USCIS Service CentersI CSC moving AGAIN?
I just believe they are either training some new employees on more recent cases or someone grab from the wrong box/pile. But at least they are approving NOA2s.

Workload (I-129f not included) from CSC was transferred to TSC. Hopefully this will help them make the processing time shorter. :)

Ha, I was posting this at the same time, just 4 minutes after you. I really hope so but will not raise my expectations from the 7-9 months processing time for right now.

USCIS Service CentersWhy are the k1's so out of sequence

July 17th getting close to enter the 300 days club...

Have you tried to put in a service request seeing how you are the day before the current processing date listed by them?

USCIS Service CentersCSC any approvals today?

Yes, pick a time where you have a lot of idle time on your hands to go through them. Also, make sure to record the #s of the ones you do find so you don't waste your effort.

My number ends with 069971 and when I get to 070000 is comes up with no case. Any idea on how to keep researching the upper end? I found the boundry on the lower end.

USCIS Service CentersWhy CSC doesnt keep doing Dec with august to nov?

I BELIEVE 'FIRST IN LINE' DESERVES ALL THE ATTENTION, NO MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION...OTHERWISE GOING AHEAD OF OTHERS BEFORE YOU IS NO BETTER THAN JUSTIFYING THOSE DACA APPLICATIONS.

HERE'S HOPING YOU GET YOUR QUICK APPROVALS..BUT HOPING OTHERS BEFORE YOU GET THEIRS FIRST!...THE WAY IT OUGHT TO BE!

USCIS Service CentersSad day today

What is our "noa1 group"??

You take your NOA1 receipt #WAC139XXX9970 and then change the last number(s) to go up and down about 100 each side. You are looking for other I129F petitions with the same date as you. Write them down as you go so you can check them again in the future. Eventually you will hit the date before you and the date after you, stop then. Now you can track those with K1 petitions the same date as yours and see when they start getting processed. However, you will see alot of other type cases around yours too, need to patient doing this the first time. Good luck and STAY PATIENT. We all have to wait our turn.

USCIS Service CentersSad day today

Were were at over 30 approvals a day last week. Now we are at around 2 for today?!!

What happend??
Did the guys at CSC just work hard for 1 week and give up???!!

This is terrible. God save us!

Even worse, the 2 cases that were approved were after mine!! lol

What do you guys think???

Will the CSC get back up to speed? or was that a sudden rush. . .

Are you both tracking your NOA1 group at the USCIS website?

USCIS Service CentersJust 7 approved on 29th?? ND 2 ON 27TH?? Please CSC dont slow down

27th was a Saturday, not normally a work day unless OT is authorized.  And Mondays will always be Mondays, kinda slow except for the 22nd of April.

I hope they keep churning them out in high volumes for everyone but still expect you to hear something around the 6 month mark.

USCIS Service Centers15 approved petition everyday?

Ok...I'll make it simple for you...15/ wk approvals for VSC makes 60/month...there are still around 200 Oct and Nov petitions for VSC..tell me how soon they will finish Dec filers at this rate for VSC.....are we within the five month goal? My math says otherwise...

When I run the numbers for VSC here for K1 NOA2 approvals for April, I find 82 approved with 2 more business days left in the month.  And each month has either 20 or 21 business days for processing cases.  Also 21 RFEs issue for April.  VSC incoming cases per month were 141 Oct, 105 Nov, 69 Dec, 112 Jan, 97 Feb and 76 Mar.   If in April VSC already made a decision on 103 cases, they have processed more cases then the average incoming per month since Oct.

I do hope they speed up a bit though to get back under the 5 or 6 month timeframe.

All the best to everyone still pending a NOA2.

USCIS Service Centers15 approved petition everyday?

I am sorry to hear and I hope your NOA2 comes to you this week.  I think that CSC forgets that there are still alot of 8-9 month people waiting at VSC and they don't get to see 20-30+ approvals a day at VSC like CSC does....

But with them showing 5 month processing time on the website, you would be entitled to put in a service request then to possibly have action taken on your case.  Also, a representative would be able to put added pressure for being outside their listed processing time frame.

Greg n VeronicaMalePhilippines2013-04-28 09:52:00
USCIS Service Centers15 approved petition everyday?

Not really overall. Just the result here in Igor List. It's kinda frustrating to see that they only approved 15 a day out of all the people registered here in Vj.

Remember we here at VJ are less than 20% of what actually happens at USCIS.  Keep the faith and you will have an answer soon enough.

Also, Texax Lockbox is where you mailed your paperwork too, but which service center actually is processing your case, Cali or Vermont?

Greg n VeronicaMalePhilippines2013-04-28 09:43:00
USCIS Service CentersAny chance of it speeding up again?

Could you please fill in your timeline to assist the whole VJ family with being an active participant for statistic purposes.  The more that are active and keep it up to date assist in a more accurate projection of dates completed.

Not know when your petition was accepted, will say that the service center speed up and slow down in cycles.  You just never know when it will happen.

We think K3 is the option for our current situation. I am grateful that you gave us advices to apply asap.
Just to be sure if there are other options available???? Maybe someone knows????

I've read the instructions for the Advance Parole (I-131) and I think "daboyz" is correct in that your option is just the K-3. Had you married and then filed for AOS before you left the states I believe you might be able to just get advance parole, but you left first. So if the K-3 is your only option, you should be able to file as soon as you get all of the paperwork ready.

Good luck.

No, we did not do that. Neither AOS nor Advance Parole. For that reason we are thinking now to file K3. Any ideas?

Why did you leave? Once you're here and married within the 90 days, you do not have to leave. You can file AOS whenever you like. There is no time limit.

I don't think you have to start over. Your husband may be able to just file Advance Parole for now to get you back into the country if it's possible. I'm not too sure of the requirements since you left before applying.

Can anyone else with more knowledge chime in please.

However, why did you leave?

Did you enter the country and marry him? If you married him and left you'll need to file for advance parole.

When I was 19 years old, I had a 16 year old girlfriend and was charged with having sex with a minor. I know the general public's perception of a sex offender is a child molester or rapist but I am neither. And it bugs me to no end that I somehow ended up being grouped in this category. I was a teenager with a teenage girlfriend that happened to be a little younger than me. I was given a 6 month jail sentence for this. I am 25 years old now and have not committed any crime since nor do I ever plan to. I have met a wonderful woman overseas and wish to be with her but due to the Adam Walsch Act I'm wondering if I would be able to get a K1 Visa. Or if I have any chance to bring her over at all. I really wish to be with this woman but am scared that I might not be able to. Any advice or information would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.

Do you have to register as a sex offender? Did you get convicted of a felony?

USCIS Service CentersPolitical Organizing to Protest USCIS Delays
QUOTE (coyote @ Apr 4 2008, 01:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi, Everyone:
This website is a useful tool for obtaining information but it seems to me that we're still operating as individuals rather than a group. With some targeted political activism, it seems to me we'd have a better chance of getting results.

I was spurred to try to stir up some action by an April 3 call to the USCIS - apparently the wait has now increased from six months to eight months for action on an I-129 application at the California Service Center. This despite the reported increases in personnel.

I'm also concerned about the apparent violation of statute when it comes to allowing fiances to work. An official with the Ameican Immigration Lawyers Association told me categorically that the K-1 visa allows the fiance to work the minute he or she sets foot on American soil. Yet the USCIS is requiring yet another fee and application, which delays the fiance's ability to work for another 3-4 months, while he or she waits for the agency to issue the permit. There are additional cost factors related to poor planning for this process, but you get the picture.

I'm sure those of you who are applying for other kinds of visas have similar issues.

The point is that, if my last phone call is any indication, things seem to be getting worse rather than better, despite the resignation of Emilio Gonzalez, the Bush appointee who has been responsible for many of the bad decisions that are affecting us.

I'm sure I'm not the first to suggest some kind of concerted political action. Can folks get me up to date on what's been done so far? Here are the ideas that spring to mind for me:

1. Letter writing campaign.
2. Demonstrations in several cities, with media outreach.
3. Website designed specifically to inform public about these issues.

Have these already gotten underway? If not, are people willing to volunteer a few hours to work on this? Does anyone have political organizing experience? Can we coordinate with immigrant rights groups?

Let me know!

Susan Zakin

The worst part about it is you see people who are having there I129-F's approved in 20-30 days in Vermont. It is so frustrating. If Vermont has that much time to already be on late February then they need to get California to give them some of theirs. I try so hard not to watch, but it's hard not to want to know what's going on all the time. I completely agree with you.

K-3 Spousal Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsEvidence to Send with K-3

What is the best type of evidence to send with the K-3 visa as proof as an ongoing relationship? What is the best way to send pictures? Should I staple them or tape to a piece of paper? How many photos should I include? Does anyone have any suggestions for including Messenger conversations or Facebook conversations? I'm having some difficulty printing them.

I printed my pics out on printer paper (for hubby) and then I took 4 at a time and put them on my color printer and printed 4 to a page on regular printer paper. I wrote the dates and who was in the pics and the event the pic was of. I sent in 150 - 200 of wedding, family together, trips we took, going to the market, just anything showing our life together in my response to an RFE.

IndiaPCC vs ECNR
What is the difference between the PCC and the ECNR in India?

My fiancé has started the police clearance certificate process but we are not sure how the process goes once that is completed? I thought we had to have some type of passport stamp but he said he already has a stamp and it's called ECNR (Emmigration Check Not Required). I thought the Passport PCC expired in 1 year but my fiancé says his ECNR never expires. Are those the same thing or what is the difference? What is the next step and what is the requirements once we have the police clearance certificate?

IndiaHow long to Packet 4?

Lindsay,

My recommendation is to call them. Many people on this site going through either the Mumbai or New Delhi consulate have never even received their packet 4.
New Delhi seems to be better about issuing packet 4 than Mumbai though. If you call, they can provide you with your interview date prior to receiving your written notice.

Hi Amanda!!

How are you? I hope you are doing well! I should have mentioned that I've been calling the Dept of State every other day checking status to see if we have our interview date yet. They just keep telling me the same thing "We see that Packet 3 has been issued. Have you received that yet?"

I just didn't know if anyone knew how long the consulate takes to process Packet 3 before they update the system with the interview date.

We re-submitted the packet on 05.23.12 and then received confirmation Packet 3 was received on 05.24.12 by the DOS...We are back on track now...just a little delayed... :-/

IndiaGetting Nervous After Packet 3

Sorry to ask , should have asked at first go, so u emailed the documents to infousmumbai@vfshelpline.com or actually couriered the documents ?

When we couriered documents it never made it, so later emailed to vfs and requested them to submit , we were told that the size of the documents (together) should be less than 2 MB. So we had to email couple of times.

Once DOS confirmed they received Packet 3 , it took few days for us to get an interview date

We sent Packet 3 via e-mail to the e-mail address you listed above. We had the same issue with the file being too big so I printed the pages to a PDF and made sure they were under 2mb (the file was actually 1.9mb) and then sent it. The VFS even confirmed they received it and forwarded it to the consulate.

IndiaGetting Nervous After Packet 3
Hi All-
Everything was moving very smoothly. We got our NOA2 after 143 days. It was in and out of the NVC, Consulate received, and Packet 3 was issued within 2 weeks of our NOA2. We downloaded the forms online and did not even wait for the hard copies as my fiance was visiting and with me in the US. We sent back Packet 3 on 04.18.12. We received confirmation from the VFS on 04.23.12 that Packet 3 was received and forwarded to the consulate. My fiance received the Packet 3 hard copy in the mail around 04.26.12. I have been calling DOS every other day checking status and no interview date yet. All they keep telling me is "I show they sent out Packet 3. Have you received that yet?" I have checked the Appointment Dates on the Mumbai consulate website daily and we are not there for the first 1/2 of June. I'm starting to get a little worried.

We sent an e-mail to VFS to follow-up and check status and did not receive an e-mail response back. My fiance then called the helpdesk and they tell him that it can take up to 12 weeks for Packet 3 to be processed. They said that after 12 weeks we should call the NVC and they can schedule an interview for us. I called the NVC today to see if that was even possible because I did not think they did anything with our case once it was sent to the consulate and they confirmed for me that they CANNOT do that. They confirmed my thinking was right which leads me to wonder if anything the VFS has told us has been accurate. I'm watching those cases around me that submitted Packet 3 well after we did get their interview dates.

I don't care when the interview date is, I just want a date. I was fully prepared to wait for NOA2, but this wait has caught me by utter surprise and is quite discouraging. We have waited over 4 weeks since submission to VFS and over 3.5 weeks since consulate should have received. Does anyone have any insight as to ways we can escalate? A phone number to where I can call the consulate directly? Anything other than just waiting with no help on our side?

Thanks!

IndiaK-1 Visa APPROVED!!!
Hi Everyone-
Well this has been a long trip. I've seen people on the other side and could not wait to be there myself! Through a lot of tears, joy, sadness, etc...My fiance and I are FINALLY on the other side and with 6 weeks away from our wedding date!! Our K-1 visa has been APPROVED!! God has definitely prevailed here and I am even more sure that he is in the middle of our relationship! Enjoy the interview review below!

My fiance had his interview at 7:30am on 07.11.12. I will try to be as descriptive as possible but I apologize as this is coming 2nd hand.

Our interview was originally scheduled on 07.10.12 at 7:30am. We were prepared and ready to go. He got there at little after 6am and it was raining so he got to go inside the consulate very soon after he got there. He did security and got his token. They called him up to pay his demand draft and we had gotten it for only 60 rupees more than required as we were concerned about the exchange rate. They sent him away and told him he would have to interview the next day. They DO NOT give change and you are NOT allowed to go fix it and come back. We were devastated and so emotionally exhausted.

The next day we did it again. This time he got to the consulate around 6:30am. They formed the 2 lines for 7:30am interviews and 7:45am interviews and started letting people in. He got his token # and was 4th to be interviewed!! He gave his corrected demand draft and they just asked general questions:
Who is calling you?
What is her name?
What is your name?
What is your date of birth?

He then went and sat down and waited for about 45 mins to an hour for his token # to be called again. The CO was a woman and asked him the following questions:
Do you want to interview in English?
Who is calling you?
How did you meet?
How many times have you been to the US?
How many times has she visited India?
When did you meet her family?
When did she meet your family?
When did you get engaged?
What does her father do?
What are her sisters' names?
Do your parents support the marriage?
Are your parents going to go to the US for the marriage?
What are some wedding plans?
What does she do for work?
Are you going to convert to her religion?
Is she going to convert to your religion?
How are you going to raise your kids?
Have you been to a church?
Has she been to a gurudwara?

I'm going to approve your visa and you should receive it via courier in 3 days.

YAY!!! It was an easy start, a long journey, and a rocky, exhausting end but we did it and we get to be together FOREVER!! I am SO glad that we had VJ to prepare us for this journey!

Preparation is KEY to the success. Always think a step ahead and learn from others' mistakes. Also, don't always believe the negative comments. Have faith in your relationship! My fiance and I did not have very many red flags but the ones we did have have caused scrutiny in other cases and sometimes denial so do not underestimate the severity but do not give up hope either.

I wish everyone the best of luck on your journey and I'm not going anywhere so please feel free to ask questions!

IndiaWaiting for Packet 3 - No end in sight
Q1. WHAT DO WE DO NOW??!?! Please help!?

Call DOS and check to see if Packet 3 has been sent. Once Packet 3 has been sent then follow answer to Q2.

Q2. Can we just send in the Packet 3 documents downloaded from the Consulate website before receiving instruction? What will happen if we do so?

Yes - Download all the documents and fill them out and take them to the VFS office directly. DO NOT E-MAIL!! (This delayed our interview by a month because the consulate never actually received our Packet 3)

Q3. How much longer is the wait from Packet 3 to interview date?

I believe we had our interview date within 2-3 weeks after sending in Packet 3 to the VFS office directly. Remember, getting an interview date is not the same as the interview. We got the interview date at the beginning of June for a July 11 interview. Keep calling the DOS to check status and they can tell you the interview date way before Packet 4 Interview Letter is issued.

Q4. She has a valid tourist visa for the US. I have been told that it is not advisable for her to travel on this to come visit me because of the pending K1. Is this accurate?

My fiance came to visit me in the US between NOA2 and Packet 3 receipt. Just make sure there are solid ties back to India such as a job, bank statements, etc. Even bring a copy of the K-1 docs (NOA1, NOA2, NVC letter, etc) to show you are doing this legally. It's also easier if they have been admitted to the US previously and they have that record where they have followed the laws. At this stage, I probably would not recommend spending that much money when you are so close to being done.
