I'm back in Cebu now from my early medical exam at St. Luke's Manila. Instead of the original schedule of July 30, I had it on July 16 and 17. Everything went smoothly.

First day, July 16....I came in at St. Luke's at 5:30A.M. and I am number 65! I finished at 11:30A.M. Half day only. Second day, July 17, arrived at 9:00A.M. No more immunization for me hence, I have a complete immunization from Cebu and showed them my vaccination records from our family doctor. Two hours passed, they gave me my X-Ray film and my records. Hora! :dance:

Next step is the Interview but it won't be until August....now I am nervous again....hehehe :wacko:

Met fellow VJ'ers at St. Luke's...Rea and Jen......and all of us got our results and X-Ray films!.... :thumbs: :dance:


hi everyone, most of you now may be busy preparing for the interview but let me share the good news that we finally got our dates! August 29 (medical) and September 5 (interview). I've been quietly lurking this forum for the past weeks and was kinda 'jealous' that most of you made it to the June approval wave. For some reason, it took almost one month for our papers to travel from USCIS to NVC and finally reached the US embassy June 18 and therefore didn't make it to the June 12 cut-off.

Anyway, we have our dates and i'm happy. :whistle: Just a bit sad that i couldn't join your "bonding" hehehe... Goodluck to all of you and please do share your interview experience. :luv:

Bernie is coming back to Cebu to pick me up once I got my visa. Is your fiance coming to pick you up in Cebu too? Maybe we can fly back to the US together.

Bernie & I are very busy going through the documents. He just Fedex them to me today. I will have it within the week and then sort it all out again......wonder when would all the sorting be over.... :o He calls me now three times a day....hehehe...making me more nervous.

They have a new I-134 revised as of 04-30-07, don't they usually want the latest version?



Well our lawyer gave us I-134 Rev as of 7/14/06 expires on 4-30-07....I checked the new form from the website and it is 2/28/07 expires on 4-30-07.

I received my PACKET 4 TODAY! :D :dance: yippeeeyyyyy :dance: :D

DHL called me up at 1:20 P.M. informing me they just received something from the US Embassy for me and to be delivered on Monday.....so why wait on Monday......I went to DHL head office right away and pick-up my Packet 4 at 2:15 P.M..........

There are at least 20 or so express mails from the US Embassy in there (they let me take a peek at the box....hehehe).

Take a breathe fellows and watch out for a DHL van passing by at your area, it could be your Packet 4!!!!

Girls when do you plan to go for your medical exam at St. Luke's? I am looking at July 16 for me.

Notice/Reminders: Check your monthly period if it coincides with your medical appointment. Otherwise, St. Luke's will not allow you to have medical exam......I called them yesterday to confirm this and sure thing...."No Period" the guy from St. Luke's inform me. Do not forget ladies!

Summary

I arrived at St. Mary's in Cebu for the guidance and counseling at 7:15 A.M. and I am 8th on the list. They will accept 15 only. We were ushered inside the office at exactly 7:30 A.M. We were called one by one. Once called, submit photocopies of my and fiance's birth certificates, passports, (include marriage contract if married). I presented also original copies of these documents together with my 2 valid IDs with photographs. A form was given for me to fill-up. Once done, submitted and paid Php 250.00. Was called again for a picture shoot using a webcam. The picture will be printed on the blue certificate (like the NBI clearance). After all 15 are done, as a group we were ushered inside a room for orientation or guidance and counseling which ends at 12:00 noon. Afternoon session was the one on one counseling. If counselors finds you OK, you will get your blue certificate. I received my blue certificate at 3: 15 P.M. Next stop was CFO office (rode a taxi).

CFO: Make sure to photocopy your blue certificate and the receipt of the Php 250.00 from St. Mary's. I submitted my photocopies and presented the original copies at the counter. Paid Php 400.00 and wait...minutes later, I received my white certificate (looks white). If you already had your visa, they will stamp or put a sticker next/beside your visa/passport. I don't have my visa yet. I will come back to CFO to register once I will have my visa and show to them my certificates from St. Mary's and CFO as proof that I have completed the seminar....then they will stamp/put sticker to my visa/passport.

Arrived home at 4:30 P.M.....totally exhausted! :shocked:

But it was fun and I really enjoyed the guidance and counseling at St. Mary's. Talked and shared stories with the ladies too.


thanks for sharing this bien, i will be taking my cfo seminar in cebu also after my interview at least i now have an idea how it works more or less :thumbs:


Oh one more thing. If you don't live in Cebu or in Manila, it is best and wise if you take your CFO seminar once you have your visa in hand so that you don't have to come back and forth. That way you can save time and money. Besides the CFO thing can be completed within the day. Just make sure to come very early and be among the first 15 participants, go there before 7:30A.M., probably 7:00A.M.

I just called St. Mary Euphrasia Foundation-Center for Overseas Workers (SMEF-COW) here in Cebu and yes, we can attend the guidance and counseling even if we don't have our interview date yet.

SMEF-COW conducts the guidance and counseling program to Filipino spouses and other partners of foreign nationals. The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) issues the guidance and counseling certificate to clients who have satisfactorily completed the guidance and counseling requirements at SMEF-COW.

I will be going there tomorrow.

Just called the State Department (1-202-663-1225 option 1,0) and was informed that the packet 4 was sent out today, medical is scheduled for August 6th and the interview is scheduled for August 13!!! :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance:

Update:

Fiance called USEM from US and yes, our papers arrived in USEM May 18. The woman said that I am not yet scheduled for an interview or medical. However, when asked if she had any idea when would I be scheduled, she said probably sometime in August or September.... :crying: Whaaa...seems like forever! Packet will be sent a month before the scheduled interview.

anyone had a better news? please share....

Hi All,

I am new on VJ. Actually I just registered today but have been lurking the site for months now.... ;) I guess I belong to the February Filers having NOA1 on Feb. 1.

My fiance received NVC letter dated May 17 stating that NVC received our approved I-129F with our case number MNL200763xxxx, with a statement that within a week or so our papers be sent to USE in Manila. Called NVC to ask if our papers been sent to USEM already, been told it was sent May 16. :o

Now, we are waiting and waiting for any news if our papers did or did not arrived in USEM. Called USEM last week, spent the entire day getting nothing but "the person you are calling is engaged right now, call again later".....hehehe...it is long distance (I am from Cebu).

Fiance will try calling them tomorrow....hopefully he will get some good news. (L) :goofy: :jest:

Right now, I am going nuts from waiting...........

Hope to see each other when in Manila....Cebu is a long way.

I tried to time the submission of our paperwork so it gets approved next May/June. That way my mahal and her boy will come in the sumer time and get to gradually experience the cold. She is really worried about how cold it gets here in the Midwest (Indiana) and really can't understand how I go out hunting all day in freezing temps. LOL. I can just see them now, so bundled up in layers of clothing that they can't bend over to play in the snow...............LOL.

Here in Indianapolis, I have not been able to find a PhilAm group. Was looking so when she gets here next year, her and her son could make some friends that way. Did find a club called Barangay Club but it didn't seem like they do much. Maybe I was spoil when I was in Jacksonville NC and participated with the PhilAm there at Camp Lejeune.

I've agreed to cut down on my fall hunting when she gets here as long as she doesn't get involved with the birthday party crowd here. Come summer time you could not have a weekend to yourself if you get caught up with that group. Give and take...................I give away some of my hunting during the fall to take back some time this summer to keep golfing with the boys.
