IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - May 2014
We got two checklists on April 30th for AOS and support documents:

1. One for the PDF attachment (petitioners' job letter PDF was password protected).

2. I-864 - item 6 (13.a.1) - petitioner used 'Adjusted Gross income'. We were asked to resend I864 all nine pages with correction and change this to: Total Gross Income (line 22 of Petitioners'1040).

We emailed response to checklist same day.

Called NVC this evening and talked to Mel. He asked us to wait for 20 working days.

We have no choice but to wait. If there were no checklist then we'd have got the case completed by now.

Can I assume that at 8 p.m. Eastern time that Arthur and Joy will have gone home?  I want to get Gus on the line!!!

Hey Sukie,

Gus is nice to talk but Don ( also works in evening) is not only nice but also knows more than Gus. We got check list for AOS and talked to Gus - he was really nice but when we called Don he had better knowledge and provided better solution.

Hi Guys,

Our daughter changed address online. She changed address for both application (me and my wife) in one time by adding both numbers on one page. Our i130 was approved on Jan. 29th. When we check status on USCIS website it shows my wife's status now 'initial review':

Initial Review

On February 4, 2014, your address was changed relating to the I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN that you filed. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

However for my number it shows 'post approval' activities. We are confused. Did they change addresss for both applications? Did they put my wife back on 'Initial Review' again?

Please advise

I just checked and our both applications for IR-5 got transferred today :). The message on USCIS site says 'transferred to local office'.

Our PD date: July 29th.

Now new journey starts for approval of i130 and for NOA2.

Our daughter and her husband are moving for 5 months for a job from Florida to Washington state. She has filed for i130 for us (parents) in July 2013. Does she need to change her address with USCIS? Their permanent address is still in Florida and they will be working in Washington state from Jan to May 2014. Please advise. Thanks and Happy New Year!!!

Guys, We are new here. Is timeline of i130 for parents same as spouse? Our daughter (USC) applied green card for for us. Our NAO1 is July 29, 2013. It is stand alone i130 application. We are Canadian citizen and currently reside in Canada.

Well it's not so much a matter of the actual I-864 being accurate.  I am well aware of the whole N/A thing and filling out all fields correctly.  My question was about writing on supporting documents such as bank statements or pay stubs with comments explaining things about them.  Is this something I would get check listed for?

Well I have no experience on this. You may want to consult Saylin on this.

I have another question.  Our joint sponsor also sent us documents like pay stubs and financial asset statements.  On these statements he wrote all kinds of stuff explaining what they are in pen and circled important numbers.  This would be an alteration of the original document.  I always thought that we would have to explain things like that on a separate notes sheet.  Is NVC going to accept files that are written on like that or are we going to get a check list if we submit them?

NVC issues checklists for very small matters e.g.: not putting N/A or rounding up the income etc. it is much faster and better to send them I-864 as per instructions and wiki on VJ. Edit is up to you. You may want to print/write a new document and ask your sponsor to just sign and not to write anything else. In our case NVC issued checklist for a very small thing on April 30th. We sent checklist reply ( we have two IR5) cases. My checklist reply was reviewed and case complet on June 4th. My wife sent the checklist reply twice on April 30th still they could not find her email and even supervisor review did not help but delayed by another week as she had to send the same email reply that she sent on April 30th again on June 10th and was put in another 30 days BS. We are EP filers.

Make sure that your I-864 is correct before you send.

:ot:  So, I am a skeptic about psychics and people that can "read your future" but some friends of mine had a party last night with a lady that reads tarot cards.  I thought, why not?  For a bit of fun.  She not only told me information about our move that she couldn't have known, but she also "saw" that there had been a delay because of the paperwork and that the correction had been signed and sent back!

This is where the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up..I didn't tell her anything about what part of the process I was in, she wouldn't be up to speed on NVC timelines or anything like that and she "saw" that we would get the all clear by August/September, which is when I would expect to be having the interview.   :wow:

She also "saw" that we would still be here for Christmas and might not move until Dec/Jan.  I am wondering if that means it will take us a while to sell our house..Obviously I am taking this with a grain of salt, but she hit the nail on the head for a lot of other things in my life that she wouldn't have had any prior knowledge about, including the fact I have 3 kids.  She saw 2 girls and a boy, but I have 3 girls. Then she said, one must be a tomboy, and boy is she right! My middle child actually wears Cars underwear! haha

Lastly (sorry long post) she saw that we would eventually return to Australia one day. So I guess I am doing all of this hassle of immigration for nothing.

Anyway, it was a bit of fun to lighten my mood (L)

WOW!!! She seems to be too close to predict things right.

We used to believe in astrology but life taught us to believe in ourselves. Sometimes when we need re-confirmation for things that we are going through or planned and someone puts a stamp - it gives us self-satisfaction. We however do believe in God and Miracles. Hope you get your completed faster than Taro reader's predictions and also have a happier life in the US so no need to go back to Australia. LOL

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 - Co-sponsor Questions

Hi everyone!

I'm in a similar boat. I am currently unemployed, and about to send in the 1-129F and everything else (just starting this whole process!) Do I need to include the I-134 (my dad will co-sponsor me) or is that only needed down the road?

Thanks!
