After all the researching and emails sent this weekend, I feel like I have hit a wall physically and emotionally. Skype'd with wife and son this weekend, she is a wreak.

It makes it that much harder to deal with when the spouse does not totally grasp why it takes so long and you have a child that keeps getting ill. All she hears is Expedite was approved, why the hell is it taking so long. Expedite was approved 77 days ago, go figure.

She is in a very rural area of Thailand, if I could afford it I would relocate her to Bangkok until this ####### is resolved.

So I finally had time to email tsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov.

Almost immediately I receive an automated reply from the same email address stating the following:

Thank you for contacting the Texas Service Center National Customer Service Center (NCSC) Follow Up e-mail account. The purpose of this account is to assist petitioners, applicants or their authorized representatives who have contacted the NCSC number (1-800-375-5283) with an inquiry but feel their inquiry was not adequately addressed within 30 days or who feel that the response received from the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) was not sufficient. This auto reply message will serve as a record of our receiving your inquiry. The TSC NCSC Follow Up e-mail account will try to be responsive to all requests. However, please note that you will not receive a response to your inquiry if you did not first try to resolve your issue by contacting the NCSC, or if you are not the petitioner, applicant or a designated representative of the case you are inquiring about.

If you are asking for a status update you must contact the NCSC. We will not respond to your status update inquiry.

In order to assist you in a timely manner, please include the following information with your inquiry (Send a follow-up email including this information if it was not included in your first request to this e-mailbox):

  • The service request management tool (SRMT) inquiry number that you were given when you called the NCSC,
    • If you have called the NCSC and they informed you they are unable to complete a SRMT please provide a brief explanation.
  • The date that you contacted the NCSC,
  • Your name and receipt number and/or A-number, and
  • If available, the name of the NCSC Customer Service Representative you spoke with.
The Texas Service Center will review your e-mail and respond through this e-mail account or through the US Postal Service.

If you feel the decision on your case was made in error, to protect your rights you must follow the regulations and file any necessary motion or appeal within the allotted timeframe.

I'm sure this has been posted before, and perhaps I missed it because I'm quite tired at the moment, but if someone can tell me, what in the world is a service request management tool (SRMT) inquiry number?

My petition had been expedited by a Tier 2 Officer- however I hadn't been given any SRMT inquiry number.

Any thoughts?

Service Request Management Tool (SRMT) online for Forms I-90 and N-400
  • Currently customers contact the 1-800 number to make a service request, which is then sent via SRMT to the Field Office or Service Center
  • Enhancement will allow customers and representatives the opportunity to use SRMT directly to submit a request directly to the Field Office or Service Center responsible for the case without calling the 1-800 number
  • Will be accessible through www.uscis.gov
  • This service will be piloted for customers whose case is Outside Normal Processing Times for the Forms I-90 and N-400
  • We plan to offer this online service for all form types currently handled by the call centers

----------------------------------------------------------

Service Request Management Tool (SRMT): When an application or petition is outside of target processing times, a petitioner may contact the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) to request an inquiry into his or her case (SRMT). Given the USCIS goal to adjudicate O and P nonimmigrant petitions within 14 days, USCIS has taken steps to ensure the NCSC generates an SRMT when an O and P nonimmigrant petition has been pending for over 14 days. It should be noted that for e-filed cases, the processing time does not begin until the supporting documentation is received at the service center. This information was added to the ?Instructions for electronically Filing Form I-129?.

I am out of the office until June, 2011, and will be based in Paris, on a leave of absence, until then. Though I will be checking my email from time to time, for Metro immigration coverage, please contact Sam Dolnick, at sam.dolnick@nytimes.com, or Kirk Semple at semplek@nytimes.com, or call the Metro desk at 212 556-1533.

Thank you Officer Garza.

May I have the name and contact information of a Supervisor or Manager that is in charge of all the I-130's that were transferred from the California Service Center?

According to two USCIS CSR's that I spoke with almost 2 months ago, my wife's I-130 was already with an Adjudicator, but as I stated in my previous e-mail, all other phone communications I have had with USCIS CSR's, all the "explanations" were quite different. What could the disconnect be within USCIS?

This link shows one of the breathing treatments that my son has to endure due to being hospitalized with pneumonia and bronchitis on multiple occasions, the purpose of my expedite request that was approved November 8, 2010, 76 days as of this e-mail.

Ms. Bernstein says in her "Strict Visa Laws" article that when she started to ask for info about Mr. van Sanders cases that USCIS released him from the correctional facility where he was being held. Maybe she can scare USCIS into getting their act together with this TSC fiasco and get them to act on our behalf.

Thanks Sean, I always have a helluva time putting into words that are in my mind, especially when I am angry. I have been stewing all day about our situation, it seems like nothing gets done with our Government unless someone does "something over the top".

Imagine all the others out there that don't belong to VJ or another similar site, what could be going through their minds?

What do you guys think about a daily call to NCSC? I wake up around 5am (Pacific). If I could do a 10 minute call every few days. Would that hinder my case or help it? Or is it a little outlandish and childish. I'm getting desperate. (As are all of you too!)

IMO this is because of the over-reaction to 9/11. We need FBI checks on everybody coming into the country as a permanent resident? Like they couldn't cause a problem on a 6-month tourist visa if they really wanted to. The real loss due to terrorisms is billions of dollars and untold number of man-hours spent on useless gestures so we feel safer. And the kicker is that we do it to ourselves.

The terrorist have won...................they made made our government impotent.

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding your application. If your inquiry is case-specific, please call and speak to one of the officers or you can make a service request at the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283 (TTY 1-800-767-1833). This toll-free call center has additional information and, during their specified office hours, can connect you to live assistance in English and Spanish.

In order to make a service request and speak to a Customer Service Representative, please follow the below instructions:

1) Call 1-800-375-5283
2) DO NOT ENTER A RECEIPT #
3) Select the prompt “1”
4) Then select the prompt “2”
5) Next select the prompt “3”

At that time you will be connected to a Customer Service Representative and advise them you would like to make a service request. This office only accepts an inquiry after an initial service request is made with the National Customer Service Center. If after 30 days and you made a service request and not received a response, you may contact us with a referral tracking number and/or an identification number of the person you spoke to regarding your case. This information will assist us in better serving you.

As a courtesy, we can inform you that the status of your case may be obtained online at https://egov.uscis.g...s/Dashboard.do.

Have not posted much recently, trying to give my brain housing group a break. Been so stressed that I have somewhat of a minor flare up of my Crohn's disease. It's a shi tty disease, literally.

Our son is doing better, we were on Skype last night and he is giving mom a run for her money. Daddy needs to square him away when he gets home. Let's hope they get home before he gets sick again!!

They are going to Bangkok tonight to get the police check, wife's birth cert translated and something else done I cannot recall now. I am bummed that we have to send all that to NVC. For her K-1, she just had to take it to her interview.

Tried calling NVC this morning to see if they received her package yet; nope. I will try again tonight.

If I do not hear from the reporter tomorrow, I will give her a call to find out what's up with the story.

Not yet Wade. We were promised it by Thursday, so far nothing and our emails since have fallen on deaf ears. It's very, very easy to become instantly cynical after what we have all been through.

It's either gone to NVC, and the email wasn't sent to us, or we have been forgotten about. I'll be sending a further email to Angela first thing Monday for clarification.

Don't think I'll rest until I see case numbers being allocated from our little group. Even with all this elation, still only 4 cases have arrived at NVC from Texas.

We shall see what next week brings....

I am still doubting that everything is working as expected. You hit the nail on the head with this:

It's very, very easy to become instantly cynical after what we have all been through.

I will not be happy until my wife and son are home. I can't wait for the newspaper article to be published in print and online. I will do another blast to get the word out on the article and I have a ton of others that will get the word out online about the article as well. At this point, I think it is the only way to ensure that USCIS will make sure we 36,000 are taken care of.
