CaribbeanKingston field office closing!!!

I think it just means they are getting rid of DCF and the field office in Jamaica.

I think they'd be clear if the IV unit at Kingston was closing though. We don't have an IV unit in Denmark or Norway any more and the cases are processed in Sweden. *shrugs* It wouldn't be the end of the world.

Maybe not if you live as close as you do but for someone in Jamaica, it is a very big deal to have to travel to the Dominican Republic.....

CaribbeanKingston field office closing!!!

Here is the US Embassy in Jamaica website http://kingston.usem....gov/index.html there is nothing on here about any closing. Please post what you read and where did you ge this information.

Read it on the USCIS website so I have to assume that it's true.....

On March 1, 2013, USCIS will permanently close its field office in Kingston, Jamaica and the USCIS Field Office in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic will assume Kingston?s former jurisdiction.

The Kingston Field Office had jurisdiction over Jamaica, Anguilla, Aruba, The Bahamas, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Montserrat, Turks and Caicos Islands, and Guantanamo Bay Naval Station.

After March 1, 2013, applications or petitions previously accepted at the Kingston Field Office should be filed as directed below.

CaribbeanKingston field office closing!!!
I just read that USCIS is closing the Kingston Embassy on March 1 and its stating that the embassy in Santo Domingo will assume all duties. Does this mean we will have to fly to the Dominican Republic for his interview??? I'd appreciate any kind of insight into this because I'm just in disbelief...Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse.....Any Jamaica VJ members that gets an interview scheduled after March 1 - please share!

CaribbeanDHL fee, Online registration, Jamaica

There is something about having to go online and register for DHL for Kingston Embassy. When is that required to be done and what is the web address?
Does anyone have a step by step process what needs to be done after NOA2? Kingston embassy contacted fiance today to ask for his address and told him he will receive something in the mail that he has to fill out the first part of and mail back immediately. However i hear a lot of people are emailing forms back and forth. Neither he nor I have gotten any emails from Embassy yet.

Go here https://usvisa-info....country_welcome to register. My understanding is that you can schedule your own appointment on that site - new system implemented as of March 18. Good luck!

CaribbeanTears flowing from my heart

Not sure what to do... I mean I just don't get it. I'm a US citizen, I never been in trouble by the law, a hard working tax payer been working since be fore I was of age to work.. And also an educated young woman actually still in school. Wow.. When I finally fall in love, when I finally found the man of my dreams, a man that's been so damn good to me....

First, I'm a Oct. 10 filer and have a lawyer, which I realize was a waste of money. She told me this process would take 3 months... What a lie.
Second, my EAC number was put in correctly so I can't view anything
Online . So therefore I have to call each time and be on 35 min holds. Oh, and I found this out on my own bc my lawyer was busy doing nothing.
Third, I put in a expedition last month still have not heard anything, not even an email saying they receive d my fax.
What else can I do? Tears flowing from my heart.

Please fill in your timeline - makes it a lot easier for yourself and everyone else

CaribbeanGetting to the interview in Kingston

We stayed at a lovely hotel in Kingston - The Four Seasons (no, not THAT Four Seasons, lol) and it was very close to the embassy. Had a nice dinner the night before, tried to sleep and arrived in plenty of time the next morning. Makes no sense driving from Negril in the middle of the night. Best of luck to you both!

CaribbeanU.S. Police Record?

Thanks but perhaps my question was unclear - I know exactly how to apply for Jamaican citizenship and what documents are required. I have been in touch with PICA - my question is how do I obtain a police record for myself from the United States? Via FBI? Thanks again

Hope there's someone here that can tell me how to obtain my police record from the U.S.? I'm going to need it to apply for Jamaican citizenship but I really can't find any information on how to get one. I have lived in Hawaii for the past 14 years. Thankful for any information.

Australia and New Zealandproblems with paying visa fee online

I've tried to pay my visa fee as I have my K1 visa interview in Sydney in 2 weeks, but couldn't do it online. I created a profile but when I got to 'schedule an interview', as instructed, there was only a non-immigrant visa option. Any advice would be most welcome.

A K-1 is a non-immigrant visa......

So I submitted my I-129F yesterday and I made my check out to "USCIS" and then I read somewhere that I should have made it out to "Dept. of Homeland Security"! Will this cause them to send it back to me?

We all got caught in the Dream Act - I had my Congresswoman's attorney inquire on my behalf on January 24 and he was told "Your constituent will receive a response within 45 days" - that puts me at March 11 - 6.5 months after NOA1!

You're being so negative. Lets get back to letting the good times roll like the wind blowing though your hair on a warm, sunny day driving down the highway in 1956 Ford Pickup with a rusty front hubcap. (Things look brighter now, don't they).....

USCIS Service CentersNot happy

I have to tell you, if the service center you are assigned to is a big problem for you, you are going to have a lot more problems. The VISA is just the beginning. The petition is not even the beginning of the beginning.

Chill out. You have a long way to go and if you think a few weeks difference in the I-129f will make any difference down the road...you are imagining things.

What WILL make a difference is if you pine away over useless stuff like the ever changing timeline and not prepare for your fiancee's new life here.

The petition is done...look ahead.

Truer words never spoken......Chill out, it's a long process regardless of what service center you're at....

USCIS Service CentersCSC

I think everyone who has been waiting 7 months or longer should contact their congressman or woman to investigate their individual cases so CSC can see that we mean business. How do you update the website in March 2013 with a January 2013 timeframe? It doesn't take them any time to cash each check, but 8 month plus to process the application. Maybe they shouldn't cash the checks until they process the application. I paid $340 to wait as my application sits around as they work on other case loads? That's nonsense. We deserve an explanation and if everyone seemed help I believe we would see movements in CSC...

My Congresswoman's office was really helpful, I received my NOA2 within 30 days of the inquiry made on my behalf.....

Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to get an interview date from the Kingston Embassy (Jamaica). The NVC advised the case is now completed but to wait for Embassy to set interview date.

I emailed the Kingston embassy and attached the DS 230 (for K-1) and received my interview date four days later, via email.

Australia and New ZealandTaking medical results to interview

just had the medical today, bit of a mission but reasonably straight forward. The sydney Doctor sends examination results directly  to US Consulate,  thats why you need to take the express post envelope. Then you have to keep the xrays and take them with you to interview and then have them with you when you enter the US

USCIS Service CentersLetter from USCIS and Congresswomen

The majority of security clearances are completed fairly quickly. There are however exceptions. If you would like to read further on alien security checks there is a link in my signature.

I am sorry that you were not able to get the answers you would of liked from the congressmans office, but their hands really are tied in as far as what they are allowed to do. They mostly get the same standard responses that we do when we enquire.

All the best
Lorelle

USCIS Service CentersUSCIS field offices and their inspectors ethnic backgrounds
I dont know about other states but I know that USCIS State of Hawaii branch is controlled mostly by filipino ethnic usa citizens or naturalized filipinos who are easy on filipinos but hard on other asians and other ethnics.

I saw this happening here because I faced and accused one of the inspector with her favors to filipinos and she just walked away. I also know these immigration inspector favors from filipino people themselfs because they all openly talk about it .They mentioned that hawaii is kind of easy way to get into usa and most filipinos using hawaii as their gateway to the usa because they already have information that they have fiipinos in the government of Hawaii and they are easy on filipino nationals here in hawaii and naturally over their USCIS processes and once they have GC or citizenship they move to mainland to California or other states or just reside in Hawaii. so you are filipino and new comer you better use hawaii and doesnt matter if you have fake documents they ll let you get away with it.

This is something not only about immigration purposes and benefits but also for the jobs, First of all State of Hawaii got no hawaiians and 80 or 90 % of them are filipino ethnic or filipinos from the philippines and the rest are japanese ,chinese and other asians. somehow they have strong filipino powerhold in the government and they control all of the moves in favor of filipinos. this is something I faced and heard from filipinos .so you can apply for any job and if you are a caucasian you will almost get NOTHING ,not even a call back !unless you have some connections. this is a known fact here in Hawaii . you can see that most employees in Hotels, ABC stores ,Walmarts,Sams clubs ,Department of Transportation and most transportation companies are filipinos, as a matter of fact one of the General manager of a top transportation company told me in person that filipinos actually bought the D.O.T and they control the honolulu airport and the transportation operations in hawaii, so almost all the people you see working here are noone but filipions, you can see many homelesss people here but there are no filipinos, but there are back in the philippines because the nation itself looks like homeless ,I have been to philippines and i have seen it all but they are not as pitty as most people thinks, its not that I have something against filipinos but they are really talented con artists. I have seen them in japan too and they are famous with their fake marriages and deportations.

This is also same for japanese and some of the top government inspectors who are in charge of different USCIS operations in the state are japanese and they are easy on their own. for example ,a lot of japanese tourist girls using the VWP and working as hostesses in hostess clubs or restaurants and its known but noone checking it, not even I.C.E who s head officer is a japanese. if they do they only go for korean hostess clubs and never bother with the others.

So if you are in some state and if you are thinking that you have been waiting for you case cause of what people calls `CASE BY CASE` you are DEAD wrong , you are waiting cause of your nationality and the sevice according to your nationality and its well or ill connections with the U.S Government .

This is what I know, seen and been living with.

now where were we ? AOS process ? please ......
