K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurestouched for a second day in a row!

I am still very early in the process but I did NOT send a copy of her BC because it has an error on it.

However, I did send a copy of the first 2 pages and last page of her passport. I would hope that is enough because she needed her BC, NBI and local Police Clearances to get the passport in the first place.

For myself I sent a copy of my BC (front and back) and copies of every single page of my passport which expires in 09 so I did not meet the "valid for 5 years" requirement on that.

Valid for 5 years? Well in canada the passeport they deliver is ONLY good for 5 years. Received it in Jan 06 so no matter what its never good for 5 years...4 years 1/2 for me... But besides, a lot of people got approved with no RFE. So I wish you good luck :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiancee visa or not

Its just a scam. Promise you will return, get allowed in and then come here and get some naive person who has never had attention all their life, blow up their ego and smother them with warmth and at the right time, run away from them.

Maybe you are a naive person. If you petitioned a K-1 for a foreign fiance(e), well im really sad for her/him that you think stuff like that. You shouldnt deserve that somebody leaves all his family, friends and country to be with you. And if you have something against people that are immigrating in the US, why do you even bother with a K-1.....

I will never get how some people think sometimes. But yeah , you are just a f....troll that tries to create conflicts on this board and I've no idea why I even bothered replying to you, I guess it just feels good to write what I think. :bonk:

I wish your fiance(e) will wake up before its too late!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresuscis approval delay
To the OP, you also have to consider that people that have been approved from the end of june, july and august have filled their K-1 with the new form, which in my opinion would explain why they are being approved before. There is no RFE for most of them and the processing is probably faster. I dont think they do it that much "randomly". Im really sure that both old forms and new forms are not being processed by the exact same people. I know most of the people that have filled before June don't really believe this because I know it must be frustrating to see all other approvals....but heh for me its an evidence.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAre computer guys slacking off?
Thats possible....I might be reading a little late sometimes so I'm sure my short term memory is letting go some of the informations I'm reading...rofl

But now that you mention it it tells me something. Me and my fiance started our process back in december 2004, had to wait for a divorce decree before filling the K-1... So its getting long and the past month have been very hard on me and I'm getting depressed a little more easily. But knowing that so many people close to my NOA1 got approved lately, its just a bummer that I cant really check for updates because of that. This NOA2 is gonna be a huge huge huge relief for me. Im tired of people asking me when I am gonna leave for USA lol. Can't wait to move on...

Thanks :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAre computer guys slacking off?
Sorry just edited my post cause reading back my topic it could be confusing about NOA2. I DID NOT received my NOA2 by any kind of mean, i'm just asking a question about it.....lol Sorry for the confusion. So back to my original post...

Seems like there is a bunch of people this week that received their NOA2 via snail mail but never received any e-mail or any updates on the USCIS website.Since im the canadian one, hes the one checking the mail everyday, but I was getting a little satisfaction to know that I would get updates or e-mail myself...

Now seems like it doesnt matter anymore because they are not updating it anymore for some reason, they do it for the touches, but nothing about approvals....

Anyone else a little frustrated about the non efficiency of the so useful case status on USCIS? :P

Wow Great news. Thanks for sharing. I'm right behind you in the line. :P Congratulations

 There's a line? If so, then it's not a straight line and people are not being approved in any order of when they "lined up". There are still March, April, May, June and July people still waiting.. and there are still people in August who filed sooner (August 10 in my case) and we're still waiting for approval. So there is definitely NOT a line. I think it's just like someone said way earlier... USCIS just tosses the applications in the air and those that stick to the roof are the ones that are approved and the rest have to wait until the next time.

But Congrats to those who did get approvals. Not their fault if they got their approvals before others. Just their luck to have "sticky" applications.

Last time im gonna say something about it....hey its my thread!!! People who filed before June got the old form and CSC are catching up to those cases anyways. And yeah there is an order in which they receive our case.....doesnt mean its the order they are getting approved. Dont you know that every case is different, some got more informations to check than others. Every case is unique. But hey I got my approval and im happy. Im sorry for all the people that didnt receive theirs and hope they are going to get it soon. But there is nothing more i can do about it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTo everyone that got NOA2 e-mail on Nov 2

The main thing is to have an NOA2 in the mail (in hand). The USCIS is not known for being real good about sending out notices promptly and accurately on their web site. As long as you have an NOA2 in your hot little hands that is the most important. In my case they finally posted the notice on their web site more than two weeks after I had received the NOA2.

Now that you have the NOA2 finished, get the remainder of your paperwork together. Someone else is waiting too, you know.

Dont worry about my paperwork everything is already ready for embassy just need to add medical and !-134 in the packet, but
When you say someone else is waiting too.....who do you refer to ? I think i missed something...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTo everyone that got NOA2 e-mail on Nov 2
Ok well....i re-read the e-mail and it says "on Nov 2 an approval notice was mailed....."

Alright algright, do the approval date is not close to the date they put in the e-mail unless they send the NOA2 the same day it is approved.

Any clarification, anyone?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTo everyone that got NOA2 e-mail on Nov 2
I know a lot of people got approved in mid October as per snail mail NOA2. A lot of them received an approval e-mail on Nov 2 that they said was there second approval...!?!?!?

Heres my pattern.

Oct 31 Touched on USCIS website
Nov 2 Approval e-mail (3 times)
Nov 6 Received NOA2 in snail mail......date of approval is Oct 31 on it.....

So, as I understand, its like USCIS sent a huge batch of e-mail on Nov 2, including the ones from mid october that never received one, but most of them had the wrong date as per real NOA2.

So the other people that got approved last week check your NOA2 with you will get it in snail mail...im curious. So now for me NOA2 is officially Oct 31 not Nov 2. I knew it was odd that suddenly eveyone was getting approved on the same day...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTwo NOA2s
I just noticed that this week ( have an approval e-mail for Nov 2 and received snail mail with NOA2 dated Oct 31)

The e-mail that USCIS sends to us is not the Approval date e-mail......if you read carefully it says

On Nov 2 AN APPROVAL NOTICE WAS MAILED

It does mean that you are approved but it doesnt say that you have been approved on Nov 2........

The approval date is the one showed on the NOA2 that you will receive at home.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed Help on problem
me and my fiance thought about hiring a lawyer to do it for us......for around 1700$-2500$.

Thats before I found VJ :D

We finally took care of it ourselves and got a K-1 petition approved without any RFE and my petition is on its way to the embassy as we speak.

Save yourself a lot of worries and money by sending it. And I wish you success with the process :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOngoing relationship
Completely out of subject. But me and my fiance were hesitating for the last month either if I should visit him or not for christmas time. It was the only way we could see each other because he has kids and of course he has to stay with them for the holidays.

Im from canada, waiting for my packet 4 so we are pretty close to the end.

So reading your posts all just made me decided that I would try to go no matter what. Its worthed to try to spend my first holidays with my love and my future family. The worst thing would be that I'll spend the holidays the way it was supposed to be in the first place...

Thanks all to have helped me open my eyes and take the risk. Im sure its going to be fine with all my papers prooving that I am actually going through the legal way, and with my return flight and my work letter its all good.

Mephys, an happy VJer for christmas time! :goofy:

Same as everybody else. We searched for an attorney until we found VJ. Did it all by ourselves, waiting for an interview date now and no RFE :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAre we too poor to be in love?
the K-1 process takes many months, for us it was 8 months, so I guess you could start putting money aside maybe for her plane ticket to come and for the cost of the K-1 + AOS once she is here? The summer is here soon and if you can find another job while your classes are off maybe it could be enough ?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresworried sick about my K1 Visa:( any guidance anyone?

ok, so clearly the view here is to not use an attorney. I've just heard that it's near impossible to get the paperwork approved for a visa for a girl from Thailand. If my package was to get denied, it would only add more time because I'd have to redo the entire thing and resubmit it.

Plus, this attorney provides "coaching" for her interview...which I've been told can be pretty awful for Thai girls. Also, she used to be a "bargirl" which will have to be covered properly in the interview so as to avoid disapproval. Most girls in Thailand who work in a bar are considered to be prositutes immediately, and then denied US visa.

What do you guys think of this attorney's site/services? www.mythaifiancee.com

I think when you say impossible you might be talking about visitor's visa? There are member's on VJ that brought a Fiancee from Thailand. I did a little search and there is matt85 that recently got married with his fiancee from thailand. You may want to ask him and others

thanks for all the replies so far everyone...its definitely easing my anxiety...a little

so will having the attorney do all my paperwork for me and double check everything make the process go a little faster?? is 5-6 months a reasonable expectation??

Having your attorney do all your paperwork and double check everything will not make the process go faster. As a large number of people on here have discovered, it has actually caused the process to go slower. You're better off doing your own research here on VJ and doing it yourself, because you're the only person who has the most interest in ensuring your fiancée receives her visa in a timely manner..... your attorney's interest is financial.

Yep and you can save yourself a good 2000$...

I would say usually the cases tend to take more time with an attorney because its an additional step, mail has to be sent to them and then they advice you if anything. When you file yourself you receive everything directly. I've also heard of some people missing their interview at the embassy because the attorney received the letter and he was on vacation for 2 weeks so they got the notice too late.....etc Hope you have a good one.

As for the 5-6 months, I would not hope too much on that. 4-5 months is sometimes the time it takes for the petition to be approved and sent to the embassy...and sometimes you have to wait a long time to get the actual interview date. I dont know about the embassy in Thailand but just for an example, Montreal ( canada) as a wait of 4 to 7 months before they give you an interview date.

Good luck!

Maybe so, but it is important for the OP to understand that a I-129 petition for Alien Worker and an I-129F petition for Alien Fiance(e) are two very differet animals. Improperly using terminology (particularly acronyms) will get one wrong answers.

True

My USCIC is Nebraska...and it's showing that they are just processing cases from May of 2006. That's over a YEAR ago. So does this mean it takes them a YEAR to just process through my petition??? That seems like FOREVER.

I would like to know where you read that Nebraska is processing I-129F's for K-1 dated May 2006 as they do not report I-129F processing dates and have not done so for quite some time.

He probably looked at the general list with all the cases since they dont have K-1....
