So does Filing from abroad during process-Auto expedite still work for a K1? Do they still recognize that?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan we send in the paperwork for packet 3 yet to the london embassy?

My I-129f was approved last week and I have not recieved packet 3 yet.Can I book my medical now?If so,how do I actually do it?Do I call them up or do they automatically give you a date for your medical after I send the 4 forms?

Your petition needs to go through the NVC first, they will assign you an LND number. Call them and get this number. You need this when you call to book your medical.

I believe as long as London has received/logged your petition, you can send the forms now.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs length of relationship a factor?

Thanks Laura, we have.  Side question for you- why is your filing center Vermont and not Texas? Not being nosey, just wanna make sure im doing this correctly!

K-1s are not usually processed at Texas. They all get sent to the Dallas Lockbox, who then forward the petition to either California or Vermont service centers.

When you get your NOA1 after filing, your receipt number will begin with either WAC or EAC.

WAC = California

EAC = Vermont

It all depends where the petitioner lives. As you are in Texas, yours will go to Vermont.

As long as you have made contact with the embassy (such as sending DS forms), you don't need to worry about the expiry date. It's only when people don't follow up with the embassy that it matters, and even then I think you just have to get updated letters of intent.

Thanks again all, Now I  have proof of other meets should I send them in also (airline itineraries, passport stamps, etc. Or just the first time we meet in a relationship?

Send anything that is dated within the past two years. The more proof the better.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion 18 I-29F K1 Visa

Thanks for your help everyone, now here's my question I new Jeanie for a year or two before as friends coming a item.  So would they need to know from 1st meet and from when became friends (which was over two years ago) or when we were in a relationship?

The other question is that we have scheduled the wedding (in pencil) for November 2013 is this timeline realistic or not?

I would probably just mention the relationship side of things.

And I'm afraid November 2013 won't happen unless you can expedite (military etc) . We just got our NOA2 after a 3 month wait (which is considered quick), and are now expecting a month or two wait before the interview. I would rethink your plans for 2014, and remember not to book anything until you have the visa in hand. ;)

Sounds absolutely fine. It's way more than we wrote and we had no problems. I think you can refer to them whichever way you feel most comfortable with. I would probably lean more towards father, mutual friends, etc.

You would have been better asking this in the UK subforum.
London does accept co-sponsors, and I don't think they want a i-134 from your fiancé. Just the stepfather. But I would double check this, I'm not 100% as we aren't using one.

From what I've read, London is pretty laid back when it comes to the I-134.

I plan to just use an employment letter and a ton of payslips.

Yes, even if you had no income. Just fill in zeros (appropriately).

Incorrect. A single person who earned less than $9750 does NOT need to file.

To OP, yes just provide a statement explaining why you weren't required to file.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresk1 and 214b

thanks,

i was denied on the ground of not having strong ties to the Uk. I just dont want to pay for a flight and then get denied at the US airport. And if this does happen i think it will look bad on my K1 petition.

Advice? Don't go?

If I were you, I'd:

Apply for the ESTA, see what happens. If it's allowed, then attempt to travel, but take with you as much proof of ties to the UK as you can.

If you are refused entry, I don't think it will affect your K1. But I'm not certain on that.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230 and the DS-2001

Hey guys. I'm Jason.

My question is probably a common one, but I just can't seem to find a very clear answer.

We are at the stage of waiting for my interview appointment. I sent my DS-230 pt 1 and 2 in two weeks ago now. But that's all I sent in....was I meant to send in evidence to support this form? Or do I wait to take said evidence to my interview when appointed?

Also....once I receive my police report in the post (I have everything else ready to go, i'm very eager to just get back to my fiancé as we've been waiting for what seems forever to just be together). do I then send in the DS-2001? I have read today that this form is obsolete now?

Am I just to believe that all I have to do it wait for my letter instructing me of my medical booking location and my interview date?

Any help to clear this up would be greatly appreciated! I just want some relief from this stress...thinking that I've missed sending something in or that I could be doing something else they require of me.

Thank you.

Did you just send DS 230? You also need to send DS 156, DS 156K and DS 157.

You also need to book your own Medical exam at Knightsbridge (results take 4 days to reach the embassy if there are no problems).

Read this: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

And this: http://london.usemba...xamination.html

Once the embassy has received all these things along with your DS 2001 and Cover letter stating your readiness to interview, will they schedule you an interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS Forms advice, please help!

I am at currently at the stage in my K-1 visa process where we have had our petition approved, it has been sent to the NVC and then sent on to the London embassy. I have now received a letter from the US embassy stating all of this and giving me further instructions on what to do next. However, there seems to be a lot of different instructions coming from a lot of different places within the embassy website and on the paperwork itself. Can anyone who has done this part of the application please answer a few questions I have?

Do I send the DS-230 part 1, DS-156, DS-156K and DS-157 to the visa immigrant unit or is it now done through their new immigration visa website that they started last week?

On the DS-156K it asks me to send my birth certificate, evidence of engagement, evidence of financial support and police certificate attached. Do I do this? and if so should it be the originals? Other sources including the FAQ on visajourney.com states that I should NOT send anything prior to the interview. Also the original letter i got from the embassy states that I should not send anything unless requested to do so. is the ds-156k requesting me to do so or does this not count? if I do have to send it with the 156k, will I get my original copies back in time for the interview?

Also, do I sign any of the form when I send them to the embassy or do I leave them all blank until I get there and sign it then?

I would really really appreciate any info anyone has, as I am at a complete loss and don't want to make any move incase its the wrong one. Thank you for your time.

Robert

1. Yes send DS-230 part 1, DS-156, DS-156K and DS-157 to the Immigrant Visa Unit. Make sure to send 2 copies of DS-156 and DS-157.

2. You don't send the items it asks for (birth certificate etc), you take those with you to your interview.

3. Sign the DS-230 part 1 and DS 156, nothing else. The DS 156K you will sign at your interview.

You only need to prove meeting in person once within the last two years. So the new passport should be fine.

If it's any consolation, we didn't send a single boarding pass or passport stamp and were approved without RFE.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 for self employed musician (split)

"

5.

You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and useful information on the Affidavit of Support Form."

Hmm... so for people like me and Megbo and I, what 2 would we use?  Does anyone know if the embassy is very strict on the 2 of the 4?  Because from reading some of the interview experiences, they didn't seem too strict at all...

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2): 1.A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).2.Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.3.Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).4.I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.5.You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).Examples: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate emails and letters you have sent including the stamps on envelopes (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures134 Help! Quiting job in same company, employer letter.

Ihave been working in this company since 2001 but i quit two times in last 2 years when visiting my fiance / i stayed for six months both times out of US), those two times are listed as unemployed in G-325, but i still made enought income. In employer letter for 134 should i state emplyed since 2001 or since 2012, is it a problem to put that recent date in 2012? And he is paid hourly, plus bonuses for over time and always working saturdays, should i just calculate my annual income like this hourly x 40 hours x 52 weeks plus bonuses. Thanks for help.

I am just confused about income in I134 - annual income amount, amount on the employer letter (which is significantly lower since he didn't work all year in 2012, and some say those numbers should match) and tax return amount. I will put in 134 tax return number for 2012, and employer letter with hourly pay rate. With paystubs and bank statement i thinks it will be sufficient, and thanks for the info :))

I am confused about the same thing, my fiance i paid per hour, and made enought all of the years, but wasn't working full last year so he made around 25 000 instead of around 35 000. should i put income as calculated hour rate x 40 hours x 52 weeks, or just what he earned last year??  And how to put up a employer letter, how should i state annual income???
