I refuse to believe a church would agree to this... once pastor says ( you are now husband and wife ) you are screwed otherwise the pastor could be in trouble if he does this and not sign everything within days unless alot has changed since i was deacon

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStarting the K-1 process

1st a little background about Ade and myself. We met July 21, 2011 at Margarettaville in Montego Bay, Jamaica idea9dv.gif . One the happiest days of my life. Ade and I hit it off very fast even though I tried ignoring his presence and my attraction to him.

Long story short, when we met I was in the middle of a crazy adoption/custody battle for kids I had been raising for over 8 years. Ade could have easily said my life was too complicated and moved on to someone else. Instead he stuck around, called daily and encouraged me throughout the process. He understood what I was going through being a single father himself.

I gave my secretary the I-129F form to mail off for me, however; I'm thinking she dropped the ball because I got USPS confirmation saying it was delivered to Dallas on 5/15/13 unless the post office mis-handled my package.

Anyway, I am waiting on our 1st NOA. fingers crossed and praying for a speedy process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI got scammed the biggest scam of my life

I met her two years ago online and decided to travel to her and meet her. After meeting her and her family, I decided to take it slowly and keep talking online. We kept talking online with skype everyday for over a year. Eight months ago I decided to start the finace papers. She was approved and got the visa few days ago. Suddenly she started demanding that i go to her country and make her a wedding even tough our agreement was that she will come here alone once she gets the visa. She is easily agitated and suddenly stopped communicating. She has a sister that lives here and I think her plan is to use the visa to come and stay with her.

What can I do now? Can I call the embassy and ask them to revoke the visa even though it's already issued and she got her passport back from the embassy?

Thanks!!

In my opinion, if she wanted to scam you she would enter the states on the K-1 visa provided by you and then dissappear to her sister without you knowing she was in the states or even marry you and wait for her status to change to leave you. Maybe she just wants a ceremony not an actual marriage in her home country to share her moment with family and friends or maybe she is getting nervous this is a big step for her.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBiggest Age Difference

Aside from the Filipino bashing in this thread... I'd be interested in whether or not there are such significant age differences in couples from Western Europe and Australia/NZ as there appears to be from South East Asia and Eastern Europe? Personally ours is a met at college relationship so we're only 11 months apart.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI134 Co-Sponsor

You and your co-sponsor fill out an I-134 and provide most recent tax transcript(free from the IRS), letter from employer and most recent pay stub(s). The co-sponsor should also provide proof of being a USC or LPR.

Since your co-sponsor is single with no dependents, their household size is only 2, herself plus the foreign fiance(e). She makes more than enough at $32k a year for 2 people. You are the USC and do not require a sponsor. She is not agreeing to sponsor you, just your fiance.

Your household size is 3: you, your child and your fiance.

This is incorrect information. A co-sponsor does not include the USC petitioner in their household count unless the USC is a dependent of theirs and claimed on their taxes, which is almost never the case.

Are you sure the Co-Sponsor includes the beneficiary on the I-134 as a dependent? They aren't counted as a dependent at time of filling out the I-134 and won't have appeared on any tax returns as a dependent before.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 USC Living Abroad

You put income as 0, because it is currently 0.  An offer letter counts for nothing, though you can use your income for AOS after marriage, as by then it will be current.

As the previous poster said, if you work in Australia, you must file US taxes- if you have been unemployed, then no IRS filings are needed, but you will need to attach a short explanation as to why you were not required to file..

I'v lodged to postpone my taxes untill I return to the US, so my 2012 tax return would state $0 if I was to get any transcipts.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 USC Living Abroad

Hey guys, so I've been living abroad with my fiance since graduating college and therefore have not lodged any income taxes for the last year and have no current US income, I do however have a co-sponsor who has filled out a I-134 and provided all supporting documentation. I also have a full-time job offer earning over the poverty line, with supporting letter waiting for me the day i return to the US. My question is, on the I-134 form do I state my future income once i return and start work, or do i state my income as $0 and just attach the job offer letter? Keeping in mind I don't have any tax transcipts/payslips for this job yet and all my present income is from Australia...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAdditional Documents needed
Hello, Lesley. It looks like we are on the boat. My husband is Salvadoran and he went to his interview on May 21. CO said everything looked good but he needed one more document, which is the complete tax form 1040 of 2012 from my Co sponsor. He received it and sent the document along with his passport on May 27 and arrived at embassy the next day. The CEAC site says we are in ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING. Interesting to know that his passport status says no update because mine is also showing this. But, what are they waiting for? I know a lady whose daughter went to the interview two days ago and told her she will get her visa in 4 days. And she's from El Salvador.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI134 help!!!

You need to find someone else that meets the requirement. It is a household of 3, herself, her husband and you, the beneficiary. That is $24,412. IF your consulate will take 100% of the poverty level instead, then she would be ok as she would only need $19,530. Your fiance and his adult sister are not counted in the household size for his mother, the co-sponsor unless she claims them on her taxes. You may want to ask in your regional forum about whether or not your consulate accepts 100% for the affidavit or wants to see 125%. A lot of consulates want 125%, even when using the I-134.

Your fiance has been working full time for a year now. Does he not earn enough for a household of 2, you and him? If he makes enough, he does not need a co-sponsor. What he currently makes is most important, not what he made last year Most consulates understand about being a student and having a lower income while going to school. Have his employment letter state his job position, how long he has worked there and how much he earns, He can also provide most recent pay stub(s) to prove his current income. For instance, if he makes $10 an hour at 40 hours a week, that is $400 a week. Multiplied by 52 weeks, the gross current income is $20,800.

So my fiance makes $10 an hour and working at 40 hours a week. His company said he has to wait until he worked there for 1 year to become a permanent worker. But he took 2 weeks holiday to visit me last year so he has to wait for 2 more weeks. And he makes $10/hour and 40hours working a week. So he just needs to get a letter from his employment letter state his job position and how long he has worked there and how much he earns? So I just need to ask him to get 3 recent pay stubs and I don't need to show his tax income last year. Is it right? Can I also ask for all of the document like his passport, citizenship, do we need to copy it and then notarize it. Or he just needs to get a copy. Thanks for taking your time ;)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI134 help!!!

Yes, he needs to list his current income, not what is on his 2012 tax return. A letter from employer and recent pay stubs prove that income amount.

Is it best to find a co-sponsor that meets the income requirement for their own household size plus the foreign fiance(e). Her income is $21k. So if I count for the household size: my fiance, his parents, his sister and me => 5 people =>  $27,570. Is it right? So if his mom does not have that amount can she use her asset instead?

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI134 help!!!

My fiance is a student and he's only starting to work during June last year. So he is working in the morning and go to college in the evening. He's working 40 hours per week but he has to wait until 1 year to get his permanent letter. His tax return last year was 8500 for income before tax. So his mom is willing to help us to be a cosponsor. He's living with his parents and his sister. His sister is older than 18 at the moment. His mum is working in a nail salon and her previous tax income is $21,000. They own a house in Texas which has a market value at 120k. How do you count for the HHS poverty? Can anyone please help me? What do we need for the support documents? Two to three of his most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of his position?

Thanks for taking your time

There could be many other reasons. This is the reason for the RFE process. If the  O P had something terrible in his past I am sure he would not be questioning his denial here.

It doesn't have to be something "terrible" it can just be an inconsistency in his paper work or something he failed to disclose

I'm no immigration expert but if you were denied before you got NOA2 that means there was a problem with the background checks...that's really all the service ceters do... check for proper documentation  and perform background checks

Hi all!

My fiance and I are getting ready for my interview in Vancouver next month. He has filled out the I-134 form but we are wondering if it is necessary for him to also fill out the I-864 form as well.

He made just over $55,000 last year.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRenewed Dubai Police Clearance not yet ready for release but K-1 Visa Interview is set on Feb. 6

its valid for 3 months only and it cost AED 210.00, better apply for it a month before your actual interview day.

If the certificate expired February 3rd, 2013 and it is for three months then it was issued around November 2012 correct?

If that's the case then the state department recognizes it as valid for one year from the issuance date irrespective of what the expiration date says. But maybe it's different for different consulates.
