Not a problem. Japanese paper is slightly different from the U.S. and the USCIS should know that.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRelationship evidence at POE
QUOTE (Leo&Farah @ Oct 31 2009, 01:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Do we need to bring any relationship evidence like we presented at the interview to POE or is the sealed envelope enough?

I am trying to bring as little weight as possible and my relationship evidence weighs roughly 10 lbs.

Thanks!

Well, they did not ask me anything apart from the sealed envelope at the POE

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNVC & DOS Notifications
We just received our NOA2  and I have the same questions...will information (numbers to NVC etc) be on the actual letter? Are we notified as the package makes it way through the process or do we have to call and track it ourselves?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDiscrepancy in Police Clearance and Petition Documents
It's my understanding that as long as the police clearance is for the last time there it will satisfy the requirement (if there was a warrant out it would still show up). I could be wrong though.

Welcome to the family, hopefully the only reason for denial was the lack of evidence and you just need to refile.

Man, what a mess. Soooo close, too.

Can someone tell me if I-134 is supposed to be notarized and does it get turned in along with the police report and medical at the day of interview....or does it have to be sent in with packet 3?

I know I should be reading the instructions...and i will, but this flare-up with the (already paid in full) visa agent, has caused some static between my wife and I now as well...I need this info fast to calm her and prove my point...this guy does not know what he's doing and we are sure to be refused if we continue with this bonehead.

More than likely he is reading this...which is good,...maybe he'll accidently learn how to process a visa.

Please help

I actually read this entire thread. :)

I recall seeing, more than once, the name of an attorney in BKK specialing in this process. He came highly reccomended but I do not recall the name.

PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME READ THIS THREAD AGAIN!!

I seem to have had a bit of a falling out with the *&^*& we hired to do our visa. All that is left is filling out packet 3 (etc). I am in Hawaii and cannot (immediately) go back to the Kingdom. Does anyone know the name of the attorney so highly reccomended...or a legit visa agency that can help my wife (in Thailand) thru these last steps?

As always, I appreciate your time and input.

I would be very grateful if someone could teach me the DHL tracking trick.

n2ojones,
For DHL tracking try using the word correspondence in the reference line. This will probably not be your files but will give you an idea how long it typically takes. That is assuming the NVC sends everything DHL International Express.

best of luck

Right on. Thank you for this information, Chant & Noy! I will have to give this a shot later as I am running like a madman today....

Cha cha cha!

Called the NVC this morning (automated message) and got our case number! The message informed me that our case was forwarded to BKK on March 26th! Not bad...the NVC reviewed our docs (1-130) in just under 30 days!

I would be very grateful if someone could teach me the DHL tracking trick.

This is the best I have felt since leaving the Kingdom (and my wife) two weeks ago! Look out NW lounge at Narita, here I come! ;)

n2ojones,
i ran across the following while reading this thread today. i'm almost finished with the entire thing. good luck. also, i live in austin.

to: www.dhl.com

Select: Track by Reference
Type in Reference: (Depends on Embassy) Use any of the following three keywords:
I-730
EXPEDITE NIV SECTION (Maybe Non-Immigrant Visas)
EXPEDITE IV SECTION (Maybe Immigrant Visas)

Put the range of dates around the date that NVC gives you as package has been shipped.
Look for any of the packages sent to BNK. There is no gaurantee that it will acutally be your package, but if you see a package sent on the date they told you, then it could possilby be yours.

On the date they said they sent mine, I got two "hits". One for the EXPEDITE NIV and one for the EXPEDITE IV, so I assumed one of them was mine!

Thanks so much, Dvddvd! Sorry it took me so long to reply...man, so much going on, there's just not enough hours in the day!

I loved Austin. Went to Willy Nelson's 4th of July picnic there MANY years ago. (I went to school at Houston) What was the place?...pale face park?

Thanks again!

I've looked everywhere for that shower and thought it no longer existed! Can you give me an idea of it's location?

I typically fly JAL because of their affiliation with AA, maybe the shower is in a different area/terminal?

....I did find a bed (in the JAL lounge) last trip. You could use it for 3 hours. Problem was...I found it in the 4th hour of my 5 hour layover.

i believe the shower is in teminal 2, but i'm not sure. sorry. it's in the terminal that united uses. that day shower/internet room is at the very end of the shops as you are heading towards the gates. it will be on the left. it kind of sits behind a section of bathrooms (i think) that sits in the middle of the way. does that make sense?

i've spent numerous months on maui and absolutely love it there. are you on maui? i sure do miss hawaii's weather!!

dvd

Hey dvd,

I do quite a bit of work on Maui...mostly Kaanapali side. I have been trying to move there for close to 20 years but something always happens here (like hurricanes) and I end up staying on Kauai.

I've been here since '83 but spend a good share of my weekdays in Honolulu. Best of both worlds really and yes, it's definately the weather keeping me here!

Thanks for the tip on the shower!

Where are you in Texas? My kids live in Dallas. :(

n2ojones,

Next time, keep your eye on the Northwest World Club lounge and walk in when the desk staff are busy, or behind a crowd of others, and head left or right rather than to the desk.

Yodrak

The biggest obstacle you will encounter at the Tokyo airport is boredom. Jing Jing. I don't know that I have ever been stuck at a more boring airport. Your significant other will have no problem with officials. As posted above, you are strictly in transit.

Besides, if you look out the windows, you'll see there's no where to go anyway. Pardon me if I sound jaded, I've been there 4 times in the past few months and another 2 more times (hopefully) very soon.

Haha.....good stuff!

I'll go for it and let you know whether I was successful or not. In fact, maybe that will be my new thrill whereever I go...sneaking into the competition's lounge(s). Actually/hopefully there will only be one more solo trip thru Narita. ;) Thanks for the tip, Yodrak!

Hi.....

I am new but have been reading this forum all weekend. I am quite grateful for it's existence as many questions have been answered. I do have a few more if you would be so kind....it would be much appreciated. I will give some history:

My (Thai) wife and I were (leagally) married in Thaland last December. We knew each other only 1 month..but that was all we needed. Jing Jing.

We filed both the 129 and the 130 thru a visa agency in Thailand.

We spent two months together during that visit.

I then returned home for 7 weeks before going back to my wife in Thailand for another month. (came back home last week) :( So we have spent 3 of the past 5 months together.

During my last trip, on feb 28th, our 130 was approved and sent to NH for processing. We await that now.

My wife (24) speaks excellent english and has a degree. She has always been employed, never married and has never been in trouble.

I own 3 properties in Hawaii worth 1.5 mil, 2 businesses worth about 1 mil and about 300 k in the bank. I am a very young 47 (ouch) and have been divorced for 10 years. I support 2 teenagers who live in another state.

I post this because In am worried that we will be refused. I have read in here that the 'powers that be' would like for us to have known each other longer.

Incredibly, we know each other very well. I cannot imagine a question they could ask her that she could not answer. BTW, my phone bills averaged $1000 per month (now I have Thaitel;) and we have no less than 300 e-mails between us. We have traveled all over Thailand and have about 1000 pics to show. More importantly, we love each other very much.

My questions:

What do you savvy posters think of our chance for approval?

Is it too early (1 month) for me to contact the embassy (BKK) or the NVC in NH?

Should I download the forms and ready them prior to her getting packet 3?

How long are the police and med reports good...in the event we have a long wait for the interview?

Any thoughts on how long io takes to get the interview once the forms are submitted?

I know I am long winded and I apologise for that. As you all know, this is incredibly stressful. I promise to return some info when I am able.

Thank you in advance and I wish you all well.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI think I have to cancel my k1 petition, HELP!
Sorry to hear that. Although I read many of the replies to your e-mail, I didnt see one that really answered your concern...In fact many of the folks "couldnt believe" this was happening. I can and I will offer you (and others) some insight. As I have lived overseas, I saw many Americans find their love in other countries. When the Visa process starts the embassy will do a background check. My friend married (in Korea) a Filipina. When they eventually began the visa process - they asked questions about how they met and where they worked. The Filipina wife neglected to indicate she worked at a juicy bar (and that is also where they met). The US denied her a Visa because she did not indicte she worked there as she was somewhat embarrassed. The denial delayed the process about 8 months. They had to resubmitt all over again! BOTTOM LINE: Dont lie! PS: They also visited her barangay to establish she infacted was from there! Best of Luck - !!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Visa, and sending money to fiance~~~
I would think that if a certain amount that doesnt appear excessive is sent and a trend is establshed that in itself wouldnt cause alarm. It does show intent of support and adds to proof of an ongoing relationship. If thats it - get an immi attorney and sue the bastards! Many of us help out our sweethearts. For example in PI my fiance is trying to complete some paperwork with the NSO and DFA. Her employer didnt want her to take days off to do this so she left. Of course I'm going to help her during these times when she is trying to help in our common goal! call them find out...good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 and owning a house in another state. I owe more than it's worth
So does this make sense for my situation:

I'm using the 2007 tax returns. Won't be filing 2008 for a little while.

In 2007, I worked for Home123, which was a retail mortgage company. I was a w2 employee. The company went Bankrupt, and shut down in April.

From Home123, I went to a mortgage broker, which means that I became self employed 1099.

From Home123, I show $20,049 worth of income.

From being self employed, I show $22,089 (net profit, after the usual self employment deductions).

Should I just add those together and call that my annual income, $42,138? I'm sure that 2008 (although be a slow crappy year) is inline, and I'll get a letter from my employer, and I can show 6k in commission checks from last month (we get paid per loan on a weekly basis).

So I guess if this is how it works, I can leave the assets blank. I could show my IRA rollover which has 30k or so, if I don't have to, I won't. The path of least resistance is best!
