(well for me it is still six days it is 1141 pm ROFL!) I am sitting and watching the Big redneck wedding and I swear Some of these folks are really BACKWOODS! they remind me of my Fathers side of the family. They live in some small town outside of Crossville Tenn ..with a population of 500+ ROFL... This one couple was trying to make homemade wine...They bought some Grapes and stompped on them and seemed disapointed when it did not taste like wine but like grape juice ROFL!! I read that you have to get a license a month before you get married. Do you have to both be there in person to apply for it or can your USC fiancé do it by himself? Or is it all done by mail? Do you have to show birth certificates etc the day you get married or when you apply for marriage license? I realize it may differ for different states. I will be living in California. I'm just a bit confused about the process. I was hoping we could get married pretty much straight away but won't be able to, if you have to wait a month for the license. OKAy I will help you will California marriage LOL It is recommended that you call the California County or City Clerk's office to see if they suggest setting an appointment. You could find yourselves in a long line with as much as a 2 hour wait without an appointment in some California locales. California requires a picture id such as Drivers License or other valid identification. Some counties recommend bringing certified copies of your birth certificates. You do not have to be a resident of California to apply for a marriage license there. Information you need to know before you start filling out the marriage license application: Where each of your parents were born (city and state) The names of your parents including your mother’s maiden name Previous Marriages: You must show proof of divorce, death or annulment. You need to bring a copy of your final divorce decree if you have divorced within the 90 days through past year (varies by county). California Waiting Period: There is no waiting period in California. Fees: It will cost you $45.00+ to get married in California. The cost of receiving a marriage license varies from county to county and some California counties will only accept cash ... so don't leave home without some cash! (my ex would NOT give me one and we were separated for over a year HE was and still is with my sons ex girlfriend..THE MOM OF OUR GRANDCHILD!!!) I want them to understand we have been through HELL to be together and overcame so many obstacles. We have become so strong and he is one of the most amazing men I have ever met. I never have felt so blessed! My children and sisters (even my son in law and future daughter in law ) are writing letters to the embassy telling them that they are in full support of our relationship. they offered and let me tell you, THEY never liked ANYONE I dated ROFL!! Sorry about going on like this. I just miss him and it has been a LONG day. We lost a resident I love a few days ago where I work and I did not handle it to well. I been working my Honey OFF I lost 71 lbs in almost 6 months JUST from working and sweating LOL I work in the laundry room and housekeeping so I am busy busy busy there. when I started I was 295 lbs. and now I am 224. I feel SO good. I am about 20 lbs smaller then when he was here and he just is in shock..Says he loves me no matter the size..BUT I do not want to be a huge bride. I want to be a HEALTHY one..chubby or NOT. LOL ANYWAY enough of my babbling!!! I love you all my July sister and brothers. I would not expect Oct or november (you are not a july filer you are actually August, even though you mailed it OFF in july your NOA1 is dated for august) I looked at last years AUgust filers and the beginning of august was not until the MIDDLE Of Deceber. SO I would NOT get excited about what your time line ays. IT could be the time line time it could be a little early OR it could be a month later. ( it has been known to that.) The best advice is BE PATIENT and expect around feb or march for your sweetie to be home I know we all want our babies home..SOON ALL SOON. I been praying HARD for us! HUGS HUGS HUGS! Sometimes I think that the process at both service centres have no rhyme or reason. Some people get approved after 4 months, while other can wait 6 months and even longer. sorry that there are no firm dates anyone can give you for your approval. But it does seem that generally, forms filed at vermont centre usually are processed quicker than csc. Hang in there! it won't be long until you are together again! AWW thanks sweetie!! I remember when he came to see me and it was Valentines. He never had a Prom so I made our home in the living room like a prom LOL I made a disco ball out of foil and those HUGE styrofoam balls and had Songs from his senior year playing..We had gone out to eat at this amazing restaurant and my son and his girl were there LOL..Kai was soooooo green ROFL..He proposed to me and my son and others clapped... Having a reference to call is so important for getting hired, and volunteering definitely offers that, plus something on your resumé for a lengthy period of time. You might check out the local Humane Society/SPCA or local animal shelter. They pretty much always need help, and I can say from personal experience that it's very gratifying to help save an animal's life. Thanks for your response, it was a big AH HA for me! Fantastic Idea! I was also going to say The salvation army needs volunteers as well. St vincent DePaul is wonderful along with the YWCA or YMCA. Even the libraries need volunteers!! I miss Kai's smell..I know it sounds weird..BUT sometimes I can smell him and its been over a year since we been physically together!! I think I would go insane if it was not for the web cam or Mic. I have OFFICIALLY broken the Mic AGAIN...SIGH..so 4 this month already!! I think tomorrow when I get paid I will buy 5 and use that for our interview!! LOL I think the IRS should also reimburses anyone who has to get a visa and who has broken a million headsets for chatting LOL It will get better I know. I have read on here a few folk have been WAY over a year ours is 1 year 5months...i found one person at almost 2 years. I know a lady who lives in Australia and she waited up to 3 for here indian Hubby to come be with her in OZ. they got to visit one time! they been together a total of 10 years!!! ROFL...mostly talking though on the phone and webcam/voice chat. NOW they been married almost 2 years and so damn happy! So if they can do it WE can do it!! You guys are complaining about 75 days and no touch!! Are you kidding me? The six to eight months that it takes to gain citizenship in the greatest country on earth is a blink of an eye. Stop complaining that your instant gratification appetites aren't being satisfied over night and start appreciating the fact that you have a chance to live in the USA. Personally, I can't wait to get to the US and I miss my fiance very much. But I know I am going to be there soon. But before I get there, I refuse to have a negative attitude about my new homeland. Chill out people! It's 3 more months! You'll survive, trust me. First of all, this is MY country, and one of the things I appreciate about it is my FREEDOM OF SPEECH. I can say what I wish about my country, and I think I have every right to complain about a broken system. Second, nobody invited you here to pick on people. We're all here to support each other through a long wait. If you don't like what is being said here, exercise your own right to BUTT OUT. Third, you should spend more time reading up about this process. K1 has nothing to do with US citizenship. And the long waits have nothing to do with making the process better in any way, shape, or form. The long wait between NOA1 and 2 (approval) is primarily because USCIS doesn't have enough manpower for the job. So, I'm rightfully angry that I'm waiting around while my file is sitting in storage. Don't dare to judge me or my friends here in this thread when you haven't even educated yourself as to what this process is, or bothered to fill in a timeline, or even to read the MANY POSITIVE POSTS IN THIS THREAD. Finally, if you decide to contribute to this thread, please be respectful of everyone and don't jump to conclusions. We're a supportive group, and everyone has difficult times during our long wait. Some people have been apart a very long time, and it hurts. Be kind, or please don't bother posting here. Just like your country, my country has freedom of speech as well. So I think I also have every right to express how you people are (i donot want to be speicific). This is not a private site so unless you can kick me out here, that is fine. Third, you should spend more time reading up about this process. K1 has nothing to do with US citizenship. And the long waits have nothing to do with making the process better in any way, shape, or form. The long wait between NOA1 and 2 (approval) is primarily because USCIS doesn't have enough manpower for the job. So, I'm rightfully angry that I'm waiting around while my file is sitting in storage. Don't dare to judge me or my friends here in this thread when you haven't even educated yourself as to what this process is, or bothered to fill in a timeline, or even to read the MANY POSITIVE POSTS IN THIS THREAD. Finally, if you decide to contribute to this thread, please be respectful of everyone and don't jump to conclusions. We're a supportive group, and everyone has difficult times during our long wait. Some people have been apart a very long time, and it hurts. Be kind, or please don't bother posting here. Just like your country, my country has freedom of speech as well. I also am helping my sister and her 2 kids. they are living here until she can get a job..Its been tight. she started a displaced homemaker class and I am so proud of her. She has been drug free for over 2 years!! She might have a job so lets hope!! it looks good. She is also signed up for section 8 and other low income housing NOW I have a question and HOPEFULLY someone can answer this. I am claiming my neice and nephew on this years taxes as I will get more back then she will. This way it will give us about 1500 for us and the rest to her (extimated 3 to 4grand) so she can get her own car and a place with it. I know I will probably have to show those taxes after we are married. SO how do I explain I only took care of them for 6 months and am no longer doing this????? ANYWAY I will be practicing my cake stuff on tuesday at home so I can get out of this job after he is home and get into a better one, doing something i love!! I also got our bouquet and I am so stoked I put it in our album on here (NOW that I got the dang thing figured out. This lady made the bouquet and his flower for 20 bucks (found her on ebay) and the others which will be the flower girl basket, tossing and maid of honor bouquet, best mans flower and the corsage for my daughter all for 50! Those older folks make me laugh though and make being sore MUCH better. I got my Veil in the mail today and tried it on at work ROFL...Everyone was wanting to touch it and a few of the girls who work in the kitchen have offered to help serve food and make some dishes to help us out. I was so tickled and touched by this offer! I looked on the Calender today and I felt better for some weird reason! I thought OMG!! It is not long now and he will be home so I have to start busting my butt and finish painting the inside of the house!! LOL SO I am doing the rest of the ceiling on monday (its a soft mint green) so THAT is done...IT goes AWESOME with the pine herringbone slats I put in the living room and I found paint for 99 cents!!! I found it at a place called The Habitat house. People donate left over building supplies and sell them for heaps cheap!! I have to get a dryer and a stove next though on the 15th WE need one BAD!! anyway enough of me babbling ( I swear I babble more then an older lady who lost her dentures on a roller coaster!)
