United KingdomLondon K applicants to pay MRV fees through new system if interview 26th July+

What the heck did I miss? My interview is August 8th, and now I'm worried about this courier delivery stuff.. I paid my MRV fee before any of this online stuff started happening and now I'm completely confused after reading this thread! *Weeps*

.. Is there anything else I need to do before the interview? I thought my passport would just be delivered to my home address after the approval.

United KingdomLondon 2012- K1s from NOA2 to interview thread

Since we were completely ready, we sent all of the required DS forms, along with the cover letter all together before the medical and stated on the cover letter the medical appointment date (June 21st).  However, we did not put a wedding/travel date (saw that tip a bit too late), because we are waiting to get the approval to make any definite plans. Appreciate any help with a possible date we will get the interview letter and/or interview.  Thanks! star_smile.gif

I'm in the same position - all my forms and medical results are logged in at the embassy, so I'm just waiting for an interview date. I also didn't put a wedding/travel date as I would have had to make one up and in any case I saw that advice too late. I'm guessing I should wait a couple of weeks since my medical results were logged to phone up DoS and see if a date has been sent? Anyone got any advice? How long did you wait between sending all your information and getting an interview?

Thanks!

United KingdomLondon 2012- K1s from NOA2 to interview thread

Hi! So I'm still trogging along trying to get an interview.. dry.png

Unfortunately when I went to have my medical exam they needed a further letter from my medical doctor with details of my medical history, so this has held up my medical results being couriered to the embassy by another couple of weeks, so annoying.. However, I am going to get the necessary documentation sent in tomorrow, so the embassy should have everything they need by next week.

I said this before, but I'm kind of kicking myself for not writing a wedding date on my cover letter.. I assumed I was so far ahead of time it wasn't going to be a problem, but I do in fact have a wedding date, which is October 16th. Assuming all goes well and my documents get processed in an efficient fashion, do you think I'll get my interview in plenty of time? I've kind of given up caring when I get over to America, as long as it's before October 16th!

If it's later than that (I don't think it will be.. I just get panicky sometimes), it's going to be a real problem. Someone mentioned that you can phone the embassy and beg for an email/code thing to have the interview brought forward?

If anyone can give me a recent experience of how long it took them to get from medical exam to interview I'd be grateful. Also if anyone can tell me what the story is if I have to beg them to give me an earlier interview date, that would be great too.. Everything is sent in to the embassy and ready to go, other than my medical results at this point. I think I'll be ok! October is still over 3 months away. Surely it wouldn't take that long?

maireadtravinsFemaleScotland2013-06-25 13:45:00
United KingdomLondon 2012- K1s from NOA2 to interview thread

All I can tell is my recent experience.

Medical on Thu 30 May.

Results sent to Embassy on Mon 3 June

File updated on Tue 4 June (CEAC website).  Called DOS who confirmed that I had been allocated an interview date of 18 June.

Still not received the actual interview letter.

In my covering letter, I said that we were getting married on 12 July and included confirmation of the wedding booking as evidence of that.  I don't know if this helped in getting a date relatively soon.

Thanks, that's helpful :) Kind of wish I'd put a 'date of travel' on mine as well, but seeing as we're not planning on celebrating our wedding till October I'm not sure how much it would have helped..

So I just put something along the lines of 'I do not yet have a specific date of travel or marriage as of yet, but I hope that you schedule my interview as soon as possible, since I'm available to travel to the interview at any given time'.

I'm just really scared right now that I'm going to be away from my guys for ages and ages and ages. It's giving me the fear!

Hi guys - Finally got all my stuff sent in to the embassy and have my medical scheduled for June 12th, fee paid and everything.

Anyone have any recent estimates about how long it will take to hear about my interview? And roughly how long away my interview is in general?

I realise there is probably a timeline for this somewhere, but I've literally filled in so much paper work and stared at so much information today that I think my brain has stopped working..

Having read through many things here and on the London Embassy site, I'm still slightly confused about what order I'm supposed to do things in..

On the embassy website it says 'Step two: send all forms with date of medical exam'

And then it says step three: 'Schedule medical exam'

wacko.png Is it just me or does that not make much sense? Should I schedule the medical exam before I send the forms to them, or afterwards?

Haha, thanks anyway! I guess I'm just trying to find out whether, in reality, it's best to wait until you get your letter until you send forms and/or try to schedule the medical. I wouldn't want to take any unnecessary risks and end up getting in a muddle with the embassy!

Uuurgh, sorry to ask a really stupid question, I just read almost the whole thread and made a whole bunch of notes and ultimately ended up giving myself brain melt-down

Is it possible to schedule the medical just by obtaining the case number from the NVC? Or do you have to wait until the beneficiary receives word from the embassy?

I want to get my medical scheduled as quickly as possible but I'm not entirely sure at what stage it is sensible to do so. Obviously you can't send off any of the forms until you're sure the embassy has your info all logged in.. Crikey, it's so confusing! Sorry to be thick!

Oh, and also, I'd like to clarify the exact vaccinations I'll need in order to qualify for AOS. I've just registered at a new GP and intend to get all required vaccines so I can then get a complete vaccine record and take it to medical exam with me.

Thanks in advance for answers!

Hello all,

I know you have to list ALL your previous visits to the US when filling out the forms for the embassy.. The problem is, I went to the US when I was 18, when I was 13, and when I was... Too young to remember!

... How on earth am I supposed to find out what these exact dates were and what kind of visa/waiver I travelled on at the time?

It just seems pretty ridiculous if I have to try and remember when I made a visit as a small child. I think I'd even struggle to find the info from when I went as an 18 year old, as I wasn't organising the travel.

Any advice?

A question about the police certificate - it says they need two items of official correspondence (i.e.. bank statements etc) to process the police certificate - does anyone know if these need to be two different things? For example, can I just send them two bank statements with different dates on them, or do I need to send a bank statement and something else? I know it can't be hand-written or anything like that, but are there items they will and will not accept?

Cheers

Great thank you for the update, they are sooo ridiculously backlogged, you would think as much as we pay for this service, they could hire people to speed up this process, before the i-601A these waivers were taking 2-4 months tops. this is soo sad, to hear it is taking so long.

Hey thank you for you response, how long did your i-601 take??? I mean My husband is still in Guatemala and I am back in the states, it looks like it went  through quickly per your timeline, My husbands i-130 was approved in July I think, and It took them till december to get his interview, then we had to go back because the sponsorship papers were not right, so they finnallly accepted him in February, but give us the paper that said to file the I-601. THe lawyer got that sent out on the 17th of March, This month.

I guess what I am wondering is how much more time do you think i am looking at???? Well in comparison to yours, I know you cant gurantee nothing with this process... Thank you soo much,

Hi everyone! My husband and I returned from Guatemala just a week ago. We did the I-160 waiver. If anyone has any questions about it, let me know!! It was quick and painless for us.

I hope by the time I file our waiver that they will be somewhat caught up and the processing time goes back to 4-6 months.    The current processign times really depress me.  It took 11 months and 6 days just to get approved  at the TSC.  Right now I am praying my K3 makes it to the embassy because the NVC is another 3 month wait.  We know we need the waiver so I hope they just let us go with the K3 to save time. We don't care about the adjustment fee. We just care about the time we already lost.   I hope you all get approved . This waiting game really sucks !

Wow I hope it does go faster for you, I have seen the k3 visas go quickly...this is soo sad...Hang in there it is all worth it in the end. At least I keep telling  myself that. :sleepy:

FYI, When they did the government shutdown, it did not affect people who are applying for a VISA, Because WE pay for this service...That doesnt affect Spousel Visas, THE diversity visa however, overloaded all the centers, which resulted in transferring of cases. http://shusterman.co...-shut-down.html

My waiver is in on March 17th and I am still waiting for the recieving reciept...My 2 year wedding anniversary is in June as well. I feel Your pain, rylforever... Most Definately...Just keep hoping this will only take 4 months and 4-6 weeks for the visa to get to my husband, he is located in a lil town on the Border of Mexico..9 hours from the embassy.

How long is that part.. thank you!My husband has his appt. for the 25 of February and my lawyer has the i-601 ready. Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)What color was your exit interview sheet?

QUESTION!

After the conselor processing interview, everyone is given a sheet, that states whether or not they qualify for the inelgibility waiver...Sooo My husbands last interview was in February 2014. His sheet was white for Guatemala...

-The problem is that I see that guatemala is requesting a yellow sheet, new medical, and new criminal records, to finish the visa, after you are approved for the waiver...Soooo, Does it matter the color of the sheet? List your exit color sheet please and filiing country...I think some countries may have changed, and believe this will help others, not feel they have lost it, becuase at this point I feel I have lost whatever they are asking for, and super worried!

O my, this is very simple...Take a copy of your account statements, after the deposits go in... I was off like 700.00, the problem is they only judge by taxable income, But you can add assets as well...I turned in the titles and tax value of my vehicles as well as  my bank statements... instant approval! Good Luck, its a pain to wait, but it is a simple fix.  :)

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)After I-601 approval instruction wait times?

After you have recieved your I-601 approval,  How long is it taking to get your instructions, I hear that there is a 60 day wait on instructions, which is crazy, I know for sure that after the consulate recieves your approval they will contact you in 5 days...How long is everyone waiting, or has waited, Most have waitted about 10 days...But what about those who havent, post your country you are applying to please, as well as the Approval time to date receieved instructions..there is no time line on this ANYWHERE...thank you!

My Husbands approval was July 14th, and it is August 20, 2014 and we are still waiting on instructions, we have been told it may take up to 90 days, after that we can file a status request to have them investigate the issue...other wise we have to wait..the lawyer has tried everything, I sent the scanned copy of approval and that was not good enough, they want the original from USCIS before they will proceed to give him instructions to pick up his visa.... :crying:

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)March 2014 I-601 Filers

You have to express your hardship in the I-601... the spouses have to show how they will suffer from both sides, In addition, they are asking for your financial information, so that you can prove hardship on your behalf, being the reason why you need him to come home...If you expressed depression or he mentioned you suffer from any type of medical problems, you have to get the proof of that, I went to my doctors and had them pull my medical records which showed what they diagnosed me with and what medications I was put on at the times. Sounds like they are looking for the hardsship from your end verses his, if you get the proof they need together and send it, I bet you get a response in like 10-15 days, most people that have sent in the RFE's get the approival really quick...you may want to seek legal help, if you dont already have it. good luck!  and dont loose faith.

Because I did the waiver packet on my own. I am afraid my hardship is not enough. I did not submit much evidence. I thought that a previously approved Non-Immigrant waiver included In the packet would help a lot being they approved him before but I am reading they are a lot easier to get. He was refused due to a 17 year old assault charge. Funny thing is he didn't even hit the guy only shoved him because he was messing around with his ex wife. If he knew then what he knows now he could have and would have had the charge reduced or dropped.

Most likly if you didnt have enough evidence you might get an RFE, which will give you the chance to fix what you may have left out...Keep your head up!

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)March 2014 I-601 Filers

I just mailed my husbands waiver package yesterday our interview was on May 21. The package is to be delivered to Arizona at 1030 am this morning. I am soooo hoping that since my husband already had a non-immigrant I-194 waiver in 2012 that the immigrant I-601 waiver will be approved swiftly. How can they not see when they punch in his A number that they already waived him for the exact same inadmissibility. Seems silly for them to make us wait it out for so long. Already our life has been on hold for 14 months to get to the interview.

Good day, I have a friend that tied her waivers together for her husband...I see you sent in the I-601 now, that must mean he is back in his home country...Soooo, I could be wrong on this, but I would think that he would still have to wait the normal times, becuase he was went from a non0immigrant application to a IR-1 Visa, like a residency visa...THe only thing That I know you might can do, is have him call the USCIS, and ask questions about them possibly being tied..The Non-immigrant waiver doesnt require a hardship proof..That one is for ppl who have never been in the U.S.  The I-601 is to lift the time that he was here on an undocumented basis... But, I would suggest him calling possibly and asking if they can be tied together...

I mean, nothing hurts to call or request to speak to an officer, via skype, they do that now where you can schedule an appointment online to ask questions like that...Or go to Laurel Scott attorneys, look her up, she has a chat log she does once a week, and lets ppl ask questions...that would be a good one to ask, I am sure she would respond..she tries to repond to everyone....good luck,!

OO and all` March people good news, I have seen several january approvals..Including one for January 26 on wednesday... Sooo, keep praying my friends, I hope were soon!

Ooo ok, I got you, and I I understand  your saying the visa appt date was like November 25th of last year? So you have till November 25th of this year..I have seen many with that issue, what they do is make you may the visa fee again. To my understanding, and do the update of sponsor paper work. After 6 months you have to redo medical and criminal records, anyways.. I know it makes it harder...I think you will be ok though, I am seeing a trending 6 month turn around now...Good Luck!

I601 waiver
lock box March 11, 2014... Im praying it takes the most 6 months tops!!! do they expedite cases that have a pending petition on file? and what is the I 212

No, they don't expedite, if there is one pending...mmm not sure what the applicant would have pending...In order to file the I-601 you have to have been denied the visa, and on the letter the immigracion officer gives the applicant it states why he or she is not eligible to enter the united states, and what waivers he or she must apply for. The I-212 is for people who have been in the U.S. that were deported...Or signed a deportation waiver and left under some sort of grounds of deportation. Those are the people who have to file it. The Officer will know when he pulls the record at the visa interview whether or not that he/she needs this.

Hi KmOm0629,

Do you happen to know the Guatemalan embassy e-mail?

Just so you know my timeline..

Country: Guatemala

Lockbox for I-601: August 1, 2013

Beginning of March 2014: Husband called USCIS to inquire about case (said they would follow up within 30 days)

Mid March: Received RFE for additional information

April 18, 2014: RFE information received

April 30, 2014: I-601 & I-212 approved!

My husband is just waiting for his letter from USCIS and the call from the embassy... Of course I almost feel like this waiting is harder than the rest!

It is, GuatemalaIV@state.gov

But, He has to contact, tell him to call, becuase it is regards to his I-601, the spouse of the applicant has no rights, like they wont give you any information, tell him to call and make sure they have the information right, I think he has to make the appointment, so tell him to call, i heard that guatemala doesnt really send an email with instructions, only Juarez...So have him to call..and Be sure.
