K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWorried!! K-1 Problem with divorce decree.
Hey everyone. My fiancee's interview was today in Bucharest, Romania. She had all the requested documentation except that I mistakenly sent her a photocopy of the divorce decree instead of a certified copy. She got a 221(g) saying that the petitioner(me) must send a certified court copy. So I went to the courthouse got the cert. copy and sent it DHL to her. Should I be worried? Will everything be ok once she goes back with the certified copy?? They kept my I-134, letter of employment, tax returns, bank statements, the ds-156, and the ds-230.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A FORM
We are going thru this, to get my husband here from Canada. In several of the things I read, it suggested not to leave a question blank, put 'None' or 'N/A' - whichever best suits the question.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFiled I-130 in mid-Nov--no word

Our I-130 was received on Nov.13th, 2009. Anyone else out there around the same time? Any other Nov. filers from Canada get any word on NOA2 yet?? I am going nuts.

Our I-130 was received that day also. Still no word, other than it was received. It appears they are still working on October's filer's, then they will get to us.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHi all, I need some advices filling out form I-130

I am trying to refiling I-130 and need some help on some questions. The first time I file for I-130 in 2007, I hired a lawyer and it was a waste of money. The lawyer just fill out the form and charge me big money. He didn't help us much with the interview. This time I am trying to do it myself and I am not sure what to put on these questions.

Section B:
#16. Have your relative ever been under immigration procedding?
Is this asking about me? not sure

Section C: Information about your alien relative?
#17. List husband/wife and all children of your relative.
should I put my name here or just put none??

Section D.
#2 Have you ever before filed for this or any other alien?
If yes give name, place and date of filing and result.
I think this is what i should put. Yes, my wife name, Vermont Service Center, November 2007, Approved.

On form G-325A. I have problem filling in some parts because it dont give me enough space to fill it out. For example on the part it ask for name of current husband/wife. When I try to fill out the city and country of birth, I can only fill in the city name but can't fit the word fit the country name on it. Is there anything I can do to fit all those word.

thanks all for the help.

You are petitioning for your wife, correct?

My husband was adopted in England, when he was a baby. Does anyone know what organization he would need to contact to get a notarized statement saying why his original birth cert is not available? He has the adoption paper, and the original birth cert, but it is 'short form' - no parents names?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresextension of interview for CR-1

We are having a similar problem. Here is what we are going to do. First, we will wait after the NOA2 to send out all the documents. After that we will try to get a late interview and then wait for almost 6 months to fly to the States. After that, we will go back to Germany for a while (not more than a year) until we finally move to the States for good.
Of course, we are not as far as you are with your visa...

I think you can't live outside the states for more than 6 months, but not sure about that. A friend of mine moved back to Mexico (she had her 10 year green card), for a little over a year, and the POE officer gave her a hard time about why she was gone so long and told her she was supposed to be in the States for more than 6 months out of the year. But, I don't know what the time requirements are for certain.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow to check status of I-130 online..

Hi guys,

When I look at some users' timelines it says "touched". How do you check if your I-130 has been touched online? Is there an official site?

Also, posted a question about how long it takes to process a RFE and got no response...does anyone know?

You can check status on the USCIS website - not always updated in a timely manner, though. Not sure about RFE's, guess it would depend on what the RFE is for, and what country it is, stuff like that.

I agree with Lona. That is everywhere, you just have try to avoid it. We are all facing the same things, some have it harder than others. There are a lot of good folk here on this site, and there is a of moral support.

I don't think you would have to be alone during the interview, your husband can be in the room with you. Not sure, though, check the UK thread here. Have you started the process yet? I am more organized about filling out paperwork, so I have been filling out the stuff for my husband, scanning and emailing it to him. Is it possible for your husband to fill the paperwork out, then you just have to read it (hubby caught a couple of small errors) and sign it, and send it in.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAdmitting Past Drug Use

It's not funny at all. It's a serious thing that you can't trust the US Government or any Government for that fact. Hell, you can't even trust a cop, an attorney, a D.A. or the old lady next door.
That wasn't always the case, but times have changed.

I used to say "Hi" when I met children standing around, just like my parents taught me. The last time I did that when walking up the stairs of an apartment building, about 10 years ago, the one girl said to his brother: "we're not allowed to talk to strangers."

In the 1950s people left their houses and cars unlocked. Why wouldn't they? There were no pull-out radios, no car alarms, no security codes, no passwords. There was no cyber-crime, identity theft, and a child abduction or murder was highly unusual.

If I find money in the street, I turn it in as it doesn't belong to me. I would think that everybody has the same standards, but they don't. Today it's all about self-interests, and that applies especially to the Government and Government officials. It's all about the bottom line.

The war on drugs is a huge business. Jails are a huge business. Health care is a huge business. And especially war fare is a huge business, netting trillions to US companies like Haliburton. And since huge businesses often make huge contributions to elected officials, that's how politics is made in this country.

Welcome to America!

Not only here, it is in many many places.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow to assemble I-130 application packet?

USCIS Tips on Filing Various Petitions

http://www.uscis.gov...000b92ca60aRCRD

What did we do? Paperclips. They were easy, light, and available all over the house. We had three sections: Cover letter and petition. My G-325A and documents. His G-325A and documents. For the pictures, they went into a Ziploc bag. The bag was then stapled to a sheet of paper reading "Passport Photo of LAST NAME, First Name (Petitioner/Beneficiary)" and filed in the appropriate group.

We used paper clips too. I stapled the ziploc bags to a piece of paper, too. Got the advice here, I think, in the guides.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHelp Regarding DS-3032

Interesting that your wife has already paid the I-864 fee but you haven't done the Ds-3032 since that is generally the first step. Anyway, YOU will complete the DS-3032, put your name at the top and fill out the information accordingly - listing your wife as the agent if you want. Most people nominate their spouse as the agent.

Good luck.

I received the info to pay the I-864 fee the same day my husband received the email with the DS-3032. I have to wait to send in the AOS packet until they have accepted our optin, but the emails were generated the day we gave NVC our email addresses.

Thanks for the input Sara, you have confirmed I was right (hand hubby was not!). I agree with you, Carla, about adding other names. Stubborn man wouldn't listen to me about that. He has already requested the police certificates with the birth name on it (In addition his legal name), so I will just add an amendment stating why it is on there. *sigh* He has a birth certificate, but it is a 'short form'. I think we can use that, since we do have the adoption decree and the baptismal records.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAdopted

Is your husband the one from Canada? I was adopted in Canada, at 2 years old. I applied for my long BC in Sask. While the birth registration is dated in the year of my adoption, and has my adopted parents names on it, I got an accompanied letter from Vital Statistics, indicating that I was adopted, hence the birth parents names have been changed to reflect the adoption. I never used my birth name on anything, nor should you be doing so. It's not a name he uses is it? Use the adoption papers to get his BC if that's what you need, I didn't, but at no time, in paperwork for immigration should you be using his birth name.

Yes, he is from Canada, but was adopted in England. We have the adoption certificate and baptismal records. He doesn't use the name. But when he went to get his police certificate, they asked him about any other name, and he mentioned his birth name. They put both on the police certificate. That is the only reason I was going to put the birth name.

So, in your opinion, should we put in an explaination on a separate sheet of paper as to why we included the name, or just leave it off completely?

My husband was adopted when he was 5 months old. We have the adoption papers, and will be sending them in to compensate for his birth certificate not having his parents name on it. Do we need to put the name listed on adoption record on DS-230 under "other names used/aliases"?
