Just called USCIS 800# to check on the expedite request from November 8th. The expedite request was approved and my wife's I-130 is on an adjudicator's desk right now. The agent I spoke with stated that a notice was sent to me on Monday advising me of the approval of expedite.

Now if I can get my wife and son home by Christmas.......................

got my letter of case transfer yesterday. funny thing is im seeing people left at csc who had noa1 less time than me are now getting noa2. feeling like the guy that changes lanes on the highway to what looked like the faster lane only to find out its now the slower lane....oh well...wife will be coming for 37 day visit on dec 3 that will make rest of wait easier. will be our first christmas together and new years.... :D

My first thought when they started all these transfers...........I just hope my request for expedite goes through smoothly.

Just called and filed for the case to be expedited. I was told they would contact me within the next 5 days, assuming that they will tell me where to send all the translated medical records for our son.

CanadianRedNeck, what was the expedite procedures you went through?

Thanks!

He must be pending orders for deployment abroad in order to expedite.

Don't know about good or bad, but it's strange that people in the federal government are working on the weekend.

I would assume that it was a batch update set to run at a specific time.

I'm heading to Thailand on Oct 18th to see my wife and son. Our son, 17 months, has been sick off and on for a couple months. I am going to see his doctor, get his medical records and have it translated and notarized and overnight it to USCIS to get it my wife's GC expedited. If I can convince her to let me bring him back with me, I will. He's a USC so no problem with that.

Sent mine back overnight yesterday and it has just arrived. I hope that it will forwarded on to a SC ASAP, it was already neatly organized in 3 separate portions when they sent it back to me. My thinking is they just needed her address in Thai before approving it.

Welcome to all in this July filers group!

I didn't have NOA1 so far.

Called the USCIS today to check the delay of NOA1. After first level representative collected the basic information, the call was escalated to the second level. They asked my last name and zip code and advised that their mail room is full with 1000s of applications and to wait until the check is cashed, after routing to the appropriate service center. I asked them how many more weeks (mine is going to be 3 weeks on this Wed) to wait. Then I was told another 2 more weeks! Also, I was told that there will be a receipt# at the back of the cleared check. Good thing they told was I won't lose the priority date of I-130 which is July 21, even if there is a delay in entering the application into their system or not.

Hope this helps to others who are also stuck like me not having NOA1 for more than 10 days after the submission!

Loto

Thanks for the update Loto, saves me a phone call, for now...............

Overnight to Chicago on July 20, signed for the following day by R MERCADO.

Have not seen anything since, the personal check still hasn't been cashed.............18 days and nothing.

It took almost exactly one year for my wife to get here on a K-1, we did not file AOS after we married due to me being laid off twice and moving to Florida where our son was born. She went back home the end of March to visit family since her mom was ill and we wanted to make sure she could see her new grandson, just in case she took a turn for the worse. I am so tired of this slow immigration process. Almost be better off flying her and my son into Mexico and making a border run, the borders seem wide open anyways............I am back in California now, got a good solid job this time. <knock on wood>

Good luck to everyone else.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHelp Help - cannot track case status online!

this is what i got and based on the below it says to wait until you receive the NOA1 copy in the mail before checking the case status online, it has been a while since i got this but still the receipt number cannot be found on the uscis site. Should I make an InfoPass appointment to see why it is not showing up online? I have read that it is OK to not see the status etc etc but i don't feel comfortable for some reason.

I just wanted to make a post thanking all who have provided priceless information here at Visa Journey.

I started lurking on here back in March, joined in April and just now becoming an active member.

I sent in my I-29F application on Monday, June 18th, what a relief to finally get that out!! Gathering all the appropriate documentation was a PITA but the end result will be well worth it.

In September, I will be heading back to Thailand for a visit with my fiancée and her family, only for a week but hopefully she can be here for good by Christmas!! (Oh, if there truly is a GOD, please make it happen :innocent: )

I am sure that I will be asking quite a few questions and answering some during this whole process.

Once again, THANKS TO ALL!!

Good Luck to everyone.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp?

Hi all!

I'm an Australian engaged to an American, and we're in the process of filling out the I-129F so I can come over.

So...

Just a quick question about the Fiancé Letter of Intent... Does that have to be typed out on computer, or can I write it out by hand?

Thanks!

Just print out the example here: http://www.visajourn...r_of_Intent.doc

Make the appropriate modifications and that's it.
