Does anyone know where I can get my documents translated?

I found something in a forum once that had some certified sites, but I believe all you need to do is have someone translate it, sign that they are fluent in Japanese and English. That is what I did, however, the did say they needed a translation although one had been provided, so I resent it and translated on a scanned copy of the original document. Since then, no response. Additionally, I think Tokyo Embassy website has a translation form for some standard documents, but you need to dig through the web-site to find it.

thanks for your reply.
Yeah, I was confused if i had to get it done professionally or if I could just have someone whose fluent in both to translate it for me.
Thank you again.

They really are not clear, but my understanding is no and I did find some forms they already had for some common items that needed translation. Good luck. I hope you get your interview soon.

Thanks.
I didn't even get packet 3 yet.
Ah, hurry up!

I havent been around much, so I thought I would finally work up the nerve to try to read through all I missed and see how everyone was doing. Turns out I didnt miss many posts, but I would like to hear how everyone is doing.

Karri - Do you have an update? Should have been this week right?
Tahoma - Did you get the visa?
Adiiann - Hang in there. I may be the only person with a longer outlook than you.
Benika - Did you get the police reports and interviewed scheduled yet?
Bigticket77 - How did the interview go?
Akiko - Are you still waiting for NOA2? (I am still waiting on Tokyo - since early January)
UScanDual - did you ever get out of AP?
darwinsfinch - how did the interview go?
Sweettiebaby - are you in the US yet? Congrats to you!
probablyamerican - Goodluck! soon, real soon.
dogspot - Congratulations.

For me, I am still waiting for an interview in Tokyo for Grace. It appears I am going to have to request to move the case to Manila because our baby will be born in June, so time is running out for travel. I expect that to further delay things for the transfer and then more of a delay if our baby is born there - then I need to get the baby a passport. I may have to cancel depending on timing, maybe just get married and start over.

I have been stuck in AP in Tokyo almost as long as it took to get NOA2 from USCIS - remember all that waiting (sorry Akiko, maybe ur still waiting)? This is torture.

The good news is, I have been so depressed and negative about it, I no longer have high expectations, but I am somehow OK with that. I know someday, somehow, we will be together. Even if it takes another year or two.

I am also starting to cheer up because I leave for Japan next Friday to see her. If I cant get the interview in the 2 weeks while I am there, I will help her move to the Philippines and spend another week with her. So at least I will get 3 weeks with her soon.

yes I'm still waiting on my NOA2. I don't know whats taking so long. Its almost been 7 months.
My fiancee called USCIS but didn't seem to help us at all.
Its taking forever.
I just want to be with him already...
Good luck to you as well!

Akiko,
Once you get your NOA2, I hope your interview goes faster than ours. We got NOA2 in Dec, Tokyo Embassy received in January and we are still waiting for them to approve us to interview.

Thanks.
I heard Tokyo Embassy takes a long time. But I didn't know it took that long.

Congratulations to everyone that did!

You will, you will, you will..... hopefully as soon as tomorrow!!
Your timeline is almost identical to ours: you are
I-129F Sent : 2008-09-06
I-129F NOA1 : 2008-09-11

Our dates were 09-05 (sent) and 09-10 (NOA1). We got approved today, stands to reason you're in the next batch to go.
Hang in there.... yesterday I felt the same anxiety and desperation you must be feeling now... it all lifts in an instant when you get that wonderful email from CRIS telling you it's approved kicking.gif

Hang in there!

Thank you for the encouragement! I really hope we get approved soon!
And congratulations! Good luck from here on good.gif

So, besides the fact that they signed for receiving the RFE on April 3rd and they say in an e-mail they received it April 15th, I am quite happy. good.gif

Question: what next? How do I keep track of things with NVC ? (Gee, I thought I would never get to ask this!)

sorry, dont know your story, have u contacted ur congressman? they got right back to me and soon after we got approved...not sure if they had anything to do with it...but cant hurt.

Hi Akiko,

So sorry to see that you are still waiting for NOA2. I remember comparing notes with you, since we started our time lines at identical times: You sent your I-129F on Sep 6 and was received at CSC on Sep 11. We sent ours (also to CSC) on Sep 5, received on Sep 10. If they told you that they are processing files "in order", well that CLEARLY is untrue, and so unfair to think that people well into 2009 are getting approved while you are waiting (that goes for all the 6+ month-ers here, of course!)

You will get approved. And your case will move forward. Don't lose heart!

Thank you so much for the encouragement and support!
We just got ours approved on the 16th and my fiance received the NOA2 on the 20th.
I just things speed up from here on, although they take forever for everything...
Best wishes for you from here on.

Ok...service request: After your case is past standard processing times (California was 6months not sure about Vermont) you call USCIS customer service who will then tell you that you have to wait another 30days before you can call back & enquire.
Then, after this 30 days is up, you call back & they will put in a "service request". Basically, they will look into your case & write to you within 45 days (ours took a week or so) with an update. With ours, they told us we were in 'additional background checks'.

Don't worry, most people don't have to wait as long as we did. Good Luck good.gif

Yes definitely, although they wont do anything until you've waited 7 months. Then ask them for a service request as they might not volunteer that it's available to you.
I hope your NA02 comes before that though. Good Luck. star_smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsGetting married on April 11th in Indonesia, will we have time for her to return with me?
If your fiancee insists that she still wants to have a grand wedding ceremony in cathedral in Jakarta, then you have to abandon your K1 application and then you have to endure some months of separation while filing for CR1 visa.

But if you still want to pursue the K1 visa which is already approved and just a half way to go before the interview, explain to your fiancee to not expect to get married in Indonesia instead in the US.

Listen to the other members's advices, your fiancee can not enter the US with K1 visa if you get married in Indonesia.

Good Luck!

PhilippinesWhere's your hometown?

Hello Everyone!! I am just new here. and I found this site very helpful..
I am a CEBUANA, from Lapu-Lapu City Cebu.
My Fiance is from Hawaii.

We are still getting started on our journey.
We just met for the first time in person, last feb 26 to march 6, his been here for only 10 days because of work.
But even though our time together is so short. its not a hindrance for us to fall deeply inlove with each other. He met my family first in Cebu, then we went to Boracay, He proposed to me there, We went back in Cebu and got engaged there with my family. and now we are getting started for the fiancee visa..
I already send him my papers, so probably we will get ready and send our form I-129F on the 16th of April.

But we are a little confused about the filing fee.. I saw a news about changes in the visa fees effective this April 13..
So we need a little help about this..

Hope anyone here could help us..

Thank YOU So Much!!

May God Bless Us Always.. :-)

Luzie ???

Where in Hawaii? I live on Oahu near Waikiki, Marife lives in Pangasinan, Sta. Maria. Her and I just received our NOA2 yesterday so we are in the home stretch

It is pretty normal. Hopefully you will get an NOA1 within a month but we sent our petition on 23rd April and didn't hear anything else until the NOA2 on 27th August. If you sent a personal cheque with your application you can check with the bank to see when it is cashed and get your case number (beginning WAC) from the back of it.

Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) Current Status: Approval notice sent. On December 13, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

I have updated my timeline and am thanking God right now. I am hoping that everyone else who is waiting will get their NOA 2 quickly. Ours took 140 days from when I sent it.

Good luck everyone. Thank you for all of your help and advice!

OK, thanks for everyone's feedback!

With luck my fiance will have her paperwork to me in the next few days so I can file our I-129F next week!!! I'm hoping that the embassy in Singapore is not so busy with visas...crossing fingers.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNotarized documentation...?
In a few places (including some help sections on visajourney.com) I have seen reference to the requirement for documents to be notarized. I have read the I-129F instructions multiple times and I don't see a reference there requiring notarization of any documents. Can someone clarify or share your experiences? For the initial I-129F petition is it necessary to have ANY of the documents being submitted notarized? Thanks!
hdkimoMaleSingapore2009-07-21 00:09:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFinally sent I-129F
I like your list! It is a nice checklist to work from. I do have a concern though...I'm getting ready to send off my I-129F next week and I did not realize that I needed to submit a "Beneficiary Certificate of Single". Unless I'm missing something I don't see this requirement in the I-129F instructions. I only see a reference to me, the applicant, having to supply proof AND only if I had been married before (which I was, and am submitting a copy of my divorce decree). My fiance has never been married and therefore will have no proof to show of divorce, annulment, or otherwise.

So, the Certificate of Single is certainly a good idea and perhaps a smart thing to include in the I-129F packet, but is it actually required???

Best of luck with your application!!!

Why is everyone shooting him down? None of us is happy with the way this process is handled and that VSC is so far behind CSC. If he wants to try to organize a letter-writing campaign, why discourage him? Are we so beaten down by "the man" that we believe that this process is actually satisfactory? In this day and age and with the technology available to us, NOTHING should take as long as this does.

Here, Here. We are but cattle moving ever slowly to the mans slaughterhouse....We must have lost our spirit somewhere between England, Soviet Union and the Middle East.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports6 months for application to be accepte
I think the USCIS had a flood of applications the end of July 2007 to avoid the increased filing fees that took place beginning August 2007. My I-129F got to USCIS and took from August 2, 2007 until January 11, 2008 to get approved (electronic notification) and I still don't have the paper in hand, so 6 months sounds about what it is going to take for me.

I called the USCIS to ask why it was taking so long to get the approval paper (hardcopy), since the email said that the approval had been mailed about two weeks ago. They said that they are allowed 30 days to deliver the approval. Since it only takes 3-4 days to mail something, it seems the USCIS did not actually mail anything yet, despite what the email said. They are just slowing things down a little more I suspect.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDecember filers....
Got touched today and so excited especially for all the december filers. First step coming to end, yeah for all!

?? - I figure approval coming soon and our package will be in Manila by 1 April or so. I have my affidavit for support ready and just need to get it notarized. I am going to PI in 10 days for vacation and I wanted to bring all paperwork with me so she ready.

Do you think it be too early to have it notorized and brought to her before package ever sent from embassy to her??

Thanks and I appreciate this forum so much.
