PhilippinesIssued!!??!?

Wooo Hoo! maybe a new record? or am I just getting my hopes up?  We were scheduled for our interview on 26 Aug, but everyone knows the hassles we had that day.  So we took our chances and just showed up the next day 27 Aug and got our interview then.  I had to leave to return home that evening.

When i got home I checked our status on the CEAC website, and it showed approved with a status udpate date of 27 Aug!.  Then later that evening I checked again and it had changed to AP with a new date of 28 Aug.  Just checked it this morning and it's now Approved! with a date of 28 Aug.

Is this the final status change? and should I be able to start tracking in via 2Go's tracker? or am I just getting my hopes up? and should expect it to go back to AP?

Never mind! Looked a bit closer at the appointment letter, guess I mistook a 3 for a 9, entered the correct UID # and got

April chose to pick it up at SM City North EDSA, so I'm guessing it should be there by this afternoon?

Anyway guess it's time to start making flight reservations!

I've got a question for all you tracking experts, have you tried to track on the 2Go website using either just the passport number or MNL Case #? I don't think the UIC # from the appointment letter we have is valid any longer since we interviewed the day after our appointment (26 Aug).  When they put the barcode sticker on the passport, and the other on the 2GO delivery paper the used ones from a generic roll, not the pre-printed ones from the days sheet.

Sounds like a great idea, sent you a pm.  But for April and I will have to be after Sept 25.  That's the day we're flying back together.

First you need to learn 2 magic phrases...Please and Thank You...

That being said, don't really remember the exact details, but I do remember having problems when I first tried to schedule our appointment, tried different browsers, tried different computers (Mac at home, vs PC at work) Think what finally worked was just waiting...Think the 4 hr timeframe the embassy gives for updating the payment information from BPI wasn't realistic.  Took more like 24hrs for me.

Oh, BTW. You're welcome!dancin5hr.gif

PhilippinesPort of Entry

Nothing to fill out for the I-94.  At the POE the officer will stamp your passport, and write in (I think) the catagory of visa, and expiration date.  Later, you will need to go to the website metioned in Hanks guide to print out a hard copy of the I-94.

He will need to fill out the CBP Form 6059B, Customs Declaration on the plane. Make sure he does not plan to bring in any fresh fruits, vegitables, plants, meat (or meat by products, often found in soup mixes, instant noodle dishes, etc)  this is not an all inclusive list of prohibitied items.

PhilippinesRFE

We used fedex, but was just at LBC to send April her final (hopefully) remittance via Send n Swipe.  Asked about sending boxes from Manila to Hawaii, and they said that most people don't send in that direction because they charge by weight in that direction.  Said people only send documents in that direction, so maybe LBC is an option.

PhilippinesTaxi from Malolos Bulacan to Ermita

i dont check much at craigsllist but somehow sulit.com is a lil like craigslist. same, there are fakes but there are also real ones. i've been using sulit.com to find condos to rent..there are trusted posters and there are also not.. but if u feel that they are not, u may check those other links i sent besides the prices are almost the same with those in sulit.com

if you can't really find a service then joan might have someone to accompany her to travel esp if she is not familiar with the route to Ermita.

Thanks...I probably wouldn't hesiitate if it was for me but I think I will stick with the other two references you gave me for Joan. Worst case scenario is that she can take a bus to the SM SuperMall and get a taxi to the hotel...not my favorite option, but she took the bus to get her passport. I am really surprised that the hotel has not responded--or the two taxi companies for that mattter!

have her take a bus. its not that far.

ive taken a bus in and out of bulacan (even with my son at 7 months old) and never had a problem.

also she can take some UV Express vans going to SM North Edsa then she take a cab from there going to Ermita.

Thanks. She might do that...she took the bus to get her passport with no problem.

Thanks Everyone,

I sent a note to the Lotus Garden but I haven't heard back---strange, they are usually very good about responding. I sent emails to Hannan and Metrolink...

this one is having their car rented.. they are from malolos. maybe u can negotiate with them if it wont take whole day since joan will just be dropped off in ermita. and if she will be picked up before going to manila, the car and driver is already in malolos.. http://www.sulit.com...,Position,1-3,3

Salamat...how is that sulit website? Is it like a craigslist? I know that this is a case by case basis, but iin general how trustworthy are  these ads/posters? I have my doubts about craigslist ads here...

PhilippinesTaxi from Malolos Bulacan to Ermita

Hi again! I've been busy on here recently...salamat for all your help.

Joan is coming from Malolos to Manila on Monday for her medical. She is staying at the Lotus Garden Hotel in Ermita. We usually hire Nissan Taxi to bring her to Manila. They charge P1,800 plus tolls. Nissan is closed this weekend for a party. Can you recommend another trustworthy company?

PhilippinesSo how long does it take at the embassy?

Thanks Hank. This whole thing right down to the cell phone rule seems to be an exercise designed to test our patience. On the bright side, the last twenty laps or so of Talladega rocked and the Fox cartoons are all new tonight. So at least my vigil will be an entertaining one. jest.gif

Love it! Good luck..!

PhilippinesURGENT!!!! Postal ID

In that case, maybe the barangay captain would accompany your fiancée's parents to a local notary's office and vouch for them.

By the way, since PRISM and St. Marys no longer handle CFO seminars, I've noticed that the CFO often doesn't ask for parental advice forms.  However, I still believe it's better to go fully prepared.

If all else fails, have the parents waiting outside of the CFO with you.

Thanks!

PhilippinesURGENT!!!! Postal ID

Why the sudden urgency?

I am going to the Philippines on May 27th to be with her (waiting outside) for the CFO. We need the notarized parental advice and therefore need her parents ID for the notary!

PhilippinesURGENT!!!! Postal ID

Would a police clearance be OK for a notary?

StevephotoMalePhilippines2013-05-07 05:16:00
PhilippinesURGENT!!!! Postal ID

Before, anyone can get a cedula without presenting any kind of ID card.

Nowadays (at least here in Las Pinas City), you need to present a valid ID before they will issue a cedula.

If both of your fiancee's parents are without birth certificates, maybe the parents' next of kin can act as her guardian who can sign the parental advice form. An uncle or aunt maybe? Of course they should have a valid ID as well. They should all together go to the LCR in case the LCR officer asks why the parent cannot sign the form.

I don't know if others have done this. This is just my suggestion.

Thank you...

PhilippinesURGENT!!!! Postal ID

I'm sorry...I think this was addressed before but I am hitting panic mode so forgive me....would the cedula be enough for a notary to get the parental advice?

PhilippinesURGENT!!!! Postal ID

A person needs at least a birth certificate and a barangay clearance to get a postal ID.

Thanks...next question: How do we get the parental advice form notarized with no ID?

PhilippinesURGENT!!!! Postal ID

Sorry...this has been partially discussed in other posts but I have a specific question: Can a person with NO ID (no birth certificate, no NBI, no...anything) get a postal ID? The downloaded application form does not ask for anything, but a webpage listing the requirements clearly state BC and NBI as requirements...Our backs are against the wall here...

Philippinesneed URGENT advise re: St. Lukes appointment letter

I presented the ff to SLEC:

-pre-registration printout

-K1 visa interview appointment (scheduled online)

-NOA2

And SLEC is still looking for an "appointment letter" that officially assigns me my MNL#

How do I get one urgently? Need it tomorrow...

Can I just tell them we dont have it?

Joan was asked the same thing on Monday...there is no letter! Tell them that you got the case number on the phone. She went back yesterday and did the vaccinations, got the CD and packet and went home.

PhilippinesParental Advice Form

She can have the form notarized at the Philippine Consulate in Bangkok.

PhilippinesParental Advice Form

some attorneys, notarize the document without the person who signed, in front of them.. joan can take the form to the notary public as long as the form has th esignature of her parent/s then bring her parent's ID... govt issued ID is preferred but some uses cedula. i had asked the attorney about this and told me, my father need not to be present once he notarize the form..as long as the form has my father's signature and ID, he will notarize it.. just dont know if the other atty in joan's place also does like the atty i went to.also no need for witnesses the atty said..

There are other complications...sorry to be vague but I need to go back to my original question: what if a notary is not an option...at least for her parents signature. How much of problem is this going to be? Joan will be 23, so she needs the advice...Would witnesses be OK?

StevephotoMalePhilippines2013-05-05 00:04:00
PhilippinesParental Advice Form

It should be notarized.  As I've said, she won't have a difficult time looking for a notary public because there are lots of them at or within the vicinity of the Municipal Hall.

The issue is not finding a notary...we can find one...her parents might not be able to get off work to go...

PhilippinesCFO thing

You can open the plastic bag, just don't open the envelope mark "DO NOT OPEN" that has the cut corner.  My wife took her passport out then she left everything else in the plastic bag until POE.

Thanks!

PhilippinesCFO thing

You will receive a sealed packet. You will be able to see the passport through the plastic. You can cut a small part of the plastic so you can retrieve the passport. Do not open the yellow envelope inside the plastic.

I am not sure if K3 gets an Immigrant Data Summary. But it is a one-page insert on the visa packet with your information on it.

I was wondering how to retrieve the passport! Thanks!

PhilippinesCFO - Need Advise

Back..as promised.

I went to CFO last tuesday, May 7, 2013. I presented the following: my passport, marriage contract (US based) original and photocopy, immigrant data sheet, visa.

They ask me to go straight to 3rd floor, the lady checked on their computer and told me that i dont need to attend their seminar anymore since ive been there last year. They put a note on my papers " for revalidation only".

They ask me to pay pHp 400.00, and put an updated sticker on my passport.

They didnt ask me to have my marriage contract on a blue ribbon or nso certified or recognition..

Thank god for a smooth CFO transaction..

FANTASTIC!!!
