yes, i was given a whitepaper after interview explaining that they still have to wait for my medical results to be submitted directly by SLEC... no other documents needed... i inquired from SLEC... they sent me an email saying they already submitted my results even before my interview.. in fact 3 days before my interview... and it was clear to me when the consul said that i just have to wait for my passport with visa stamp within 7-10 days.. but to my frustration it didn't happen... called USEM yesterday and the agent told me... the medical result has no relation to why im still on AP.. asked them what are the reasons, the agent refused to tell me.. and advised me to just wait.. asked until when, she answered me.. no definite date..

my husband called USEM twice already... and agents just told him that my case is under AP and they cannot give any other information... and they advised him to just wait... agents didn't even mention the 60 days time period stated on their website... this is like a guessing and waiting game...

? What is Administrative Processing? AP is also called Additional Administrative Processing and is when the applicant is being checked more closely. It can be for security checks which encompass fingerprints and/or name checks or for document verification.

? When does Administrative Processing Happen? AP can happen at any time during your processing. It can happen at a service center, at the NVC level, or at the embassy level. It mainly is discussed here in the forums at the embassy level.

? Who can get Administrative Processing and Why? AP usually affects men and women from certain countries but anyone can get AP. Persons coming from T countries (Terrorist Countries) seem to have more security checks and have to endure AP at the embassy level after their interview. Common names, your nationality, religion, education, relationship of applicant, travels and job can all be factors for AP. Having incomplete or missing documents will also cause a case to be put in AP. In some cases if the embassy does not believe in the validity of the relationship they can investigate it further with a field investigation.

? What are the T-Countries? Although it is classified, the list of countries reportedly affected by these restrictions includes, but is not limited to, Afghanistan,
Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Djibouti, Egypt,
Eritrea, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya,
Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia,
Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates,

? Can I check the status of my case? The embassy will not in many cases respond to emails until a certain amount of time has elapsed. The best bet is to contact Department of State aka: DOS and ask them for an update bi-weekly. They will not be able to give you details but they can tell you if the case is still pending in AP or cleared.

? DOS information: DOS can be contacted Monday through Friday during business hours. You must have all information concerning your case with you so that they can assist you.

? Can I expedite this process? The simple answer is NO. No one can expedite the checks since they are considered a matter of National security. An elected official can only make a congressional inquiry on your behalf. They cannot get the checks finished any faster.

? Does AP have any time frame for completion? NO AP can last anywhere from days, weeks, months and in a few cases years.

Anyone that happens to be given a 221(g) or Administrative Processing letter must be patient and let them do their work. Do not call constantly and ask about your case. Remember each time your case is moved it can then end up at the bottom of the stack and your time can be extended. Each case is different so you cannot judge your case by any other and each consulate/embassy may have a different average time for completion of AP.

yes it was about my medical but that was not actually late... SLEC submitted my results 3 days before my interview.. and the last agent ive talked to, im on AP but not because of the medical results... and for what reason, they said they are not allowed to say anything...




Crazy. That was more than a month already. What actions you did? Did your fiance appeals about it and call them?

There was an issue before with Expedia regarding their partner hotels especially the small ones claiming small hotels are always full therefore forcing the customers to book on more expensive ones. I just don't know if they do this with airlines. Hopefully not. As it's price competition.

I Used Vayama and Travelocity when looking for cheap flights though in the end will not use their service and just directly book from The airline itself. Like my ticket, used Travelocity and got a ticket for $900++ only and booked directly using Delta website.

= depends if you will have an attorney to make it for you

= depends if you just want it to be handwritten and not having it notarized then it won't cost you any

Yes they are open for interviews also. Meaning they are on a regular operation on monday.

Call them on monday. They are open on monday even if it is holiday. It is stated on their facebook that they do not recognized 26 as a holiday.

Hello everyone, I am not new to the site, but joined recently because i realized its where I should have been all along.

I sceduled (online) my fiancee for an interview for K-1 visa at the manila embassy for 19 Aug at 0730. She showed up and was handed a slip of paper and told to call back or go to the website to reschedule.
I have called the 214-571-1600 number every 3 seconds for the last several hours. (it is during the posted Philippine business hours) I used an auto dial app. on my smartphone.
I have NEVER gotten through on this line now or ANY other time I have called,,can someone pls tell me in laymans terms ####### is going on? what is this business about a  number to call and get a "PIN" valid for 3 calls? what is this all about and why should I do that when I can supposedly just contact them from the USA directly using the 571-1600 number?
 
Iof course the website is useless, I enter my recepit number and it says its not valid,,( I am assuming it thinks I already had an interview and wants anothre receipt number,,,another fee)
Why is the US embassy so useless in such a simple scenario?

Hi. My schedule was also aug19, then yesterday thursday, they posted on their website and facebook that we should wait for further instructions on rescheduling our interview. So i keep on calling them. And i called them using the USA number, i am here in PH then i used free magic jack call. And after waiting and waiting i am instructed to go back at the embassy today 23rd without rescheduling and just have to present my old appointment letter. So i finished my interview today. I also got an email that instructs me to go back today. Check your email you got instructions too. I think she will still be prioritized on monday

Just spoke to the Manila Embassy and tried (hence the term) to reschedule. No luck. they had to escalate my issue to management to resolve the receipt number problem. When (hence the term) it gets resolved I can try again to reschedule the interview online.

so we still have something to look forward tomorrow regarding with the visa scheduling. tomorrow's interview are also cancelled that makes up 3days of interview to catch up. lets hope for the best that they would come up with a very good plan for us who were affected.

The U.S. Embassy in Manila will be open for business on Thursday, August 22. However, the Embassy's Consular Section will be closed for all but emergency Consular services. Information regarding rescheduling of visa appointments will be available tomorrow afternoon on our website. thank you for sharing Jay. I was able to set up an appointment at Aug26 as well. There are so many slots available.. I was wondering if they opened this slot to accommodate everyone who wasn't able to show up this week.. as far as I could remember, Aug26 was already closed. Good Thing they did this for us!

Really? I just signed on like normal then it said no appointments schedule and I was able to do it. I was pretty surprised. Try again.. I thought I wasn't going to be able to schedule it either as the date have passed and they might have though that we were already done with the interview.



On the history of your appointments, that can be found on the left side, what does it says on august 20 on you? Coz mine says "scheduled" that is probably the reason why i cant make it. How bout yours?
