K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Where will she get her interview?	Hi all, Its been very interesting reading everyone's journey so far. I am about to begin this process with my soon-to-be fiancee. Here is the basic info: 1. Im a US citizen 2. She is a Canadian but living in Hong Kong We are hoping to submit our K1 packet when she comes to visit in July of this year (2006) and then hoping the process will go through and she can move here in June (2007). I have a couple of questions I maybe being dense about. 1. Where in all the paperwork does it say what consulate or embassy she will do the interview in once we get to that stage? 2. Do you all think it is beneficial to put in the letters of intent that we hope to be living together by June of 2007? So are next steps are for her to get her birth certificate and in parrallel get her "dads" deather certificate as he is just someone that her mother listed on it. aiya!! I wish she was in Canada, unfortunately she is in Hong Kong so she will have to deal with her embassy there also All in all the only thing i am worried about is the ongoing relationship and proof we met but thatnks to everyone i think that all maybe covered, so this coming july i guess it will be picture. I also dont have a lot of emails im more of a chatter and not an emailer..... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Doesnt know her dad's birthday	I do have my passport stamps of when I was in Hong Kong, but other than that I don't really have anything else. other than her email saying we met up. She doesnt know her dad's birthday as her mother seperated from him a long time ago and the dad is deceased with no familyand mom doesnt remember his birthday, what do you think we should put? "Unknown" maybe? 2. I dont have any photos from when I went to Hong Kong as I wasn't going to meet her specifically but I do have an email where she describes us meeting, do you all think that might work? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Can extensions be asked for?	Ok, here is a good question that has come up. Here is some information. We have yet to file our I-129F. She lives in Hong Kong teaching, but is a Canadian. I'm an American. Lets say we file at the end of July during her trip here to visit me again, we need the trip also for additional information for the I-129F. Let us suppose that my app flies through in about 6-7 months that would put us in february of 2007, her teaching school year is NOT over until June 2007, I think the K-1 visa is valid only for 4 months, what do I at that point if the app goes too quickly and the K-1 will expire before she can leave Hong Kong? are extensions ever granted? can they even be asked for? My Fiancee ( I asked her on Sunday 7-9-2006 and she said yes!!) is currently here in Houston with me, she flew down from Toronto and does not have a I-94 number, she is Canadian. How should I answer the question? She is going home back to Canada on the 31st of July and then back to Hong Kong for her job. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	K1 questions	Hi All, I am new to this process and I am about to get ready to start the process of K1/K2 Visa and was reading through a few dicussion and had a few questions. My Fiance is from El Salvador What is IMBRA form and why do some people get this as RFE? Also when sending off my app, Do i need to submit My fiance/Her sons Birth certificate? Does my Fiance have to have Form G-325A signed? Apologies but I am new and would like to have some insight to this process. Thanks, Joseph You dont need the fiancee or their children's birth certificate if you are filling out the K-1 at this point, they will be needed at the interview, but remember to put all the information in regards to children in the appropriate places on the forms. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	PLEASE help! its Urgent!	Not our problem as the Filers, if they wanted it dated they should have specified that in the instructions given. I will argue it with them if it happens that there are not any instructions to date the photos and that they need to read their own form. I think what has happened is that people have done anything they have been asked for without questioning them back and that is not what our country is founded on. We as Americans and Citizens are allowed to question and correct our government, but a lot of people have forgotten that. So to be blunt yah I'm going to tell them read your form, it was followed correctly if I get an RFE for this. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	PLEASE help! its Urgent!	So feeling the knife turning in my stomach as I know I followed the directions perfectly. I went to go read these are the exact instruction: Give USCIS a passport-style color photograph ofyourself and a passport-style color photograph of yourfiancé(e), with both photos taken within 30 days of thedate of filing this petition. The photos must have awhite background, be glossy, un-retouched and notmounted. The dimension of the full frontal facialimage of you and your fiancé(e) in separate photosshould be about one inch from your chin to the top ofyour hair in 3/4 frontal view. Using a pencil or feltpen, lightly print the name (and Alien RegistrationNumber, if known) on the back of each photograph. So the instructions never specifically say to date them as they are technically attached to the G-325a and also are part of the I-129F package. So I think some of us are freaking out for no reason. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Here we go again!!!	<offers a hug> I know I just started the process But yes I did get it signature required, remember I said "Super Duper Expensive USPS". Just trying to make things fun. Humbly, Ramos Just so you know, your NOA1 date is not based on the day they enter it into the system. It is based on the day it is received and stamped as received. My receipt date was Mar 15, entered into system on the 22nd of March. Also, if you were that concerned why didnt you send it signature required? WTH, I mailed my petition on Monday via super duper expensive USPS service on this past monday (07-31-2006). They didnt even bother to pick it up from the PO Box until Wednesday (08-02-2006) at about 5 am. So that means they had it in their little hands in the morning and they didnt process me into the system that day. Here it is now Thursday and Im still waiting to get put into the system. Come on this is crazy, I bet if it was the IRS and we owed them money, it would have gotten processed by now Hehe, just kidding everyone some of you have waited a LONG time for a response. Your not commited by any means yet, but y'all just blew 170 USD if you dont finish the process and you have to start over with a new process if you deviate from your current plan. That sucks that y'all have been given an ultimatum. This is prolly something you can ask them at the interview with the consulate, but even then you do have like 6 months to enter the US once you get the visa , maybe things will change by then. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	seriously everyone think about this.........	Well said sir. Ramos Communication has two parts a sender and a receiver. If there is anything I have learned being involved with someone from a differnt part of the world and differnt culture is that I have a choice, I can base my observations on my cultural reference or I can question everything. When I am in receiver mode for communication I try (very hard) to give people the benefit of the doubt. When I read something on this board and I dont find it funny I dont immediately blast some for not being funny or ASSUME they are being mean I just figure I don't get their humor. Since ths board can have a ton of people from all over the world it is up to each of us to make a choice. Do we post the negative or do we post the positive. If there is a bad post out there, guess what if you didnt post to it it would cycle down the bottom of the board. If you truly think it is offensive email the moderator to remove it. But as with most forums that allow free exchange of ideas we must all make a choice if the freedom is worth the cost. Personally if someone posts something I dont find funny or I find offensive I dont bother because either the person is doing to get attention or they truly do not understand how what they have posted is offensive. So here I am sitting in the middle of the gulf of Mexico just checking my mail and look what I find *** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL *** The following is the latest information on your case status Receipt Number: WACXXXXXXXXXXXX Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) Current Status: This case has been approved. On November 7, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours. I have yet to call Nancy and tell her I would like to thank those of you that answered my questions and to all of you for sharing what has happened so far with your individual cases. This is a site I have highly recommended to many people I know. So the next step I believe is for the Application to go to the NVC (National Visa Center) and then the HK (Hong Kong) Consulate, if I am wrong someone please correct me.
