Well....immediately after I posted this topic I checked both Igor's list (I was #99) AND the official USCIS website I found out my NOA2 was approved October 7th, so I answered my own question. Now we all know Igor's list is a pretty accurate representation of wait times. I suppose once you are in the top 100 your NOA2 can come at any time! Good luck all and hope my topic helped someone else wow.gif

On to the next step of many more........

QUOTE (maliciant @ Oct 9 2008, 12:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The USCIS date serves a different purpose than to tell you when it may be done, it also serves to tell you when you are allowed to start nagging them about it and asking your local senator to crawl up their butt, so they have extra incentive to keep their processing date farther back. Basically if you aren't out of their processing time, you can't really do anything about it, it's cut and dry, once you are outside of that time, you grant you permission to get answers of some kind I guess.

EXACTLY!

if anything YOU should follow your timeline, even though some folks get it early or after that said timeline estimate (however this estimate is about Vj people and not ALL of what uscis gets)

so deep down I just follow igors list and my timeline...why? ONE i get some sort of estimate and two it makes me feel a WHOLE lot better lol

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsRFE again!!!
I understand your frustration, BUT if your fiancé read that YOU were ready to give up if this fails, would DEVASTATE them.
I think you would be hurt to. Although I know you did not mean it, it makes us upset as well who are going through this frustration WITH you and to see someone post *help me to know when i should need to give up on this???* it hurts us as well and makes us NOT want to take the ones we love for granted.
True love comes only once in a lifetime. You can go through life loving many..but REAL true love is rare. I know I would FIGHT for Kai but never would I give up.

Hang in there and stop saying things like that. The whole visa thing is FRUSTRATING for ALL of us. Hang in there...it will turn out wonderful. You all forgot something is all so BREATHE..

I have 21 year difference and others have ones that are bigger then MINE and they got a visa JUST fine.
It sounds to me you both might have forgotten something. Age is not a factor for the visa. I remember calling immigration on this and they do not care as long as it is a bonafide relationship and you have proof

K1 VISA DELAYS
In a time of great controversy over foreign residents, the legal immigration process is considered slow and underfunded. A review of 1,899 K-1 Visas showed that the average wait from initial filing to a Consular interview is 210 days[3] (as of August 1st, 2008), with more delays possible after the interview. However, this is considered an improvement over the old-style spousal visas

So being a huge nerd, I decided to look this up. Turns out there are a number of states that still allow registration for this election:

Alabama (10 days)
California (15 days)
Connecticut (1 day)
Delaware (20 days)
Iowa (10 days)
Kansas (15 days)
Maine (Election Day)
Maryland (21 days)
Massachusetts (20 days)
Minnesota (Election day)
New Hampshire (10 days)
New Jersey (21 days)
North Dakota (no voter registration)
Oregon (21 days)
South Dakota (15 days)
Utah (15 days)
Vermont (6 days)
West Virgina (20 days)
Wisconsin (20 days)
Wyoming (Election Day)

Of course, I'm not sure if someone is immediately able to vote after approval at the service center level--does it have to go anywhere else? So much to learn!

I was able to register here in Idaho last week. Many people were not registered (including myself..thought I was like a dork)

SO this statement very well could make complete sense!
QUOTE
Hi everybody (including Daisy and I) that is waiting for any news,
My brother-in-law works for homeland security. He said that USCIS has dedicated the majority of its resources toward the citizenship applications due to the up coming election. Apparently a lot of groups had petitioned and complained that the backlog was too long and that many recent immigrants will be cheated out of the opportunity to vote November 4th. In two weeks the resources will be reshuffled and the immigration processing will kick into high gear. Basically its going to continue to be slow until the end of October. I would complain, but I would want Daisy to be able to share in the election process as well.
Good luck to us all!!

I just want everyone to have a speedy and EASY journey so we can just be happy with our sweeties:(

Can anyone please help me to know what is going on? I am soo discouraged/confused?? What does all this mean? Worse or better? I received my NOA1 Sept 15 and now waiting through the Vermont center. I've already done my timeline! I guess my question is, is this good or bad? Helping or hurting the wait? Any input would be great!

You've really only been waiting a month, although I am sure it seems longer. From your timeline..

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between January 20, 2009 and February 3, 2009*.

I was just going to post this but I see you beat me to it.

Patience is your friend. You have to realize that you will not get your noa2 that fast. The noa2 is the LONGEST part of this whole visa . You need to figure that you will get your noa2 between 3 to 5 months.
YES it is fustrating, Trust me we ALL understand that, but CSC and VSC get tons of visas from all over (we are only a tiny amount of what they get) It will take time.
Be Patient and keep busy!! It will go fast I swear. We are already a little over 3 months so we have between 1 to 2 months left until Kai and I see them approve the 2cd part.
So we stay busy by preparing and buying things for our wedding and saving money for future things we would love to do.

breathe it will be okay:)smile.gif good.gif

COOL! and hope your journey is smooth..now remember the approval for the second part will take MONTHS..do not expect it to be 2 or 3 months..try 4 to 5 maybe even 6 or 7 months for it. Patience is your friend and stay REALLY busy.

I am so excited for you!!!!
do not forget to make your time line and also set up your account when you get your noa1 received. When it comes in the mail there will be on the top part of the page a W something number. Put that in the site on USCIS.GOV and you can check your status when it closer to an approval date:) kicking.gif good.gif

PhilippinesAffidavit of Support I-134 only needs 100%

I'm not insisting on 100%, I'm insisting on what the requirement is... Aren't we here for what the law says? Aren't we here for the facts? well, if you think this will only be for the Philippines, then so be it but i least we have a clear answer on this.

No we are not here for what the "law" is. We are here hoping to gain Knowledge and Wisdom in the pursuit to unite with our Loved Ones. The Process and causes lots of anxious and stressful times. VJ provides a forum for like-minded people to help each-other.

Yes it is a process, yes we like factual basis for decision making. The "Discretion" is IMO a good thing as Pushbrk noted in his 2 scenarios. Under absolutes, both would be approved, with one likely to become a public charge.

It sounds to me like you want the VJ Community to admit that Manila has a 100% of poverty guideline approval code (law). This may be true, but being well-prepared using VJ'ers advice would make for a better outcome.
Arguing the law to the CO?

1) 100% poverty at Consulate Maybe-maybe not
2) 100% poverty for AOS No-way

PhilippinesManila Per KW Electric Rate?

What is the per KW electric rate in Manila??
Hanving many different condos quoting me different prices what they charge for Electirc. Just like to know the REAL rate.

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines has gained a new record, that of having the most expensive electricity in the whole of Asia. The new record was reported by the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) to the power and energy committee of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) chaired by Jose Alejandro during a recent meeting. The committee quoted a study made last October by the International Energy Consultants, an independent think-tank which allowed the power distributor to borrow the result of said study. The study had shown that with average retail rate of electricity of 18.1 US cents per kilowatt-hour in the Philippines, it has eased out Japan at the top of having the most expensive electricity in Asia. As of the same month last year, electric rates in Japan were at 17.9 US centers per kilowatt-hour.

PhilippinesReceived MNL Case Number... What's next?

Just for you!

Manila Embassy:

After NOA2 AND YOU HAVE YOUR MNL # (don't need to wait for the letter from the embassy )

Once you have your MNL # you can take your passport and required visa fee (in Php) to BPI and pay your visa fee. The embassy website states that within 4 hours of paying at BPI you can schedule your interview appointment but most times it seems to take about 24 hours.

http://www.ustraveld...paymentinfo.asp
When scheduling online with the embassy you need to include the "XX" at the beginning of the passport number, your passport number IS your receipt number (normally).

Priorty Date; this is the date the NOA 1 was accepted.

Make sure to print two copies of the interview confirmation page as you will need one for St. Luke's and the other for the embassy.

(open all of these links then save them to your bookmarks so you have them for easy access)

Have copies of passport bio page, confirmation page from scheduling interview online at embassy, and of course the 2X2 photos. (copy of annulment is asked for at times)

Preregister at St. Luke's, it saves time when you arrive.

CFO: ALL exiting required to attend. There are been changed with CFO so for sure read through the website.

http://www.cfo.gov.p...atid=140#ThirdA

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together, from USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.
** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 years old for advice and 18-21 years old for consent.

Art. 14. Such consent shall be manifested in writing by the interested party, who personally appears before the proper local civil registrar, or in the form of an affidavit made in the presence of two witnesses and attested before any official authorized by law to administer oaths. The personal manifestation shall be recorded in both applications for marriage license, and the affidavit, if one is executed instead, shall be attached to said applications. (61a)

Art. 15. Any contracting party between the age of twenty-one and twenty-five shall be obliged to ask their parents or guardian for advice upon the intended marriage. If they do not obtain such advice, or if it be unfavorable, the marriage license shall not be issued till after three months following the completion of the publication of the application therefor.A sworn statement by the contracting parties to the effect that such advice has been sought, together with the written advice given, if any, shall be attached to the application for marriage license. Should the parents or guardian refuse to give any advice, this fact shall be stated in the sworn statement.

PhilippinesTravelling with Expired Passport

Will you be landing in PI the day your passport expires?

I would call the airline, explain the situation and check. You may have problems with the return flight because the passenger name has to match the ID document. Ask them if you can change your name for your return trip to your married name, and if not, would your marriage certificate, green card in your maiden name would be sufficient.

Some airlines also will not allow you to travel on a passport that is expiring within a certain period of time.

hi. i just wanna ask if you think i will be able to return here in the U.S if i will go home to phils. with a roundtrip ticket even my passport will expire after 2 months of my vacation? my husband called the airline yesterday if what they will need from me in returning here. and they said only the permanent resident card. they said also that my passport is fine as long as its not yet expired while im traveling. but im still confused because 95% is saying no problem but the 5 % is saying i should renew it first or while im in the phils. any advice?

thank you

CanadaForms Montreal Consulate requires before K1 Visa interview is set
Can someone help clarify this for me. I received the package from Montreal indicating that before they can set an interview date they require the following forms:

DS-230 Part 1
DS-160 online
DS-156
DS-156k
Receipt from DS-160
Checklist

I have looked on Visa Journey's and have read conflicting information about only sending the DS-230 and the DS-160 and checklist and that the other forms the DS-156 and DS-156K and receipt from the DS-160 is required at interview but this is conflicting to what the package says. If someone could please help clarify I would really appreciate it.

CanadaQuestion 10 on Form I-134 Affidavit of Support
My fiancée is trying to complete form I-134 Affidavit of Support to take to the Montreal consulate and isn’t sure how to answer question 10. The question states “ I have submitted a visa petition(s) to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on behalf of the following person(s). If none, state “None”. “
Is the question asking for persons prior to myself or is he supposed to put my name on line 10 since he submitted an I-129F for me as part of this K1 Visa process. If he needs to put my name on line 10, is “Date Submitted” equivalent to the “Receipt Date” listed on the I-797 Notice of Action letter?
For those that have recently been to the Montreal consulate for an interview, how did you handle this particular question on the I-134? Thanks.

CanadaIntervie Wait Times?
Well I know that I got my P3 in middle of June and then didn't get an interview until October 22nd. After you get the P3 you will have to fill out some forms and send back to Montreal then you will wait for P4 which tells you to schedule your interview and I didn't get my P4 until September. So they say the average waiting time from the point of getting your P3 and sending back the forms is 4-6 months and that was about right in my case. Good luck to you, hope this helps.

Hi everyone, I had my interview for K1 Visa in Montreal on Oct 22nd and signed up for DHL but still have not seen any tracking number. I called the number that is listed on the website and they said Montreal has not shipped yet as once they ship it will list on website. DHL has not called me either and I called DHL and they said without a tracking number they can't do a search but that if the package arrives at the DHL depot that someone will call from DHL when it is ready for pickup. The lady that interviewed me at the Consulate gave me a letter and it says it can take 10 days. Anyone out there in the same boat? Please reply.

I was trying to save space with the amount of stuff I have to take on the plane. However I am worried that if I ship by Fed Ex ahead of time that it may get held as I was under the impression my goods couldn't cross the border before I did or is there an exception being that it is one dress? CanadaDHL TRACKING NUMBER AFTER INTERVIEW
I had my interview yesterday with Montreal consulate. After they told me I was told by this lady at the consulate that if I had already registered on line with http://canada.usvisa-info.com (the same site that you book your interview appt)then I could go on there and get my DHL tracking number. I went online to this website and all it says is my name and the DHL Location that I picked but it doesn't give me a tracking number. Is there anybody else out there that registered online and DID NOT receive a tracking number after their interview? How do I get this tracking number now? The consulate was handing out manual DHL waybills but only to those that didn't register online so I am just wondering now how to get this information? If someone could please help share some insight on this that would be appreciated.

CanadaAdjustment of Status Form I-693

Typically a K1 does not need to complete the i693 like you said as long as you are filing within a year on the foreign medical exam. I have completed the AOS process (interviewed yesterday) and was not required or requested the I693 form (but I did recently second guess myself on this too just before our interview!). In my AOS application though I did include a copy of the vaccination worksheet I received with my sealed medical from the clinic that did my medical. Also search the forum for "AOS form i693" you'll get lots of info that way:)

Thanks for your response. The only thing is that I had to submit my sealed medical package to my K1 Visa Interview and they never gave it back to me so all I have is the vaccination worksheet. Do you know if this is okay? Let me know.

Thanks
