Well I have worked steady for over 4 years at a Community College, and Have proof of everything. So I dont think that the money part was the issue, I think they want another sponsor just to see if he can have the support..or someone else wants him you know what im saying? I have plenty of proof, but the only other option is they made a huge mistake and overlooked my taxes. Check the Visa website there is plenty of information on affidavit of support and uscis...They have the updated amount you have to make per year, i think for 3 dependents it is 23,000...close to that amount.

My husband was asked who was filing for him, where did we meet like 4 times he said and if we had kids. They asked where he was going to live and with who...They asked for who I lived with...What they did not tell him is why I did not qulaify for the sponsor, I make enough money I surpass that, and I have a clean criminal back ground...This is the part my lawyers are investigating and I will be sure to let people know what it is...I am thinking that they wanted to see if my husband has someone else who will sponsor him, just cus they can..I have no idea...

* FYI for every question they ask, try to show a proof, my husband had pictures of almost everything and showed them the proof of when I visited and showed them my reciepts where i send him money sometimes, proof of everything...This will help...

She did tell him that the sponsor ship part would not take long we just have to do it.

Yes I do have copies, of everything, My lawyers do as well. They are even confused. As far as expediting goes, I want to expedite his I-601 the waiver for iniadmissability...if this is possible.. I read the document, it says that the sponsorship information was missing, but they have copies of what they sent in, and I have copies of the same documents. I truely believe The embassy in guatemala misplaced the affidavit of support as well as my tax copies.. Their even asking for proof of citizenship, everything that goes along with being a sponsor they want...i am so frustrated, I even called to see why they are asking for these things and they wouldnt help me, told me he had to send all of those documents back in.  :(

Hello,  I just wanted to update this thread, I went down there, and talked to them...They did accept my updated sponsorship forms, turns out I was only 700.00 off, FOR THE YEAR, my lawyers mistake :(   I can not stress how important it is to pay attention to your own application, don't trust in a lawyer 100 percent, there have been many many mistakes in my case, this one cost me 3 months. NOw I must wait, but she did how ever apply for an expidite, whether or not it will be approved I will keep you all posted. thank you...

They have resceduled his date for February 25th... like 6 weeks from now..can you believe that -_- not cool.. I tried to tell him to go ahead and make the appointment, but we wanted to make sure he had the papers in hand before we made it... O well, so now we wait and pray, Thank you for all your input and I pray for you and your family as well...

Well, I just sent him the updated sponser ship forms, We are using me again, because I make well over the amount needed, in addition to my assets, I surpass the amount needed, I did write a letter to the officer in hopes that would help. As far as your comment about them being a third world country, just remeber the people that are the interviewers are actually american. Haha. But, one of the 3 years I made just under the bar and my lawyers didnt put my assets in there, becuase your assets count as money in hand...So I am praying I will pass it this time...He recieved the papers yesterday and will be making his next appointment today so I will let you know how long that takes...I wish you the best of luck, and keeping my fingers crossed this time :)

I have a good feeling he will pass this time...

I hope sleepy.gif

I have been employed at the community college for the past 4 years, I was over the guidelines every year, 2 years ago  i was a little bit under the CURRANT guideline, But, If you look back the guidelines in that year, I was still over them...So, I feel that I have been mistreated im tryihng to figure out how to contact the chief of the mission...Because, I do not understand this. Or, how it is even possible.

FYI for everyone, make sure your Sponsorship forms show as much money as possible as you can. Guatemala Embassy turned my down, and I make 25,600 a year, for a 3 person house hold, which is over the poverty guidlines. Well,, They turned me down, my lawyers did not add my assets, and so they are redoing this form with the assets added, All they can figure is that it was borderline and that is why she turned me down...This is sooo sad and depressing, especially when I am over the guidelines. There should be some way to contact and report this or complain, becuase I am well passed the guidelines... I am curious to see if this has happened to anyone else???? cray5ol.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMailing my I-129f tomorrow!

I've posted here once or twice before, but this is my first time making a progress post I think!

Tomorrow I am finally going to mail the I-129f package. I've been waiting for this moment for almost two years. It's been really tough getting everything together due to really really stupid things, but we're finally sending it in.

I really hope the package we send is good enough! We have physical proof as early as 2009 that we are a genuine couple. With the essential paperwork, photos, skype logs, letters, and plane tickets our package totals to about 90 pages long. I think we have things pretty solid here!

I've been doing this long distance thing for over six years, and I'm utterly ready to have it end. Please wish me luck on my journey! ;w;

thanks for the response guys! I knew he had to take those things, i just meant if he needed to take anything else, but we're covering our bases and he took some other paperwork with him in case we need them for the AOS!

I hope they don't hold him up too long when they screen him since his layover is kind of short x) Hoping for the best haha

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 visa approved! also question about passing border!

I'm a little late in posting this since his interview at the Vancouver embassy was almost two weeks ago, but I wanted to share that my fiance was approved! We were very elated and relieved. We've been together soooo long I'm so ready for the distance between us to close permanently ;w; I really want to thank everyone on this site for being so helpful and always answering questions and being very reassuring! I honestly have no idea how we would've done this if it weren't for VisaJourney. <3 <3

Also, quick question!! When he leaves to come here, does he need to bring anything specific with him besides the K1 visa he gets back from the embassy?? Does he need his birth certificate or any other documents? Thank you! :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOctober 2013 Filers

I thought the NOA2 would take a long time! I filed on the 17th of October and here I am, the 13th of November with an NOA2! I'm super excited. They are mailing our petition to our chosen consulate right now :D

Aren't these things supposed to take months? Not that I'm complaining or anything! I'm really stoked!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresconcerns about moving and co-sponsers
I probably am worrying too much! I'm just a little confused on a lot of stuff, but hopefully it all becomes more cleared once I actually begin the process with fiance (which will be within the week!)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresconcerns about moving and co-sponsers
I'm sure I'm just jumping ahead of myself for asking this so soon in the game (I've actually yet to start working on getting my fiance here to the States), but I have a few concerns:

Currently, I live in Virginia and the plan for me and my fiance is to be living in Ohio with a few of our friends sometime around July. The best case scenario would be for me to pick him up and bring him to states to get married and have everything settled by then.
I'm just a little concerned about this. We don't have a home picked out yet or anything. It's all too soon to figure all of that out. How will this affect our petitioning for the K-1? What address should I put when they ask about where my fiance plans to live? We will likely not have a home to move into until AFTER he moves down here in the States in July. I just have so many concerns about all of this. Does anyone have any helpful advice or experience on this? Anything regarding this would be really helpful!

Regarding co-sponsors: who would be eligible to be a co-sponsor? Do I even NEED a co-sponsor? I do work, but I'm just a server at Ruby Tuesday so my income is not that much. Would it be possible to have one of my future room-mates to be a co-sponsor, or do I need to use a relative such as my mother? I'm a little worried that he'll be denied a visa because of my job status ):

Thank you for any and all help <3

USCIS Service CentersVSC
What I want to know... Is why does VSC post their current processing time as 'five months'? Kind of ridiculous really.. It just gives people false expectations and is completely unrealistic and misrepresentative. Plus it actually makes USCIS's life more difficult, because more people must call and make service requests because they think they'll see NOA2 at five months.. Why don't they post it as six, or seven? At least that way people would have a more realistic expectation. Meh! So silly.

USCIS Service CentersVermont approvals?

I only noticed one approval yesterday/today, but I did notice that in another thread someone said they had been checking case numbers and they are still moving - remember not everyone is on Visa Journey so it's not always an accurate picture. Just take comfort in the knowledge that they are still working through these, even if it is very slow.. And annoying!

United KingdomRecent interviewees - do you have your passport yet??

Just curious on average how long does it usually take to get your passport back and who is the company for home delivery now?.. Sorry for not reading the forums.. today was the first day of school for my lil guy so i'm being tugged in 100 different directions lol tongue.png

I think I saw someone saying it's an average of 6 working days from the date of your interview, but it depends possibly on how straight forward your case is (do you have children, previous marriages etc) and also if you happen to be in administrative processing for a bit longer than others for whatever reason.

I think the home delivery courier is 'DX'. Hope that helps.

Pleased to report that my passport will be delivered tomorrow. YAAAAAAAS! Thanks so much for everyone's help, and I will continue to check in here if I can help in any way. Very best wishes and good luck to those still waiting, especially you guys that have been waiting longer than the 10 working days. Got all my fingers and toes crossed for you all.

Could you please tell me which numbers you called (or where you got them from?) I also think I missed a call from the couriers and need to contact them to supply an alternative number to call me on. That would be a great help! Thanks!

Got the call today finally! Had my interview on 6th August. Missed a call from them on 8th August, but they didn't get back to me til today, after a fair few times of badgering anyone I could at FX to help me. I actually had 2 calls today from 2 different people, first one just before 11am, and the other just after 12:30. I explained to the second caller I'd just paid and arranged the delivery a couple of hours earlier, but the system hadn't been updated or something, which gave me a fright. But then she left a voicemail a couple of hours later to confirm the system had been updated, so I'm getting my passport and visa this Monday between 6am and 8am.

Thanks so much! I'm giving that a bash.. They say they won't have my passport yet, which I find somewhat hard to believe given that everyone else from Thursday has their call and my CEAC number has said issued since Monday... Uuuurgh!

I had to keep pressing buttons as I didn't have the tracking number they wanted, eventually got through to someone to actually talk to and they took my address and checked system for parcels for me... might help you though mairead smile.png good luck! xXx

Yeah, there's a problem though.. I'm not at home to take the call, it's a long story. I really need to get in contact and supply them with my mobile number, it's ACTUALLY driving me insane. I can't get hold of an actual person at the embassy, it's driving me nuts.

I also had my interview on Thursday, and am yet to hear anything yet.. However, my CEAC status has changed to 'issued', so I expect to hear something this week. I'll also keep you posted! Let me know if you hear anything, also. :) I'm sure everything is fine, especially if your case is straight forward..

So I had my interview for my IR-1 visa on Thursday 8th August and was told the courier would call me to arrange payment and delivery of my passport. The interviewer said the couriers would have my passport within the next 72 hours and then contact me. Was expecting a call today but nothing. Heard a guy on here who had interview on Tuesday and the couriers called him on Thursday.

I'm probs just panicking again. Feels wrong to NOT have something to worry about now haha.

Just wondered if anyone else is still waiting after a few days (obviously I had the weekend between).

Thaaanks ??????

Guys my CEAC status was last updated July 2nd (that was with my medical results), I'd already phoned up to check they already had my other documents, including DS-2001, but I'm still waiting to be assigned an interview date. Is this normal? I phoned up DoS a couple of days ago and they said I still hadn't been assigned an interview date.

So my K1 Fiancee Visa was approved this morning at the London Embassy.. After reading all these posts though, I'm really worried about whether my passport will be redelivered promptly!

They said they will phone me to arrange delivery and payment.. Has anyone had any experience of this, how long does it take for them to call?

Also, as a follow-up question, other than getting my passport (with visa) and the sealed envelope back, is there anything else I categorically have to do before I fly to the states? Thanks!
