IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow To Have A Strong Marriage

vj members hello! i just want to share what i have read earlier...

During courtship and the newlywed period, a couple will often feel like their marriage will never have any problems. They assume that they will always be as passionate as they are then; that they will have a strong marriage forever. However, as many married couples discover, having a strong marriage does take work. There are certain signs that are common among couples that have a strong marriage.

Communication is one of the most important ways to have a strong marriage. This is true in all of the areas of married life. A strong marriage is one in which the couple can communicate about every issue, including children, work, household management, and sex. Couples need to be able to discuss how they are feeling, both in terms of how they feel about one another but also in terms of how they are feeling about other things in life. This does not mean that the husband and wife always agree on every issue; but it does mean that each is willing to listen to the other, and to discuss their points of view.

A strong marriage is one in which the married couple spends time together. With the hectic schedule of the modern world, couples have to make time to just be alone together. This can be anything from the weekly scheduled date night to an hour or so spent together in the evening after the kids are in bed. On a regular basis, the couple in a strong marriage will do something together that they enjoy.

There are a variety of other general characteristics of a strong marriage. In a strong marriage, husband and wife are careful to avoid temptations of infidelity. In a strong marriage, couples respect one another. In a strong marriage, people are willing to admit they are wrong. People forgive one another in a strong marriage. In a strong marriage, the partners have respect for one another’s boundaries and privacy. In a strong marriage, couples are loving, avoid unnecessary criticism, and are generally polite to one another. In a strong marriage, the couple recognized that they are a team, and organize their lives as such.

QUOTE (belinda63 @ Aug 2 2008, 12:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
well, from personal experience and from what I have read here, unless ur case has problems, issues, or something very strange you don't need an attorney at all. I did it myself and although ap took forever (which an attorney could not help with) we got through with flying colors, no RFE, no problems at the interview, no returned papers.

Already your attorney has costs you a lot of time in a process that is all about taking a lot of time. And you state you do not want to bother them, what do you think you paid them for? If they can't file things properly what good are they doing you.

My advice, unless there are unusual circumstances, boot the attorney and go it alone. There is enough information here to get you through the process on your own.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRelationship evidence question
QUOTE (roi_aggie @ Aug 13 2008, 11:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
In the first step, which is proving you have met within the last two years, and explaining the circumstances under which you met, items like boarding passes, itineraries, and passport stamps are your primary evidence that you met. Secondary evidence is photos. Evidence of a bona fide relationship, such as e-mails, letters, follow on meetings/trips, are necessary for the interview at the consulate. You don't need all e-mails, but samples, showing the period over which you have been corresponding. One or two near the beginning, some in the middle, and some of your more recent.

You're right that you don't want to overload the CIS adjudicator or the CO at the consulate, but you need to feel confident that you have provided enough.

it is suggested you make a copy of the entire packet (inc forms) for your own records and 'just in case' and also to send to your fiance for reference at interview time.

I'll confine my response to the immigration related issues. If you are the father of this newborn, the child doesn't need a K2 visa, but rather a US passport. You file a Consular Report of Birth abroad, so the child is a US Citizen.

the child now had dual citizen. FILIPINO-AMERICAN.

Hi everyone~

I am so excited to have recd our NOA2. kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif We are still awaiting our hardcopy in the mail, however I was wondering, how long does it usually take till NVC recvs this notice and enables me to recv my case number via phone. Is it better to just speak with an operator? I am not sure how accurate it is.

it depends of the number of the applicant. as of now according to some VJ members NVC was full of applications.
via phone is accurate. the others check their case number online. check the NVC website so that you can gather more informations.

Sorry guys...last question: blush.gif Does anyone know of the medical exam fee paid at St Lukes in Manila includes all the vaccination requirements.

yes. so, better get all the available vaccines in st. lukes because it is quite expensive in the US f u decide to take the other vaccines here.

Ok, First I want to thank everyone who participates in helping on this site. I have learned so much here, but still have a few questions before i send all this packaet off to USCIS. Please Help.

1. How many copies of everything do i make? I keep originals of all, even my birth certificate, correct? If i'm sending in one set of copies to USCIS, then should I have 1 or 2 remaining sets of copies in my hand after sending to USCIS ?
2 sets is enough. one set for USCIS and the other set for your fiancee in manila and the originals for yourself...

2. Where will these remaining sets of copies end up going?it will end up for the three parties. YOU, USCIS, YOUR FIANCEE, that's it. always keep original copies especially the NOTICE OF ACTIONS for your future use. WIll 1 set go with my fiancee to Manila? Us Visa center, Where?

I believe I have everything else ready to go. I have both G325A forms, Passport pics, birth certificate copy, cover lletter, letter explaining how we

met, I-129F form, pics of us together, receipts for engagement ring, hotel, passport stamps showing travel, plane itinerary, credit card receipts, police

reports on myself, letters of intent to marry from both of us, phone records, letters, calling card receipts, etc. I think I have all I need. Anyone think

of something I missed? Thanks! Just needed to know on how many sets of copies i should have AFTER sending one set to USCIS. If I am

understanding everything correctly, USCIS will contact me if they need to see originals, correct? Send this all via United States Post Office certified

with return receipt to California address since I live in Montana? Thanks for any input.

How many others are waiting, and how long have you been waiting?
