The plus side of the CR-1 visa is that he gets his green card when he gets to the USA and doesn't have to adjust status. We bought the plane tickets before we got the visa, but we were literally driving back and forth from our city to the Embassy (4 hours away by bus) two days prior to our flight, hoping we would have the visa issued in time. Luckily, it was issued but I was almost in serious panic mode. I'd advise against it. I also flew back to the USA with my husband, and I literally HAD to be in the USA on the day that we flew back, but it was so stressful and I wish that it didn't have to be that way -- so if there is no reason why you HAVE to be in the USA (I'm guessing no - my reason was a family matter) then wait until after the visa is issued. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	help with expedite	ok your husband first needs to call the uscis and place a service request for an expedite. preferably with a tier 2 operative. they will take down his details and reasons and then send a request for further info from him. this will arrive in the mail a few days later. once you receive that, the evidence in reponse can be sent in the mail or faxed, in the meantime you can compile the evidence the uscis will need. the dr letter can be addressed 'to whom it may concern' followed by the specialist reasons you are requesting an expedite. thank you , my husband just called the uscis and they said they would submit the expedite request to the CSC hopefully within 5 DAYS they will contact him, my husband is getting the doctors letter ready and other evidence i hope they can grant us the expedite, now is just wait and hope for he best.	catracha85	Female	Honduras	2010-12-29 10:18:00

There are restrictions such as living in the US (and it's territories) to receive some of these benefits. From my understanding chief is that all child support has to be paid in full before you can even apply to bring someone over. My husband had a friend who got stuck in Honduras could not get a passport until all was paid. The divorce issue as long as you have proof you should be fine. As per income my husband too is a navy retiree, you still need to write down your last job as unemployed. If you receive any Veteran disability payment include it as income anything helps. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	NVC help please	Gary, checking box number two to put you as the choice of agent is the best choice since NVC would send you all the bills and ask you for wathever information they need, since you are here in the US it makes it easier and faster to get anything form them. Have you called NVC to give them both of your email addresses?????? if not you should since you could fill out the choice of agent form online and email to NVC for a faster response as long as it comes from her email address of course.
