We're still not in the system. I have the feeling that everything is going wrong with our case what could go wrong.
I wish you all a merry Christmas and hope you're not missing your spouses to much. It's gonna be weird for me, first time since we're a couple that we're not spending the holiday season together.

Berakah!!!

I told myself that I won't post for the mean time unless it's about NOA1 already.
Thank God!, My mom in law just discover that NOA1 has been sitting in the post office for a week already.
It has receipt date, November 14. Thank you God so much!

November 14 - NOA1 from Vermont Service Center.

YEAHHHHHHHHHH!

How come your papers was received Nov 7th from Oct 10?
Ours was received Nov 7 too and from that time our papers seem to be in nowhere now.
You got the hardcopy already?

we really don't know. maybe it fell under a desk or something. told hubby to keep the UPS receipt and make copies of it, just in case we need to file an inquiry or complaint. with that we got some leverage

our check got cashed on november 19 and we received hardcopy NOA1 on november 21
maybe the calls after 30 days helped. my husband called several times beginning of november and told the guy on the phone that other people filing way later then we did already got their NOA1. he could prove receiving date and time. maybe he got this officer curious
but our case number is still not in the system so i wonder again what could have happened

oh well, life's not a ponyride

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresYAY NOA1..i need a lil help please
Please read the guides and check the NVC website http://travel.state....rants_1340.html
and the Frankfurt consulate website to understand the whole process!

As for your police certificate: I guess that you'll need a new one by the time of the Interview !
For panel physicians: check the consulate's website http://germany.usemb...visa/index.html
Affidavit of Support: read the guides!
Current processing time for the i-130 is 5 months. No one knows how long it will take.

the guides are current and written by someone who has done it!
You're asking general questions and those are well explained in the guides or you can find the answers really easily.
Feel free to ask specific questions about a specific problem.

Good luck for your journey!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical Exam before case complete?

The medical exam is good for 6 months in Germany so we don't have to worry about it expiring. We have not yet received "case complete" from the NVC, but representative at the consulate said that she could go to her medical exam now if she wants to.

she can go, would be best to give the panel physician a call to see what she needs to bring and how much the fee is. The list with the physicians can be found on the consulate's website

I brought last year: interview letter (they only wanted to see the case number), passport photos, passport, the yellow vaccination book, fee

Does Germany require you to complete the vaccination series before immigrating? I don't think I've ever heard of that before, but then I'm not dealing with Germany.

I can say, though.... Good luck!

No they don't, but it's better to complete a course of shots with the same brand of vaccine. In Germany they mainly use Merck's Hep vaccine and this one is relatively new on the American market, so you don't know for sure if it's available in your area of the US.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresImmunizations
This might help you:
http://german.german...munizations.pdf
Look in you appropriate age group what you need.
As far as I know you need 2 MMR shots (in your entire life), if you had Varicella (Windpocken) get a titre test done first instead of the immunization, if you have enough antibodies, take the test results to the medical (beware: Leipzig doesn't accept tests not done by them!), be up to date with TdaP shots.
You don't need Hep A/B (I had it done since the infection risk is higher in the States than in Germany, according to my doctor), but it's recommended. Since this course of shots takes 6 months to complete it might be too late for you.
Good luck!

Chrito, when my wife did her medicals and when we asked the CO at the interview in Frankfurt, she said that medicals are valid for 1 year. Reason I asked was because I did it for my son too so just wanted to be sure.

Thanks for the heads up, the six months was what somebody else got told by the Frankfurt Consulate, so, you never know exactly ;)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresimpatient..paid IV fee 05.02.2010

I just received my NOA1 for CR1 visa. I was reading the NVC guidelines on NVC's website. It mentioned doing the medical tests within 10 days of the interview. Meaning don't do it two weeks before the interview. The document the doctor gives you, call it whatever you want, expires fairly rapidly. So if you got an medical exam a month before the interview, you'll be asked to do it again.

Also, as soon as you get the list of approved doctors/clinics, you can and should call the doctor/clinic to make appointment. Go here http://travel.state..../info_3739.html to find the approved doctors/clinics. Call them up and get a sense of how busy they are, etc. Just to be prepared and all that ish.

Not true.
The medical exam shouldn't be older than 6 months in Germany. The panel physicians in Frankfurt are on walk-in basis only. Don't know about the others. To be on the safe side with the medical, do it as soon as you have the interview letter. If you do it before you have the interview appointment the consulate may not know what to do with your results and they may get lost. The results of the medical exam are sent to consulate directly in Germany, you don't get anything (unless you're a K1, then you get a copy of something)

Have your husband call NVC to see what's going on with the IV bill.

Once NVC has received all they need and processed the case you will have a case complete (again: call NVC AVR system) and then you have to wait for the interview appointment. Once you received your interview letter, NVC will send your file to the CONSULATE in Frankfurt.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresvaccination question
QUOTE (Philosykos @ Apr 2 2009, 03:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Where did you get the information on the high risk of irreversible muscle stiffening, and later allergic reactions? Please post a link. I would like to see the basis for that. I want to be aware of the risks, but I am also aware that there is a lot of anti-vaccination propaganda out there that doesn't usually have much evidence to support it.

That said, I would also rather not get another shot at this point, and I hope that the consular doctor will sign a waiver. What letter would your doctor have given you? From which vaccination experts? I might want to get something like that as well. Thanks!

That's what my doctor told me after talking with an other doctor and calling the university. But since I was on the safe side with the new vaccine we didn't talk about that anymore. I was just glad I refused to be given a single tetanus shot after a minor accident and some stitches last year. Because if I had that tetanus shot she wouldn't have given me the combined one.
I'm not at all against vaccinations, but you always have to know what's going on.

I would say not to worry about that topic anymore, just wait and see what the panel physician has to say. That's why I'm going to the medical well ahead before the interview (May 14), I think right after Easter, in order to get everything squared away by the time of the interview.
ChritoFemaleGermany2009-04-02 09:47:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresvaccination question
Same here, I wanted to get the shot because of getting pregnant next year. Talked to my Gyn and she said it doesn't matter whether to have the shot or not.
After talking to my doctor she gave me the Tdap, my next Td shot was due in 2011, so I've been on the safe side. If I weren't she wouldn't have done it, she would have gotten me a letter from the vaccination experts containing that the risks are way to high. And I didn't want to take the risk to get a stiff muscle which can't be reversed plus an allergic reaction to all upcoming tetanus and diphtheria shots. (just google covaxis, that was my vaccine)

Anyhow, pertussis vaccination work only in 85%, one of my younger relatives got it a couple of years ago although he was fully vaccinated

I read that the panel physicians can grant a waiver if it is not medically appropriate to have a vaccination

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresvaccination question
My doctor called vaccination experts from a nearby university about that matter. The single pertussis shot is not available anymore in the whole wide world...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshow long
medical in Frankfurt: no appointment necessary, I just went there at 7.30 in the morning. fee: 140 euros, bring a passport foto (I brought 2, just in case), NVC number, passport (important, they need the passport number), vaccination records. It's useful to check with the family doctor first if any shots are necessary. She needs to be up to date with those shots: Tdap (if she had a Td in the past 5 years, she most likely get a waiver for this one), Polio, (2) two measels-rubella-mumps shots in her entire life, under/or 26: HPV, also history of varicella (either she had them and knows at which age or her GP could do a titer test), without any varicella history she most likely will need the shot. I had the varicella titer test done and my GP wrote it in my vaccination records, just in case.

Good luck!

oh, and remember, most likely there will be a white page with all the relevant info concerning her and you attached to the brown envelope. Do not remove this page! when I checked in for the flight, the flight attendant at the gate wanted to this envelope to compare it with the visa sticker in my passport. make sure your fiancee wraps it up in clear foil (document protection thingies will do) and have her ready to present it when she checks in.

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)German people...rührt euch!!
Hallo meine Lieben!

Da bin ich wieder. He he...

Und mein Schwiegervater will mir was von "finest artesian water" erzaehlen....
