K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	USCIS Status Check Addicts	I remember I used to check the USCIS website every day the first 2 months (I don't know why!) but I stopped checking it so I wouldn't drive myself crazy. I tried to come to terms that they would simply email me when my case had been approved, and that's exactly what happened. I remember that I resolved to STOP checking the website and to STOP checking VJ, then a few days later the approval came into my inbox when I was least expecting it! Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	never filled for change of address	So, am preparing to file for ROC in January, and reading many threads here, I read that every time you change of address you should inform USCIS...well never heard of that before, intill now. (kind of panic).......I've been in the US almost close to the two years, and moved 3 times in all this time. So I had have 3 different addresses without uscis knowing. Now that I know I stupidly made this simple mistake what do I do? Do I just file online the A-11 with my latest address? Do I explain in the ROC package about this mistake in the coverletter?? National Visa Center (Dept of State)	From USCIS To NVC	hello jasar, let me tell u that we were in the position actually we still there after 6 week of delay ,y bf call his congressman cuz uscis said ur file was approved and sent to nvc but nvc never got it.... so the congressman start doing his job and u wont believe this uscis approved but for some reason they never sent it to nvc, so no we have a second noa2 so we were approved twice, the was the last week and nvc doesnt have again we are can of furious and this is piss me off ggggrrrrrrr. we will wait untill Friday and if nvc say again that they dont have it my bf will contact his congressman again. and u should do the same.	keydymenro	Female	Honduras	2010-03-18 00:19:00

I was told to read the paragraph below which states: the approved application had been forwarded to the consulate. not the NVC. That being said i was under the immpression that the NVC had to assign a case number? will this cause us problems? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2009 Filers	"it goes to the State Dept." HOW? Ask them if they use a carrier (like UPS, Fed Ex, etc.) or US Mail. I thought I remembered reading that they use carriers which are TRACEABLE. "which has other priorities to clear". When I called NVC, I was told that they do not have to do anything with 129F petitions except assign the new case number and send it on it's merry way to the embassy. 90 days...that's a put off. "there is no way to verify it has been sent". That's #######. Your file has a barcode on it which is supposed to allow them to accurately trace it. It should have been scanned the day it left VSC. Assume nothing! Does anyone else have any ideas? NVC is the state departement they determine if your spouse is eligible for a visa, before sending it off to the repected embassy. The check to see if the spouse was in the US illegally ie over stay of a previous visa. no big deal then its given a number and sent to where ever. The USCIS once its approved i guess it gets thrown in a pile and when it gets sent it gets sent. NVC says typically 2 to 4 weeks. No One at USCIS know where the file is> they say once its approved it gets sent. well USCIS is in VERMONT and NVC in NEW HAMPSHIRE, its been a month even if the carrier is walking he could have made the trip 3 times by now. so where are the files? anyone else having this issue? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2009 Filers	Did you get a hard copy NOA2? If I were you, I would get right back on the phone with Vermont. Insist on them looking up your EAC number and telling you the date it was mailed to NVC. They are supposed to scan your file every time they handle it, and if you received your hard copy NOA2, give them the date on your letter. Your file should have been forwarded on or about that date. If you can't get any answers, ask to speak to a supervisor. After NVC receives your file, they assign a new case number specific to your embassy. USCIS No One knows anything From the supervisor " our process in that it goes to the state Depart. All petitions are procedd the say way. If it states it was sent then it was." it then goes to state department which has other priorities to clear. It will then be cleared given a Number and sent> this can take up to 90 days. They will give an automatic extention because of the time delay is on there end... there is no way to varify that it has been sent or not. but becasue thats what it states on our NOA 2 thats the assumption that has happened. NVC "we dont have your case in the data base. How long has it been? 3 weeks. HUH usually takes 2 weeks. call USCIS I can tell you from experiece with the state department with other issues that i am persuing in there office? Haiti has been turned in to job one. Now i totally agree that what happen there is horrific. But not fair to the rest of us who have been waiting to be pushed back. I believe they use carriers with tracking numbers so they should be able to find out where it is. Don't panic, but stay on top of them until they give you an answer. Good luck! yes i talked to a person on both ends. I asked USCIS when it was sent she said she dont know and can not find out. and wanted to nothing to find out. About the "touched" section: I didn't realize we had been "touched" until I really studied how the whole USCIS register system worked and went through the steps to see when our case had been updated. So it's possible that those percentages could be higher...not that it makes that much difference. The way it's supposed to work: After you get your NOA1, your file goes into background check; that causes the update. So theoretically, everyone should get a "touch" right after their NOA1. I think it's that black hole that is holding up the rest of the Octobers. The checks are provided by agencies. I wonder if they have a system for follow up when the agencies have not responded...besides the measurement of dust that has settled on the untouched files. As for the difference in approval percentages...it's quite possible that human error placed those files ahead of others who have already been through the background check and should have been next in line to adjudication. We're talking milk crates here, people. People lugging around milk crates filled with files. Someone transposed numbers, someone put the crate on the top shelf instead of the bottom...can't you see it happening? I'm still pulling for you guys! LOL!
