That's not true ! Once you file any application with USCIS, it is entered into their computer system, so that they can sort it out. It is not paper based system. You get the receipt notice of any application from their computer system. Sometimes, date goes back due to the reason (one guy got RFE and he/she sent the docs back to the USCIS and when they posted the date on the web site periodically, it was that bad guy's priority date), not because of one file sitting inside a drawer.

Why some people is getting approvals faster than others could be for many reasons:
1) Which officer handles the case
2) If the application is clean (with all required docs and completely filled forms)
3) If it is expedited case
4) And so many other unknown factors...

But personally, I don't like USCIS the way they work. Recently, they have made tremendous improvements such as speeding up FBI name check, adding additional staff (of course, with our money) etc. I know couple of my friends who are stuck in FBI name check for more than 2 year !!! FBI has to clear 300,000+ cases from the name check.





Thats not true completely ...loto ...Most of us when we send an application , we go through application 100 times making sure everything is correct including check ...and other docs...b/c we want our spouses in our hands ASAP..(means application is clean on our side lol)

But they may get dirty and kept behind the log if an officer hands are dirty ..lol rofl.gif ....Then another officer wakes up with clean hands will take some time to clean the dirt on file to approve it faster lol .....See Dirt to clean is taking longer time ...

Some lucky ppl like you loto ...will get into clean hands in the begining get approved faster ...lol tongue.gif

One other thing while im thinking about it, I think I may have a way to know if your application is being looked at by anyone. The color of your application numbers. If you use the same pc day in and day out to check your application your application number is always purple I never delte cookies or anything also . When something has been looked at or accessed the numbers turn blue. I check my application on my work pc and on my house pc, the numbers are always purple. I just called uscis to see if maybe they have any new info other than blah blah blah Jan 24th we blah blah blah , right after the call, my application number was blue. Any thoughts? I called the NVC hotline last week and was able to get my IIN number. I paid online on Saturday (they double charged me so there are still some flaws). I have heard of other people not being given their IIN. It is pretty common. I do not know if anyone has been successful recently. I have heard it is on the front page of the AOS fee bill letter, but I have not received the hard copy yet. Hope that helps.

but iw as able to get my IIN number on monday night (9 pm central) and paid my AOS online!! and as of NOW the 70$ came out of my account, so i did not get double charges!! wohoo
and i am able to print out my cover sheet!!

same here i paid aos fee online may 5 and right now may7 it is showing paid, and 70$ came out of my account, i was able to print the aos cover sheet online now,

can i mail in AOS packet along with cover sheet now... i think you can.. but someone plz confirm it.. and i mail it to what address? the NH addres we got on our NOA2? or st.louis?

just put in any yellow big envelope right.. anything elsE?

I generated the barcoded cover letter and the rest of the documents for the I-864 (AOS) and sent it to the address on the cover letter (Portsmouth, NH) yesterday. Basically I believe I am done with my part of the AOS, at least I hope so. All this and I have stillnot received the NVC bill via snail mail, and they initially said it was mailed April 28th.

This might be similar to those that email their DS-3032 early and it slows down their processing. Also, if we send it in early, they may send it back. Maybe I will call tonight. if so, then u can send in ur AOS today!!! check and see if u can print it out, by clickin on recepits, then print cover sheet

I was able to print my cover sheet online. I called NVC's hotline just checking if I could get through to an operator and got in on the first time (super rare but I am not complaining). I spoke to the operator, and she said that if I can print out my I-864 coversheet, then I can send in my documents even if the I-864 has not been generated. With this extra proof, I sent off my I-864 today. Hope to hear back on my DS3032 so I can pay my bill and get on to the harder DS-230. What is the normal processing time for an I-864? I am hoping to know within a couple of weeks because that is then just one less thing to worry about.

wow u sent it off! i am going to mail mine on sat or monday morning.. i need time to put it together .. i thnk i should get an email response for my ds3032 within 2 more days...

for i864 usually they take a week now to review it and enter it in the system so by the following monday urs should be completed,

meanwhile i think our iv bill should be generated and ds3032 accepted by that time

then we can concentrate on ds230..

Those original documents are very important/hard to obtain and I am not sure if I have to send those originals in (marriage certificate, birth certificates), .

most ppl send the originals, and ur supose to get it back at interview.. but u can also send certifie copies of it.. i dont know how u would do that in ones country..

if they are in native language they need to be translated..and accompanies by the originals i believe

i just went to the bank today since i will be mailin my AOS i864 on monday

i had them transfer half my money to savings since i had nothing in there and kept the other half in checking...

i got a statement from them listin all transactions ..deposits from work and personal withdrawals, and bill payments

is this ok?

or should i ask them for a formal letter from bank of america letterhead sayin as of today i have this much money??

if u the us citizen is choice of agent then the beneficiary shud mail the ds230 stuff to the us citizen and then the us citizen will mail to NVC

im in the same EXACT situation as u.. i dont think u have to worry.. we should give it 9 days to get an email back for confimation of ds3032.. i emailed mine i think on may 2.. so it should be arriving soon

i stil have not got the hardcopy of aos or ds3032 neither has my spouse

i paid aos online and was able to print barcode cover sheet and will be mailin aos packet tom morning..

so basialy im in the same situation

i gues we should hear somethin soon for our ds3032.. its takin ppl avg of 8-9 days to get a reposonse..


so lets see what happens today or tomorrow.. if nothin then i wil cal the nvc operator and ask whatts up..

worked great for me.. i paid my AOS bill online, and it cleared in 2 days.. and i am mailin in my AOS packet now, but until now i have not recevied the AOS packet from NVC!! so it tkaes a while ti receive documents from NVC but if u have ur cover sheet (by payin online) this can save u weeks!

im waitin for my immigrant bill to be invoiced now.. and so i can send in ds230!!

rajee my husband got a new passport too for our i130 process.. anywyas he got it b/c he needed to get his name split. in india they go by last name first and first name last. so now his new passport has his first name on one line and last name on another line..which was required by chennai embassy

so he got a new PCC for the new passport... i dont know if this answers ur question but he did not need any type of check...

I think we all have Immigration Stress Disorder, and I've mentioned it before .... I think a mass Tort Lawyer would make a fortune out of this situation we all have to go through.
Till then, VSC and USCIS can just deal with me taking the piss out of them, because really, I know I could do a much better job at running this system (as a lot of us on here could) ..... there's a challenge USCIS!!! Your touch on your file with a February NOA1 is very good news as it obviously means that someone has your file .... and if someone has your file, then Amastar's February NOA1 approval may not have been a fluke, and it is very possible that 'someone' may just have been allocated some February NOA1 files ..... come on VSC adjudicator, let's see some more February NOA1 approvals this week.

It's possible that someone is working on the January NOA1's as they have definately been started and maybe someone else has started the February one's ... super news!!

SGR, usually if ur case is touched on sunday, that means there was work doneon ur case on friday! and the touch shows up 2 days later..
