i sent everything the lawyer asked for and what was asked on the 129f as it only gave space for 2 divorces. Also back in feburary the lawyer asked how many but she only told me send the last 2. If was a problem why uscis approved it. is there anyone i can talk to that knows the hard answer?

my lawyer just sent email asking how many times i had been married i replied we had talked about this over 8 months she and sveta knows now lawyer tells me send sveta the divorce papers beyond the 2 listed on the 129f is this truely needed sveta has full copies of the last 2 divorces the others are in another state and sveta has visa interview in 1 week

what I would do myself is start getting the paper work together as we know there is alot. send the papers to your girlfriend and have her mail them back to you signed just not dated this takes about 3 weeks ( you to her/her to you ) postal this will save alot in express fees then once your wait time is up pop into post office and send

Question about proof for onging relationship for interview

Yep, you can have all of your text records emailed to you in an excel format - then you can edit it and send the messages that you want with dates. I'm in the same situation with using Viber for phone calls so I print screened many, many shots of the call log and emailed them to myself as well.

I would love to know how to do a screen shot of the viber logs? i already email all conversation logs to myself for future use.

We faced the same issue this past year. In our case, we finally determined it wasn't worth the grief, the K-1 process caused us enough stress. I kept visiting her in China (four times).

Visiting while waiting for NOA2 ???

My fiancée would love to visit me in February for two weeks but I'm sure it would be next to impossible for a tourist visa to be approved considering he
is middle eastern and 26 ?? Does anyone know if our having filed for the K1 visa would make it easier or harder for him to get a tourist visa ?

Does anyone knows it would help if I sent a letter to the consulate , like an invitation letter , explaining we are in the K1process and he would be returning to graduate by summer and hopefully be eventually approved so we can be married ??

I have been to Jordan 4 times since October 2011 and I can't keep making this journey - I would love for him to visit

Any advice would be so appreciated !

My husband and I went through Amman with CR1, I am 21 years older, it wasn't an issue. If he is Muslim, the bigger issue with the consulate in Amman will be that "dating" isn't allowed before marriage, so you will be asked what his family thinks and feels about this. Best of luck, I really miss Jordan, I am hoping we will be able to get back for a visit this year.

I'm praying for the best ... Also miss Jordan - don't think i will be going back until his interview ... The family deal is going to be a tough one but we will overcome that obstacle in time - just counting the minutes till our NOA2 . how is your husband adjusting ? Is life here in the states what he thought it would be ??

Age gap - Education level difference K1

I know your worries as they are mine also - he is 20 years younger than me ( its never been an issue , people assume he is older than me, I take excellent care of myself) but it still scares me - we have been together 1 year 1/2 i have made 4 trips to see him and have loads and loads of proof of our relationship but i still sometimes drive myself crazy wondering what will happen if we are denied. There are other couples on this board who have the age difference and were approved and that helps me calm down....

i think as long as the relationship is real and the love it there it will be evident and all will be fine...

Just filed my I-129F ...

(We filed the 10th, received the 11th, NOA1 today the 16th)

We are wondering the same thing! Christopher has had extensive background checks for NSSE's. It would be nice if these counted in our favour!

No kidding! And how funny that you just recently filed too! My fiance and I discussed it and the amount of time it took me to get my official government badge was a month or more because of the background check and FBI investigation verifying my residences and places of employment in the past 5 years or so.

Just filed my I-129F ...

Hello all,

I sent my I-129F last night and they received it this morning at the Lewisville, TX lockbox. (Luckily, I'm already IN Texas!

)

I am new to this forum, obviously, and wanted to know if any of you would know if the processing time would be faster if I already have government clearance? I work for a government facility (a very very big one with confidential materials) and to get this job, I had to go through a process to receive government clearance to be able to work with proprietary information and the FBI ran my background check, they took my fingerprints, my family and friends were questioned, the whole shebang.

I was wondering, since I already have that extensive background check, once the USCIS office or whomever sees that, will that possibly speed up the processing time? I know they will still need to do a background check on my fiance, but I thought maybe that would speed things up a bit!

I appreciate any comments or personal stories relating to my inquiry.

Visiting Her Before Filing Her Annulment ??

i have heard from one of the VJ member here that during their interview, they were asked with dates, then they met and become bf/gf before the annulment case was approved on the Guy and his Ex-wife, they were not approved. I am not sure if they get denied or asked with more information and proof of genuine relationship.

I'd like to ask if i will have any problem with my papers for k1. NOA2 was october. Supposed interview was november but was moved to january 2013 due to sputum exam. I was 23 years old then. Now I am 24. Will that be a problem during the interview? Because there are parts in the package that says i am 23 years old. :unsure:

got a 221(g) white form for K1 visa

just wondering in regards to the income of the petitioner (I know theres a certain amount you have to make to be able to support the beneficiary too I think it has to be more than 15 or 16k yearly not exactly sure) but my question is the embassy in manila looking for a certain abount $$$ the petitioner has to make a month so they can say you can support the fiance while shes not working or theyll just look at the W2?

Asking because our interview will be at the manila embassy too.

on the form I downloaded off the USCIS website, i jsut read the form expires on 8/31/12, does this matter? Should I be looking for a new form somewhere??? Also, since we are just now submitting our 129f package there is no A number to be filled in on the form, we just leave that blank until they assign us one, is this correct? Should we be writting none is all empty blanks?

I am following the sample. Putting none in the first blank for each question. Don't know if it is right or not, but thats what we have done. My forms are currently in transit from my fiance to me so I can send them in... I figured if it is a sample they publish, it probably is correct.

As a more general answer to your question, this process is long, more than 4 years before your fiance becomes a citizen and there may be reasons to send original documents, signatures etc., back and forth during the process, for both the immigration process and life in general (oh YES, there is life after immigration!)

Never forget that Fedex and UPS go everywhere...quickly and the postal services of both countries go everywhere also...not so quickly.

I thought citizen process was 2 years... Being from UA, did you have difficulty sending through Fedex or UPS... quickly? He is in Shostka... What was your time frame on that part... Seriously I get so stressed trying to do all of this, and plan a wedding.. i mean how is anyone supposed to plan a wedding not knowing how long the process can take for the other person to get here?

I-864 - How to 'end' the support

How do you confirm whether someone has lost residency after they have left the country? My problem is, I filed the 864 for my ex-mother-in-law, whom has returned back to her home country. Now I will be filing for my fiancee'. How do I prove on the new I-864 that I am no longer liable for my ex MIL, since she's left the US for more than 2 years now?

I-864 - How to 'end' the support

for an I-134, the affadavit of support presented at interview day at an IV unit, it remains in effect 90 days past the Port of Entry Date.
for an I-864, the affadavit of support submitted with an adjustment of status case, it remains in effect for roughly 10 years, or if/when the beeficiary becomes a USCitizen, or if/when the beneficiary is out of the USA without re-entry permit for more than a year (generally)

what's what? I pray you can sense the answer varies, depending on where the casefile is, and what type of casefile it is.

I have 2 comments:
1. front load the petition. it's going to China, so front load it. Study the Red Flag stuff over at http://www.visajourn...hl__appointment
2. my take on the need for an attorney:

I'll suggest a coupla things, maybe (maybe...) help you to decide whether you need an attorney or not.

a. read the VJ guides. map the steps out on paper and pencil. See if anything doesn't make sense to you.
b. Read the USCIS web portal about the forms. Map out the steps on paper and pencil. See if anything doesn't make sense to you.
c. Practice filling out the forms, at least 5 times. See if anything still doesn't make sense to you.
d. Have any red flags? Practice writing up attestation letters about each red flag.

Now, after doing (with major emphasis on DOING ) all of the above, if you do NOT understand the forms and the process and potential red flags for your petition,

then I'd suggest getting a good IMMIGRATION lawyer. You are concerned with time, I am concerned with your 'knowledge acquisition', as knowledge is power. You can have 'it' good, fast or cheap - pick 2.
