Thank you all for the quick replies that are easing my insecurities of dealing with the U.S. gubbermint.

I'm convinced I found a great place to get my fiancee home with me as soon as possible!

Assuming we have our documents all lined up and ready to go, no problems encountered, and submit them correctly in order, what's the soonest I can expect my fiancee here in MI from Kiev?

I see timeline pages, and the date from initial I-129 filing to the fiancee's arrival in the U.S. varies widely.

Is seven months overly optimistic?

I'm a newby here. This site seems like an awesome source of information. Since we all have our own special "twists," I hope no one will mind a simple question. Right now, my fiancee and I are beginning to gather docs preparing to send the I-129f to NSC.

I saw on the guidelines pages photos need to be dated for less than 2 years. Does "dated" mean the internal camera date must be superimposed? This may be a problem, because I never had the camera date the photos. Or can I simply write the dates on copies of the photos?

My fiance and I met summer 2004, and have many photos and many jointly signed documents. We lived together for almost all of 2005 in Kiev, and have a copy of the lease. If the undated photos won't work, there are a few other items, too.

I'm also assuming I will send copies of airline ticket stubs, and other goodies documenting our meeting.

What's the easiest and simplest evidence to establish we have met within the last two years? If all I need to produce for Nebraska Service Center is some photos with the date scribbled on them, and ticket stubs, why bother with the other docs like the apartment lease and the like?

Thank you for the reply! I think what I need is verification that a web address is all that is needed, or an actual home office address for MerryDating. Several days ago, I wrote MerryDating asking for their office address and received the following reply the next day. I pasted it below my sig. I answered that I need an address for the I-129f. I have not received a reply yet.

What confusion are you having? Have you read the embassy website? There is information there and you can download packet 3 and 4. The only confusion I have had is that on the site it says that you can use the I-134 to show support, but in packet 3 it specifically warns that I-134 is not sufficient.

We have NAO2, have passed through the NVC, and are now waiting for interview, so we can give you some help, I think, but I am not sure what is alarming to you.

You file for the K-1 in the US, so the documents are the same regardless of what country your fiancee is in. Are you talking about documents/info for packet 3 & 4 from the Ukranian Embassy?

The documents needed for my filings in the U.S. are straightforward. Yes, I'm concerned she will be on a scavenger hunt in Kiev for many documents that are not needed. I have not filed the initial I-129f petition yet. We're in the process of gathering the forms needed for the 129, and those needed later.

Is there a "definitive" list of the documents she will need? And a place to ask if there are conditions or twists to how she will fill them out?

Please advise about the I-129f revision I used. The form said (Rev. 05/23/2006) and Expires 12/31/2006.

I mailed it to the Nebraska Service Center Friday AM, January 19th. I viewed this from the USPS tracking facility:

"Your item was delivered at 12:51 AM on January 22, 2007 in LINCOLN, NE 68501."

Now I see the new I-129 posted that expires 1/2010. I've seen other references that the old form(expires 12/31/2006) can be submitted up to 30 days after it's expiration date. Did I send an outdated I-129f? Am I misconstruing the 30 day "grace period?"

Also, following the USPS notice of my I-129 being received on Monday, January 22 12:51 AM:

1) When I can expect my $170 check to clear?

2) the NOA1, or

3) RFE?

I received the noa2 on NOV 7. IT STATES IT IS VALID UNTIL march 5,2007
i received yesterday, jan 23 the letter from the embassy in JUAREZ MEXICO THAT THEY HAVE MY MY PETITION
FOR A FIANCEE VISA AND I MY FIANCEE CAN COME FOR AN INTERVIEW ANYTIME NOW AS LONG
AS WE HAVE THE PAPERS THEY REQUIRE. MY FIANCEE, MONICA WANTS TO GO IN LATE march so I
can go and stay with her there and wait while she does the interview. It will be a better time for her to go.
But what does the march 5 expiration date mean on the noa2? Do we have to go before march 5 for the interview,
and/or does she have to come to the U.S. before march 3rd?

I just noticed that the processing date according to the latest update from the Calafornia Service Center for I129F petitions moved backward over the past month. The October 30, 2006 report indicated May 2, 2006 petitions were being processed. Now after almost a month later, the November 17 posting indicated April 18, 2006 petitions were being processed. This appears to be a 39 day step backwards!! Can anyone explain what is going on at the USCIS?

Yes, I sent my petition to NSC as well. Was surprised when I got my NOA1 indicating it was rec'd at the CSC. I thought that some how it was misdirected and that I'd have to wait that much longer before they would get to it. USCIS started redirecting the NSC I129F to CSC sometime during the summer. I would think your NOA would get to you in about a week. With luck maybe the NOA2 in another 90 days. Take care and God bless...

I posted not too long ago about my I-130, i went a little crazy there. Worrying whether i did everything correctly, and about RFE's..ugh thankfully that part is over!! I also was approved pretty quickly, a few days shy of 3 months. Might give some hope to anyone still waiting, they must be working quickly since they recieved my app. on sept 12. Anyhow NVC?! I do have the basics down, i dont know if the required documents vary by country, but i do have:

-Police Certificate in Bosnian (I believe no translation is needed)
-Birth Certificate
-Wedding Certificate
-2x Passport Photos
-Signed (part 1) and completed DS-230
-Copy of passports Biographic page

Bosnia requires military participation i have the certificate that he served for 6 months, do i need to include this?

And i also have everything ready for my affadavit, with 3 years of tax returns, employment letter etc.

When can i start calling them? My case was approved on 12/7 so about a week?
When my husband emails them his choice of agent form, then i can send all of his documents?
Im not expecting to fly through NVC in 20 days, but i wouldnt mind.
Does anyone have any information as to how the us embassy in sarajevo schedules interviews? wether it takes a long time, or fairly quick.

Any advice and tips would be great, i have LingChe's guide printed out and have read through it several times, its just im worrying that i missed something. I Just feel so close to the end, i dont want to mess up now!
