K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHow many days is the longest without Alien Registration Number changed?

I was wondering this as well. I never got an official notice that the A number did change, but it says on the USCIS site (when checking my case status with the reciept number).. "On November 21, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)" ... I got my email NOA1 on Nov. 15 and hard copy NOA1 on Nov. 22. I assume with the NOA2 we will have an official Alien number that the embassy will use.

Veteran VJers, does this sound correct?

Question. If they send an RFE, does it say on the USCIS site that they sent one? I've seen some people say they don't notify you by email or text. Thoughts/experiences?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNovember 2013 filers?

Please be strong. Diana and I filed going on 3 months ago and still no word. I feel your frustration.. The only option we have to do is wait though. 5 months is not that long and all this will be a drop of water in a bucket compared to our lives.

Think about it like this; the longer you wait and the more effort that goes into this, the more powerful it will be once you and your fiancée are actually together. I know that Diana and I were prepared to wait the worst case scenario for this visa because we truly love one another and this Is the only way.

Please be strong! I am in this with you and I know how hard it is. It will be over soon.. Just remember that nothing worth having comes easy in this world.. or it wouldn't be worth working for!!

My thoughts exactly, Foxxy. We've got 3 months down, worse case scenario, its 2 more , and things seem to have been speeding through the NVC.. and once it's out of there, it will be in our loved ones' embassies and that is the light at the end of this frustrating tunnel.

Happy Friday everyone :) I'm a November filer (I still have to make my timeline, I know!) sent my I-129F package on 11/7, NOA1 email 11/15, hard copy and ARN changed 11/21. Waiting on NOA2!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I check this thread every day (maybe more than once rolleyes.gif) and you guys are all so much help to me! We can all relate and it's nice to have you all and hear your stories, successes, and even problems! So I'm just here to spread some love and remind everyone how lucky we are! A year from now, this thread will be a distant memory and we will (hopefully) be married to the ones we love! How wonderful is that?! luv.gif

So patience, my friends. Our time will come! Marriage lasts forever and this process, thank the universe, does not!

Hi guys!

So i'm just starting the K1 process and I have almost everything in order except for the I-134. I am in between jobs right now and definitely don't meet the requirements to support another person at the moment but my fiancée has enough for the both of us. I was planning on having my parents co-sponsor but then I noticed on the K Visa FAQ page http://www.visajourn...visa-I129f.html they recommend leaving the I-134 out.

Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Fluff, I'm currently unemployed as well and just starting the K1 process. Do you have to include the I-134 with the original I-129F or are they only worried about it down the road for the interview? I hope to have a job by then, but my dad will be sponsoring us. Also, my fiancée has enough in savings to be considered above poverty level.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - March 2014

Hey Saylin,

Does NVC send a confirmation email for i-864 and IV support documents sent by email for electronic processing?

We received an auto 'Out of Office" notice for i-864 documents sent on Friday. Not sure if this automated reply was due to office closed for weekend.

We sent IV documents this evening (8:30PM) but did not get an auto response.

Do we wait for confirmation email or resend these documents again?

Please advise.

Thanks

This happened to me. We were yellow triangled on Friday, but couldn't pay. I received the invoice email at about 1:30 EDT this morning and was able to pay as soon as I noticed the email when I got up for work. It sometimes takes a day or two for things to sync up. Don't worry, it's sadly a common thing.

Thanks. We sincerely appreciate your prompt response!

Good night!

IV fee line shows a Yellow Triangle and "Not Paid" status but if we click 'Pay" tab it takes us to next page and can't pay IV as the SELECT column not available.

Is it just us or a common thing?

When is IV invoiced? Do we receive an invoice email?

For the NVC website the recommended browser is internet explorer because that it what they designed it for. But there are people on this thread that used chrome and were fine. I wouldn't worry - wait a another business day or two and you should know whether it went through or not. It took a few days of "processing" for me too.

Some people it failed and once they got that notification they could go back in and pay through IE. I would recommend making sure to use internet explorer when you pay the IV fee and you go to fill out the DS 260

:)

Thanks Gwenstar for a super fast reply. We will wait a couple of days and hope it goes through. We will make sure to use IE for NVC in the futures.

Have a nice evening!

Such a good feeling to be going to the next step. it's just so interesting because we are almost exact same NVC dates for everything and then we both dreamed the same thing :) see ya on the case complete thread :)

As long as it's a US bank account there should not be any problems. :) just make sure to make the payment through internet explorer and not chrome.

Hi Gwenstar, we paid AOS fee from our US bank account on March 19th. We used chrome. Should we be worried as it says 'in progress'? It has been only three working days though.

For employment, gaps are fine. It's just residence where there can't be gaps.

Added! IR-5 visas are derivatives of IR-1/CR-1, so that's fine for the spreadsheet ;)

Was your I-130 approved from NBC or was it transferred at some point?

Thanks for adding us Saylin. Our case was at NBC and then was transfered to CSC in December 2013.

Hey Saylin,

Thank you so much. You are an angel. We have been following this thread for long time and can't thank you enough for the work you do :)

We are IR5 beneficiaries and are not sure if you want us to add in this thread. But here is our timeline:

NOA1: 07/29/2013

NOA2: 01/29/2014

Case file received by NVC: 02/07/2014

NVC number issued: 03/17/2014

Embassy: Montreal, Canada

We have sent the ENROLL email this morning. We checked NVC websites for payment & 261 and they are not available yet (too early).

At present we do not have any questions as most are answered in your 1st and 2nd posts.

Thanks and have a nice day!

I think they don't accept laminated certificates. You may want to get a certified(not notarized) or another original certificate.

Well, if you filed a 1040, you were supposed to use total income, not adjusted gross income. You can wait and see if they catch it or not (sometimes they don't), but if you want to be preemptive, yes, you can send the 2013 tax transcripts as well as a corrected I-864.

Thanks Saylin.

We sincerely appreciate your prompt reply. We will re-send i864 with correct attachments.

Have a nice weekend!

Saylin,

We attached copy of form 1040 for year 2013 taxes as Tax Transcripts were not available at the time of emailing AOS support documents. However on our i864 the income for year 2013 is not total gross income but adjusted gross income. We have not received a checklist yet (emailed documents on April 2nd). We do have Tax Transcripts available now hence should we just email corrected i864 with right attachments or wait for a checklist.

Please advise.

Hey Saylin and fellow VJers!

I forgot to put my middle name in DS260 form (page 1) and am worried if this would cause me any problems. I called NVC and the representative said it should not be an issue and I may bring this to the notice of Embassy at the time of interview.

Completing DS260 is a lengthy process. We had two forms to complete (me & my wife). Her's is fine.

Did anyone (besides me) made such a silly mistake?

My AOS fees now appear as paid.  Can I go ahead and email in my scanned AOS and supporting documents?  Or do I need to wait.  I've seem some people say that we have to mail the documents in, but I am doing electronic filing with MTL, can I still email in scanned copies instead of mailing it?

I have seen some VJers advising to email just after the fee shows as paid. I emailed three times. I was talking to NVC representative this afternoon and did ask him on this. He told that NVC reviews documents in order as they are received. The only question is: Would they receive if before we get ENROLL acceptance email?

Oh, Saylin, I miss you.  It's just not the same without you here in the forum!

My triangles of doom appeared on Monday, and, since I'm using an attorney, I'm watching carefully to see what happens.  I tried to "pay" them tonight - just for fun, and got the "incorrect" message - so I'm hoping the invoices are ready tomorrow, and my attorney will be on top of them!  She's been fabulous so far - but I'm watching anyway!

Just twiddling my thumbs.

Saylin, how did your first week at your new job go?  How many boxes have you unpacked?

Sukie

We agree. Saylin is the back-bone of this forum. But she has lot on her plate and needs time to settle down in new job and place.

We miss you Saylin!

Hi Everybody,

I received a checklist for my AOS today. For those people doing electronic processing make sure you submit every page including page 9 which is for the lawyer if you have one. Its a blank page if you are doing your own application but will be checklisted if not included with your scanning. even though page  8 is your contract with your signature and date. I guess Saylin you can add this as your tips for checklisted if not added already.

I started this process with a full head of hair and now I almost look like Kojak.....

Very important tip. Thanks for sharing.

Is it OK to resend i-864 AOS support documents for EP?

We had submitted AOS support documents via email on Friday, March 28th. Based on discussions in threads by VJers we realized that we sent 2013 Income Tax Return Form 1040 without attaching schedules. We had included all other documents for 2012 & 2011 tax years. Tax Transcripts for 2013 were not yet available on IRS website hence we attached Form 1040.

Will NVC consider our revised email with correct attachments or we should expect a check list?

Jag & RipuMaleCanada2014-04-02 09:01:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - April 2014

For I-864, if you are submitting tax transcripts then you do not need to submit any other schedules or attachments. If you do not have a tax transcript, then you need to submit the whole tax filing package (1040, and all the schedules) plus W2 etc.

Thanks bkghosh. She used Tax Transcripts for 2012 and 2011 but for 2013 used 1st two pages of actual tax filing at HR Block. She however attached her current employment letter, pay stub ending February 2014, W2 and 1099 for 2013. Her income is not a problem.

Do we need to worry for getting a check list. I suppose NVC only needs to see if petitioner has sufficient income to support. Shall we resend I-864 with full schedules for 2013?

Regards

Jag

Help on I-864!  if I have salaried and self-employed income and I am submitting a tax TRANSCRIPT, do I still need to include a COPY of my schedule C?

The transcript is proof I did it appropriately right?

We also like to know this. Our petitioner submitted I-864 with Transcript only for 2013 along with W2 and 1099. She submitted Transcripts for three years. In 2012 and 2011 her income was only from salary but in 2013 it was a combination of salary and self-employed income.

I left my I-864 blank where I didn't need to fill it out, I really hope I don't get a checklist for that

We have seen some VJers getting a check list for not putting N/A for address column. If mailing and residence addresses are same then you need to put N/A in next column. We submitted i-864 blank as where didn't need to fill any info.

Let's hope for the best!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - April 2014

The reason you use IE is because ALL government websites are made to go with IE.  If you happen to make it work in another browser, consider yourself lucky.  Safari is why you had issues, not the forms.  My husband works for the government and every single time I tell him that someone used another browser he mutters bad words under his breath then tells me not to tell him anymore... LOL!  (He was in the USAF for 8 years and now works for the FAA.)

Everyone can do as they like but to not have issues, use IE.  No matter HOW you look at, the US government can see everything you're doing and look at anything they want on your computer.  If it's on there and they want to see it, they will.  If you're worried about outside hackers, a firewall (especially a decent router) generally stops most people as it's too much effort for the average hacker to bother with when there are easier targets.

Take it as you will, just some info from a self professed computer geek, married to a geekier husband who works for the US government.

That's a good advice and from an expert geek :)

We are no computer geeks but it worked well for payments. But the DS-260 questions would have been same on IE and safari. We were sent the 2013 DS 260 forms perhaps.

Enjoy your evening!!!

did you receive a confirmation of ENROLL acceptance before sending the packages?

The DS-260 should be the same for everyone.  I notice some people don't have to to fill in education and past employment, and some people do.  I think they randomly change the form on people.... /grrrr..

Did you use IE to complete the form?

We did not use IE for payments and for filling the forms. I know VJers had suggested to IE but we used Safari instead for better security.

So i finally sent out the IV Package today and was also able to fill out DS-260.. it was super easy and only took me around 40 minutes i would say as i prepared everything beforehand with the 2014 screen shots that someone posted.

Also not sure if this it country specific, but i only had to fill in my present employer and job information and they also didnt ask for my education background, so pretty easy on that part. I didnt take new screen shots, but like i said it was pretty much like the other 2014 ones.

i have to say that after all the wait for a case number it only took my husband and i another week to pay everything and send everything in, so it looks like nvc is working their butts off which i appriciate a lot.. now praying and waiting for no checklists and a case complete this month.

Hi, we did our DS260 (IR5). We were quite well prepared but it took almost two hours for 1st and a little less for 2nd. We were asked information on addresses since age 16; employment for last 10 years; education - starting from secondary school; a whole lot security and other questions. We were also logged out a few times. It was painful. Also, we had to provide info on last 5 visits to US.

Perhaps it is different for Canadians or for IR5.

We received an auto response when we sent out the AOS packet, but we submitted it on Saturday which is what I chalked it up to. I didn't receive one for neither the ENROLL or IV packet email, as both were sent on business days during business hours.

Thanks for your quick response. We did receive Enroll confirmations and also auto response for AOS package but no response for DS260. It is frustrating as NVC does not respond and the call centre representatives cannot confirm the receipt of emails.

All the best to you. Our timelines are same.
