K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Visitors visa while wait for K-1 approval.	Just called them they are still on Jan 16th , he said from what he sees in his system everything is in order . They just waiting for the final decision , if there was anything questionable we would have got a letter to clarify or bring proof or something so to just be a bit patient and try back in 2 weeks at the latest Don't get hung up with what day or week they are processing. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Any Requirement For Education Level?	Thanks for the responses. I did not word my question correctly, sigh. So yes we list the school stuff on the DS-230, what I meanat to ask is where are the requirements if any. Fo rexample we fill out the I-134 and we look at I-1864P where it shows clearly what incoem level is necessary. So like Penguin said, is there no requirement? Like are they looking for double Doctorate degrees in space exploration with a published thesis on microbiology in Popular Mechanics??? there are no requrements. Still don't get the question. They are looking for (at least DS-230) all schools attended since high school your degree or diploma and what course of study. But there's no requirement to go to school. Many immigrates have left that as None cuz they didn't go. I know someone there husband didn't finsih elementary school so that field was None. You know it was weird I filed my 2011 taxes and did the filing separate since I didn't have the ITN number and did like I read on VJ. No issues no probles didn't owe any taxes didn't have to pay. But it was so cool to get my Tax Transcript addressed to dwheels and dchase Bonaparte. It ws liek wow now we are in the government system as mr and mrs. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Checklist (Missing Documents	Good Evening, Visa Journey Brothers and Sisters I got a little hang up today with the Visa Center and I wanted to ask a question. Apparently I screwed up and did not send the original Marriage Certificate and Birth Certificate. I have both. I know, I was foolish for not sending in the originals the first time around. My questions is, How much will this hold up my case? They got back to me in less than one week with the checklist and I am curious how badly this will hold me up. Damn that's a shame, thanks for clearing it up but it sucks that we're likely not going to be together until well into the new year. When we filed we had optimistic hopes of being together for Christmas. Feel silly now. :[ Dear you never know. You could be that special one that gets processed in 3 months or immediately. It happenes you will see people get approvals in a month without a DCF, expedite its lightening in a bottle. And even when you can work, good luck finding a decent job in this economy. Unless she can find a co-sponsor, this will not work. These are the kinds of things couples should think about before hastily rushing into a fiancee visa. Thats if they plan to marry soon as he arrives. I think OP you are ,issing the point on assets. You can't be your own sponsor. And you asked about "But what do you mean saying "reachable by US government"? " Meaning can the US government seize said property. In some countries they can not. The sponsorship is all about asuring the US government that the immigrate will not be a piblic charge is all. Also you figure at best you marry within days of getting here you file the AOS another $1075 and now you wait. Right now its taking about 6 months. You may get interview you may not need one. In I-134 there's no opportunity to show a beneficiary assets, but in I-864 there is a special section for that. The I-864 is for married couples. The assets has to be hers. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Not the end of the world	UPDATE The Argentine embassy in Kiev provided my fiancee with the name of a law firm in Argentina that they have worked with in the past. I sent them an email and received a message back that this can be handled within a few weeks. Hopefully. Just so everyone has this info, here's the scoop: Fiancee goes to embassy, signs a proxy that is countersigned by a consular officer authorizing the attorney to act on her behalf; then gets fingerprinted and signs the fingerprint card; then makes copies of the info pages from her passport and the embassy certifies the copies. These items are then transmitted to the attorney, either electronically if the embassy has the ability, or by courier. The attorney then goes to the ministry of justice and obtains the police certificate; my understanding is that it is provided online. The materials are returned to my fiancee via FedEx or DHL. She goes online and prints the certificate. The cost of this entire process is 290 Euros. Not bad. Hey Congrats and way to do your due diligence. As for me, I requested a letter from my employer, have 6 months pay stub and 2011 tax transcript. I am skeptical including "10 &"09 tax transcript because prior to 2010 I was a full time student and hardly made anything. That was why I decided to include a cosponsor. But I currently make above the line if we are only going off my current income. I just want to make sure am on the right track. I need to pray more and worry less. Thanks for your response First amen on the pray more worry less. I am in the same boat. 2011 was nothing I was living with husband in Nigeria. But current is great. Its about what you make now. The government just wants to make sure they won;t become a public charge you should be fine. But I would ask your co-sponsor to get tax transcripts instead of all thse forms and W2's and such. My cosponsor however checked the box "i do not intend" and included k1 for permanent residence on the form i-134, on mine i didn't check any because I used the sample on visa journey. Please those of you who have gone through lagos will this work? also is the co-sponsor"s W2 enough? our interview is a month away, and i really need to fedex these items ASAP. thanks you, I await response.(please pardon me I am over thinking everything) 1. My cosponsor however checked the box "i do not intend" That's fine just means they are financially supporting you. Long as you are showing you have some means to take care of your fiance soon to be husband you should be fine. Like living with relatives. 2. and included k1 for permanent residence on the form i-134, You mean the Petitioners address the co-sponsor put down as their address?? 3. The co-sponsor"s W2 enough? You need to be ordering the last 3 years transcripts for them and for you. It will only take about 8 days so you need to order now. They need to see complete filings for those years. Also your Co-sponsors Letter of employment stating their current salary, paystubs Whether it will work or not i would gather depends on how well you show you will support your fiance'. If you are working (I gather you are under the poverty line) but you need to also have your paystubs, letter of employment. Uhgg still no notification that it was received through email or text it was sent last Friday so it's been almost a week is there any other way of knowing other then checking to see if the cheque was cashed *getting nervous!* Since you don't have your tracking receipt just waiting for the NOA1 (Notice of Action) letter in mail. If you also completed the G-1145 for email and text notice you may get that. Don't count on it. Most do not. And know it could take 30 days to get your harcopy letter in mail that will have your Receipt #. So hold on its still early. I'm not saying that I dont believe what you say for I have heard things straight from people that I know, But I'm wondering if they dont give the reasons for denial how do some people know what the red flags are? or do they give reasons for denial? If someone have been denied for any of the reason that I have mentioned above please I'm not being funny but I would like to convo with you one on one if you dont mind. Thanks in advance:)) Sure many are told the reason for denial and yes and most are told "we believe this to be for immigration purposes". I have asked around and it seem when they think that way they may not tell all because well what if you fix it and it really is for that reason. I have many friends here on VJ and not on VJ who have been denied either going the K1 route first and denied or the spousal Visa and denied and now they are doing the 2nd or 3rd interview. Here are some reasons I can list. These are actual denials put in letters from the embassy. 1. Visits to short 2. Married too soon after meeting and short visit 3. Filed too soon after marriage 4. Didn't have a church wedding 5. No pictures with family or friends 6. Communications (IM's, emails, chats, letters) didn't show genuine love netween husband and wife 7. Husband send poems used by scammers 8. Wife past childbearing years 9. Divorced and married too soon 10. Petitioner has many kids from many relationships 11. Different religion 12. Its not about the age, race, religion. Its about building that foundation that relationship and presenting your evidence so a total stranger cane see it. It's great you have had some visits in and spend time, Nigeria is a tough embassy don't know about your embassy but face time is invaluable, also pictures with fruends and family is a must. So make sure you have all that in your initial packet when you file. We call it front-loading. Your petition is whar will be in the hands of the CO at intervew time months and months after you file. Not everybody who takes boxs and boatloads of evidence to interview get to show it so you want that CO to read whatever love story you have for them. Don't dwell so much on ager (heck 10 years difference isn't anything). I've been emailing back and forth with chase bank customer service and whoever i was speaking with has told me that i do not need to sign it only the receiver needs to sign it to cash it....i just need to print my name where it asks me to along with my address and then put the receivers name and address...i guess this what i will be doing then if my bank says the money order does not to be signed...sound good? Thats fine alot of confusion here though. I thought the initial question was whether to put your name on moneyorder which you do. Print your name or signature no matter. Just get your name on it as purchaser. You are sending to a BIG place with aklot of papers you want you rname on it. I just pulled out mine I filled in Pay to the order ofL US Department of Homeland Security, Than it has Purchaser: thats me, Address: That is me. A money order is basically a check. Now you sure your is a Chase Money Order and not a Cashiers check? There is a difference. Did you fill in the information or did they do that electronically? On a money order you ae fillling out the first (just like a check) and the person to whom the money order is from will endorse the back. Red the Islamabad AP thread.Pakistan are thrown in to Mandatory AP and some been waiting over a year and longer. So I gather you were denied at interview and your case is being sent back to USCIS and you are waiting on a decision? It is time consuming its not like they are jumping over barrels to rush to render a decision I am afraid. Its alot of time. What was the reason for denial? Have you been able to address the denial issues and be ready with evidence to combat it? Because if you get a NOIR you will only have 30 days to present your evidence and send in. So you need to know if you don't already know why the denial and what you need to do to overcone it. I gather your case has already left the embassy? It will be okay but you have to get tough and hit them with what they want evidence. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status. This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your case. This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit. You MAY NOT present this notice as evidence that you have been granted any immigration status or benefit. Further, this notice does NOT constitute evidence that your case remains pending with USCIS. The current status of your case must be verified with USCIS. Yes ths is what we call NOA1. Now you can got to the uscis.gov site and register your receipt number (be sure to signuop for text and email) so you get that much anticipated NOA2 via text and email. Even though my plan was to stay 2 months I stayed 6 1/2 so 4 months no pills was scared to death because that was the height of rain season. But the Polio and typhoid because of the water you better take. After 2 months I felt brave and a real 9ja woman and started drinking the tab water. To the horror of my family who thought the American had lost her mind. Funny my family doesn't even drink but bottle water. I got them to start doing the tap though we are all fine. And my husbands cousin that was going to school in Port Harcourt got typhoid while I was there. Actually, died twice revived she is still mending after a 1 year later. Hate to say if you are over a certain age its no time to skimp on the precautions. Our frail protected American bodies well they need exposure and meds. I even have filers inside the folder for her to repalce with stuff that she has such as her letter of intent. The prepared person lives nothing to chance. This is the order that "I" am using. I recently ordered 4 years worth (internet) and received in 1 week. I was just thinking about this when i was out and about wondering what address OP has on file with IRS. That may be why. Is this normal? Has anyone experienced same? What am I missing? Please advise when u ordered online it said accepted and its being sent? You need to call and speak to a live person. It shouldn't take longer than about 7 to 10 days. Have you gone to the USCIS.gov website and registered your receipt # (thats the EAC XXXXXXX). There you can sign up for email and text notification. Thats how you will know you are approved about 5 to 7 months from now. And of course the hardcopy notification in the mail at that point. Afetr that approval than you can call away to NVC. Also you have to realize the adjudication dates are estimates here on VJ based on people who do file in timelines. So everytime someone inputs a NOA1 dates get pushed.
