PhilippinesAmerican Consulate in Cebu calling regarding I-129F visa petitions?

I would definately contact either the embassy or cousulate to report this, include as much information as possible, i.e. if you have the number they called from, the email address if you ever get it, etc.  Usually the US govt takes these types of scams pretty serious.

PhilippinesRecord of Serious Illness

Hi Everyone, I was just looking at St. Lukes webpage about my fiancee's upcoming medical, and saw something about

Detailed medical certificate regarding a previously-treated or currently managed clinically significant illness which should contain the following information

  • duration and date of treatment
  • surgical procedure or medical intervention done
  • complete final diagnosis
  • outcome of treatment or treatment plans and prognosis, if available

Well it my fiancee had appendicitis a year ago, had it removed at a govt hospital and is not sure if she can get any records of the operation, or even if the doctor who performed it is still at the hospital where she got the operation done.  Has anyone heard of this requirement? I haven't read anything about it here on VisaJourney before.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

PhilippinesJust Got My MNL Case #

Latest update... April paid the visa fee yesterday, so today went online to schedule her interview.  Took a few tries, first couple of times, couldn't even get to the webpage.  Next couple of times, after entering all of her information I kept getting a error message that said the receipt number was not valid.  Tried to get in touch with April to double check that she sent me the correct number and/or paid the wrong amount.  Finally tried around 2pm Manila time, and it worked!!  I wanted Friday Aug 23, but it looks like they don't do interviews on Fridays, so scheduled for Monday at 7:30am on 26 Aug!!

Scheduled so late since we're still waiting for her Japanese police clearance.  I can only stay for a few days since I'm almost out of vacation time, and still want to accompany her back to Hawaii.  Also want to take a few days to show her how to get around before I have to go back to work, so she won't be stuck at home alone.

PhilippinesJust Got My MNL Case #

The Japanese Embassy said 1 to 2 months, NBI said 1 month for them.  And I really haven't waited that long, NOA1 was 1 May, I requested an expedite for military reasons on 13 Jun, NOA2 was approved on 14 Jun, and just called today to get my MNL case number today from NVC.  I'm trying to get April here as soon as reasonable to hopefully get acclimated and adjusted to life here in Hawaii before I have to leave for a few months.  I'd really like to get her AP completed so that she might be able to go home to family while I"m gone, at least for part of the time.

PhilippinesJust Got My MNL Case #

Just got off the phone with NVC, just got my MNL case #!!, called yesterday and was told that my file had arrived, but wasn't inputted yet.  Hope our file makes it to the embassy soon.  But we still have to wait for April's Japanese police clearance (maybe another 1 1/2 months?) and NBI clearance to arrive.

Guess we can start planning for the medical and interview now?  Would you wait for the Japanese clearance first? or should we schedule the interview, hoping the clearance arrives in time? What would happen if we didn't get it on time? Can we still do the interview, and submit the clearnace when it does arrive?

Mahalo!

PhilippinesStill no Visa, we are on the 3rd week

Good luck! Hope you get out in time, since Hawaiian stops flying to Manila on 1 Aug!  I'm kind of upset, built up alot of miles on Hawaiian, hoping to us them to fly my Sweetie over in Business class.  Heard the reason they stopped the service (from some employees that I know) is because the Phil Govt. wanted to rasie the fees they were charging the airline, so it no longer made the route profitable.

PhilippinesAppointment Letter from US Embassy Manila

Same for me, got the MNL Case # from NVC, April went to BPI to pay the visa fee, and scheduled the interview on line.  Saved the appointment letter as a PDF and emailed it to her.  From what I've read here, most people don't ever get a packet or letter from the embassy.  +1 for Hank's link.  Great info!

PhilippinesTravel Tips/checklist with 2 year old child

Ear plugs, lots of them for the passengers next to you! hahaha.  rofl.gif  But seriously, bring something for her to drink, or candy, if she's old enough chewing gum? for the climb and descent, that will help clearing the pressure build up in the inner ear.  Usually not that big a deal on the climb out, but more so for the descent, can be pretty unpleasant for little children, that's why you hear so many crying just prior to landing.

PhilippinesScheduling the interview.....Help Please !!!!

Have you looked at Hank_ 's link? it pretty much walks you thru the entire process.  It's been a great help to me.  But, basically, per Hank_ the priority date is the received date on your NOA1.  So according to your timeline, 27 Feb 2013

PhilippinesI129F Approved :)

I emailed NVC requesting a confirmation of the case number, I was just expecting them to email be back.  I didn't hear from them for a few days, then got a letter in the mail with the MNL number on it.

PhilippinesLimit of wiring a money outside the US ?

I just sent almost $15,000, did it in two transactions 5K and 10K, not for any restrictions, just worked out that way.  Used PNB since they have a couple of remitance centers here in Hawaii.  Just needed the account number and the swift code.  Had to fill out an additional form since the amount was large with the source of the money and what it's being used for.  Just general reasons in check boxes.  don't think it would be a problem if the large transfer is only once in awhile and that you can explain reasons for the transfer, and show how you obtained the funds.

Jean/Bill, IMHO, if I was looking for money laundering? The way you sent the money would be what I'd be looking for

PhilippinesGreat News for Us !!! Our file has finally been shipped to Manila :-)

I emailed them on July 9th, and just got a response yesterday (July 25). So not as fast as I was thinking.  I did get a letter notification about a week after.

PhilippinesVISA APPROVED!

VISA APPROVED today! :D
The pre screener is nice to me! although I heard that some Filipino pre screeners were rude compared to the American consul.
He just asked me my birth certificate, cenomar, and nbi clearance. Then he asked me how I met my fiancé, how many times he visited me and the last time we saw each other. He then asked me the affidavit of support and he encircled the income of my fiancé and then he asked for the 1040,and W2. He asked me what's my fiancé work, I told him he is in the military and he asked me for my fiance's Statement of service and Member Data Summary. He told me to prepare my proof of relationship wd my fiancé and wait my number to be called.
When my number flashed on the screen that was the time I felt nervous. My hands and feet were sweating! LOL!
But I still managed to greet the consul good morning and smiled at him.
She just asked me 2 questions, what is my fiance's job, I told him he is in the Military.
And the last question, where is he stationed at. And then she smiled and said my papers were good and congratulated me!
YAYY! I guess I'm really really lucky today!

Very happy for you!

PhilippinesOur Journey Begins!

Welcome and all the best in your journey.

To make things easy for all of us when chatting with you could you update your profile and Timeline once you know if you are EAC OR WAC (1st three letters of the numbers on the NOA1, 797 form) then change your service center location to Vermont or California, as that will help all with answering your questions.

All the best!

Mahalo everyone for the warm wishes! Hank...our packet is going to California!

PhilippinesOur Journey Begins!
Aloha everyone!

My name is Steve and I am from Honolulu Hawaii. My fiancee is Joan from Malolos City. We me on Facebook almost 8 months ago. I made my first visit to the beautiful Philippine Islands in June and returned two weeks ago with Joan's ring! She said yes! I returned to Hawaii and filed our I-129F. I got an email on Wednesday stating that our case was open!

Salamat to all of you for your posts, stories, tips, etc...you've been a great support already!

 That's good news..good for you. My problem is doubled NSO BC registrations. It is now in court and still waiting for the decision. We are Sept. filer, :help: please Lord, help us.

I am so new to this that I don't even know what that means. Do I understand that two different birth certificates were issued and now you are in court to see which one is valid? UGH...I'm sorry.

PhilippinesBirth Certificate Blues!
Update: I called the Philippine Consulate and they do not think it is a major problem!!! The big thing is that her name and date of birth are correct. She said that if we want then Joan can have her parents write a statement saying that there is a discrepancy and that she was a single birth and have it notarized!

PhilippinesBirth Certificate Blues!
Hi Everyone,

First a huge "salamat" from Joan and me. We would be going nuts if it wasn't for the wonderful support here. Joan and I are waiting for our NOA2 (sorry I don't know how to attach our timelines but the NOA1 date is October 15, 2012--engagement date is October 3, 2012!). Joan has had nothing but problems with her birth certificate. First they had her mother's name wrong and she had to file to get it fixed (3 1/2 months!). She just got the revised birth certificate and has an appointment to get her passport on February 12th. She just wrote to me and said: "I checked my birth certificate last night before I sleep have another problem they put x on the type of birth three or more it means triplet what do you think the DFA look for it...?"

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Is it a problem? Is there an "easy" fix or are we in for another 4 month delay?

Thank you SO much!

Actually, they are at ~210 days now, and growing.

But yeah, just wait.

PhilippinesIs it a good idea to send more info now or to just wait?
CONGRATS on the NOA2!!! Thanks for the additional info on the RFE timelines...

Yeah I thought like you also and I ended up not sending more info because others said it was a waste. My NOA2 was just approved today and I didn't include any photos, just the passport stamp and yahoo transcripts. I would just let it be, if you get an RFE I here it's only a couple weeks to approve after that.

PhilippinesIs it a good idea to send more info now or to just wait?
Thanks B_J!

Yes the waiting is so hard...all of you who have made it through the process inspire Joan and me every day. The original packet was pretty thick and the finances won't be a problem so I guess it is back to holding our breath and keeping our fingers crossed!

I wouldn't try sending more info. Just save it for the interview. And don't worry about the age difference. Shouldn't be a problem in Manila.

As long as you sent enough evidence with the initial packet and you've got the finances covered for the interview then you should be okay. It's just the waiting that is so hard.

StevephotoMalePhilippines2013-02-18 17:18:00
PhilippinesIs it a good idea to send more info now or to just wait?
Hi everyone,

This might be just my nerves getting the best of me, but I wonder if it would be beneficial or even possible to send more documentation to USCIS now. Joan and I are at the 120 day mark post-NOA1 (October 15, 2012) and I know that the CSC is at about 180 days--2 months of agony to go. Here are my thoughts/concerns: we filed our I-129F after my second visit to the Philippines (we had been together for 8 months at that point). We included plenty of evidence--photos (including "the proposal"), receipts (including the receipt for Joan's ring), my letter to her parents and their reply, evidence of thousands of emails back and forth, etc. I went back to see her in December and we are now well over 11,000 emails. Would it help for me to send copies of photos and receipts from my December visit along with more email evidence or would that just slow things down more? Is it even possible to amend an application? For what it is worth, there is a large age difference--I am 51 and Joan is 22.

Salamat for all the help and advice...I read through the posts every few days....

PhilippinesOne year!
Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to share that it has been 1 year today since Joan sent me her first note on Facebook! It has been a combination of the most beautiful year of my life as I discovered what it was to be head-over-heels out-of-my-mind in love with someone and agonizing with all of the waiting and uncertainty of the visa process! Verdict: Waiting for the absolute love of my life far exceeds the hassles of the process--especially with all of the support and encouragement here!

Happy Anniversary Joan...I love you!
StevephotoMalePhilippines2013-02-25 01:48:00
Philippinesany october 2012 filer who already got their noa2?
October 15th for us...CSC...nothing yet...just hoping that we are getting closer to the top of the pile! I'm not sure that it has anything to do with how long we have been together but where in the stack of applications you are. :(

Congrats on the NOA2! Joan and I are hoping for mid to late March...
