Dear Mr. SqdnGuns:

The IV Unit of the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok received the returned Packet 3 materials of the applicant on March 5, 2008. The interview appointment has been scheduled for the applicants on 29-MAY-2008 at 07:30 am. The Packet 4 which is an interview appointment instruction was mailed to this address on March 6, 2008.

Hey, not as soon as we wanted but it's a light at the end of the tunnel!! Being that it is 2 1/2 months from now, I may just go for the interview.

Question about the police certificate. My fiancee has lived in Bangkok, Phuket, and Nong Khai, will she need to get one from each police station or will Bangkok provide a one for all type of certificate so she doesn't have to travel around for all of these? Thanks in advance... you guys have been great and I appreciate all of your help. Just got the letter from the NVC today with her case number, so now I can check when her interview will be scheduled biggrin.gif

The Certificate in BKK will cover all of Thailand.

Wilaiwan says that she didn't get any instructions pertaining to her medical with the packet three she received. The old checklist that I downloaded referred to following the included documents to obtain your medical exam. Is there something missing that we need, or can she just make an appt. at Bumrungrat and proceed?
She sent it in yesterday so we've joined the que!

Have her just schedule the appt, my fiancee is going to her medical on 3/13 Bumdundgrad (sp?)

Thanks all. So the hospital will have the necessary forms???
She's working in Nakhon sri Thanmmarat till the end of the month so she won't be going till then. Otherwise they could all have a party!
Is anyone going over for the interview? I was there in Oct. and since I'm out of work I probably won't make it. Hopefully she can get through it on her own.

They spell it Bumrungrand, but as usual pronounce it differently, Bum roong rot

Chok dii!!

Download the forms here:

and

All can be found here:

I'm not going for the interview, considered it but would rather get a her non-stop 1st class ticket on Thai Airways.

It expires in September and it needs to have 8 months validity on it prior to the issue of visa. #######!!

She is going to head off to BKK this weekend from Lamduan and apply for her new passport, fortunately it only takes 3 days for the new passport and she will also get her police check done while she is there. Once she has her new passport, she will send in the DS-230, pictures and copy of the photo page of her new passport.

We can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, I hope that she will have her interview by the end of March but that may be just some wishful thinking.

Sqdnguns, just want you to know that it will take two to three weeks to receive your police certificate from the BKK police department. Have them send it to your fiance by EMS. Good luck on getting your interview soon. good.gif

Thanks!

She applied for her new passport yesterday and will pick it up Thursday morning then head over to get the police check done. She spoke with them yesterday and they told her she could pick up her police check on Monday but she does not want to hang around BKK any longer than she has to, she will have them mail it to her.

I was surprised when they told her she could pick it up on Monday. wacko.gif blink.gif

Hello All.

It is great to see a Thailand thread.

My Fiancee is a native of Thailand but right now she is studying English in England.

A couple of questions on the G-325A. I am completeing her work history and some of the addresses in Thailand are very long. Do you shorten the address or use additional pages or what?
Are some of the addresses very long or am I misunderstanding her?

2- Native alphabet? Is this something I do by copying and pasting from translation sites?
But I have to send the G-325A back to her to sign anyway so can she fill it in herself?

Thanks so much

George

Addresses: On some of them I just put the City and Province. Must have been good enough, got our NOA2.

Native Alphabet: I just sent my fiancee 4 copies of the G-325A, had her fill out the required data in Thai alphabet and she mailed them back.

Seems to be a lot of us about to be reunited with our loved ones! kicking.gif

Just got off the phone with NVC and found out the package was sent to BKK on Friday 2/1/08. I guess CSC has got their butt in gear in regards to sending packages off to the embassy's/consulates, it only took 8 days from NOA2 approval. I was expecting at least 3 weeks.......expect the worse, get the best.

We decided that I will not go to BKK for her interview, I am pending a promotion at work anytime now so we don't want to jeopardize that. With the money I would have spent on my airfare, I am going to surprise her and get her a direct flight from BKK to LAX on Thai Airways, 1st Class. kicking.gif She will be stoked!!

Good luck to all and congrats to those who have already been reunited!!

Sawasdee ka fellow visa chasers! For a little back ground information: I'm an American woman living in Bangkok with my Thai fiancee. I've been here about 4 1/2 years now and am ready to go home.

I think you can see this in my timeline but we have completed all the info on my end (the American end of things) and have just finished collecting all the info for Packet 3. We haven't turned it into the embassy yet though because we have a slight problem.

I am pregnant and due in mid August star_smile.gif (if the little ####### comes on time) but I would like to give birth here and have a couple of months of nursing/baby time and adjustment before moving back to the United State and frantically looking for a job and worrying about my finances all over again. So, that means we would like to leave Thailand in mid-October/ perhaps November.

I realize that after the visa is issued we have 6 months before we have to exit the country....that means I want to schedule a later interview sometime in May. How can I do this? My second problem is, I'm afraid if I turn in Packet 3 too late, I will be "disqualified" or have some issues.

I've noticed some of you have some experience with the embassy. I've tried writing them, but i've gotten computer generated responses and no answers yet. What do you guys recommend.

Like I said, I'm in Bangkok so I could even go to the embassy myself....but I wouldn't know who to speak to; and in a sense I'm a little embarassed since I'd be asking about the "fiancee" visa when I'm already pregnant....Yeah, I know it's 2008 but some old fashioned sense in me has recently "popped up." hee hee.

What do you guys recommend? Thank you!

If you're in BKK, hand deliver your package 3 and see if you can speak to someone about your situation?? Just a thought. You can always get an extension on that 6 months due to the situation (pregnancy), just have a doctor letter stating that you are preggers.

Hi folks! I have good news - we're approved! My fiancee was up before 6am to get ready and catch a taxi to the Embassy for an 8am interview. She turned in her paperwork at 8am, and had a quick interview less than an hour later. The interview consisted of only a few questions - when did we first meet, where do I live in the US, etc. The Visa was approved and she will be able to pick it up on Friday.

Wow... It's been a stressful and exciting ride after submitting our I-129F package at the beginning of June. I can't wait to fly to BKK on the 26th - and to fly back together to the US on the 30th. Fabulous.... Life is good.

OK, been prepping the packet 3 to take to Thailand with me on Friday and it is driving me nuts!! Only the income ####### is a concern for me at them moment.

I would like some input from others who have passed through BKK Embassy for I-29F/K-1, please.

I will have a co-sponsor even though I really don't need one, I just want to be damn sure!! My income from last year was minimal, cough, cough............worked in the Philippines so all income was on the down low. whistling.gif

From what I have read, over and over I might add, is the following in regards to income for myself and co-sponsor (Mom).

* Notarized I-134 from each of us.

* Most recent tax return (2006) (Does this need to be notarized?)

* Notarized Letter from employer stating type of employment (Temp or Perm), salary, and length of employment for myself and co-sponsor.

* Pay stubs for myself and co-sponsor, how many? (We get our stubs online via ADP, do these need to be notarized?)

* Does the co-sponsor and I have to provide a letter's from our respective banks?

* I receive a retirement from the Marine Corps as well as a disability from the VA, do the statements to show monies received have to be notarized?

This is all a PITA, I can't wait until it is all through.

I appreciate any/all comments/recommendations.

What a roller coaster few days........it is almost 4 AM here in California.

Well, good news!!

Martin from the Farang Connection in Surin made it out to my fiancee's village and all is well. Her father came back from Cambodia yesterday and my fiancee is due back today.

I actually got a phone call from her and we talked for almost an hour. Her cell phone was stolen while in Cambodia, no surprise there, I had bought her some high end Nokia when we were living in the Philippines last year and I guess some thief saw it and just had to have it. She bought a new one as soon as she got across the border as well as a new sim card. Good thing she had written down my phone numbers!!

All is good in SqdnGuns world now....too bad I have to go to work in a few hours, I haven't even slept yet. :crying:

Thanks to those who PM'd me and offered assistance, it is greatly appreciated. I am going to be buying Martin as many beers that he can drink while I am in Surin in September!! Those limey's are pretty good people!!

Now to buy my ticket for September

Thank you for the kind words. I may have someone in Surin who can swing by her village to check on her mom and find out why they have not made it back from Cambodia yet. I hope to here back from him tonight if he can do it.

Thanks to a member here, he'll make himself known if he wishes, and the owner of the Farang Connection in Surin, they will be assisting me in finding out if all is well. The owner of Farang Connection wasn't surprised, he says many of the ladies lose their phones and other farangs have asked him for assistance. Let's hope that is the case, I hope nothing happened when she went to Cambodia.

Keep your fingers crossed folks!!

BTW, I just want to say that the owner of the Farang Connection is an absolute saint!! I have met him before and when I am back there in September, you bet I'm going to buy him all the drinks he can handle!!

Need an assist here. If anyone has a SO near Lamduan or Krasang in the ISAAN region, please let me know.

I am getting a wee bit worried about my fiancee and her family. My fiancee took her dad to Cambodia last Friday due to the death of his brother. We figured that we would be out of touch for a few days but it will be a week tomorrow and I am worried. Her mom stayed back and I cannot get in touch with her on her cell. Appreciate any assistance.

They crossed over at Poipet, not the safest place to be, one reason for my concern.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSAWASDEE 2

What would be the chances of us getting a subforum set up in the "Regional Discussion" forum? There are a lot of filers that have a fiance(e) from Thailand. I think it would be a great way to share stories, post advice and questions specifically geared towards Thailand. A number of countries have their own subforum...how about us? Going through 100+ pages of one post can be someone difficult and time consuming.

I wrote to VisaJourney, but so far haven't gotten a response. Maybe there needs to be a poll? What does everyone think?

I'm with you.............

Keeping the thread alive.......

I will be leaving for Thailand on Sept 7th and returning to So Cal on the 16th. I'll probably spend a a day or two in Bangkok then spend the rest of my time up in Surin (Krasang/Lamduan). If anyone is going to be there about the same time or have anyone they want me to meet up with in Surin, let me know.

Great info here!! I am in the process is getting my fiancee's I-29F package together, what a PITA but it will be worth it in the end.

My finacee is in Lamduan, near Surin, waiting out this whole process. I just received some documents from her the other day and I am just waiting for my birth certificate from Mass and a copy of my divorce decree.

One thing I am confused about; I have seen on the UCIS site that I am to send my I-29F package to Vermont although I am in California. Heck, the UCIS office is only 45 minutes from me in Laguna Niguel, why would I have to send it to Vermont? Guess I should just give them a call, before I send it out.

Also, I have seen some "Timelines" that are very positive and others that are depressing just to process the I-29F and getting the final interview and approval from the embassy in Bangkok. If I recall correctly, I saw one that was only 4 months from submission till the bride and groom were reunited and I have seen a few that were almost a year, OUCH!!

Well, I plan on being here daily to pick your brains to see what kind of good advice you can provide.

Thanks for the GREAT source of info!!

This whole situation really sucks..............the wife was supposed to head to BKK last week before our son got sick to have his US birth certificate translated and then authenticated at the Embassy so she could register him at the Amphur. What a mess...........

BTW, son was released from the hospital in Surin day before yesterday, for a 4 day stay and all the medical attention he received, it only cost 9,000 baht. Amazing, why does it have to cost so much here in the US??

Anyone here at VJ in BKK, be careful!!
