We have not received our NOA2 yet but, after reading on Visa Journey, I noticed that most people say the interviews take around 2 months to get. I was looking on the US Embassy Jakarta's website and it said appointment times were 3 days out. Am I missing something?  said for non-immigrant visas. There are still people from Dec and Jan that were transfered to TSC that are still waiting for their NOA2 approval. Yes, it is unfair. March and April should go to back of line and wait until their turn     I think everyone here has a right to complain. The system is seriously flawed and people are venting about that. May filers that are being approved are ahead of me too but I am still happy for them. I am an April filer who was trying to get an expedite due to serious illness of our child but I was denied. Another girl on here was given an expedite because she was going to lose money on a cruise they booked. Fair? No, it's not. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Approved VSC to TSC, April filer	I received a notification today around 3pm Central time that our application was approved. Our NOA1 was April 10. We are so excited! I had not heard anything on Friday, so I submitted a request to look at my file because I heard that a lot of Texas transfers were approved but it was not being shown on the USCIS website. The tier 1 rep would not let me speak to a tier 2 rep but said she could submit the request. She told me that I would receive a reply in 3-5 business days about whether the case had been approved or was truly still pending. Today, I got the notice that it had been approved!   God is so good! You should try to look at the embassy website for more information. Also, it will tell you in packet 3 where to take care of everything. Our NOA2 was approved July 31, 2013 and got it in the mail, however I have had no updates that it has been forwarded to NVC and call every  few days which they state they haven't received.  I have looked at other timelines that show a much quicker response, what is going on?     We received our NOA2 on the 28th of July and just got our message 10 minutes ago that it was forwarded to NVC. Give it a few more days and try calling. I called because I had not received a hard copy of the approval. I still haven't but they told me I should get it by 23 August. Some of us who filed way before you are stuck at VSC before they started transferring petitions to TSC. So good for you that you managed to get in front of those of us waiting longer.   Awww. Come on. It isn't their fault they were approved before others waiting longer. Besides, I was transferred to TSC and I filed before you so it isn't true that you got stuck at VSC before they started transferring. They have transferred many who were February, March and April filers. They have transferred some May filers too. Unfortunately, yours didn't get moved but maybe it will soon. I wish you the best.   Congratulations OP. I think it's wonderful that you got approved so fast. It's one less out of the pile. I believe 8 weeks is the standard response, as some others said. After ours left USCIS, the process sped up tremendously. We are probably interviewing in the next week or so. We have a daughter who has been quite ill and requires many therapies and some pretty extensive medical care. I received a notice for further information, so I submitted that yesterday. Does anyone know how long it will take for them to make a decision on the expedite? Having a sick child and working alone is proving to be too difficult for a single mom. She needs her dad and so do I! Please pray for our expedite to get approved. Normally, I would never try to "cut in line" but I really think this situation warrants it. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	K1 Fiance Visa	Actually if your case is straightforward you are better off doingit yourself.  Leaving your fate in the hands of others is risky.  There have been more people denied for the attorney not filling things out correctly, ommiting forms, or outright denied in Lagos for just filing like they do in regular countries.  I have been on VJ for years and have seen as many failures at the hands of attorney filed petitions as at the hands of regular people and there is no increase in speed no matter that they claim.  You are reviewed in the order recieved .     I agree. Attornies dont put as much thought into a case as you will. If your case is straight forward, do it your self. Look online to find out how the attornies put it together. It's not rocket science. Prepare it in an organized fashion and you should be fine. My application was accepted within a week and I did it myself. PM me if you need any guidance. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Expedite denied but still hope :)	I am not sure if any of you remember me because I don't post a lot here but a while back, I applied for an expedite based on my daughter's medical problems. She currently receives many different therapies and facets of medical care due to a brain bleed from birth. We were denied because USCIS felt that we did not meet the criteria to expedite. Since that happened, we have been living life as usual....until last Friday. I went to have my yearly "girly" check up and the doctor found a lump in my breast, which is very concerning. I need to have surgery in about a week to remove it. I became very upset, as you can imagine. I decided that I would fight to get my fiance here and fight for all of you also. I called my congressman, which didn't really get me anywhere. Washington DC is just too big for anyone to really care, I guess. I faxed a letter and a release of information to him that same evening. Monday morning, I still had not heard anything, so I sent an email. Wouldn't you know, I got a call from my congressman yesterday (Tuesday evening). He asked me to explain what has been going on and why I felt I deserved "special" attention. I explained to him about my daughter's medical condition and my new problem. I also explained that everyone in this group has been put through hell by USCIS. I asked him to read some of the posts here. The congressman contacted me again. I am going to meet him Saturday for coffee! He wants to hear all about the immigration issues and how I was treated by the representative I spoke to. I am so excited. I hope it helps us all. I feel that you are implying that everyone here does that except for you. FYI, there are many people here who don't go to hotels with their fiances. There are many here who actually wait until they are married. The rules are clear. You need to have met your fiance within the last two years or to be able to give a clear reason why you couldn't. You were able to visit three years ago, but suddenly, you are not able to visit for religious reasons? The USCIS could see right through that and that's why you were denied. Just go ahead and file for 2012. If you e-file it should be processed quickly, and then get a tax return transcript (free) from the IRS. I am sure there's an answer here somewhere but I'm not sure where. QUESTION: I was living overseas in 2012, so I do not have an income tax return for that year. Do I need a statement from the IRS or do I just write something stating I did not have a tax return during that year? I make good money at my current job and the job I had before I moved overseas. As long as you can prove your income at the time of the interview with the I-134 and supporting documents it will not matter what your job title is.  They only want to make sure that the US citizen can provide support. Will it look like I have a short job history though! It is in the USA. I'm just worried that I won't have a long job history to show. The last two years, I did not work because I lived overseas with my fiance. When I moved back, I got the job I have now. Will a job change in this hurt our chances of approval? Took them forever to respond as well.   Considering Ted Cruz wants to abolish the IRS...I dunno. Your other senator isn't exactly rushing to work on immigration either.   Perhaps you have a congressman who can help?   Our senator, Mark Pryor, was extremely helpful and our visa was approved 2 days after a call from his office. He wrote me a letter letting me know that our visa was approved. I got that letter the day after the approval.
