There was some problems in August with 'the wrong guidelines' being implemented for the Chicago lockbox -
many I-130's were returned with address problems (addresses IN the forms), and for the most part, these 'refusals' were done in error.

Suggest you use the email address, for an inquiry, at http://www.visajourn...ost__p__4114010

but do read that entire thread, as well.

I'd like to join up yer logic with casefile status -
marry it together -

There's
'avr / letter says case complete' which is really 'documents complete'
then there's 'final review'
then there's 'place in appointment queue'
then there's 'appointment scheduling' (if NVC does this for Thai Embassy or not)
then there's 'ship casefile to Embassy'

I'm sorry, just because NVC says 'we have all yer stuff' does not mean NVC processing is finished, at all.

The letter that he's received, has no mention of 'final review', and that is taking 3 weeks or more, currently. Scheduling or shipping (depending) won't occur until the final review is finished. 'casefile complete' is not 'final review', at all.

I'm sure we can agree on one or more things, yes?

Not sure why you need to call NVC , they just gave you a case status update.

NVC knows much for casefile status, why would one NOT call NVC for getting casefile status?

I'm terribly sorry, I find yer logic on 'not calling NVC' to be flawed.
DarnellMaleChina2010-10-09 12:05:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPreparation for an Interview at US Embassy --Thailand
It would be a good thing, if you knew (exactly)
if NVC sets the appointment
or
if the Embassy sets the appointment.

Suggest you call into NVC, get a Human, and inquire.

There's some other steps now, for the casefile, at NVC -
--final review
--scheduling (if NVC does this)
--appointment letter sent out via email (if NVC does this)

so, call in to NVC, get a Human, inquire about casefile status,
and ask
--when is final review going to start? or
--when will final review be finished ? and
--do YOU set the appointment or will the appointment be set by Thailand after the casefile arrives in Thailand?

I tried studying the VJ Embassy page for Thailand, over at http://www.visajourn...and&cty=Bangkok - but there's no direct info there about CR-1s coming from NVC, at all (if you feel inclined, it'd be great if you could add to that page, when you have time, when you learn stuff)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHas anyone had AP after consulate asked to send passport in?

Hey welllllll... I am confused!
My husbands passport hasn't been sent back to us from the Jerusalem consulate yet. Counting today that would make it a total of 8 days since we sent it in.
Now I called DOS about 20 minutes ago and this is thier reply.
I gave the man my husbands case number, DOB, and name. I told him that he was called by an official and told to send in his passport last Tuesday to the consulate to have his visa stamped on it since he was approved.
The man told me.. "ma'am, it doesn't say here that your husband has been approved. Maybe the Jerusalem counsulate hasn't updated thier system to show he has actually been approved. If they told you to send in the passport for visa issue, that means they most likely approved it and you have to wait for them to send the passport with visa back."
OK.. I ask him does it say he is in AP? He says.. " it says here he is in administrative processing, and that they requested his passport."
Im thinking maybe he is/was in adminsitrative processing bc of the additional documents we were asked to submit?? But then again we sent them in, and we got the call LAST WEEK telling us that he was approved and that he had to send in the passport to have visa stamped on it! Also that he had 5 months to leave to AMerica b4 the visa expires!!!
SOmeone help.. this is so unfair. What does this mean? Is he in AP???? Is he actually approved but the system here in Jerusalem didn't update his status??

Keep calling back, every 3 days -
things progress, you'll know some new status each time.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHas anyone had AP after consulate asked to send passport in?
Suggest you call DoS Hotline every 3 days - ask for 'case status', also ask specifically 'Is this case placed in AP?'
Generally DOS Hotline staff not tell you this in any general chitchat -
YOU MUST ASK SPECIFICALLY.
They will answer you, yes or no.

Casefile status things to check for, with the DoS Hotline:
1. Passport received (Date)
2. Visa Printed/attached to Passport (Date)
3. Placed in AP (Date)
4. Sent out via Courier (Date)

Good Luck !
(Dos Hotline is NOT the Embassy in East Jerusalem, it's a national service in USA, must call when open)

Also When my wife received DS-3032, she used her Pakistan's address to receive future mails but it seems like she is not getting any. is it possible to choose an agent at this point for future mails? Whats the fastest way of doing it? i was reading on another forum about emailing NVC regarding this matter.

Oh Man. sounds like red tape / paperwork nightmare.

First, did you file 2 petitions, 2 I-130's - one for spouse, one for child?
IF NOT - then you prolly need to file a new I-130 for the child, soonish.

I've an expedite process outlined here on VJ - let me know if you can't find it (use the advanced search too, with 'expedite' as search term, then user name 'Darnell', then 'show as posts' .

If you are paying BOTH petition fees at NVC - then yer golden. No need to file new I-130 petition for child.

as for 'foreign spouse receiving postal mail and forms via postal mail' - sorry buddy, that isn't done so much, this decade.
Get yer spouse and child some forms via web download (then email to her)

re: AOS and DS-230 together -
SURE !
Many people do that, usually they wait until the IV fee bill has been marked as 'paid' on the online payment portal,
then
send in the AOS and IV packets together, into NVC. It's done often, it's 'allowed' and IMO, is actually faster than any 'two mailers'.

Good Luck !!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPAid IV Processing Today: What happens now?

if im not mistaking, i think for pakistani spouse visa applications are not allowed to go fast route through emails. it was written in forms that was sent to me along wit ds3032 that only certain countries are allowed to do the email, the rest gota go the slow route by mailing everything unfortunetly. i could be wrong?

My apologies - 'we' have a difference of opinion for what 'postal notification from NVC' truly means.

I know it to mean -

NVC sends out a postal mailer to beneficiary or petitioner (depending) to 'make notice' to 'someone' for 'what next to send' into NVC.

IMO, and IME, 'going postal' with NVC, to wait on NVC postal notifications, takes about 9 months from start to finish. This is the 'go slow' mode.

Instead, anyone, any country, can 'go fast' by monitoring the online payment portal status, and sending things INTO NVC based on online payment portal status.

Just for grins, just for some knowledge acquisition, I suggest to you, to READ the content over at http://www.visajourn...ost__p__3560467
and then examine yer current plan for dealing with NVC
and then
refactor that 'current plan'
and then refactor it again, to match up the steps outlined over at http://www.visajourn...ost__p__3560467

It has nothing to do with NVC EP, and nothing to do with 'emails' that are sent IN to NVC.
No No, don't ask me about the mini-how-to over at http://www.visajourn...ost__p__3560467
- instead - read it. Truly READ IT. Then - take pencil to paper, map out yer (new) plan .

Then do it again.

And... one more time, yes, a third time.

I'm betting by 'the third time' that you've outline yer new plan - you'll understand it thoroughly, and then,
can
GO FAST.

Good Luck ! (or something)

you have chosen (knowingly or unknowingly)
the
'go slow ' mode.

'Go Slow' sucks, mostly.

and then

Let me Know - if!?!?!!??!

Seriously - I've outlined, to you, a process that works.
It's Up To You™, to decide to 'make that path'
or not.

------------------
reasonable amount of time = 5 weeks, from start to finish.
-----------
my apologies IF I seem argumentative - Truly - no one cares about yer casefile MORE THAN YOU - I only suggest 'what to do', to streamline an already 'paperwork laden' process - in the hopes that you'll understand that there is really an 'approved process' for the thing that you wish to accomplish - ie - the proper documentiary procedure for 'passing' the fingerprints into NVC.

IMO, you still need to decide 'how to do', and 'what to do'. It pains me, much, that you still need to think, still need to decide, for 'what to do' ............. but - in time, I sense - you'll twig to the concept of 'Good Lord, I need PCC for NVC Processing !!!!!!!!!!!!! '

Get an immigration attorney, pay $$$$$$$ for their opinion on your status on YOUR casefile, and GO FORTH !!!! I'll remind you, here and now, that VisaJourney.Com is a 'DIY' web portal, with a major emphasis on 'D' and 'Y'. If you choose to ignore 'D' - DO - and 'Y' - Yourself' - then you've only yourself to blame for any knowledge acquisition. Knowledge is Power - How Powerful do you wish to be?

Seriously, there's only one way to vette my position, vette my opinion- and it's that -

you must engage with an Immigration Attorney, to go over yer entire casefile, all that you've already submitted... (I'll remind you, in passing, that VJ is a DIY immigration web portal, with the base concept that most Immigration Attornies are useless, and a secondary presumption that YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! know and understand exactly what the filing process is all 'about'..... ) and..... Any Knowledge that you gain, along the way, in the path, IS YOURS !!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Good Luck, for whatever path you decide to take. Vette yer data, Vette yer path, ALWAYS !

so - going to a police department with the FBI finger print card, in Brussels, didn't work out for her?

I would have thought that IF she presented
--FBI finger print card(blank) and
--prepaid global mailer to RCMP address and
--cover letter from her to RCMP inside the prepaid global mailer and
--authentication letters from the local police department and
--prepaid return envelope for RCMP to use, to send to her address in Brussels

via postal mail to RCMP, sent from the police office in Brussels,

then all could be handled, within a reasonable amount of time. IMO, doing it that way covers all the bases, the request with the fingerprints is sent FROM a police office in Brussels, direct to RCMP in Canada.

assets on a 401K, retirement fund, can be used - but
must take the 'evaluation' at a lesser amount -
so ask yer wife to dig out her portfolio documents

then
find out the 'cash out penalty' percentage - run the math, then
with the new computation, subtract the tax (could be as high as 35 percent)
