There was a posting here a few months back showing a memo at USCIS instructing that some fiance information missing should not prohibit the approval because it can be handled at the consulate level. Not all adjuticators will follow this advice however. So I wouldn't worry about this yet. You might be in goo shape since it is just one page out of the four. I meant to ask... what if the I-129F expires while the case is still on process? Yes then definatley will need one fro Japan. The approved petition is good for 4 months from your NOA2 date but the Consulate has the authority to extend it for an additional 4 months if necessary. I have been checking the USCIS website and have registered an account with them with email notification turned on. So I was surprised to learn that my fiance's visa packet has been approved by the NVC. Do they ever update the information on the government website? Does anyone ever get an email saying there packet has had any activity on it? the notification is sometimes a little haphazard..like in your case. We are going to file for the fiance visa, but in the meantime (while the fiance visa is being processed), can he live here with me on a visitor visa? I'm sorry if that's a stupid question, but my brain is literally fried from all this red tape immigration stuff. Are there any other options regarding him living here? Lots of American-Canadian couples here who can give you more specific advice, but in general he will be able to visit you during the process. It is possible he could be denied entry if the immigration officers suspect he may be trying to immigrate ahead of the fiance visa. He should always arrive at the border prepared to show ties to his home. That's true You also have to keep in mind that 120 out of those 224 days the application was just "gathering dust" in the corner of somebody's desk due to the IMBRA law that took effect 3 days before USCIS received it. I don't think your cases are going to go through the same wait- I hope! - since they already have a system and the forms required to comply with the new law. We've seen this already with the quick 2-3 month approvals coming from CSC. So please don't get discouraged by what the timelines say, hey I had mine saying that our case could be approved as soon as July for 3 months! What a nice post! I joined VJ back in June and I remember so many couples like you just stuck and waiting. You always had a postive attitude here in the forums. When you filed you did meet the 2 year requirement right? so it should have no bearing on the NOA2. But you have been waiting a long time. (I went from Texas to California and it went pretty quickly) Your NOA1 could come first by regular mail or your check might be cashed first and you can get the case number from the back. There doesn't seem to be any real consistency on how this happens. Youcan see my timeline in my signature line to see how my application was handled.
