Many non-immigrant visas such as tourist, student etc. when up $10-20 while K-1s have come down. I just checked the Philippine prices and it appears that they dropped $100+ (I seem to remember they were $350 and now they are $240. You see, my guy is a background actor, and has done so for many a year. Today, The Tooth Fairy came out, and John has a part in it! We weren't sure how "much" of his part would make it into the movie or if it would make it to the cutting room floor. I took my middle daughter and her friend to see the movie tonight and let me tell you guys ... the squealing that came from the three of us when we saw John on the screen AND saying his lines, that he ad libed entirely (no script!), was astronomical! My fiance hung up with me at 8:41 p.m. I turned on my cell phone to pick up my email messages just in case there was an update. I tried to call him back but he took the phone off the hook so he could sleep, I think, since it drops me into his voice mail right away. He will get some surprised messages tomorrow morning before he calls me back. THERE WAS! AT 8:15 p.m. my notice of approval of my I-129F was sent out. That was about 5 hours after the "touch" I had. I am so excited but man am I tired. Shoveling wasn't too bad but it at least kept me from bouncing off the walls at home. I could not wait to jump on my email, sure enough there was also an email message that said: We have approved your petition! NOA2 !! I'm so excited! I most definitely did not expect it so soon. I was expecting around February some time to get this. The confusing part was when I checked online, my status went straight to Post decision activities. I thought that it would go through the previous few steps first. I guess that "interview" does not refer to the interview at the consulate as the status jumped through it. Anyway just wanted to share this news. For those who filed in October, yours is probably coming soon! Good luck! Bill Congrats!! On October 28, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283. So i will go out on a limb and say to the rest of the Julyers this is our week! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	July 2009 Filers	OK Folks - I promised an update. Recall I sent an e-mail to the DHS person a friend of mine sort of knows. Below is the edited text of the e-mail I sent. My name is William Rogers and I am an employee of U.S. Civil Service. I was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me regarding my 129F Petition submittal. My understanding is that the USCIS reviews and addresses these types of petitions on a case by case basis and in the order they are received. BACKGROUND: 1. I submitted a completed 129F petition w/check on 18 July 2009 to the California Service Center. 2. My NOA1 date is July 22, 2009 and review time is still within the 5 month goal. 3. My Receipt Number is XXXXXXXXXXXXXX 4. I prepared my submission in accordance with the preference outlined in the Instructions for 129F Petition for Fiancée printed by your organization. 5. To date I have NOT received a request for Further Evidence (RFE). 6. To date I have not noticed that my 129F has been touched by your agency other than acknowledging receipt and cashing check. I gather this from the USCIS website "Case Status" Section. CONCERN: 1. I track peoples K-1 visa process on various websites. I have since confirmed that the CSC has APPROVED petitions (non-expedited requested and non-military) that have NOA1 dates beyond mine. Clearly this is not the order in which they are received. Can you explain this to me? I am concerned mine is lost! 2. If during this process we are still in the background check stage (and if I understand correctly this is a background check for me at this time) for national security - this should be easy... I work for the Department of Defense and do not present a national security threat. Same for my fiancée - She worked on a U.S. Army post in Korea and she too had to get checked out. I understand that DHS Immigration and DoD are separate agencies but I think we are "checked out (for lack of better terminology)" Perhaps by the time you receive this I will have my NOA2 - but if not is there anything I can do to speed this up? Can you tell me why others with later NOA1 dates have been processed? I would also like to have the name and contact information of a U.S. Government Employee, not a contractor, that can assist me in my query. I respect the Mission and Core values of the USCIS. I too have to operate under similar principals with a strong emphasis on customer service as I serve the members of the armed forces. Please respond concisely to my questions - look into this as I am concerned my 129F is missing or please tell me if I can clarify any concern. I e-mail him from my Government e-mail address and recite thier mission statement as well as the piece in the charter that talks about in order and case by case. I ask him why then are 129F petitions that are non expedited and non military getting to the NOA2 before petitions that have earlier NOA1 dates. These approved 129F's are clearly not first in line! I told him i was concerned that mine was lost. I'm curious if I get a response and if i do what sort of response. OR maybe they'll call CSC and say ####### is going on! Anyway still withing the 5 months but still - the way they are processing goes against what they state... Have a great weekend..I'm off to the beach for the entire weekend to forget this stuff! Like you I'm worried about the stupid things from the past as well. (Or is this just you making fun of me??) There was an incident that involved three cops from three different cities showing up to arrest me for smoking. That's what happens sometimes when you get pulled over in my small town. That's a fun story , but one I hope doesn't matter to the gubberment since I was underage. I have already gotten NOA2, but have now been told my file is being held for an undefined amount of time at NVC. This is the part where criminal issues might come up according to what I've seen on VJ. If you haven't already, refer to the threads where people with felonies and other issues are able to petition for and get their fiance(e)s here. It happens, it just sometimes takes longer. Many of you folks make the time bearable for me as i see all of the happiness and frustrations and all share in one way or the other. Me...I usually add a bit here and there. I'm not much for word until sitting on the sideline gets cold. Ok...............I finally made it...........to the precipice where sanity and insanity meet. The place where 1+1 = 0, clocks tick backwards and fruit flies are the dominant specie on this planet. 50% of us July CSCers have made it to the long awaited infamous NOA2. NOA1 dates need not apply. Some Late Julyiers = beginning of October and the Some early Juliers nothing to date. So leaving C*** size out of the equation (see earlier angry post from our friends!) where does that leave me....A male w/out the friendship and comfort of my love for over a year....hmmmmm I did sneak a few trips to see her this past year. I am beginning to wonder if an earlier event I had has caused some delay EVEN though i understand I am in the last thrid of the 5 month period. Last Christmas I was invited (as usual) to my friends parents for Christmas. However a family known as the Obamas were vactioning next door to my friends parents. So 2 weeks before they submitted a list of the names of family and friends who visit frequently. This was so we would all get Secret Service security checks to see if we present a national security threat. So know my mind wonders if for some reason that set up a red flag to the immi's!!! Seeing that the SS did a background check on me..hmmmm. Or could i be i was arrested 15 years ago for not returning a video tape movie to the mom and pop rental place! They brought me to small claims court and gave the court the srong address for me so when they sent me a summons and I didnt get it or go there was a bench warrant out for my arrest! hmmmmmmm I think the minds of the 50% left may be wandering such as mine? Yeah maybe they never updated once they got the NOA2 but some of them are just lingering in the abyss of beaucracy! I wrote this half in jest and half in somewhat concern.... We are experiencing BS paperwork issues with the Philippine paperwork machine (government agencies). Like she only had one original of her divorce and she gave that to the court. The court in turn provided a court order and approval of her divorce yet the NSO doesnt care....THEY TOO want an original. I told them the court has it get if from them as they wont give it to magie and oh by the way how do you folks at the NSO think she got an approved divorce from the PI courts!
