Good morning all!

My friend in Las Vegas (also married a Jordanian) filed all her paperwork within 5 days of my I130 and I129F. She received approval for both petitions yesterday!! Dated Dec 10th.

The USCIS website did not update or reflect the approval. Also she did not receive an email from them!

I hope to be approved soon!! My WAC# is very close to hers!

I am so happy for her!!

I talked to USCIS California Customer Service Center yesterday They informed me that as of yesterday they were processing I130 applications received May 19, 2007. Also processing the I129F applications received on June 14, 2007.

My application was received in the mail room Sept 14th and was receipted by the CSC on October 31, 2007. Seems anything that goes through the mail will take one month or more before it is receipted. Mine has been touched two times but no NOA 2. My RFE was based on a expedite request filed in December 20th, followed on by an email requesting further information supporting it. I faxed and mailed the information. Waiting to hear.

They don't look at your expenses, just your income. If you are receiving child support and it's taxable, then you can claim it as income. I don't think it has to be court ordered.

Hey all,

I did the USCIS customer service voice-mail "trick" to get routed to someone who actually gave me helpful information! You guys I doubted ....oops, you were correct!

I pressed the buttons for "help with a problem or a request for more information." I reached a lady that answered "California Service Center." No one before has ever told me what office they are in, even after I asked!

Anyway, I told the lady I reached her because the online status showed activity May 11, so I pushed the voice mail numbers for an RFE. She typed for a few seconds and said "No RFE, your petition was approved May 10. And it was sent to the NVC on the 18th!" She also said USCIS is backed up, confirmations may not be sent out for 30 days after approval.

There is something I did not completely understand. She said we're approaching a four month deadline, everything is being rushed now, tell my fiancee to be ready to take care of her requirements. She will be receiving notice quickly. (Which she is, we've been ready since March)

Congratulations to all of us that suddenly busted through the January NOA1 wall!

Because the NVC received my application yesterday, I will try the RFE method tomorrow and see if they are aware of my NOA2/approval.


So USCIS didn't notify you either? How odd... according to the USCIS site, mine is also in processing and hasn't been updated since 5/4/2007, but I got my letter from the NVC today saying they were forwarding the petition to the embassy in Singapore. It shouldn't matter what the site shows, right? As long as the petition is continuing to where it needs to go?

That sounds correct to me. My first touch since a change of address Jan 30 was May 10. Then touched again May 11. I bet the first touch on the 10th was the review, the 11th was approval and it was then sent to NVC. USCIS has not updated their info system is all.

You may be able to get information regarding your case status using the method of KenGumbo and JenandBarney and the others. I think I made a mistake of not getting to the RFE guys via voice-mail. Because the NVC received my application yesterday, I will try the RFE method tomorrow and see if they are aware of my NOA2/approval. :devil:

Reading back through the past ten pages or so, I'm guessing that the "RFE trick" is to call and act like you got an RFE and try to figure out what the status is? I haven't contacted anyone at all yet; going by the dates on the website like I was, I thought it was going to be another three months before my application was processed. Then I come back here and find people with Feb. and Mar. NOA1s getting NOA2s, and us poor January people left behind :(

So no, I haven't done an RFE trick, but if you could elaborate on what it is / how to do it, I would be quite indebted to you :D



I wasn't really aware of a "trick." Several times I've called the customer service line at 800-375-5283, and said I haven't heard a thing for months. Has there been an RFE? Or because I moved, have notices gone to my old address? Then I'd hear a couple seconds of typing, and I'd be assured nothing has happened since my January 30 change of address. No RFE, no mailings, nada, nichee-voh, nool, non.

If I pushed the service rep a bit, I'd be reminded they are working on the October I-129fs, so I have a few months to wait.

Finally some movement on my case! I received 2 emails from CRIS stating that my RFE was received today and my last updated date changed to today! OMG, here's hoping for my NOA2! I did send my RFE info certified mail today but hey, never can be too careful right? Thank God and thanks to my VJ buddies!

I've done the same many times in weeks past. Their answer is always the same: "Received at CSC Jan 26. Address change Jan 30th. Application pending." I also asked about RFEs I may not have been notified of, and if our application has been seent to NVC. The reply is the same: "No RFE, and your application is still at CSC."

If you are the very few of Jan. filers with no touches or anything. I would call CSC and act like if you had received an RFE or even a NOA2....and ask them if they can give you the date it was mailed out. This will probably make the CSC officer spill her/his beans. They might say, well you dont have an RFE, or no NOA2. Or something of that nature. Or they might say we mailed your petition to NVC on such and such date. I say play with their minds until you get some clues on to whats going on with your approval.

I spoke with a very helpful woman at CSC using the RFE line. She gave me the status of my case completely and turned out to be very accurate. Yes, she read me the standard line also but I was able to "read between the lines" while talking to her. I kissed her butt, was very polite, and engaged in some dialogue. Keep trying, kiss ###, and listen for subtle hints. It worked for me. ;)

My I-129f was touched May 10 and again May 11. The only information I've been able to get from USCIS' 800 number is no RFEs, and NVC says they do not have my file.

What is CSC's RFE line??

We are still waiting for a touch on out I129F. And Friday is my birthday. First hers in April and now mine. No word...not even a tickle.

I called both USCIS and the NVC. USCIS has no new information, RFE or otherwise. Just the standard "We received your application... pending." NVC has not received my package from CSC yet.

I called CSC, my petition is still on the hold shelf. I asked the guy if he could light a fire under someone's butt but they are "untouchables"! lol He did say things are slow because of the work visas, a whole backlog of them. He also said he might go to another country to find the love of his life! lol He was nice.

How did you get someone at CSC to tell you your file is in a "hold" area? Or was he speaking only in general about a "hold" area? I've never gotten anyone at the USCIS customer service 1-800 number to do anything but read what I see on line: 'On January 26 we received your I-129f..."

It's great your application is moving forward, but I'm surprised how little new information a congressman's influence gets. Your information helps us, though. My last touch was May 11, two weeks will be next Friday, May 24th. Thank you for posting the update.

I should have flown "Ski" to Mexico last December, then just drove across the border. She could have full U.S. citizenship before the general elections November 2008! :lol: :lol:

The lady from my congressman's office called to tell me that she spoke with CSC and the lady was nice and told her it can take about 2 weeks to enter my RFE information and update my account. The lady told her to call again next Friday.
