I believe the UK is also really slow, but they are friendlier about it... from the posting here china does it just to be mean...

The UK is slow for scheduling the interview? crying.gif

I have never been so happy that the holidays are finally over.

I know how you feel, this year it delayed so many things for me, obviously the main thing being the NOA2. I couldn't wait for Christmas and New year to get out of the way so people at the USCIS could resume regular work shifts mad.gif

but in a year when I'm (hopefully) living and working there, I'll be saying the opposite. Ironic whistling.gif

I have seen NO activity from VSC at all... It's so discouraging. I thought they were only off for 2 days over Christmas?? I can appreciate that USCIS workers need to spend time with their families over christmas but no touches/approvals before then, too, just seems so ridiculous. California are still churning out touches and approvals D: I'm happy for CSC filers but still so jealous unsure.gif

Also, we have almost the same NOA1 date star_smile.gif

Why don't you just share the same user name and password? That's what I do.

How does that work? Can you specify for the USCIS account to send updates to different more than one email address? Or do you mean the username and password to the same email account?

I know just how you feel. My bf and I were together in the USA for 3 months, I got back to the UK 5 days ago. I have periods of 'okay-ness' and suddenly I'll have a panic attack purely because my routine feels so out of place, I hate being here and I miss him so much. I'm also working from my PC right now, so I don't have anywhere to go (I live in a bad area too, I don't exactly want to go outside.. all I can do is sit here and think) The worst thing is being stuck with no definate answer of when the NOA2 will be issued and it's so difficult not to think about it sad.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSwitching to part time work during K1 process
I'm currently in the US on a 90-day tourist's visa, visiting my boyfriend. He's been working hard full-time since we filed our K1 packet, however the work is very difficult on him and he wants to switch to part time while I'm here so that we can spend an extra day together during the week. Both of us are very minimalistic, could get by on part-time pay and have a sponsor ready (his mother, who is a Lab technician) But we're both wary that pay-check stubs of a lesser amount might make my K1 interview/the process in general more difficult. He already has a lot of full-time pay stubs saved.

Has anybody successfully filed a K1 visa on a part time job? We really don't want to endanger anything with our case, and as insignficant as it may sound, the extra day together would really benefit both of us, as life situations are being very difficult at the moment.

Thank you for all replies, in advance. star_smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA couple of questions
I'm a UK citizen applying for a K1 visa, and my London embassy interview, if all goes smoothly.. is due around February. I want to be able to go back to the US to be with my boyfriend as soon as possible after being granted my fiancee visa.. and was wondering if I could do anything right now to help speed this along at all? The things I'm worried about are below:

Someone mentioned that I need a police/background check done, and that it takes months... is this necessary, and if so, how long should it take? Also, how would I go about doing this?
When I leave the UK, is there anybody I need to inform.. or any forms I need to fill in/etc?
Since I'm having such a miserable time by myself in the UK, it would be really bad if I found out I had to wait longer than need be. sad.gif

Thank you in advance for all replies, they are greatly appreciated. star_smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNo touches or updates since NOA1
We filed in early August and recieved our NOA1 on the 14th August. Everybody else in our filing timeframe seems to have updates, RFEs, or 'touches'. We've had nothing. After 138 days, is this cause to be concerned? I know my estimated NOA2 date is a few weeks away, but it seems so weird that so many other people have at least one touch by now, when we've had nothing. I'm scared they've misplaced our file or something. unsure.gif
Is it normal to have no 'touches' for the entire wait?

What I have been told about Igor's list and was true for me is that when you are less than 100 you can be approved at any time. I don't know if that varies from VSC to CSC. I did a K-3, there are not as many people on Visa Journey doing that so there is less data so I actually always looked at where I would be on the K-1 list and one day I looked and was 90 and the next day without any touches I was approved. So hopefully that helps.

Take care.

What am I not understanding about Igor's List? Can someone help me? Where is the link and should I see my name there or something? What am I looking for? Sorry blush.gif and thanks good.gif

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between February 23, 2009 and March 15, 2009*.

Taken from your timeline. I expect you have to wait a little while longer yet, but some people do get lucky and get approved early. Hang in there good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOur sponsor opted out
Since my boyfriend's income is a few thousand below the poverty line, we thought it'd be safest to have a sponsor.. Our original sponsor pulled out of the agreement today after promising they would do it for us. An American friend offered to step in and help us, becoming our sponsor.. but their income is also slightly below the 125% of the poverty line.

So I guess my questions are:

a) Can a sponsor be unrelated to the petition Applicant?
b ) Would they also stamp the support from 'new sponsor' as below the poverty line, (denying me at my interview?) or add it on to my boyfriend's income?

Any replies (and personal experiences regarding sponsors/not meeting the 125% poverty guideline) massively appreciated. star_smile.gif

4. For adjustment of status, the sponsor must meet a minimum of 125% of the poverty level for the applicable household size. Generally, the immigrant isn't working at the time the I-864 is submitted but if they have income or assets to contribute to the picture, they can be considered.

Is the 125% for both the interview/K1 stage and the AOS stage? I got a little confused there.

What passes muster for the visa interview varies widely by Consulate. London is one of the easiest and commonly 100% is accepted. For AOS it's 125%.

That's a massive relief. (Not to say I'll rely on the 100% figure - better safe than sorry)
Thanks smile.gif

your best bet is to make the 125% JUST in case if you have to take on a small part time job like i did after all you will need to make that after you are married anyway. Try not to make the MINIMUM requirement because even if it says 125% is 17, 500 making a lil more is better
PS pushbark is correct:)

We seem to be just over the 125% now so hopefully we're safe smile.gif
