just needed to know a few thins regarding I-134 & I-864 evidence of support.........
My tobe wife is a retired business management teacher.She earns $15000 from the teachers disability group ( as she retired due to some physical problems) and makes some from her self earning from classes which together makes , $23,000 after tax deductions.As far as i know for Ohio state $17,000 /yr is 125% above poverty level !! So wd her income wd be o for signing the I-134 and I-864 ?? she is single with no dependants !!

Meriem_setif is kind enough to write the following on Jul 2 2006, 09:50 PM .

"I am on Social Security Disability due to a severe back injury. When I first sent in the petition I was worried about the I -134 and my ability to be a sponsor by myself. I could not find much information about this on Visa Journey or anywhere else. For those that are on SS Disability it can be used for basis of support for the I-134 affidavit of Support, if it is above the required amount set by the poverty guidelines. My son also gets benefits from social security because he is a minor living in my household, I was able to include this income also. Also I get child support which is court ordered with a withholding order signed by a judge. The money is taken by my ex's employer and payed to me. I was able to use this also. Ok, for the interview I used the original benefit award statements for mine and my son's benefits. I also used the new benefit statements we received in January 2006. I dont have to pay income tax on these benefits so I did not have tax returns. I emailed the embassy about this and they said to write a statement that explains why I do not have to file income tax. I wrote the statement and quoted some information from the Soc. Sec. website that explains why I do not have to file. I included a copy of the withholding order for child support. I had my bank letter with my deposits for one year. I included the last 12 bank statements that showed my benefits direct deposited into my account. It was all accepted by the embassy and we got our visa without a co-sponsor. "

Well I have a problem and I need suggestions. My fiancee visited me only once in March, 07 for two weeks. Then we had a small engagement ceremony at my place. But the main problem is that at that time her divorce was not finalized. It will be finalized on 20th June 07.
I have pics of engagement ceremony. My question is should we send those pics with the I-129F petition. Or should we send the pics of us together only.
We have to file the I-129F petition within next two weeks.

And If we send those pics with petition then should I show the engagement pics at the visa interview. My interview will happen at New Delhi Embassy.
I guess they will freak out when they come to know that her divorce was not finalized.Even we were aware of that we exchanged engagements rings. I guess they will reject me. :crying:

Should I hide the engagement info or not. Please help me out. I'm scared right now.

Hi everyone,
I also have a problem regarding my Birth Certificate. For that I even sent an email to US Embassy in Delhi. And they said that I should tell my problem to consular officer and bring a supporting document.

Anyways this is my problem.

My problem is that I have ORIGINAL BIRTH certificate but in that my Name and Date of Birth(DOB) is different from the Date of Birth displayed in my Passport and Matric (10th class) certificate which displays your DOB. So if I send my Original Birth certificate with the documents then that date will not match with my the Date displayed on my passport. My parents changed the date when I was in 8th class. Its not my fault. And from that moment on I have been using the same Date Of Birth on all my forms and certificates. I don't show my Original Birth Certificate anywhere and whereever I have been asked for my birth certificate there I show my Matric certificate.

And in India when a child is born he gets his real name after 15 days or 1 month. Thats how things works in India. I have my voter's id and ration card to support my name.

So please tell me what should I do? Your help will be really appreciated.

I can't beleive it! I was so depressed last night about not being with my fiance, then I wake up to check my email to find 3 emails from the UCIS saying our petition was approved!

I was an October 12th NOA1

Yes. This did happen to me! My case was approved on April 12th and did not reach the NVC. Finally on May 30th (after multiple enquieries at the USCIS field office) I was told that my case was at the National Records Centre. Unfortunately, what this means is that instead of sending the file to the NVC, they either misplaced the application or sent the application to the archives along with the rest of your file.

Of course, I did not know about this and kept waiting because the field office MISINFORMED me that this was normal and that my case will be forwarded SOON!!!! Finally, after another month of multiple enquieries, the USCIS field office and the congressmans office made the National Records Centre physically check my file for the application and surprise surprise, it was missing (June 30th).

So I had to submit a photocopy of my entire application package for them to reconstruct the case. My case was approved a second time on Sep 9th.

So I woukld urge you to contact your congressmans office and ask them to call the Service Centre and make them physically go through your file. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL FIND OUT ABOUT YOUR CASE...BELIEVE ME. Make them PHYSICALLY look in to your file.

Any time your file doesnt reach the NVC within 3-4 weeks of approval, something was messed up at the USCIS.

Best of Luck for the interview. I dont know which hotels will be great near the Embassy. I know the Mahalaxmi temple oppositte VFS( Inside the Swaminaryan Temple) has some rooms for people to stay . You wanna call them and find it out. Pay all fees required by the VFS. Ask the VFS if you can collect the Passport same or next day. I did medicals at Breach Candy, you can read my expereince I had posted long time ago. I had paid around Rs. 2300. VFS has a list of all documents you need to take and also you might have got it from the Interview packet which documents you need to submit

I know it really hurts... you feel like.. not living only.... When in this world.. we live by tiem lines... fast foood... and stuff./.. where internet has given us world information on our fingertips... but still the process is slow.. I guess its slow becos of lots of applications... then they want to test the patience of couples... and more or less they want to know how genuine the applications are....... I hope we get our life partners ASAP.... i wish atleast they use Express post / Overnight mail service for sending paper .... I am sure it will reduce time by 50 %

I could just help her out by finding jobs for her online... applying for them.. and so that she can go and give interviews and stuff... it made life easier for her... a bit... Lol.. i did a bit of grocery shopping for her.. so she aint have to pick them up too.. and all is delievered at the house when she is back home...

I am seeeing manmy filers who were stuck in the processing stage getting a fresh life as they are near completion. We memebers have faced enough stress because our cases were delayed because hike in fees. I hope now there is no problem for all of us and future filers too. God bless us all... I can imagine the stress level... which leads to immense frustration and feeeling of hating our selves.... and cursing god .... why he is doing all this and why we have to stay away from or loved ones.... My this thread has nothing to do with the legal visa process. I dont know whether i should post this in here. But i want to share my heart. Due to this long process and when it gets delayed due to unnecessary reasons... there is so much stress between me and my wife. My kids miss me a lot. they take my name all the time. I wonder what happens between other couples / relationships... I and my wife have decided not to talk about the NVC and not even take its name in our chats and conversation. It makes all of us frustrated isnt it.... I was about to break my cell phone the other day....... There is no concentration at work...... Our mind is always locating and searching our papers in our NVC offices in our own imaginations.


I wonder what others feeel.... God bless you alll & I hope the next week will bring good news for all of us who are having endless waits....Jigi

It will still take a while.Your projected timeline even says June, which may or may not be the case.

my wife got a letter from delhi embassy saying please submit your passport at nearest vfs office so that we can complete the processing of your case. so does this mean they are going to issue her the visa? she submitted her passport on 7th june. how long does it usually take to get the passport back. anybody with similar experience please share. the letter does not say anything about visa but only to submit passport. i called dos and funny thing is they say its still pending in ap and visa is not issued yet .they wont give me any other information. they know nothing about the letter.
