No, him moving to Holland is not an option, I've had a lot of problems here and Holland is going to ruin because of drugs etc. Not the only reason but it's not an option. He sended his resume to about 7 company's, so lets hope. He is going to ask about his dad (it isn't his real dad btw, it's his stephdad. It's a little complicated lol) How much he earns a year. So hopefully he earns enough to be able to be co-sponsor. Are friends able to be co-sponsor as well?

@ Gary, I'm sorry but if you would be in the same position. you might be i don't know, you'll get stressed out as well. Your comment does not help me. Sure you don't care but i'm not gonne rely on the government there. They are a warm family and they all take care of eachother. No one ever had to rely on the goverment before my fianceé lost his job. So i won't be using money from "tax payers". If Holland does the same thing then the same words for my country.... As far as I know you can get someone to Holland even if you're collecting. My aunt was collecting disabillity and she got someone from Nigeria into Holland. but that was about 5 years ago. No offense, but if you don't care about others falling in love, why are you here on this website helping people out i wonder.... And i have nothing against America, I have something against countries goverments. Get over it? Get over what? That i might never be able to be with the man I love? What a comment is that.... blink.gif

So what about this co-sponsor? Is there still a risk when we have a co-sponsor. We're gonna live in one house with his parents, he barely has any bills except for car insurance and phonebill.... There are several people we could use as an co-sponsor...

How exactly does getting a co-sponsor work? We could for example use his father as co-sponsor. This person has a job. and if i have to believe the guy from USCIS $100 a month is enough....

Me and my fianceé are currently waiting for our NOA2 on the k-1 visa. The thing is that 2 months after filing he lost his good payed job at a cable company. He is now getting an unemployment. But when In the interview they ask what he does for a living, how big is the risk we get denied?? unsure.gif
his unemployment is about $1200 a month and the guy from the USCIS says its not an problem as long as he gets unemployment but this is not a lifetime deal. He'll stop getting it. He is currently looking for a job and really doing his best to find one. But it's really hard nowadays in America with the crisis and everything.. So any thoughts? Idea's? Opinions? I'm very nervous and scared that we'll get denied over this crying.gif

For me it took about 7 days to get package 3 after NOA2. I'd say give it some time. For some it takes longer than 4 weeks.... Maybe try calling after 14 days?

good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan a foreign fiancee go to USA on tourist visa and register a marriage
I'm pretty sure it's not allowed to change your status without permission. It would be an illegal act. At least that's what i've read a few times. (You can also find this information on her visa she has now.) A tourist visa for 5 years? Are you sure its a tourist visa?

He could go to Sri Lanka and marry her there then file for her. Or get engaged and file for k-1. I think k-1 is the fastest way but others might have a different opinion.

Send to the consulate:

2x DS 156, 2x DS 156k, 2x DS 230 Part I only, A copy of your passport biographic data.

I sended a double copy signed of each document. This is all you have to send, rest for the interview:

Take to the interview: Photo's 2x, I-134, Birth Certificate, Police Records, Marriage Cert. (If any) Evidence of relationship, Passport.

And maybe some helpfull information: To the medical, bring 2 photo's, vaccination passport. (A record of all the vaccinations your fiance had in her life) Passport, etc.

Good luck

(I am the beneficiary btw, the reason why they told YOU not to send anything is because your fiance needs to send it, not you.)

After sending all this you will recieve Package 4 with the interview date/medical instructions

I'm pretty sure children under 21 need a k2 visa. You'll also need a permission letter signed by the father of the child.

Others can give you more information about how it works.

That is absolutely ridicilous. Doing it yourself is wrong? Forums are wrong? Because of this forum my fiance and I just got approved and I'm flying home in 34 days.

That website should be shut down. There are many people on this forum who know a lot about the immigration. Or better to say, they know Everything, and if there's something they don't know there's always someone else who does.

Seriously, please don't fall for that, it's BS

" I think sex offenders, as in any man or woman who has sexual contact with any other person against their will "

I agree, but keep in mind in the usa a lot of people that are sex offenders are not people that did things against someones will.

Consensual sex can still be considered rape based on age and state , each state has different rules/limits. One state you could be a sex offender, another, you could be perfectly legal. The rules are not across the board.

I know, thats why I said the "against their will" I know with the underage thing etc.

@cls0881:I am specificially talking about those that have sexual contact with others against their will. Good luck finding one that does not eventually fall back into their old ways. Once blood's been tasted.... Did their time? As in what jail? What about the victim, most will be able to live with it eventually. but theyre signed for life, so should the felon.
I speak from experiences....
You can have your opinions, sure I will never try to change your mind, but I will never give a rapist a second chance for that is like giving my exbf a second chance, and I rather die than to forgive him. :)

Anyway, that is how I feel and think and will not reply anymore

My 50 cents, I think sex offenders, as in any man or woman who has sexual contact with any other person against their will should be locked up in a dungeon never to be released again and suffer for the rest of their lives without any contact with the outside world untill they go to hell and suffer more.

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Dutch: Preparing and Questions
Hello fellow K-1 Filers/Immigrants,

Me (Dutch citizen) and my fiance (American Citizen) have filed for the I-129f back in March. And since that time I'm trying to prepare everything for when I have my interview and medical at the Amsterdam Consulate. But I still haven't figured out what exactly I could do. I've watched some interview questions on this forums, but I'm just afraid it'll be different from our consulate. So I came up with a couple of questions wondering If there are people who already have their visa might be able to answer them. Thanks in advance

Preparing for Interview:

1. Any other forms except for the I-134 and copy's of the others needed?
2. I have about 5 photo's of us, enough? (I could get more)
3. I have millions of pages on msn to proof our relationship... But to print them all? What is best I could do? Also after I went back to Holland from America he bought an microphone which we have been using since now. So we barely have any written communication. Only contact over audio/video from the moment we wake up till the moment we go to sleep.
4. What questions can I expect?
5. I read something about have to be standing/waiting outside the consulate untill you're called in? True?
6. Are they nice people? Or are they gonne make you have a hard time there?
7. Do you think my age (20) might be a problem, they might think I'm too young whatsoever??
8. What kind of proof except for emails, phonebills and photo's could I use?
9. I'm collecting money from the "UWV" disability based on psychology problems in the past. I've been in therapy and finished it. Now I'm only in therapy for structure in my life. Will they make a problem outa this?
10. I've read something about a police record? What exactly does this mean and do I have to get anything for this. (I never got involved with police and do not have a criminal record)
11. Is the interview in English or Dutch?
12. Do they ask any questions about our co-sponsor? (My fiance lost his job 2 months ago so a friend of ours will be our co-sponsor)
13. Do I need a birth certificate?
14. Any other suggestions of what to do, what to prepare?
15. We met on an online videogame, Will they find this strange?

Preparing for the medical

1. I got a list of vaccinations I got when I was a child from the "GGD" But I do not have a Hepatitis B vaccination (since they only give that to children that are born after 2003, Problem? Any others I might need and how much will this cost?
2. Weight and Length, why is this important?
3. What can I expect from the X-ray and such. I have no knowledge of any medical terms.
4. Any forms I need? Like a letter from my therapist that I'm done with my therapy?
5. Anything I else I might have missed which is important to know?

Thank you so much for the reply's ^^

Dan bedoel je gewoon het gemeentehuis neem ik aan?

You have to go to your town hall (Yes gemeentehuis) in the town/city you were born. You'll have to ask for a international birthcertificate. (Uitreksel uit het geboorteregister) I believe in my city it was 15 euro's.. And it was done in 5min ^^ Good luck

Well the reason why I had to go to the doctor is because there might be something wrong. I had bleedings and such (Not enough for it to be a miscarriage though), that's why we're having all these hospital bills. They're thinking it might be an ethopic pregnancy (Outside the uturus) so I haven't really got time to enjoy my pregnancy =\ Today I'll find out if the pregnancy is continueing or not. I guess not untill then I can enjoy it.

I've tried to find places that maybe able to help us out. Most are State Insurances, and those are not a go. Emergency Medicaid is there for Immigrants and even illegal aliens but that will only cover the delivery. Even without having to pay for the delivery we're still looking at a $2500 bill for all the visits...

It's not too fun, Especially since if it's a ethopic pregnancy, that is very dangerous for my uturus and my life. This should be a time that me and my husband should be enjoying our time together, but instead of that we're having all these problems coming towards us.
DeniseBillFemaleNetherlands2010-05-14 12:13:00
Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Any Dutch/American couples??
It's pretty much the fact that Bill and I just found out that I'm pregnant (We have been using birthcontrol) and the doctors bills that we got today just brought our AOS money down to $0 again. I have never paid a penny for healthcare (Except for the montly insurance payment of 50 euro's) and it is very frightening to know that there's pretty much nothing we can do. Bill got laid off on his job and he has not been succesfull finding a new one.

I guess the hormones, the fear and everything just makes it all a lot worse.

Thank you for all your info, I do know there are many places in Holland where a foreigner can work even without knowing the language. (Think about all the polish, muslims and such in our country who have a job without knowing any of the language)

I think I'll have to look more into it. Any of your dutch husbands or wives know if there's a way to get dutch insurance work here in the US?

Thanks so much

Heya guys,

Haven't talked in this topic for quite a while. Finally married and life keeping busy. I hope everyone is doing oke and is with their loved one...

I got a question maybe some of you can answer me... Is there any way for me to take my husband to Holland and live there instead of here? I'm fearing I made a big mistake moving to the US compared to what I had in Holland. I love my husband very much but this is taking so much out of me I don't know if I can deal with it any longer...

Thank you for any help.

I arrived on friday 20th and all went good untill we landed lol.

Had to go stand in the visitors line and I waited for 2 hours before it was my turn. After that it went pretty quick, the officer was very friendly and was done in like 5min. He said " Welcome to the States and sended me to the next person. When I walked towards her she said "you're K1" lol. I said yeah, and she said I was the 14th of that day. She stamped a few things, gave me the EAD stamp and I was good to go.

I saw these 2 guys holding both my suitcases so I ran up to them and was like, theyre mine, theyre mine!!! They asked me how my name is spelled lol becuz they never heard of it before. They were trying to prenounce it XD. after they gave me my suitcases I went through last security and the guy asked me for how long I was planning to stay. I said, forever,am on K1 visa. Oh he said, and he took my customs form.

Last year I was in a completely different terminal so Bill was waiting at the wrong one. Took about 30min before we found eachother. But when we saw eachother ..... It was amazing!!!

@ Wyld Blu, Madurodam in Scheveningen? It's really nice there, If Bill ever comes to Holland Ill bring him there.

Efteling is really nice, I actually went there a few months ago. <3 Fairytales.

@ Adje, check out our timelines, I got mine a few days later. But it might be stuck due to certain things. I see on your timeline you've been waiting for longer then 3 weeks. Time to email/call the consulate on what's causing the delay. ImmigrantVisasAms@state.gov. I sended an email to them once, I did that in English but they can speak proper Dutch, so don't be nervous ^^
