PhilippinesCFO Questions
QUOTE (spartan @ Jan 16 2009, 05:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
QUOTE (Conan @ Jan 16 2009, 11:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Been searching for a lot of info on CFO. Haven't found clear answers to these questions:

When is the earliest CFO can be attended? After NOA2? before? What is recommended?
AFTER THE NOA2 SHE CAN ATTEND THE SEMINAR.

Should she wait until after receiving her Visa or before. Is there an advantage to doing it early?
SHE CAN ATTEND WITHOUT HER VISA YET. I ATTENDED CFO RIGHT AFTER I GOT MY NOA2.

Do they give you your Visas back right away or do they mail them?
IF SHE WILL ATTEND THE SEMINAR AND HAVE THE VISA ALREADY THE CFO WILL STAMP HER VISA AND THEN THEY WILL GIVE IT BACK TO HER RIGHT AWAY.

What kind of info does fiance have to know about me? I read mother's maiden name, mother's phone number, anything tricky.
CFO WILL JUST ASK ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP, ASK SOME PICTURES AND ASK ABOUT FIANCE'S LIKES, BEHAVIOR AND IF HE/SHE IS DIVORCE. WELL, JUST SOME BASIC INFORMATION. I NEVER HEARD OF MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME OR PHONE NUMBER.

My fiance has never talked to my mom on the phone yet. Is this bad?
NO IT IS NOT BAD. I NEVER TALKED TO MY HUBBY'S MOM WHEN I WAS STILL IN THE PHILS. WE JUST SENT EMAIL. BUT THE CFO NEVER ASK ABOUT MY HUBBY'S MOM.

Any thing else I should know?
SHE SHOULD KNOW ALL ABOUT HER FIANCE'S WORK AND NAME OF COMPANY, PHONE/ CELL NUMBER, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND (HIGH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE DEGREE) AND WHAT COURSE? FIANCE'S ADDRESS, BIRTHDATE. THESE ARE SOME QUESTIONS IN THE FORM THAT NEEDS TO BE FILLED UP IN CFO BEFORE THE SEMINAR.

P.S. TELL HER TO BRING SOME PRINTED EMAIL CUZ SOME CFO ASK IT.

Thank you

Hello my wife had the seminar in about May 2008 and just got her Visa so does she just take the Passport with visa attached to CFO and get a stamp?

I check this site , since I will be flying with Northwest soon! I base my luggage in their specs. but I am still confuse. Can somebody help me understand their checked baggage.

Here is the site:

Are you flying on PAL? and then NWA, NWA will take the same bags that Pal will PAL is down to 50 lb per bag 20 lbs for what you take in the plane

For domestic and trans-Atlantic travel, the maximum weight accepted for any piece of checked baggage, including special baggage items, is 70 pounds. For trans-Pacific travel, the maximum weight accepted for any piece of checked baggage is 100 pounds

Hello, just read all the posts and read the information in the two links and I think if I read it correctly you can only get the Balikbayan visa if your wife has been out of the country for at least one year? I will be in the Philippines next month and will bring my wife home the end of March and the plan at this time is to visit the Philippines every February and March and maybe even extend that stay to a three month period of time. So from March 31st 2009 to say February 2010 would only be 10 months so I could not get the Balikbayan visa? Anyone have thoughts about this part?

Section 2. Definition of Terms. - For purposes of this Act:

(a) The term "balikbayan" shall mean a Filipino citizen who has been continuously out of the Philippines for a period of at least one (1) year, a Filipino overseas worker, or a former Filipino citizen and his family, as this term is defined hereunder, who had been naturalized in a foreign country and comes or returns to the Philippines; and

I have done this many tiimes, >25.
When she leaves the plane she needs to take all her personal belongings and carry-on bags. Yes even if the next flight is the same number
Then follow the signs to international connecting flights.
She will go back through security. They will want to see her passport and a boarding pass or ticket to the next international flight. In her case this is boarding pass showing her flight to the POE in the US.
After security she will then need to look on the flight information board for her next flight # to see the gate and the departure time.
She needs to be at the gate 1 hour prior

This information is right on as I have done it 10 times and tell your wife to follow the crowd of people leaving the plane to continue on to the next part of her flight. The plane stops in there to fuel and get cleaned or just another plane with the same flight number. It is very easy and simple to get off the plane in Japan and then get back on. There will be many people on the flight to help her if she just asks for help.

Never be discouraged when talking about being with your wife.
We all know that this is a long and tedious process that someone would never wanted to go through over again, but come to read November 2008 CR1 filers transfered to CSC on Jan 09 we got transferred to CSC that which we all firmly believe that we are all getting our approvals very soon. A proof for our claim is this December 08 transfers to CSC from VSC most of them are getting approved in a month or so from the original date of transfer.

We can never tell how long or short will be the process, to those who grasped the luck of short process, they are all very lucky. But some has to go through a lot with USCIS. its just up to whoever which one you will be. But all requires perpetual patience.

Good luck to your upcoming process.

Read my signature and see the line that states I lost two months in the process due to being in the Philippines when the letter came in the mail here in USA. So it can be a long or short process! But if you dont try you have nothing to gain. Believe me the Philippines has nothing much to offer you as far as a job. I have been there 10 times and have yet seen an American working with exception of those who own businesses. Take care

However, as time passes due to demands of the tourism of the place, there are numerous of changes that has been alarming not only with the people but also with the ways on how to maintain a prime tourist spot of the country.

In the other hand, I do believe so that only very few of us know about the town of Caramoan, in Camarines Sur province of Bicol. This town has a hidden jewel that the government is working hand and hand on preserving the natural resources and natural scenic spots of this place. The town of Caramoan is now starting to make a name due to its flawless white beaches and combined similarity to Palawan and Boracay islands.

Right now, SURVIVOR FRANCE is currently shooting in Gota Beach,Caramoan. And, SURVIVOR ISRAEL is next, so these are th reasons why Gota Beach is currently close for reservations due to the exclusive use of this reality tv show.

Below are pictures I gathered that shows the Caramoan Beaches,a wonderful creation of our almighty God.

If she is a CR1 VISA..she just need to receive her greencard and get a SSN. She can leave anytime once she have the greencard on hand, provided that she will not stay in the Philippines for more than 11 months.

She have to adjust her conditional status if she is a CR1, 90 days before the date of expiry.

Thanks for the information but have another question for you, She is CR1 and what is the expiry of conditional status? Is that a two year time period?

i believe whats cool about your cr1 is that once you enter you're POE (immigration stuff like finger scanning and welcome to the US etc), after two weeks more or less of your arrival they will send your GC (good for 2 yrs or 10 yrs for some) and SNN on the mail! thats the advantage of the cr1 that i know of... and you can go back to phil anytime pertaining you have the GC in hand good.gif and or advance parole for some!

edit to add: while k1 and k3 on the other hand will have to file for AOS to get the permanent resident card/GC... i was on k1 so we fill up some papers and send it to the uscis to process my residency which took 4 months for me to get my GC

Thanks that would be great if it works that way. Anyone else have information about this?

Hello, I will be on the flight from Manila to Indiana with my wife. Our POE is St. Paul-Int, MN. I have noticed in my travels that visitors and I think first time entrants into the USA go thru a different Customs line than us US citizens do. My question is can I go thru that same line with her? Or must I go thru my normal line and just meet her on the other side of Customs? I would think that many VJ's here have been with their wives when coming into the country their first time and can answer their experiences with this issue. Thanks in advance for your answers.

they will include the x-ray result in the visa packet. it is not a film, it's on a cd now. only the US customs immigration can open that. x-ray film here is not necessary when you look for a job. it is not like in philippines where we carry our wide x-ray films in applying companies.

exactly, why can't they include the chest xray result not just the cd, the explanation that were clear, are lungs are normal. So no more filipino/filipinas will suffer emotionally having positive tb skin test.

I think some people see other people getting married to men alot older and feel that for some reason if there doing it then it must be the right thing to do. Alot of the women dont need to go to such an extreme to find love, unfortunately I think some are almost "brainwashed" into thinking that well if hes american, white, and atleast 20 years older then me then i know he loves me, thats kind of sad.

34 yrs is the difference between me & my husband and were on our 4th yr anniversary & counting... I disagree that woman is brainwashed when she married older man...I believe when your committed to a relationship & put God in the center everything is possible and age is just a number. Were happy enjoying everyday life & actually he looks younger on his age. He's 67 & Im 33. We both works but I ask him to retire for good in the next 2 yrs, i want him to enjoy his retirement. QUOTE (brij @ Dec 17 2009, 08:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I just had my interview this morning for K1 visa. My most awaited one. I had mine at 8:00 Am at window 29. The guy was a good looking one, but behind that gorgeous face was a horrible character. I know that their job is to scrutinize people, but wasn't expecting him to call me a liar where in fact I said all truth and nothing but the truth. I just don't understand what went wrong. Docs were all good and complete.. Questions were answered honestly. What more should I say? And when my name was called at the counter 37, the pinoy guy told me my case is for further review. They didnt say if i am denied or approve. Im so nervous that I wanna die now. Like my whole world and dream to be with my fiance all vanished. But my loved ones said, you said all truth and we don't know yet what will be their decision about it. But I don't want to hold on anymore. My dreams were all shattered and felt so humiliated.
I just want to know if this case really happens? I am now praying hard..really hard.. that somehow God will listen to me and hoping it'll be approved. Or will I ever have another interview? I don't like another humiliation from a consul.

Is there anybody here who has the same case? Or experienced same thing? Why do they need further review? Where all i said were true and honest. crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif

Hi brij...dont loose hope...you are not denied...Sept. 8, 2008 I was interviewed, my paper were ok according to the consul but we lack an important paper my husband 2 divorce paper, what complicate it most is that the name of his ex-wives were not included in G-325 and I even give wrong names. They give back my passport and given the white paper mark about the divorce paper. Sept. 15 I pass the divorce paper and my passport. A week after the embassy called me and They ask my husband to explain why it was not included in the G-325, after 2 trips in the US Embassy Nov. 5, 2008 my Visa was printed. I got my visa Nov. 7, 200.

For everyone concerns, when they give you back your passport that dont mean your denied unless they tell you so. I believe they follow the due process before they denied your dreams.

Be optimistic. There's a LIght at the end of the Tunnel good.gif God Bless

PhilippinesSeattle / Being Sick / Veggies

We were lucky to have been given a slot at the country doctor's clinic as suggested by my mother-in-law to be. We were surprised to be accommodated without further ado specially so knowing that I just arrived in the US on a fiance visa. The staff took our word for it and gladly assigned a physician to see me. The Doctor treated me well and was very accommodating, in fact, we talked about issues not relating to strep throat at all.

I am beginning to feel okay and I can talk well now. I am hoping to feel normal at the end of this week, hopefully.

Thank you guys

Im glad your feeling good now, its expensive to get sick here. The doctor visit is way up high( well i always convert it in pesos). Regarding with food, ohhh i dont eat veggies either, but i have to try it my husband loves veggies so as our friends here. When I met his buddy's family his wife cooked green peas soup for me, ohh my i tried hard not to throw up. Good thing my husband dont care on what i eat as long as im happy and he is not picky either. The only veggies i can cook for him is steam brocolli, steam frozen veggies, butter carrots & mashed potatoes. We been married for almost 4 yrs now, & he never complained on my cooking, hehehe. I guess as long as there is love, faith & trust between 2 people everything is possible whether its foods, cultures, money or personality.
