K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Do I only need to file 1 copy of the K-1 package?	You only send in one set of papers- keeping 2 cioies for your own record is recommended. BUT be sure you are not sending in copies of the original USCIS forms. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	How long?	Yeah I knew about AP but I was worried about going that route. See my best friend who is going to be my maid of honour is studying abroad in Germany, and won't be back until May. So we can't get married until at least June, that would be cutting it close (if we are even approved by then) to get married and get the AP in time for him to travel. Good luck with timing everything. Its my least favorite part of this process- to have so much left uncertain because life goes on. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	How long?	Hey guys. Quick question. I was wanting to make sure about something, after you get your visa approval, you have 6 months to "activate" the visa then 90 days from that date to get married right? Activation date being the day you leave for the U.S. I just wanted to make sure because my fiance and I sent out our petition at the beginning of this month, and we found out that his sister is getting married next October. He obviously doesn't want to miss her wedding. I'm just afraid that if we get it too soon he won't be adjusted to permanent resident yet and won't be able to go back home for the wedding. correct aout having to use the visa to enter the US within 6 months and get married within 90 days after arrival in the US. Once you are married and file for AOS you can also file for Advance Parole (AP) which will allow your fiance to travel abroad before approval of the AOS. Here's wishing everyone left a speedy end to the wait. It is also nice to see NOA2s starting to appear only a week ahead of where I am ....trying not to get hopes up, but its tempting. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Updates vs. Touches	I have an account set up and my check was cashed on 9/18 and I was given a receipt number. I've been checking constantly since then because 9/19 and 9/20 my account was updated. Now I just clicked where it says "Last updated" and today's date came up. That is why I wanted to know if it means that my account was looked at today? If so...is there anyway for me to know if it was looked at before today? I know it could mean nothing but the idea that it could is exciting. I just tried what you tried- clicking the last update but it does not change my date. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	I-129F approval expiration date.	What Does the experation date on an I-129F really mean? It means that you need to have the visa issued prior to that date. If in the event that the consulate is slow and cannot issue such visa in that time frame an extention of time of 4mos can be approved. It is not an automatic item and if you find yourself approaching that date then you should request such an extension. A sample request form is located in the sample forms section Thank you, 2 rather different answers! She told me she remembers the difficult part, but after it was over, it was easier to forget the pain and even remember it fondly as a special part of their early relationship. The automated response system isn't reliable and even if you ask by email, you will not be told the date the petition was shipped to the US Consulate. The automated ystem doesn't work for K-1s. They are never entered into the system. You need to talk to a live person. You can also track shipments from NVC to the consulate by using DHL website. You won;t know for sure i fyour petition is in the budle but you wil lknow what dates these packages arrive at the consule and can try contracting the consulate to check with them if it has arrived. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Amazing	I understand what you're saying... but I'm just past 90 days (which to you IMBRA filers is nothing).. but based on the rate of approvals of people who filed after me, and since I used the new forms and I haven't gotten any RFE's, then it might be that I'm going to have to wait for awhile... for no apparent reason other than CSC's method of not approving cases in any kind of order. Don't be discouraged. I know there are are lot of late august filers getting approved, but everey case takes a differrenet amount of time to process (verifyinng information, identification ect,) I am sure you will hear something soon. Some people have reported not getting these updates and others have said they found these emails going to their junk folders. Calles CSC, was transferred to a contractor who told me there was nothing she could do.I told her in a nice way to kiss my ###. Have you called them to try to find out why it's taking so long? Maybe the "petition" would clear out if you stopped changing your fiance. First you were in love int he Ukraine, then you were in love in Mozambique and not you are in love in Uzbekistan.
