Interview scheduled....What do I need to prepare for financials?

Hey,
Am wondering what a W-2 is. Someone please explain. Ill be going for my K1 and I have the i134 and recent paystubs and a letter from my fiance's employer. Is this enough? Someone please advice.

Thanks a lot guys!! And yes! He filled the i-134 stating that the said amount will be made available to us every month.And that he has four kids 14-5Years of which he suPports patially. Also he stated that he has deposits of 170K. This is ok right?

Sorry, it seems I offended you (again) in trying to cover all bases regarding the posters question. I'm not sure why you show such bitterness in my comments or why you take such offense to them. I find it VERY hard to believe you haven't met a Nigerian family with more than 6 children in over 30 years. MYY goodness. I used to think you were pretty informative and experienced considering the hoops you had to jump through to bring your spouse to the States, but now I question your accuracy in what you say. 30 years really? hmmm....

Please I will need your candid advice on this. I have my k1 interview on the 26th of nov here in lagos nigeria. My fiancee is a final year medical student who will be graduating in may 2014. That is to say she hasn't been working and only depends on student loan. However,I have an uncle in.the states who promised to sponsor us. He earns 70,000dollars annually. He also promised to furnish us with 2000dollars monthly for six months. Is that ok ? Any red flag?

I can imagine how you and your fiancé must feel, we were very afraid too our emotions were rampant!!...and I can truly tell you to plan for PLAN B,C, and D and have lots of faith....Its too bad that wanting to be with your love has to be deemed by borders!!...and so much paperwork

After we got married in April of this year we just applied for marriage visa it is now in process, We are waiting for the outcome! and I pray we get approved. When my husband got denied his fiancé visa we both were devastated. so we went with plan (B) which was to go ahead and get married. We have been a total of 3 1/2 years together He lives in London now and I am in the U.S. waiting on our I-130 approval.

I went to him in March of this year to London and we got married there. I stayed with him for one month and a week after our wedding I returned to United States. We also had a foolish lawyer who told us the same thing, that all our papers, co-sponsors were in order and everything was strong and there wasn't any problems and that we should get the visa!....well wrongggggggg.

I hope everything works out for you and your fiancé.

Same thing happened to me and my then fiancé, now husband was denied visa but not by USCIS or NVC they approved us but once it got to his embassy in Bangladesh it was denied there!!...COLD BLOODED...and I believe my income wasn't enough, but I had a co-sponsor we had a BOOK of evidence but still got denied. That was a hurting moment it took a lot out of us but we maintained and never broke up after 1 1/2 years from denial we got married on April of this year.

Affidavit of Support

Hi everyone, I have a question about the Affidavit of Support form. My dad is co-sponsoring my fiancee and I was wondering what should he write under RELATIONSHIP? He's not yet a son-in-law because we're not married. What should he put?

EDIT: On a related note, what should he do if he runs out of space in the dependents section? do we have to do another form just for that?

Forms ds-160 and I-134?

One of the question asked on form DS-160 is who is going to pay for my fiance to come here to the USA, which would be me but it asked the following: did that person, which is me, file a form I-134. Now, I can fill up form I-134 but my concern is, "I'm a brand new nurse, only 6 months in and i think i meet the needs for salary per year for the affidavit of support but i havn't paid any taxes so technically, my salary now is only what i've made for that 6 months. I don't know if that made any sense to anyone haha.

for forms I-134, how will I prove on the form that i make a certain amount for one year with out actually having to show any tax forms saying i make a certain amount per year?

He divorced at Harris County District Clerk Houston, TX.

This is easy. He can walk into the clerk's office, and they will find his divorce decree, and then print it out for him, and certify it, all for a fee.

If he is not living nearby anymore - a friend in Houston can do it for him, then mail it out to your boyfriend.

He just has to call the courthouse..they will tell him to send a $5 fee and he just has to write on a piece of paper with the check enclosed..I would like a certified copy of my divorce..VERY easy and fast//he can request more certified copies if needed..just $5 each..I had to do this as well..I got 4 certified copies JUST to be safe

In Harris County, in Houston, it's 1 dollar per page - not the 5 fee you mention, for a certified copy.

I suggest to chase after the certified copy, now. Why? It has the seal. Showing the seal is important. Since this is an RFE for an I-129F - is easy to submit a photocopy of the certified copy (showing the seals).

Later, on interview day, this certified copy must be shown, as well, so it's:

1. photocopy of certified copy with I-129F submittal (or in response to an RFE) and

2. certified copy presented on interview day.

sorry - the petitioner is the primary sponsor and has a list of docs that are required.

for which docs - it varies by US Embassy/IV Unit - but in general - must to show:

1. one year of prior year (2012 at the moment) and

2. a letter from employer showing current annual income (2013 at the moment)

3. optional - pay stubs in 2013.

even if all of 'that' proves up that the Petitioner falls short of the mark listed in I-864P .

The I-134 is not optional for the petitioner, even if zero income.

this friend has issues at USCIS.

The I-134 is evaluated by the Department of State, Immigrant Visa Unit, on interview day.

Not the same offices, not the same rules, not even the same documents.

So, so far, this 'immigration specialist' is not addressing the things that were wrong with the I-129F and the I-129F submittal into USCIS.

The IV Unit has a stack of I-134s from 1994, and has never gotten replenished for the new form.

Suggest you look at the OMB notice around the form, itself, let us know about the year and OMB form number .

I-129 versus I-130 opinion!

i just looked through requirement for AOS which is a very similar procedure for K-1. i can't believe we gotta go through all this again, with all the docs and forms and etc, etc... BUT i'm trying to stay positive about it all... i guess the challenges do sharp us after all.

my thoughts that I can do nothing about now, are: should have gotten married here in my country and then filed for I-130 and AOS at the same time and be over with it :/ missing my lovie so much... prayers, positive comments and encouragements are appreciated!

my goal is not the AOS or citizenship, really. the goal is to be married, live wherever and be able to work... so what if we don't file for AOS after I get my K-1? would i be able to renew my EAD without an AOS? I guess not really... right? cuz AOS is all about making sure i don't lose my "legal status" and get a green card which should enable me to stay legal... what other benefits this whole green card thing gives me anyways, other than the fact that i am a legal resident there? can I just be married and be able to work without the green card for several years before my lovie and I move back overseas... I am not sure if i want to lose my Kyrgyz citizenship... maybe I will want to later... but for now, i just want to get married, be "legal" after I get married with my K-1, and be able to work and live happily ever after with my babes...

i am sorry if i seem like i am throwing a lot of emotions into this... But don't want to be frustrated.

Can I scan signature ??

Buried here in VJ, is some 'instruction' from pushbrk on this signature, for K-1 filers -

(I am paraphrasing)

for the beneficiary's G-325A - some folk have written, in the signature block 'Beneficiary will sign during the IV Interview' and it's gone all the way through, no RFE for missing a signature.

Now, I'm not a K-1 filer, but I put the same in my wife's G-325A form when filing the I-130 last year, and she signed a G-325A on her interview day back on the 10th.

Well, i figured out the BS factor and now I am pissed. I actually lived with her and everything was fine. The last few weeks I have been fed a bunch of lies. When I confront her saying I know she lied about something and I just ask her to tell the truth. It is all I want. The embassy in Kiev contacted me and said she never even scheduled an interview. I did get her on the phone today and I will speak to her in a few minutes on Skype. She does not know I know the truth. This will be interesting.

Well, I hope you got some info from the DoS Visa Hotline, or some lack of info.

when submitting an I-130 and again with the DS-230, one submits bonafide marriage evidence (per the instructions in the I-130) . There's a list of 6 types. It's similar to the list of things when filing for an ROC casefile.

When I try to get the number for the Vermont Center, I keep getting the National Customer Service for USCIS. I am trying to find the KEV as you suggested.
