2  faster than other couples. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Freaking out about my RFE	The hard copy of our RFE just arrived at my dad's house.  He scanned it and sent it to me, so they'd know what they're looking for.     I knew they'd ask for "Intent to Marry."  When I realized that was missing, my fiancee and I got those ready.   What I wasn't expecting was for them to ask for evidence that she and I have met in the past two years.  Our initial packet included photos of us together (with the dates, locations, and names of other people in the photo written on the back), affidavits from friends and family describing our history (including the fact that we lived together for a year), and email correspondence between us.  I'm not sure what else there is.     I don't think I have any plane receipts left anymore. If I dig out email confirmations of the purchases, will that be enough?  Will scans of my Chinese visas work? They're work visas and don't technically prove that she and I were in the same city...   Any other things you think we might be able to include?    I sent copies of my plane reservations from my email and also copies of entry and exit stamps on my passport . K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	I-134 for K1 visa from Pakistan *(unemployed)	Thanks for the response although it's not what I wanted to hear.   Do you mind me asking what % of cash you had in the bank?  I was hoping since I had enough cash to cover the requirement for the I-864 it would also be enough for the I-134.  I have heard many say they won't use the house as it would put you in a hardship if you sold it even though that is not necessarily true and with the market in my area it would be very easy to sell it in a few months.      They didnt care what amount of cash I had - they said if I did not get a job - they would mark me public charge and they were not lying. One month after the interview we received a paper from the embassy stating we were public charge. They did not remove this decision until after they received three months of paystubs . K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	I-134 for K1 visa from Pakistan *(unemployed)	Hi,   We are new to this site and have a question regarding the I-134.  I just lost my job of 13 years so currently have no income other than $840/month in unemployment.  My question is do I have to be working to sponsor my fiancé or is $70k in the bank and a house with equity of approximately $180k enough to sponsor?  If I cannot find a job soon I would like to spend a few months with my fiancé before going back to work if possible.  I have heard that the Consulate in Islamabad, Pakistan will not accept the house as equity.  Does anyone know if I am showing enough to not need a job right away? I will definitely be working by the time the I-864 so I am not worried about that part, just the I-134.   Thanks in advance for your responses.       I had a similar situation. I was not working because I was attending school ,however, I had enough assets to sponsor my fiance including my bank account and home which I own free and clear. The embassy in Islamabad would not accept this at all. They point blank told my fiance in the interview that if I did not get a job they would mark us as public charge. I tried to fight it using my congresssman but nothing helped .  Finally I found a job (under 100% of the poverty line) yet they accepted it and said that we now meet financial requirements . I was a student with no income ( from working ) however I did have child support , student income, and my home is paid off free and clear . The embassy said they do not except co-sponsors in K-1 visa cases and they also would not consider my child support or assets. They told me I had to get a job.At first I was marked public charge but I ran out and took the first decent job I could find . My income was UNDER poverty guidelines but the embassy accepted it. After I received my third month of paystubs they emailed me to say that I had met financial requirements and now my case was pending normal Administrative Processing.   All they wanted to see was an effort ! If that's so, please accept my heartiest felicitations. You two have indeed been very patient. I hope and pray you are both united very soon.   As regards the question, I may not have the most useful information. However, I remember when we are filling in the forms, we are asked if any other names have been used by us. But I still don't know if it applies in this case as US immigration laws are very strict and having and not having a given name can change things. But, might I ask if the same was pointed out by the CO at the time of interview? He may have travelled to other countries though where the laws are not that strict or such mistakes can be neglected.   But, keep your fingers crossed and pray like you have been and you will find a solution.   No, we are still in AP . K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Mistake on Passport , but correct on Immigration Forms	I have a small issue and wanted to know if anyone here on the forum has had experience with a situation like this .   On my fiances passport from Pakistan , the passport office  made a mistake when listing his name .   The way is should be ( correct ) Given Name: Irfan Family Name : Ullah   The way they listed it ( incorrect )    Given Name : Family Name : Irfan Ullah   His immigration forms are all correct and he has traveled many times using the incorrect passport.  My question is: Will this pose a problem when trying to enter the USA on a K1 visa ? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	i-864 form for fiance visa	Hello,   The embassy has requested that I send form 1-864 for myself the petitioner as well and the joint sponsor . We already have the i-134 on file and I am confused why they are asking for the new form . I contacted and immigration lawyer who informed me that the i-864 is for marriage visas not for fiance visas yet the embassy will not respond to my emails .Has anyone who filed for a k1 visa been required to send the i-864 ? I am kinda confused because under petitioner information it asks if I am his relative ,  joint sponsor , or the original sponsor has died . No where does it say fiance  . Any ideas ? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	joint sponsor	It might be useful for you to think about it as two separate but related issues.   1. How much income is required. The 2014 table is here: http://www.uscis.gov...form/i-864p.pdf . They might be using the 2013 which is going to be a little less. It is important to calculate the correct household size. This can be be complicated in some situations, but has been discussed here a number of times.   2. Proving the income. The tax return is the basis, but if they have doubts that the income is currently being received then the additional evidence is required.    You need to establish if the problem is 1 or 2 in order to proceed.   The joint sponsor is a single male .  We provided his tax return ,3 months of bank statements and social security award letter . They replied that his income is not high enough which is clearly not true . We wrote and asked them to take a second look and referenced  19,662$ which is 125% level for a family of 2 for 2014 .
