i will list the dates what i got get ..... and please help me what to enter where in my time line... i am kind of new to this... actually Like a novice.

Feb 4 - I-130 accepted > Get USCIS case Number
May 8 - GET NVC Case Number
June 16 - Get Order from NVC to pay 70$
July 2 - Get DS-3032 in India
July 7 - DS-3032 choice of address agent entered in NVC
July 14 - Get I-864
July 18 - I-864 Enters NVC
July 29 - Get Order to Pay 380$ fee
Aug 3 - 380$ Fee Reached St louis
After that WAITING

hey guys

I am in the same boast as you all are.. mine is california service centre... ia m going to take up the NVC now.. no matter if it gets delayed.. where the hell did my first payment go... why shall i cancel my first payment and then again send second one.. there my wife shouts on me.. i wont pay 34$ charges and all charges which will run upto 80 $ again .... i am so mad on my wife, my destiny and luck and OFCOURSE NVC>.... GOD HELP ME >> HELP US

sorry if yr wife is indian citizen and u r USC and u hv applied for ir-1 visa or c r-1 then u cant get another visa.. not even tourist visa as yr one file is in process.. it may give wrong signal to visa centre if you get tourist visa before ir-1 .. in this matter u can meet any visa consultant for further inquiry. or check the FAQ of VJ

yr wife have to pay the courier fees at VFS prior to 10 days of interview at ahmedabad along with documents , like if she has interview date june 15 than count 10 days before june 15th except saturday and sunday..and holidays .. and go to ahmedabad ...u can call at VFS ahmedabad for more info abt when to go..they will give you receipt for payment.

and then, take the receipt along with other docs to mumbai on the day of interview.. yes u can get visa on same day so u can book ticket of 17th..

yr wife has to pay courier fees at vfs only its around 394 Rs..... and u can collect visa on same day between 5 to 6 pm ... chk the step three for visa collection...

Hi Everyone...its been a long wait...my I-130 was filled in march 2007 by my US husband who was a permanent resident at that time. He became a USC on dec 5th 2008 and upgraded my I-130 in jan 2009...we have not received our NOA2 and approval yet...kinda getting worried now..especially when I see people finishing their cases in less than 6months.

Our case is with VSC.Any advise or help will be greatly appreciated.This wait has been too long.

hey thanks again but u know am so paranoid about this whole process that i need to see it on the US website to be sure,and unfortunately i see that onm teh mumbai us consulate site BUT WHY IS THE SAME PARAGRAPH NOT IN THE CHENNAI US CONSULATE SITE?????

BTW i called the chennai embassy just now and a lady who did not disclose her name said 'it will be valid for 1 yr frm teh date of issue' HOWEVER its safe if its within 6months on teh date of interview coz tht may reduce your visa period.I todl her mine is IR visa.

hey Shamim,

I also noticed that the Mumbai embassy has changed from Standard processing to Appointment NVC processsing after a VJ friend asked me what docs to submit with the DS-230.

I guess same must be for Bangladesh. I think you should rely on the website.

One more thing you have to send the originals OR certified notarised copies.This for sure for the Mumbai Embassy. I would advice you dont send anythin in original. Its better to send notarised photocopies of the originals Even if they need only the page of passport copy in their processing at NVC office they will throw all the notarise copy of docs you have sent ..... which wont do you any harm as you still have the ORIGINALS with you.

BUT

If you just send the page of passport and then you get an RFE to send the rest of the docs... your process willl be more delayed. So its better you do what the Website says rather than listening to the operator. Thats what I feel. Another reminder... send the notarised photocopies and not the originals.

It depends on the Embassy which is perfectly right... See my time line below and you will see how many days it takes for the case to travel from NVC to Embassy. If my memory is not wrong ... it took 23days for the case to rewach the embassy and finalise my interview date. I got a Interview date 6 weeks later on. If your case was complete on dec 20... My calculation says your Interview would be around 15 Feb to 25 Feb.

You can go at the same time. For PCC with the passport office.. you will have to fill out a MISC form 2 asking for a PCC for USA... they will take ur original passport, light bill or phopne bill, school or college leaving certificate, Ration card ( if Any), xerox copy of ur passport and PAn Card copy or driving license copy, Passport size photograph and a fee of Rs300. You will get the PCC with the passport in mail in 7 working days.

Same documents are required for the PCC from local police authority.

Go to the chandigarh passport office and give them application for PCC from their office.

From the Commissioners Office ,

You do one thing tell your hubby to scan his passport andn residence proof( any utility bill) and send it to you or if he can send you by mail tell him to do so. The first option to scan it and email you so u can print it here will be very good with which u can attach ur documents and obtain PCC from local authority.

Mention in application both the places you need PCC for USA clearly

I can imagine you want to plan out the tickets tooo ... Mostly the embassies if all is clear mail out the passport which is delivered in 3 days. In some embassies like in India we can collect same day in the evening
