K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInsight into USICS Service Center
Patiently waiting....I tried the expedite route, that was a waste of time. My moms has a lot of medical conditions and that was one of the reasons to request expedited, however maybe because it was she and not I, that is why I was denied? Oh well, patiently waiting still, lol.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPossible tourist visa for fiance's mom..?
Her tita, (auntie), wants to come and she owns a business and a house, her mom owns her own house as well. They live in Manila and are not poor and do have strong ties to the area. Thanks though

Getting a tourist visa is really hard especially from the countries with the low social living level. You mother in-law will need to qualify on her own and show really strong ties back to the country, to prove that she will return. Mentioning that she is going for her daughter wedding will not help and can even make it worth.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPossible tourist visa for fiance's mom..?
Hey all, just wondering, once my fiance gets here is it possible to get her moms a tourist visa for our wedding? She is obviously Filipina...I know tourist visas for younger ladies are nearly impossible, but how about in this sitch?

Thanks in advance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAbout Lawyers
I think if you have some legal type things going on, perhaps a lawyer would help, but other than that....during that free initial consult he even admitted that he he has no 'in' at immigration, nor can he speed up the process. He said they are familiar with what forms need to be filed, and when and that is a plus, (according to him)..but the good folks on here can help with that anyways.

Not trying to throw flame on the fire guys, I would never do that, but its so odd how some people, like Diana and I, we were Sept 6 filers and we were approved on the 28th...it really is dumb how it makes no sense on how they do these, it should be first come first serve.

I pray you guys get yours asap..god bless and much love to you all.

Congratulations Ron & Diana on your NOA2...I remember when you first started....that doesn't seem like all that long ago. Glad you didn't hire that attorney and you used VJ. All the best to you and Diana this New Year. God bless you both and good luck with everything, xoxo.

Hey Ben, yes it has actually been pretty quick to the NOA2, so I can't complain really, lol, but any delay sorta sucks...but we will deal with it as we have the whole process, promptly and correctly, as best we can.

Yes, thanks to you guys we did not get a lawyer and I bet if we did we would still be waiting on the NOA2.

Yes She definitely will need that! Main thing is you started on it Already, so thats a good thing!

Yes but we can't start the request for the police background until we get the MNL case number...I called NVC today, but of course closed for New Years. Thanks though brother.
Ron and RheaMalePhilippines2012-01-02 14:44:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 last week...ok what's next?
What really sucks is Diana was a RN at a hospital in Egypt last year for over 6 months, so she has to get a police record clearance. She's gone the the Egyptian consulate to request such, but they need a letter from the US Embassy saying its needed by them for Visa processing, and the US Embassy in Manila won't issue the letter till they get the MNL case number, which is what we are waiting for now.

The main this is it will delay this process, and with all the turmoil in Cairo lord knows how long a request like this will take.

Ugh.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 last week...ok what's next?
Thank you so much Tahoma

To speed things up, here's what I'd do:

1) Start calling the NVC every day until they give you your MNL case number.

2) Read this.

NOA 2 doesnt have the case Number, you get that from NVC. when you call NVC you can ask first if they have your case and if they have your case, when will it leave for US Embassy Manila???

Gotcha...

That's good to know that the VSC working during the holidays. I thought they'd be inactive from Dec. 23rd to Jan. 3rd. :P

Haha, that's what I had thought too, but sure enough it was approved that date, and some others as well were according to the timeline.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 last week...ok what's next?

Ron the infamous NOA 2 is on its way.It contains your Approval notice and what date the petition is good from what date to what date.example(Jan 1st to may1st) for 4 months. it also contains your WAC number if from CSC or EAC number if from VSC. you have to wait for that to come. When i got my notice back in May, NVC was backlogged and it took them a month for NVC to receive my case and input my case into their System. Now, they back on track from what i hear, its much Quicker. once you get the NOA2 wait a few days then start calling NVC to see if they received it yet. the number is 603-334-0700. if after a couple of weeks they tell you they still doesnt have it they will ask you to scan it and Email it to them at"NVCInQuiry@State.Gov", but wait until they tell you to scan it and send it. once they input it in their System you will transition from the WAC or EAC number to your MNL Case number from that point on. you only go by that case number once it leave NVC. Buddy you on your way!! NOA2 is on the way!!!

Good info, thanks brother.

togetherforever: ok so the NOA2 doesn't have the case number...gotta call NVC for that. When I call for the case number can I not ask if its left for the embassy at the same time?

Thanks Mike, I will go back in and check out the guide, thanks..!!

Happy New Year you guys.

As its the holidays, our NOA2 was approved on 28th Dec, but have not received it in the mail, what does it contain? A copy of our docs have been sent to NVC then I take it? I know the NOA2 states what our next steps are, but as I don't have it in my grubby hands yet, what he heck is in it? Can we do anything in the mean time? As post office is closed on Monday, I hope it arrives on tues for sure.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPolice report when working out of country.
Thanks for replies guys...we have our NOA2 already...while we were waiting for the NOA2 she went to the Egyptian consulate and they said she can't request it until she gets a form that is in the immigration pkg she gets...she then went to the US Embassy and was told she has to wait for the package to get sent to her and the form is in there...I was frustrated on this run around.

Boxster, what happened to you guys?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPolice report when working out of country.
Seems a lot of us have received our NOA2 lately from VSC....we received ours on 28Dec, the snailmail copy came last week.

I've been calling NVC daily, on friday the person I was speaking with said they have received it and are putting it in computer now, and to call back early next week, (this week coming up), to see if its put in yet and to get the case number.

She also said that 129f's are a high priority and they try to put them in the system quickly. We are trying to get the case number asap as my fiance has to forward a background check to Cairo as she worked out of her country for 7 months.

So that will slow our process down by a few weeks I guess...I hope not too much longer, does anyone have and experience with these police reports, or does it all have to do with what country its sent to?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPLZ help to figure this out...!
Ok, will do, thanks.

... make sure that the MNL number is stated in the letter from the US embassy Manila... this would minimize, if not prevent, delays....

good luck...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPLZ help to figure this out...!
Yes Wally, thanks. She went to the Consulate for Egypt and they told her she would have to bring a form from the US Embassy requesting police report and then they would forward it to Cairo, where it has to go through that process.

That is why we were so hoping since NVC didn't need it then the US Embassy in Manila wouldn't need a police report but as per the link you attached she does...we wished she could pick it up at the Egyptian consulate in Manila.

Oh well, it is what it is.
Ron and RheaMalePhilippines2012-01-09 11:26:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPLZ help to figure this out...!
Seems redundant the US Embassy needs a police report from Cairo, but she did a NBI already and Homeland Security did a back ground check on her...seems anything she did illegal would have shown up already, ugh, delays.

On the state dept site is states this on the bottom half of the website:

"......An applicant abroad must apply to the nearest Egyptian consular officer who will fingerprint them and forward their applications to the Ministry of Interior, Cairo. Upon completion, the report is sent to the applicant. The latter procedure usually involves considerable delay. Since the certificates are eventually issued, they must be considered available".

Keyword being, SIGNIFICANT delay....sucks.
Ron and RheaMalePhilippines2012-01-09 11:04:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPLZ help to figure this out...!
Dang, well 'G' shows the Embassy in Manila requires it....jeez...thanks for the info Wally

NVC Does Not Need a Police Clearance from the petitioner nor the Beneficiary. When you (Petitioner) filed your 1-129F. Homeland Security did the full background check on you the petitioner.

The Beneficiary will need to present the police clearance at USEM in Manila when submitting there package.

K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions

At this point you have your MNL case number. Start preparing your beneficiary for Medical at St. Lukes, Preparing package for your Beneficiary. You will need to now confirm with NVC when you case was sent to Manila Embassy. Then confirm with USEM Manila if they have received your case.

Anyone here having dealt with the US Embassy in Manila under this sitch? Did they required a police report for working abroad under one year, or did you do it just to be safe? As the pkg is being sent to the US Embassy as we speak we are trying to avoid a long delay for police report from Cairo, lord knows how long that will take with the problems going on over there.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPLZ help to figure this out...!
Yes that seems to be the best step....there is conflicting info on the topic. Well NVC seems to be very clear on it.
Ron and RheaMalePhilippines2012-01-09 09:53:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPLZ help to figure this out...!
We are trying to get a clear answer on this topic....again...Police reports.

I called NVC and we do have our MNL case number now. I was speaking to someone who appeared to know what they were talking about, so I asked about police reports, as my fiance worked as a RN in Cairo for 7 months last year.

I read on here that if you were overseas from your domicile for more than 6 months a police report is required.

The person at NVC said no, it is not required by NVC. They said if she had been there for more than one year. So I tell my fiance and she quotes something from here again on 6 months.

So I called back, spoke with someone else at NVC and she said, No a police report isn't required by NVC if she was there for less than one year. She said if a police report was needed by NVC then one should've been submitted already then, right? She said perhaps the US Embassy in Manila may require one, and she should ask them to make sure, but NVC doesn't need such.

She gave me the link:

http://travel.state....195.html#police

An applicant must obtain a police certificate from the local police authority:

IF you…

AND…

have been living in your country of nationality at their current residence for more than 6 months

you are 16 years old or older

lived in a different part of your country of nationality for more than 6 months

you were 16 years or older at that time

lived in a different country for more than 12 months

you were 16 years or older at that time

were arrested for any reason

you were any age at the time of the arrest

It does show 1 year on NVC....She also said it gets confusing as the second line says 6 months, but that is if you lived in a different part of YOUR OWN country for more than 6 months......

We can't call embassy till tomorrow to see if they require it.....

Can anyone help clear this up, short of seeing a lawyer, lol.
